USA Today Bestselling Author, Stephanie Kay has always loved a good romance, and she got hooked on the dirty ones at the tender age of 14, when she told her mother that if the cover wasn’t a bodice ripper, then there was no sex in the book. As an avid mystery reader, her mother never checked to see if Stephanie was lying. Twenty plus years later, Stephanie’s most prized possession is her Kindle, and she may have a Hallmark movie obsession.
She has called California, Maryland, and Rhode Island her home, but now lives in New Hampshire with her husband where she asks him incessant questions until he escapes to go hiking in the mountains. That’s the only time she can get him out of the house so she can get her writing in. Married couples shouldn’t both work from home!

What I love about this series is the realistic nature. I feel like this couple could be my neighbor. The situation's that are faced are common to us all but Stephanie has a way of putting a small twist on it and changes it just a degree. At times Lily frustrated me. I understand her wanting to protect her children but Adam is such a sweetheart he would never have hurt those kids in any way. There were a couple of times I found myself talking to my kindle as if I would change Lily's mind - yes, I'm a little crazy. Everyone deserves an Adam. He's such a lovable, funny, enjoyable character to read who just wants to love Lily the way he should have years ago. 4.5 Stars for Last Call by Stephanie Kay

3.5 Stars I liked this book. It’s the second in the Love by the Bay series. This book fits a couple of tropes. Taboo, Slow burn, Friends to lovers, Unrequited love. A little bit of everything. Lily has loved Adam, her big brothers best friend, since she first saw him when he was twelve. Just before she leaves for college, she decides it’s time to tell him how she feels. Well, too much alcohol and an impromptu make out session that only one of them remembers, is just what she needs to put Adam out of her mind for good. Thirteen years later, they are both back in town. Adam’s running his dads bar after his hockey career was cut short. Thinking about opening a second location. Lily is a single parent raising her seven year old twins, running a successful real estate business, trying to finalize her divorce. Adam needs a new bar, Lily sells real estate. Yeah, you know where this is headed. While Adam is completely on board with finally getting together with Lily, she fights it all the way. While she loves Adam, she wants to keep their relationship a secret. And that works until Adam is tired of being her dirty little secret. Add in the return of her soon to be ex who is placing new demands onto their divorce agreement, and she is stressed to the max. What I liked. Adam. He was great. Always a part of Lily’s family, he fits well. He was great with her kids. And extremely patient with Lily and her excuses for hiding their relationship. Lily was a good mom. Everything she does is for her kids. They always came first. I liked the story. I liked the characters, for the most part. What I didn’t like. Lily’s wishy washy attitude about Adam. The games she played with him. And the doormat she became around her ex. She drove me nuts at times. Like the first book, this book was very repetitive. Too much back and forth internal dialogue about their feelings for each other in each chapter. It’s told in dual points of view. No cliffhanger. It’s part of a series but could standalone. It sets up the first book in the spinoff hockey series.
Wonderful second chance romance, blending that favourite of Romance tropes with the second favourite, the Best friend's little sister. Add in a single mom and a forcibly retired Hockey Player and you have Lily and Adam's story.
Delightful second book in the series. I enjoyed revisiting the Lanzi family and their love of food made me hungry throughout the book. Maybe adding Rose Lanzi's Tiramisu or Lasagna recipes would be the only thing that could make this book better.
I loved Adam! I loved his alpha personality. He wanted Lily and was determined to prove they belonged together. Lily was hesitant to get involved, because she was still trying to get rid of her no good soon-to-be ex husband. Will Lily claim Adam as hers before he announces, last call? This is my first Stephanie Kay book, and she's got me interested to read more, hopefully soon.
This is the second book in the Love by the Bay series. It is the story of former hockey player, now bar owner Adam Byrne and his best friend’s little sister, Lily Pierson. Adam has loved Lily since he was 12 years old and she felt the same. Life interfered and years later Lily is separated from her husband, raising her twins on her own. Adam falls for all three of them, but there are bumps on the road ahead.
Lily has been in love with Adam forever, but timing and circumstances prevented anything from happening. A's feeling the same way. She's about to be divorced and he decides to go for it. But her ex comes back to throw a wrench in the works.
I found Lily to be highly annoying. I found her skittishness to pursue something with Adam until the divorce is finalized admirable... until she starts playing this game with Adam's feelings. Highly annoying character!
This is the second book of this series and I feel about this one as I did the first one. It's cute it's well written and it's a fun way to pass the time. No eye roll inducing drama just real-life drama. It did drag a little for me between 50-60% through and I really hate the cover. However, I will be signing up for the next one.
