After the Fall, all is left is blood and revenge.

The destruction of the perimeter, and the vanishing of Titan and Prometheus has left the Realm open to invaders. With a skeleton fleet guarding the outer rims of the solar system, all hopes of defeating the Orias queen have diminished. Now it's about survival. But in a corner of cold dark space, hope lingers.

Emmeline Augury was born to break the rules, and now a fugitive who has nothing to lose and driven by revenge, she conquers all odds and locates the second piece of the mythical device.

The game is on. The pawns are set. As the power of the mythical device unravels itself, who will win? A young girl with her heart set on destroying a being as powerful as the gods themselves? Or the queen who was born to rule the seven realms? The answers lie in the wake of the Poseidon.

The way I write and approach research has been shaped (bless me!) by many incredible people. These individuals can be grouped into three categories: researchers, authors, and mentors. They’ve created websites, shared their struggles through blogs, published their work, and, from these varied sources, I’ve learned so much. Their journeys have inspired me in countless ways, and now, I feel it’s my turn to pay it forward. 😊

About Me

Born and raised in India, I wrote whenever I could—even after becoming a doctor. Writing was my savior during tough times, though it always remained just a hobby. Later, I moved to Australia to further my research and complete a PhD in Biomedical Sciences.

People often say, “You change after completing your PhD.” I certainly have. Suddenly (don’t ask me why!), I feel a strong urge to write more books and share my stories with the world. I’ve also discovered a deep passion for helping others develop their research and creative skills—something that has become one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.

Poseidon is book two in the 'Realm' series and didn't disappoint! The action starts right away and the author makes you feel like you are part of the action without overwhelming (and unnecessary) descriptions. The characters and narrative are very well done, and I wanted to read every word as well as keep turning the pages. H.G. Ahedi is an outstanding author and knows how to create worlds like Gene Roddenberry with some modern twists. Highly recommend both books in the Realm series!

Wow, I'm the first to review on Goodreads! Author Ahedi has done it again! Poseidon has just as much of the excitement and surprises of Fall of Titan. The action begins from the opening pages and does not let up until the end (which, you ought to know, ends on a cliffhanger, so this is not a complete story arc). Although there are a lot of characters to keep track of, Ahedi created a list to consult if you need it, and since the scenes are marked to differentiate from the various space ships, it helps you keep track of them. This series if a must read for any fan of science fiction/adventure!

Wow. This was one hell of a read! In a good way! I had been a while since I read Fall of Titan, so it took me a little bit of time to get back into the story, but it was worth it. I got reinvested in all the characters who have their own interconnected stories to tell, all happening at the same time. Ahedi manages very cleverly to hook you and guide you to follow it all, with intensity. One of my favorite characters is Anastasia, who has such a hard job to do, and in the process maybe even denying herself a life with the man she clearly loves. Towards the end of the book I started to realise not everything, if indeed anything, was going to be resolved, and now I'm thirsting after the sequel!

This author is amazing when it comes to creating stories of science fiction. Nothing more but pure imagination got sure. This author has so
Much creativity that when I close my eyes I can picture the world she has created for this series. So much detail is what kept me interested all the way through from the beginning until the end. Bringing dabs of fantasy
Into this amazing work of science fiction shocks me! How it can be done so well. Keeping the reader hooked til the end. I did see a few flaws of grammatical errors. But it did not
Bother me. The story and creativity is why this review is five stars! Well done!

Poseidon is the second installment in the Realm series by the magnificent HG Ahedi. I love sci-fi so dang much, and books like this just scratch all the right places in my brain. They make me giddy and nostalgic for the times when Star Trek and Doctor Who used to just play in the background of our house. My birth-dad was obsessed with these shows, and it kind of bled into my brain.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Ahedi is a master of using every single word to suck the reader right in. Her light and airy way of writing is simple enough that I don't get bogged down but at the same time is descriptive enough that I'm able to paint a picture. From the layout of each ship to the alien worlds we get to explore, everything is expertly detailed. I liked that in this book, we get to see MORE of space. In book 1, we were sort of limited, but now--we've branched out. It should also be mentioned that I adore how Ahedi is knitting in the fantasy with the science fiction. It's not just astronauts exploring space, it's aliens with odd, fantastical abilities and children with... weird visions. (I'm still trying to figure out Seline.)

As far as characters go, most of the favorites return for Book 2. I'm still a little salty about what happened to a CERTAIN MAN who might have been named after an element on the periodic table, but I've been trying to move on. Emmeline is growing on me, slowly but surely. I like how she's showing her resilience through this installment in the series. Anastasia continues to be my favorite. Watching her wrestle with her own guilt about what happened in the battle is interesting and relatable. She's not letting it slow her down, though. I'm also really interested in the villain--the Queen of the Orias. We've got some really cool backstory unfolding here!

Pacing... A solid 10/10 on this one. The first book had a bit of a bumpy start, but this one dove straight in. I enjoyed the recap at the beginning. My brain needed it since it's been so long since I read the series. But after that, it moves quickly and effortlessly. I kept thinking, "This is like watching a TV show." The way that each chapter/section jumps between characters and locations is really beneficial to keeping the pace up. You don't really have time to get tired of listening to one character groan because you've already moved on to the next one. There are like five multiple storylines unfolding at the exact same time, and while they do interact with one another in their own way, each is engaging by itself as well. Just, well done all around.

It's getting a five star from me. Top tier science fiction. Nostalgic, engaging, heartbreaking, suspenseful--everything I need in a good book.

It has been a while since I read Fall of Titan, so it took me a little bit of time to figure things out. I truly believe H G Ahedi is a master when it comes to science fiction. Ahedi connects all the different story lines very cleverly and continues building thrill after thrill. I talk about thrillers because that as a genre is my favorite and the brilliance which the author is able to awe and surprise is amazing. This is very much a science fiction thriller. This is a book filled with both imagination and action with an engaging narrative very much for enthusiasts of Star Trek.
The detailing holds your attention from the beginning until the end. Poseidon is a world in outer space where the enemy is always close and what happens next is unpredictable, a world of chaos and deathly danger. To watch the destruction unfold is electrifying and the only focus is on defeating the enemy and on survival.
Emmeline's journey is captivating as she flees a fugitive driven by revenge. At its core, "Poseidon" explores the resilience of the human spirit in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. 5 stars for this book filled with emotion, energy and effervescence.

Step into a world where chaos reigns and vengeance fuels the spirit. "Poseidon" by H.G. Ahedi takes us on a gripping journey through a universe torn asunder by destruction, revenge, and the unwavering hope that flickers even in the darkest corners of space.

In this post-apocalyptic realm, the opening line "After the Fall, all is left is blood and revenge" sets the tone for a narrative that's as intense as it is electrifying. The destruction of the protective perimeter, coupled with the disappearance of Titan and Prometheus, marks a turning point where the Realm faces the looming threat of invaders. The desperation is palpable, and the only focus is survival.

Ahedi's writing style is a whirlwind of vivid imagery and pulsating emotions. The evocative language brings the universe to life, making the reader feel every shiver in the cold dark space and taste the bitterness of revenge. The characters, particularly Emmeline Augury, stand out as multi-dimensional and captivating. Emmeline's journey from rule-breaker to fugitive driven by revenge is a rollercoaster of determination and resilience.

The plot is intricately woven, unfolding layers of mysteries and propelling the story forward with relentless momentum. The quest for the mythical device adds an element of intrigue, keeping readers engaged as they traverse the uncharted territories of the universe.

At its core, "Poseidon" delves into themes of survival, vengeance, and hope. It explores the resilience of the human spirit even in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. The emotional impact is profound, as readers are pulled into the characters' struggles and triumphs.

Strengths lie in Ahedi's ability to craft a vivid and immersive world, filled with dynamic characters who grapple with their demons. The fast-paced narrative keeps the adrenaline pumping, and the themes resonate deeply, making the story relatable despite its futuristic setting.

As for weaknesses, some readers might crave more extensive world-building to fully grasp the intricate dynamics of the Realm and its inhabitants. Additionally, while the revenge-driven plot is engaging, it occasionally leans towards predictability.

In my personal opinion, "Poseidon" is a captivating read that balances action-packed sequences with thought-provoking themes. Ahedi's writing style paints a vivid picture of a universe teetering on the edge, and Emmeline's journey is one that captures the heart.

In conclusion, "Poseidon" by H.G. Ahedi is a compelling space opera that ignites the imagination and explores the depths of human resilience. With its richly woven narrative and dynamic characters, it's a tale that leaves an impact long after the final page.

Engaging read:-

It is a captivating blend of science fiction, fantasy, and adventure. With its richly developed characters, high-stakes conflict, and imaginative world-building, the novel offers an exhilarating reading experience.
The unveiling of the power behind the mythical device adds an extra layer of intrigue, as the battle for control escalates. The story poses thought-provoking questions about the nature of power, the limits of revenge, and the resilience of the human spirit.
The tension between the two powerful women, each with their own motivations and desires, creates a compelling dynamic that fuels the narrative's momentum.
As the battle between Emmeline Augury and the Orias queen unfolds, readers will find themselves eagerly turning the pages to discover who will emerge victorious in the wake of the Poseidon.

Sci-fi isn't my usual genre to dive into, however I enjoyed book one so much that I had to know what happened next! I love the human element that the author brings to the story and the relationships and emotions that evolve when people are being pushed to their limits. Poseidon is fast-paced and multi POV, leaving you flying through the pages needing to know what happens next. I was so engrossed I stayed up to finish it! I think Emmeline was my favourite character in this book. Without giving away too many spoilers, I admired her for her strength and courage to continue. A great read and I'm looking forward to discovering what happens next and if they can all find their way home!

Brilliant!
I didn't think H.G. could top the suspense and action of her first book, Fall of Titan. But she did!

The action is just as nail-biting, and the personal trials as heartrending as the first. I found the characters were pulling me in like I was one of them sitting on the bridge or in the Midnight Orchid having a drink. I watched them go through their day.
The attention to detail is fantastic, and the interaction of the characters is so smooth and seamless from one point of view to another.

A book not just for sci-fi fans.
I cannot wait for book 3!

A Thrilling Sequel that Exceeds Expectations

This book is a masterclass in epic storytelling, with a narrative that's both intense and immersive. Emmeline Augury is a force to be reckoned with, driven by a fierce determination to avenge her losses and bring down the Orias queen. The world-building is expansive and detailed, with a richly imagined solar system that's both familiar and yet utterly transformed. The pacing is relentless, with twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end.

The war with the Orias intensifies and every character finds themselves put to their limits. Will they be able stand back up and fight? This books jumps directly into the action with a massive space battle and never lets up. This sequel raises the stakes a few notches while also being much darker than The Fall of Titan. I really enjoyed it from start to finish. And the author is obviously very intelligent, weaving a realistic adventure among the stars.
