They survived one curse, breaking another could burn them.
Thalassa and Alina spent one hundred years dancing for a golden dragon. With their elder sister and her huntsman venturing north, they are left to figure out a new place in life. One that might not involve dragons. However, when the dragons are attacked by a shadowy cabal, the sisters choose to join a quest to root out the organization before it can bring war back to the Five Kingdoms.
Lore spent over a century alone save for his human companions, the huntsman and three sisters. A healer and curse breaker, he closed away his emotions after unimaginable loss until one of the sisters dared challenge his rule of detachment. Something he cannot allow. When he discovers an old enemy is involved with the cabal attack, he agrees to help break the cabal’s schemes in hopes the dancer wrapping her fingers around his heart will fall for another.
Their quest becomes more perilous when the cabal uses magic to separate the group and curse the dragons to madness. Thalassa and Alina must each fight for their dragon’s mind. But to survive this curse, they must unlock the secrets of their own heritage before everyone succumbs to dragon’s fire.
A fantasy retelling of the classic fairytale, Snow White and Rose Red
Clean romance, adventure, and humor combine to bring classic fairytales and myths to new life in Love's Enchanted Tales, a series of interconnected stand-alone stories. Each story can be read and enjoyed on its own. However, for greatest enjoyment they should be read in order.
I loved Love's Enchanted Tales. I was thrilled when I learned that Thalassa and Alina would be getting their HEAs as well. This is a reimagining of Snow White and Rose Red, though I am not familiar enough with that tale to say whether this was an good retelling or not. What I can say is that it is a really good story. It fits seamlessly with the previous series while still being able to be read as a stand alone.
The continuing theme of curses could get tedious through so many books, but the variety of curses and their keys makes it so interesting.
As always, the relationships written were both heartfelt and heartbreaking at times. Thalassa confronting her inability to bear children is especially tender to me as I went through fertility issues myself. The way her feelings and reactions were written felt completely genuine. Seeing Lore finally melt was fabulous, as well. Overall, this was a very satisfying story. Can't wait for the next!
I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get through this story since the story it stems from had a cuss word in it and I couldn't finish it - but it was clean all the way through and I enjoyed it very much.
Thalassa and Alina have spent 100 years as Lore's companions (along with their other sister who has married the huntsman) and now they have to figure out what to do with their lives - until the dragons are attacked by the Cabal (Alain and his brother, the blue dragons) have come to help Lore in his battle against the Cabal; but both Alain and Lore are caught in a curse, if they transform into dragons they will go mad and destroy everything around them, mindless of who they are and who they love. The Cabal sweeps them up and sends them to different locations, but the dragons are able to keep one of the girls with them - now they have to worry about the curse and for Lore, falling in love, something he is determined not to do.
This is an action packed mild romance that is clean throughout.
Contains: kisses and fighting. Supposedly this is a new series but it really feels like it is the same series as Love’s Enchanted Tales it is definitely necessary to read that series first since we first meet our MCs in Dancer and other characters in Dragon’s Bane. While I enjoyed reading this book, I found it very frustrating that the two couples go from nothing to love and we don’t see it. It would have been so easy to have them talk to each other or to be vulnerable with each other. It would have only taken a few paragraphs to develop the love story instead there is some tripe about how they can create a mate bond at first sight or something like that. I was so confused by Lore’s actions too. He pushes Alina away and then in the next scene he marries her. What was that all about?

A solid "ok". I liked the original series (though the book this one follows was one of my least favorites), but I have yet to truly enjoy a Snow White and Rose Red retelling. I've never actually read the original fairytale, but I think it must not lend itself well to adaptation. This book is basically just two unrelated short books bound together because the protagonists are sisters. Like literally the sisters split off and one of their stories is told through, and then the other's is the second part of the novel. It felt like there was a lot of insta-love because the author didn't have time to fully develop two completely separate romantic relationships.
It was nice to see a resolution to Dancer and to see how Yvette and Draven are doing. Thessa has a lot of character growth and healing which is great to see. The book is split so it’s a little like two novellas combined but it works for this book. While not the strongest in the series, it’s still a good addition. For best appreciation, readers will want knowledge of the events in Dancer and Dragon’s Bane. However, it could stand on its own, certain important points though might be missing some context. I would recommend this book, particularly for people who have read the aforementioned two books.
When I first read The Storyteller’s Dragon (Love’s Enchanted Tales book 2) and then Dancer (book 8), I loved the golden dragon and wanted to know more about him. It was incredibly satisfying to finally get to read his story in this book.
I also love that it was a continuing story of Dancer and that we got to see so many characters from the Love’s Enchanted Tales. I can’t wait for the rest of the books in this series to come out!
This was a unique take on Snow White and Rose Red and an awaited update on Imani's sisters, Thalassa and Alina. This book contains characters from previous books, but can be read as a standalone, although it is best enjoyed after reading Love's Enchanted Tales, especially the later books. This was a sweet and clean read, I'd rate it PG for kissing and thematic violence.
Dragon’s Fire is an absolutely brilliant start to the Love’s Further Enchanted Tales. I enjoyed the continuation of Alain and Dale, as well as Lore, Thalassa and Alina’s stories. I can’t wait to read book 2!
Fun book with engaging characters and mostly believable growth and change in the villain. Only some minor things didn't quite add up. Squeaky clean romance. A good light read to escape into.
