Second Time Around is the third book in The Billionaire Brothers series and introduces the reader to the three Fleming brothers. This story is about Ryan Fleming and Harley Andrews and starts when the two are in high school. They are meant to be a forever couple and even exchange a bracelet and a watch which both have the inscription "Until the Sun Burns Away". But something changes for Ryan and before he leaves for university in NYC he breaks Harley's heart, telling her they need to separate and she should not come with him. Harley moves on with her life but her heart never fully mends. Sure she went to university, has a career, bought a house and has had relationships but it all is still not completely fulfilling. The one thing that Harley did do was stay close to Janine, Ryan's mother. As Janine only had the three boys she had always loved Harley and that did not stop even after the breakup. Ryan in the meantime has become a huge success in NYC and is now a billionaire. Sure he has a lavish lifestyle with women chasing him. But he has never gotten over Harley and still does love her. It was his decision and he has to live with things the way they are. When Janine is diagnosed with cancer it is Harley who helps to take care of her and take her to her appointments. Ryan comes back to town after his mother passes for her funeral. Harley is brokenhearted that Janine is gone and to add to that her heart rips apart even more when she and Ryan are crossing paths again. But they are pushed together with some meddling and things are rekindled. Ryan is serious about being with Harley again but things are not quite smooth sailing the second time around either. It seems that Ryan has some things to learn still about communication with those he loves. He will have to fight to get and keep Harley and have the HEA they were meant to have.
Well you get your emotional roller-coaster ride with this story. At times needed a tissue and at others I wanted to kick some cute Ryan butt. I enjoyed this story even if some things did not quite work for me all the time. I just took the journey that Kelli Walker wanted the reader to take and got to a lovely HEA at the end.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
First of all, I love second chance romances. But honestly, it feels like the poor girl just took him back without a thought. Insta forgiveness! WHERE IS THE ANGST AND GROVELING! Ryan straight up left her because he assumed they wouldn't make it if moved to NY. That their relationship would eventually deteriorate, even though she said she'd be fine and she'd go with him. Like what a good girlfriend... He made a decision for the both of them. IDIOT MOVE. He left her. Let's be honest, he wanted to experience life without someone holding him back so he could sleep around. Not because he wanted to do what was best for her...
Another thing, she doesn't do anything really to move on, and when he does come back, she takes him back with little to no groveling.
I don't know, she seems like a very flat character, with no mystery or strength. I mean there's potential, but in the end it leaves you asking what happened?
💔💔ONE FANTASTIC JOURNEY💔💔 Leaping lizards! Kelli just dialed my number and rang my bell, blowing me clean out of the water with this heartwarming and heart-rending treat, holding you prisoner from start to finish jetting this jewel to a whole new level. Mishaps and serendipity descend in a flurry of longing gazes and subtle maneuvers while blurred lines and scattered barriers solidify as the limitations are relaxed and tested, showcasing the thrilling quirks and defying bents, blasting this little hotshot to life beautifully. Jumping hurdles and spinning hoops, observing the heartbreaking struggles and explosive triumphs while traversing the dramatic twists and wicked turns unfolding, secrets confessed revelations unmasked and promises made, propelling this jewel into a tailspin with an astonishing culmination, blasting this baby to life brilliantly. The attraction and chemistry ignites with such intoxicating intensity and boundless emotions and infinite affection, drawing our characters closer, binding them to one another perfectly. The characters are complex, genuine and realistic with traits and qualities that balance and blend, with amazing depth and diversity and enough spice to add an extra kick to the mix. Throw in 100% on point realism, raising the stakes with such graphic scenarios that are so colorfully descriptive and vividly detailed its like you're living it with them instead of on the sidelines, feeling everything the characters feel. Remarkable job Kelli, thanks for sharing this awesome little gem with us.
This is the first book I have read from Kelli Walker. I will definitely be looking for the next 2 books in the series to come out and I will also be going and looking into some of her other books as well.
This is the story of Ryan and Harley. Ryan and Harley were high school sweethearts. Ryan decided that when he went to New York, he didn’t want to ruin Harley’s chances of having the life she wanted. Basically, Ryan made a decision for both of them without communicating with Harley as to what she wanted. Ryan makes it big in New York and becomes a billionaire. Harley stayed in her hometown (Tyler) and has become a Bank Manager and has a small flower shop. 7 years after their “supposed” break up, Ryan returns to Tyler to see his mom before she passes. Of course Harley is hurt that Ryan broke her heart but neither one of them ever stopped loving the other. Will Ryan be able to convince Harley she is all he wants and will Harley be able to get past her heartbreak and forgive Ryan?
This story will definitely have you in your emotions. There is pain, confusion, passion, chemistry, heartache, surprises and of course a HEA! As I stated previously, I cannot wait to read Hollis’ and Andy’s stories. We were introduced to Ryan’s brothers and I am anxious to see if their characters are just as wonderful as Ryan.

Harley thought she had it all, and the bracelet to prove it, until Ryan pushed her away to attend college. He never came back and Harley healed her heart and learned to move on. Those wounds on her heart are ripped open again when Ryan comes back for his mother's funeral. After some well meaning meddling by her friend and his brothers, Harley and Ryan reconnect and start to rekindle things. Ryan decides he wants to buy property and share a life with Harley in the country. They are well on their way to making their bond permanent when Ryan has to go back to New York. He invites Harley along. She is ill their first night there and finds out she is pregnant. Ryan reacts badly and says the wrong things. Before she knows it, Harley is back home alone. Ryan keeps trying to get ahold of her but she is not responding to any calls or texts. Ryan finally realizes he did not communicate with Harley the way he thought he did. This book has lots of steamy scenes. Ryan finally figures out how to have Harley and the baby and his company.
*Spoiler* I was just disappointed that there wasn't more back story on the house. It was falling apart when they looked at it and then seemingly a couple weeks later it was all fixed up. We all know restoration of an old house takes more then a couple of weeks. The timeline was a little fuzzy there.

When childhood friends and high school sweethearts, Harley Andrews and Ryan Fleming exchanged tokens of their love and devotion—a watch and a bracelet—inscribed with the words, “Until The Sun Burns Away,” in the months before they were to leave for college, Harley never imagined that the sun would “burn away” very quickly.
When they had begun officially dating, it was clear that both families were pleased. The Flemings considered Harley as the daughter they never had. As the mother of 3 sons, Ryan’s mom, Janine, had embraced Harley as a daughter, enjoying “girls only” lunches. And when Janine was diagnosed with cancer, it was natural for Harley to accompany Janine for her treatments.
So, when 18-yr-old Ryan told her in the months before he was to leave for college in New York that they needed to separate—that he did not want her to join him in New York—it broke Harley’s heart. So she took his advice and she moved on with her life—she went to college; she started a career; she bought a house, and she enjoyed the company of other men. And, while her heart had been broken, it continued to beat, but it never beat for the love of another. And, while she thought of him every day, she did not see him until now, 8 years later, at his mom’s funeral.
Kelli Walker allows the reader to share the pain and joy of young love attempting to reconnect, recognizing that while life moves on, sometimes the heart doesn’t. Walker allows the reader to observe the tentative and wary former lovers reach out to explore the possibility of a second chance at love, ever fearful of once more coming short of hearing the hearts message at the same time. I enjoyed the sweet story of a second chance at love.

Second Time Around by Kelli Walker is the first in The Billionaire Brothers series. Ryan and Harley were high school sweethearts until he broke her heart and left her when he goes to college. Harley hasn't seen him in the eight years since but when Ryan returns to town to bury his mother, she can't help but see him again. While he is interested in catching up, she doesn't want to talk to him, she's afraid the heartache that follows. Eventually with the help of her friend and his brothers the two spend time together on the dance floor at the bar. Their chemistry is undeniable to them both.
The pull of his company in New York has him returning there and this time Harley goes with him but they encounter a bump in the road. Thinking he is doing the right thing for Harley, Ryan tells her to go home. Misunderstandings and heartbreak follow. This book does end happily.
The brothers in the series are all unique and fun. These brothers have a great "brotherly" relationship and their banter keep me smiling and remind me of my brothers. While the plot followed the "second chance romance formula," it is the characters that kept me reading. They felt true to life, like people I know and love. I can whole heartedly recommend this book
I did enjoy it, I thought it was well written and will look for further works by the author but I found the pace of the story didn’t really work for me. I thought that Harley forgave Ryan far too easily on every occasion and that they moved back into relationship status overnight with no real acknowledgment (other than random temper tantrums) of what happened and dealing with it. Even her family and friends seemed intent on pushing her back with no questions asked despite him walking away 8 years previously with no explanation leaving her heartbroken. Ryan’s billionaire playboy status was pretty much glossed over and almost no mention was made of it, he also came across at times as nervous and not knowing how to even speak to Harley never mind engage with people about business. Despite this there is a lovely hea.
Also - going to a bar, getting drunk (to the point you both have bad hangovers the following day) yet driving home...... managing to renovate a house in a week??

Wow just wow!!!!! This second chance romance will stay in my thoughts for a while....Ryan comes home for his mothers funeral and sees Harley his childhood friend and high school sweetheart after 8 years..... He remembers how he broke her heart and left her to go to New York...he still loves her and wants her back..... will she give him a second chance?....⚡SPOILER⚡which he actually bungles up brilliantly but manages to scrape himself and save their relationship by the skin of his teeth.
Omg i found myself shaking my head at Ryan.... Ryan may be a billionaire and successful business man but he is absolutely awful at voicing and expressing his thoughts and feelings to Harley that leads to misunderstandings of epic proportions.... I found myself chastising him and saying (more like screaming) "open your mouth and tell her what you really feel"....loudly a few times.....to hear my twin daughters giggling in the back ground and a comment from one of them " looks like that one isnt going to make book boyfriend of the year" I absolutely recommend this book one hundred and one percent....

This is a story that will tug at your heartstrings Ryan felt that he was making the right decision but he in fact caused a lot of pain
Ryan and Harley where schoolyard sweethearts but he pushed her away when he left to attend college he may have though the was doing the right thing but he never actually talked to Harley about what she wanted She stayed in their hometown and built a life for herself while he went on to become a billionaire in New York Now he has returned to their town for his mothers funeral and friends knowing that they still have feelings for one another start matchmaking. Is it a case of miscommunication yet again and will they sort it out this time You will have to read to see
I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.
Ryan is the oldest of his brothers. He is a computer nerd and to me, too caring about people with the wrong results. It seems only his mother really understood him. Harley is the girl he left behind. He supposedly did it trying to save her from hating him. With a job that keeps him from returning home, he and his father becomes estranged.
Coming back to town for his mother’s funeral, Ryan has an almost impossible task of winning Harley back. Circumstances with Ryan trying to protect Harley lead to another breakup that forces Ryan to do what he intended.
The interaction of the characters and their fragile relationship go a long way. I was amazed at how the parents were the ones to know how things truly were
Second chance to make it right – until the sun burns away! This book was loving but very touching as something sad happens which in turns makes Ryan return home. Harley and Ryan were sweethearts since kids and when he left her standing alone in the park, she was heartbroken to pieces than his parents tried their best to console her. The love they shared was never forgotten as Ryan never stop loving her, but he never thought she would love the fast pace of NYC, where he ended up being a billionaire on his own. Ryan makes mistakes after mistake after he promised her, he was not going to leave her anymore. The book also introduces a fairy tale location for their happily ever after which he makes sure she loves. Love to see what is next for either Hollis or Andy!

3.5 stars Mixed emotions. The two leads are unrealistic in my opinion. Harley in the beginning to be a sweet church attending good girl but get a little alcohol I to her and she’ll be the total opposite and get her in bed she’s the dirty talker while Ryan is the quite one.
Ryan seems in the beginning the corporate big man, the Boss but get him around Harley and he become a shy computer nerd, hungry for a girls attention. This all happened before the middle of the book, Not sure what’s to come but...
Unprotected sex, young minded man with at is bad with words, a friend that made up ideas that even I didn’t follow well to understand him, a woman that jumps to conclusions where even I don’t see why she got angry about. I felt some connection between the leads but I wasn’t sucked into this book.
Two Hearts Beating As One Again - Ryan broke Harley’s heart when he broke up with her before he left for college. Harley was hurt but continued to live her her life. When Ryan returns ten years later, he realises his mistake and wants Harley back. This is a story about seeking forgiveness, determination to fight for what you want and the strength of a young woman.
Kelli set the pace of how exciting the story would be at the beginning of the book and it held my attention all the way until the end. I guarantee you will not be able to put it down once you start reading it, so I suggest you make this book you next weekend relaxation guilty pleasure.

This started off really well, I'm a fan of second chance romances and it started off really well. I enjoyed the overall story however it was the MMC Ryan that let it down for me. Initially I liked him, but as the story progressed I found his interactions with Hayley very stiff and too controlled. The chemistry didn't flow as easily as It should have given the romance they had when they were younger. Don't get me wrong It worked when they met again for the first time, but after getting back together I expected their Chemistry to sizzle more and be more passionate. Overall it was a nice pleasant read but it just didn't blow me away.

When Ryan promised Harley that they would be together “Until The Sun Burns Away” she believed she had found the person she would spend the rest of her life with. When Ryan walks out of her life without a reason she is devastated. In the years they spend apart, neither are able to find a lasting love and then when Ryan comes home unexpectedly after his mother's death, he realizes what a mistake he made. Harley, having been hurt by him before is determined to keep her heart safe and protected this time but she is surprised at Ryan's persistence to win her back. A great second chance romance that will leave you breathless. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants a great read.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.

After reading this book I feel more confused than I was when I started. I was hopeful at first and was getting into the story but the story jumped soo much I felt like I was reading parts of a different book as things just didn't seem to mesh together and fill out the same story.
Ryan and Harley's story was a nice storyline and the characters seemed genuinely lovely and I immediately liked them both but near the end, I got completely lost as to who the characters were as it didn't seem as if the character I had read about throughout was the same as what was being portrayed in the end.
Even though it was a lovely storyline and a beautiful ending.

I had to stop reading this book very early on. This author is definitely not for me at all. Such an odd writing method, I just could not connect at all. The sex scenes were made to be crass but this was above and beyond. Reading it was awkward. There is a way to make crass sex scenes exciting to read but this author has zero clue how to get that done. It’s like I was reading raunchy tales from reformed prostitutes talking about their experiences with clients. The wording used was so strange, the focus during these scenes just so so odd. Anyway. I shut the book down and have crossed the author off my list of future reads. Yikes. A train wreck!
This book is seriously so freaking good!!the steamy scenes that Kelli writes are so hot you will need a cold shower. This story is so wonderfully written. Harley had her heart broken when her love Ryan left town. Now he’s back, under unfortunate circumstances, but he also wants to get her back. Their reunion scene is one of the hottest scenes I’ve ever read. So intimate with such a connection still existing between Harley and Ryan. This is not a smooth sailing second chance though because poor Ryan just can’t keep his foot out of his mouth long enough for his mind to catch up with his mouth. I really loved this book and I highly recommend it!

Get ready for your emotions to be tattered and torn! Ryan and Harley is told with a whole slew of emotions that will keep you on the edge throughout this read! There is drama suspense that will keep you entertained and grip your throat. I swear my voice is gone from the screaming I did at these two. I so enjoyed this story. The pull of emotions will gut you. So be prepared for the ultimate love. You know what they what does not kill you makes you stronger. Well this second chance is about to rough and rowdy. Come see what these characters have to offer you will not be sorry that you did!

Wariness and assumptions Second Time Around by Kelli Walker is an enjoyable second chance romance. Harley and Ryan are miscommunication personified and it was interested reading their attempts as reconnecting and learning one another all over again. The plot was intriguing from a character development perspective and it was satisfying in the end. Overall, this steamy, second chance romance navigates the wariness, assumptions and miscommunications with a few bumps in the road, but successfully none the less for a fantastic HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily sharing my review.
This is a wholesome romance story about Harley and Ryan. It’s a small town romance and about second chances. Ryan broke Harleys heart when they were younger to be successful and to leave town. Through a couple of misunderstandings and some other twists you end up at a HEA. I really enjoyed this book , it’s a wonderful thing to read if you want to escape the world for a bit. A good afternoon read or if you can’t sleep at night.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is a second chance romance between Ryan and Harley. Childhood friends and sweethearts are pulled apart. Ryan is back in town and seeing each other was inevitable. Their chemistry is still a strong as ever. This story is full of heartbreak but these two find their way back where they belong. I enjoyed the story and the characters.

Years ago Harley's heart was broken by her high school sweetheart Ryan as he made the move from their hometown to New York for college. A heart that has never fully repaired and whilst she hasn't seen him since he left her in the park that day. She is not sure how she will handle him being home following his mother's death.
Ryan pursued his tech dreams and co-owners a multi-million dollar company in New York. But there has always been something missing from his life - Harley. Giving her up all those years ago he thought he was doing the right thing. Unconvinced that they would have lasted in New York together. Seeing her again his heart aches for her and hopes to win her back again.
Initially rebuffing his offer to get together, her best friend and his brothers conspire against them and get them together during a night out. Where the alcohol is flowing and some dirty dancing, leading them to head back to his hotel room. With miscommunications, presumptions and past hurts get in the way, are they able to make it the second time around?
Good romance, a little too melancholy at first. I hesitated on my rate because the story is very well written, very tender, but it is also a rather sad second chance at the start, which starts badly for Harley and Ryan who loved each other but separated 7 years ago by the Ryan's hard-to-forgive action. The sad side, the melancholy, weighs on the beginning of the story. Fortunately, the romantic part then takes over. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
This is a story about getting a second chance at love. However this was not a story I got into. I did not connect with the characters, they were not very well described and his they were portrayed made them both unsympatetic and not very relatable. They were to insecure and to quick to jump to conclutions withouth listening to each other.

Second time around is a good second chance story. Ryan and Harley dated in high school. Then Ryan decided to move and Broke up with Harley. Leaving her behind heart broken. Ryan has stayed gone until his mom passes away and he comes back for her funeral. And decides that he wants to work things out with Harley. She isn’t receptive. The story had humor, angst, and a hea. I loved Ryan’s brothers and hope they get a story next.
A captivating and well written second chance romance with a strong storyline guaranteed to keep you interested until the very end. It is an emotionally deep read, witty, relatable, heartwarming, and will have you rooting for Harley and Ryan, whose passion is very intense and off the charts. Definitely recommended!

This is a great second chance read. Harley was heartbroken when Ryan left years ago and hasn't really got over him. He is back in town but can she forgive him and trust him or will he break her heart again. Their chemistry is off the charts but when he has to go back to New York will she lose him again. Brilliant ending.
