Goddess of Everything

Rate this book
In the mystic land of Aztlan del Norte, a realm of supernatural happenings and unexpected turns of fate, psychiatric healer Gabriél de LaTierra encounters appalling evil within the Orphanage of the Holy Innocents. Children disappear for reasons kept secret by Mother Juana de la Cruz, Superior of the Nunnery and the Orphanage.

Love for Mother Juana, Gabriél's widowed mother turned religious superior, clouds her devoted son's mind. Consuela, Gabriél's wife, confronts his wall of denial. Torn between love for mother and wife, Gabriél turns inward.

It is Consuela who propels Gabriél's discovery of the nighttime blood sacrifice of children in the desert, a centuries-old ritual that imparts immortality to Mother and her nuns. Gabriél is further enraged by Mother Juana's vengeful attack on Consuela and her kidnapping of their four-year-old son, Cuauhtémoc. But his actions will determine whether Consuela and Cuauhtémoc live or die, and the fate of Mother Juana de la Cruz.

Goddess of Everything is a blood-curdling tale of the affection of one mother for her son and her son's struggle for truth, freedom, and love.

This book was terrifying! I struggled reading it at night because I was so creeped out! There are a few trigger warnings concerning child death and abuse. This book is a tale of mother knows best with a twist. A story of good against evil.

Psychiatric healer Gabriele encounters numerous horrors at the Orphanage of Holy Saints. Children are going missing. The nuns that are supposed to protect the children instead inflict pain and humiliate them.
Mother Superior is controlling and obsessive. She is also hiding a big secret. Gabriele is torn between his loyalty and love for his mother who is Mother Superior and the love he has for his wife and child.
It is Gabriele’s wife that pushes him to discover the truth about his mother. This enrages Mother Superior. After an on her daughter in law, she kidnaps her grandson so that she can sacrifice him. The fate of his family is in his hands.

Who will Gabriele choose his mother or his wife and son?

Goddess of Everything is available now.

Check for TW. A fight of good verses evil in a literally sense. Mother is over all the nun’s and she thinks she is doing what good and right. She wants to get rid of her daughter in law and son and attempts to do just that so she can have her grandson. A grandson she is going to freaking sacrifice! There is child death and just abuse in every aspect. Also the nuns who are suppose to protect the children humiliate and kill the them. She says she is mother is no one crosses her. Nope she is devil and just evil. A story of Good (son) verses evil (mother). In the end she gets what she deserves. A good story but dark and twisted. I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.

Wow. All I have to say is that I was unable to read this novel when I was home alone, which is what I was hoping to do! The way this author weaves this blood-curdling tale is phenomenal, I honestly cannot say that I have ever read anything like this before, and though it certainly gave me goosebumps in the worst way, I could see myself reading other works by him. Written works such as these aren’t easy to read, but that’s all part of the fun, and horror. Growing up in a religious household and reading this work of art really had me gripping the edge of my seat.

The internal and external struggles had by the characters, namely Gabriel, brings tears to my eyes, as nothing is truly ever black and white. There is evil in this world, and there aren’t many novels that cover the dark side of people, religion, or people’s feelings/thoughts/opinions. The way that this author describes the struggles, the connection between the nuns and Mother Juana, Gabriel, and Consuela, and the bumps along the way, you can just tell that he poured his all into these pages. I look forward to reading this again once I have the mindset to really dig deep and will be back to edit this review once I do so. Well done!

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by him yet. This is a well developed story that I was pulled into right from the beginning. One of my favorite things from this author is how creative and unique his characters are and what they bring to the story. They make the story engaging and fun to read. This is a story about a son and his mother’s relationship. It is also a story of love, truth and a struggle for freedom. I won’t say too much about this story as I highly recommend reading this book and the previous books by this author. You won’t regret picking it up as they are that good.

Goddess of Everything

This was a really interesting and intriguing story to read and whilst completely out of my comfort zone with regards to content and genre I really enjoyed it. The author has a really engaging writing style that pulls you into the story straight away. The characters were really interesting to read about, I always find this author brings such originality to his characters and storylines and it was no different in this book. There were moments when I definitely had chills reading what I was reading and I was on the edge of my seat on more than one occasion!
Overall a really good read and one that I would highly recommend.

I found this to be a powerful read, emotive, ambiguous and playing with the mind of the reader. A thriller, but also a chiller, is how I'd describe it. I noticed that some of the chapters were short, which made me feel compelled to read more. There were a few moments when I frowned or raised my eyebrows whilst reading, and I like books that make me do that. I didn't really empathise with or relate to any character more than another, but what I did find was that I felt sympathy towards all of the characters in some way.

This book took me by complete surprise!! It was horror and mystery at its finest. All the characters had such secrets and such hidden depths to themselves. I honestly went in blindly not knowing what to expect, but I was surely not disappointed. This is a book you can pick up on a rainy night with a comfortable blanket.

Goddess of Everything by Paul DeBlassie III a thrilling four-star read. This was a rollercoaster of a read as it kept you guessing all the way through, that is one of the things I enjoy about this author, they always keep the thrill and action high, but not so high that there isn’t a story to take you along. Good characters and well developed and overall, very good, but there were just a couple of points that mother and son got a little off to me. Other than that, it good, even if I changed one of the character names in my head as I just couldn’t get my teeth around the word, so I just made up a new one instead.

“I am with you and will appear in many ways, in many forms during your life.” These words are spoken to Little Gabriél at his father’s funeral, by his father. With his father gone, Gabriél now fully belongs to his mother, a very possessive, intimidating, and domineering figure. It only makes sense that young Gabriél is frightened of her, and she uses that fear to solidify his role as obedient son. She does not like that Gabriél has the sight, and even seems a bit afraid of his gift. Her friends tell her he must be broken early before he becomes dangerous.

Years later, Gabriél has become a social worker and is every bit the devoted son…until he marries. He tries to balance married life and being the son his mother desires, until children begin to disappear from the orphanage his mother runs, children he has placed there, and Gabriél must face the truth of who he has been devoted to all these years.

This book is so well-written. The characters are fantastically defined with the menace of evil clearly felt throughout the story. A mix of the Countess Báthory, famed serial killer who bathed in the blood of her victims, and Evil Nun, Gabriél’s mother, Juana, is a villain of epic proportions. Power is her only desire, and it matters not who stands in her way. An amazing tale!

I really enjoyed reading The Goddess of Everything from Paul DeBlassie III. This is one thriller that will and did keep me sitting on the edge of my seat as I followed the story of Gabriel de LaTierra, a psychiatric healer. This is one that really takes it time to build and find that smashing ending, but I felt all the time spent was well worth every second. I found myself really connecting to Gabriel and becoming invested in his journey and the layers that surround it and build. I have high hopes this is not the last of this type of novel from DeBlassie, because I will be there to devour it next. I do look forward to seeing whatever new comes from him. This is my absolute favorite of his so I hope he can top it! If thrillers and layered, well planned and thought out novels that engage you are your thing, this is a book you do not want to miss out on reading!

‘Goddess of Everything’ by Paul DeBlaisse III follows Gabriel de LaTierra as he is caught between the shackles placed upon him by his own mother’s supernatural powers of filial piety and religious devotion and his need for the truth, love and freedom. The book’s greatest strength is by far it’s world building and the foundations that predicate it- the powers bestowed upon characters like Gabriel and Mother Juana de la Cruz are rooted in Latinx legends and myth, making for a very interesting and rich read, and the setting of the sandy and desolate deserts of New Mexico not only reinforces the suffocating and almost drowning atmosphere of the story, but allows characters of colour to shine. DeBlaisse’s deep love for Latinx culture is embedded in everything- from something simple like the food that characters eat to the great and awesome displays of power that bring about ill-omens or earth-shattering feats.

DeBlaisse’s writing style in ‘Goddess of Everything’ is also a clear and evident highlight. Through the use of vivid and striking descriptions, DeBlaisse makes readers feel not only as if they’re witnessing the events first-hand, but as if they’re the characters themselves- as if the wrath of Mother Juana has broken through the confines of the book to wrap a ghostly and phantom hand around the necks of the audience. Reading this story, I could taste, hear, smell, see and, most importantly, feel everything the characters were experiencing as if I was having an out-of-body experience- every word cutting straight through the heart and into the soul. Everything was so detailed, I could almost believe that the events actually occurred- as if there was actually such a dangerously obsessed order that went around inflicting divine punishment on anyone who dared even blink the wrong way.

DeBlaisse’s narrative form also allows for some compelling and interesting characters. Gabriel is a great and likeable protagonist who ultimately just wants to do right by the world, allowing readers to be deeply sympathetic to his plight. His relationship with his wife, Consuela, is also believable and charming, with Consuela being a strong character in her own right as well. The stand-out character, however, is none other than ‘Mother’ herself- being downright terrifying due to the sheer lengths she’d go to to keep holding onto her power and yet utterly captivating as more and more of her psyche is unravelled as the book goes on. A mother’s love has never been so hideous and fascinating.

Overall, if you want a book to exacerbate the mood of a dark and stormy night or you’re just in the market for a good old-fashion spook that will settled in your bones and make you jump, then ‘Goddess of Everything’ is a must-read.

The Goddess of Everything by Paul DeBlassie III tells the horrific tale of the length’s a mother will go through to keep her son’s love. Mother Juana de la Cruz is a devoutly religious woman and Superior of the Orphanage of the Holy Innocents located in the community of Atzlan del Norte. The Nunnery and Orphanage is a place of closely guarded secrets, one where evil and darkness lurk behind every door. Mother Juana de la Cruz’s son Gabriel de LaTierra is a psychiatric healer who has devoted his life to helping the children at the orphanage. When Gabriel starts uncovering secrets of supernatural happenings and missing children, he becomes suspicious of the true motives of the nuns running the Orphanage of the Holy Innocents. The one person he trusts within the orphanage and nunnery is his beloved Mother Juana de la Cruz, a woman who is a true saint in Gabriel’s eyes and could harm no one, especially a child. A woman who is also considered a saint by the devoutly religious community of Atzlan del Norte.

Gabriel’s wife Consuela, however, suspects otherwise and attempts to get Gabriel to see the true person his beloved Mother Juana de la Cruz is. Consuela has powers of her own as a seer and knows that true evil is smart, often hiding in plain sight. She tries to warn Gabriel that his beloved Mother Juana is pure evil. Gabriel finds such thoughts unimaginable because his Mother Juana is devoutly religious and he refuses to see how Mother Juana keeps him, her beloved son, brainwashed and under her spell. To shed light on what Mother Juana de la Cruz’s true intentions are, Gabriel is shown through visions from Consuela the blood sacrifices of children that take place in the desert late at night. A ritual that has been taking place for centuries and one that gives Mother Juana de la Cruz and her nuns immortality. Gabriel is horrified to think that his beloved Mother could be capable of such horrendous acts of pure evil and finds himself conflicted between the love he has for his wife and the love and devotion he has towards his mother. When his beloved wife Consuela is viciously attacked, and his young son is kidnapped, Gabriel is forced to act. Will Gabriel be able to find the strength and courage to save his wife and son? Will good triumph over evil?

The Goddess of Everything is a new twist on the age-old tale of good versus evil, and the darker side of religion. From the first page Paul deBlassie III pulled me into the story and held my interest with tales of the supernatural, magical powers, religious rituals and sacrifices, and the dark realms of true evil. This book was action packed throughout and delivered from start to finish. Great read that will give you goosebumps and will surely haunt your dreams!

This is a story based in the dark and desolate land of Aztlan Del Norte, it is a land of desert, scrub and sand which is whipped up into deadly storms on a regular basis, it is also home to religion and mysticism all rolled into one. This is where Gabriél de LaTierra lives and works as a psychiatric social worker and healer with his wife and son, as well as his mother Juana De La Cruz who is also the Mother Superior of the Nunnery and Orphanage of he Holy Innocents where Gabriél works with the children who reside there.
Gabriél loves his mother, but this conflicts with the love he has for his wife and his mother is behind it because she wants his love all for herself and to do this, she folds memories and feelings into his mind like silken threads. She has done this since his father died as they mourned at his gravesite, so as to make her the only one he loves, but what she doesn’t know is that he has another compartment she doesn’t see and this is where the spirit of his father left his message that he will always guide him throughout his life when he needs him. He has seen other things as well, the inner beasts of the people around him, shadows of dreams which come to pass in the days after and the spirit of a person, whether bad or good, he sees it all, but as he has grown up, he has become unable to do this as often as he used to, all because his mother blocks them from him with her arts.
As Gabriél prepares for his day, each one being different to the next as he helps the children of Aztlan Del Norte, he is focussing on one in particular that day, however especially when he is refused access to one of his patients, he digs deeper and finds that there have been reports of other children he has worked with disappearing and although the paperwork seems all in order, Gabriél feels that something isn’t right. He has his suspicions as to who is behind the disappearances, however, when he tries to gain clarity through his own mystic practices, what he discovers is more dark than he could have ever imagined and when he returns to his home, wife and son, he realises that the danger is reaching there as well.
Will Gabriél be able to uncover who is behind the dark practices enveloping the land and the children who live within it, or will his judgement be clouded by outside forces and will he be able to face the coming danger, or will his family be reached by the evil in the air? This fast paced drama will leave you reeling as much as it does it’s characters as mysticism, blood and death combine to create a world of darkness which sucks you in.

Goddess of Everything by Paul DeBlassie lll
3 Stars

Magic runs rampant in the land of Atzlan del Norte. Evil resides there and has taken hold of the land and people for decades. Evil is smart, it hides in plain sight. The people of Atzlan are very religious. When you follow religion so piously sometimes you are blind to what’s directly under your nose. Gabriel de LaTierra has grown to become a psychiatric healer. He loves helping the children of the orphanage. Mother Juan de la Cruz, Superior of the Nunnery and the Orphanage is his mother. It seems they are a tag team made in heaven. She heals their physical needs and Gabriel heals them mentally. Children start disappearing without reason and Gabriel decides he will get to the bottom of it. He is blinded by his religious beliefs and his love for his mother. Will the love and guidance from his wife help Gabriel open his eyes and see the truth or will he see all he cares about perish horribly in front of him?

Mr. DeBlassie once again wrote a vividly detailed story about the dark side of religion. The story is twisted and complex. Between the nuns capabilities to hurt you just with their thoughts and Gabriel and his wife’s visions, the story was constantly jumping back and forth. I felt like I was bad tripping, not knowing the difference between reality and the visions. I had to constantly reread to figure out what was going on. The blurred lines made it extremely frustrating. It is quite possible that I wasn’t in the right frame of mind to read a book like this. Maybe if I had read it at a different time, I would have enjoyed it more.

I am receiving compensation for my honest review of this e-book.

Goddess of Everything by Paul DeBlassie III is
a story about a Mother's overwhelming obsession with keeping her son under her thumb. When her son Gabriél decides to settle down and make a life for himself, she devises a devious plan to make sure that he returns his full focus to her.

The start of the book started out promising by laying out the groundwork of the relationships between each character. Unfortunately, the characters were very much one-sided. There was no depth whatsoever to any of them which was quite a letdown. The only reason I even remember any of their names is because a heavy dose of the word count was their names, especially Mother Juana de la Cruz! If there were several characters in the story then I could see the repetitive name dropping for clarification but when there is pretty much only 3 main characters, then it starts to have that "See Spot Run" feeling to it. There was also a fair amount of redundancy to the story as well, saying the same thing but with the words rearranged.

Overall I think that Mr. DeBlassie could have done this story justice had he made you feel for the plight of Gabriél. Though it was a very slow story, it felt rushed as well. At no point did I feel attached to any character, especially the children because they were just mere blips in the story. There was no resolution whatsoever and the ending was very anticlimactic. With regret, I can not in good conscience recommend this book to anyone and that is a first for me.

These views are completely my own and I am appreciative for the chance to review this book.

Whoa! What a great thrilling read! Mother Juana de la Cruz is pure evil under the guise of religion and so is her entire nunnery. Using her son in ways that are unbelievable and often unreal. Poor Gabriel and his wife Consuela and their son who suffer from her nasty needs. I am stunned at how evil the religions of the world can be but, covered up by the “good” that they do and the money that is generated. I must say that Consuela is my favorite character as she sticks by her husband through all the evil and trickery that takes place and to find out that she is the hero in the end is the best reward for reading the book. Mothers are not the be all and end all in a little boy’s world! It is truly their wives that are looking out for their husband’s best interest. Always listen to that inner voice also known as intuition or a gut feeling- it usually does have something important and truthful to speak.
This book is full of twists and turns and kept me on the edge of my seat during the entire read. I found this book to be a real psychological thriller in such as way as to question religion and the truth of its motives. Great character development with many colorful characters and lots of mind-bending atrocities. I appreciate the Native lore of the book and the setting description that makes me feel the hot arid desert and the sand whipping and stinging my face. Such a great book to read but be prepared for the ride of your life.

I was looking for a horror thriller, and this tale did not disappoint, though I was hoping for nightmares. The story itself was quite interesting. Right from the prologue, it was obvious there was more than meets the eye. I loved that the evil in the story was not apparently bad to many of the characters. The idea of hiding true evil inside something so outwardly good was intriguing and made for a compelling story. I did feel as though the flow of the story was interrupted often by exploring happenings from the past in the middle of a current scene, especially in the earlier parts of the story. Often times I totally forgot what was happening in the moment because the story went on a tangent, often making me wonder if I missed something that led the story to that route. The first about 25% was mostly setting up the story, and after that it really became intriguing. I loved the use of mal de ojo in the story. Growing up having my mother telling me to be wary of mal de ojo really made that hit home. I also enjoyed the use of religion in the tale. Since religion is something most people have experience with and so easily deals with the supernatural, it makes the story much more personal. The tale was twisted and interesting, so even though I slept soundly, I would recommend to anyone looking for a horror thriller!

Gabriél is the son of Mother Juana de la Cruz, Mother Superior of the nunnery and orphanage in Aztlan del Norte. He is also a therapist to the children who live within the orphanage and it is his passion to help heal their wounded psyches. He loves his mother and truly believes she is doing right by these children, and that the other sisters are sinister. Love can be blind. Suddenly children are going missing and Gabriél has to face the fact that his beloved mother is every bit a part of it.

Goddess of Everything by Paul DeBlassie III was my first book by this author. Admittedly, I have never been much of a horror reader. I have a hard time getting through certain subjects and situations that can often come with that genre. There were a few areas in this story where I had to take a break because it messed with me a bit. But isn’t that what horror is supposed to do? That being said, it did not affect how I felt about the story overall, nor diminish my respect for the author’s incredible writing skills that captured so much detail in the descriptions that it was easy to visualize all that was happening. There is a lot building up in the beginning, then suddenly things are unfolding and I was completely wrapped up in it. If you love the supernatural horror genre, I highly recommend you add this book to your list!

Well Then

That was…something. I just - I don’t have the words. As usual, I’ll find them, and probably a ton of them but believe me this book is just something.

So let’s start here: if you’re gonna be all offended by the religious perversion in this book just move on. The cover tells you enough of what you’re getting into. You know whether or not you can handle it and/or your offense level. Don’t take it out on the book.

Now, in actual book review news:

This book is a whole lotta wtf did I just read levels of nonsense. There’s plenty of eye rolling for some characters, others are plenty creepy. I can surely tell you while I assumed I knew where the story was going, I did not see how it got there coming so that’s good! The religious undertones are there and as someone who grew up Catholic it honestly freaked me out. Hence my little warning up there - I knew people that would be highly offended by this book, and there’s no reason for that.

This started super slow. I wasn’t sure it was ever going to pick up but once it did it was very quick! I’m not sure when it really started picking up but I do know those last few chapters just flew by - I had to know how it ended!

Anyway - I recommend this to horror lovers, but those that aren’t going to be offended by the religious content and the way it is portrayed.

Goddess Of Everything is a riveting supernatural thriller by Paul DeBlassie III. As I have come to expect from Mr. DeBlassie, this has an original concept that lept right off the pages. It’s full of vividly detailed descriptions, intriguing developments, and unique, interesting and well-developed characters.
This book blends psychological and spirituality into a tightly woven tale, all of which had me turning the pages to find out what would happen next and how everything would play out in the end. This has a complex and multilayered storyline which will pull you in and grip you the whole way through. It isn’t a light and fluffy read- it takes some chewing to get through, as the darker elements take hold.
The story is set in the mystical mythical Atzlan del Norte where we meet Gabriél de LaTierra, a psychiatric healer, and his wife Consuela. With children disappearing from the local orphanage, where his mother is also the Mother Superior, Gabriel finds himself thrust into mind-bogglingly twisted tale. When evil, love for your mother, loyalty, spirituality, and the truth mash, it spells for a great story- and this book is well worth the read to find out exactly what happens.

Thank you, Paul DeBlassie III !

Goddess of Everything is the only book I have read by Paul DeBlassie III. It was very dark and twisted psychological thriller. It wasn't scary in the sense I couldn't sleep, but more, when you think about it, the characters and story is pretty messed up. It is a story mainly focused on Mother Juana, a religious superior in Aztlan del Norte. This city has history of the supernatural, and events that cannot be explained any other way. Mother Juana runs an orphanage, and her son grows up to be a counselor of those children. He loves his mother and is blind to her cruel nature and the disappearances of children from her Orphanage. Gabriel (mother Juana's son) tries to see the good in everything, but his wife, Consuela, has her doubts. When Consuela and their son disappear, and are believed to be murdered, Gabriel is the primary suspect. He expects his position, and that of his mother, will be his saving grace. Instead, things take a 180 and Gabriel is left to make some hard decisions about his life and his dedication to his mother. This story will mess with your head. The writing is very descriptive and provides great imagery. You can envision the events as they happen, and develop strong feelings toward the characters.

Goddess of Everything is unlike anything I have ever read. It is twisted, entertaining, and I couldn’t figure out what was going to happen next! It isn’t a shocking, too-scared-to-sleep type of read but will instead invade your brain slowly, almost unnoticeably, which is scarier to me.
There is nothing like the love a mother has for her son, but this read will have you questioning everything. Are your own perception filters blocking you from seeing something that is obvious to others? Gabriél has been raised to love his mother above all else, but once he marries Consuela, there is no black and white choice anymore it seems. Everything is a shade of gray, and he can’t figure which way to go.
Helping kids is Gabriél’s passion yet he finds something disturbing about some of the happenings at the orphanage where they live, and where his mother is in charge. I like that Consuela tries to gently yet consistently help her husband come to the truth without forcing her view onto him. There are some disturbingly graphic parts of this story that may affect sensitive readers but overall, this is a tremendous book.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Phenomenal book!

Goddess of Everything by Paul DeBlassie III is a spine chilling horror story that is on the same level of a Stephen King novel. I love a good horror book and this one did not disappoint!! There aren’t many horror novels that make me want to read with the light on and leaves me creeped out by dark shadows…but this one certainly fits that bill. Gabriel, who is the main character, has a mother who is different….in so many ways from most mothers. Mother Juana has some “powers” that she tends to use on others as well as on her son and is possessive and wanting to control all aspects of his life, as well as his family. She is also holds a role in the church and has expectations of her son being faithful to her – at all cost. As things start happening around him, Gabriel starts looking for answers. DeBlassie’s ability to intertwine the supernatural into the story line is intriguing and a book you will not want to put down. This is a must read - don't just put it on your wish-list to read later, buy and read it now!!

This is a really good read. It's not my first book  by this author but I enjoyed it very much. I love how the author draws together elements of paranormal and also spiritual. This tale is dark and twisted and will keep you hooked.

Gabriél is a psychiatric healer. He has always had a close relationship with his mother. That is until the day he gets married.

His mother is Mother Superior and she runs the local orphanage where a lot of damaged children live. From the outside it looks like she runs it with love and compassion but looks can be deceiving.

Gabriél works with these children trying to help them get over the trauma that's happened to them. But when children start to go missing Gabriél starts asking questions he may not like the answer too.

With mystical happenings, spiritual assistance and his mother out for revenge will Gabriél and his family be safe or will he feel the full wrath of the Almighty?

DeBlassie III invites you into a dark and chilly world of the supernatural. Leave the light on if you attempt to read "Goddess of Everything: A Blood-Curdling Tale of Truth, Freedom, and Love," after dark. Better yet, read it during the day and make sure you are not alone. This story is not for the faint of heart as DeBlassie's plot is frightening from the first word to the last. His characters delight in pain to gain approval of God. Such is the case of Mother Juana who also skilled at brainwashing and focuses her abilities on her son Gabriel. Meanwhile, he is is sacrificing character who works with abused children but given the tone of the book this deed will not save Gabriel. There is an additional plot twist with his book loving and wise wife, Consuela who seems to know more than the knowledge contained in the books she has read. This creepy supernatural fiction will stay with you long after the final word is read and you attempt to turn off the light. Well done DeBlassie!

Horror but not really the nightmare type. The story is really quite a good read. From the very beginning you could tell the story has a lot to tell. The evil as people would call it wasn't evil to a lot of the characters just evil in its own way. When hiding something that is actually evil inside something good, sounds a bit like another story I've read, but seems like not everyone would do such a thing. It is very interesting how someone thinks of things like that. Lots of things seem to happen all at the same time, rhe original story line was interrupted by something else. I didn't like that very much. I wanted to finish knowing what was going to happen, then something else does. After the actual set up of the story was done it became very interesting to read. The story was very twisty and turvy, very horror story. I don't usually read horror or thriller books but this one was very well written. I would recommend it for anyone to read.

Goddess of Everything: A Blood-Curdling Tale of Truth, Freedom, and Love, by Paul DeBlassie III, is the first book that I have read from this author. I’ve never been into horror or thriller or religious books, but this book had me hooked. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The authors writing style is phenomenal. I was immediately captured within the first chapter.
Its horror but not really the nightmare type kind where you’ll wake up in the middle of the night screaming. The evil as some people would say wasn't evil to quite a few of the characters. It was just evil in its own way. When hiding something that is evil inside something that is good, a ying Yang type of situation. But it seems like not everyone could do such a thing. Its interesting to see how people think of things like that in a way. This was a very well written book and I would recommend it for anyone to read.

This one had some gore and was icky at times 😅. I really liked the spirituality aspects like how Catholicism can easily turn into literal evil ritualistic witchcraft but ya know some people might disagree there lol. Also how your intuition and inner knowing should be trusted. I’ve personally always been terrified of nuns and the Catholic Church so of course I got the creeps while reading in the witching hours. Ewww what a cult lol. As we can see in real life they get away with everything and all the systems are connected. I’m looking at you Criminal Justice system.

You never know who is trying to thwart you. It might just be your own mom. We see very clearly in this story some people should not be parents and children are not an extension of yourself!

But 3 stars because I was confused at times, stuff was repetitive, the end was rushed and I wanted more character development. It was hard to care at times because I didn’t feel connected.
