Miss Kitty Farrow is under no illusion that her guardian cares anything about her, but when she finds out he wagered her in a gentleman's bet, she's in a state of complete shock. Not only has her choice in picking her own husband been taken away from her, but the earl her guardian is going to have her marry hates the very idea of having a wife at all.
Aaron Henry, Earl of Northton, doesn't trust ladies. Any of them. From a young age, his mother taught him that all a lady is good for is an heir. If they're sweet, it's only to trick the gentleman into doing what they want, and once they get it, they're on to the next gentleman. So when he discovers the money he expected to win in a wager turns out to be the dowry of his future bride, he wants nothing to do with her.
But whether Kitty or Aaron want the marriage or not, it's going to happen. And heaven help anyone who tries to make the marriage a love match.
What's to say? I write a lot. I read often. I sleep little. Once in awhile, I've been known to clean the house. A number of kids live in my house and there's this guy they call dad and I call husband. All in all, it's a pretty good life. :-)
This was kind of frustrating, then funny, and ultimately happy. It ticked all my RAN boxes: . This author is my go-to for a funny, easy, safe, and sweet read.
I wasn’t expecting the strength of emotion that this story brought on. Aaron is positive that ALL women are jumping from one man’s bed to another. His allegations and beliefs are beyond ludicrous. More often than not, I was infuriated at his declarations and behavior. I expected there to a bit of backbone to Kitty after her previous appearances but instead, she acted like a doormat. When she started giving Aaron the same ‘rules’ as she was required to live under I began to see the woman I’d expected. Once she has had enough and takes life-altering steps, I was surprised by Aaron’s reactions. He earned my admiration when finally proves to be a man worthy of his wife by facing her brother, admitting his mistakes, and making reparations. Aaron and Kitty are quite the pair once they have things figured out. I liked how they supported and admired each other. The look into their future was lovely.
Aaron- titled, distrust/ no respect for ladies Kitty- doesn't want a marriage , she is done with being under a man's rule namely her selfish and deceitful brother . I enjoyed reading this captivating story that is well written with charismatic characters. She maybe a wallflower but she can give as good as she gets especially with help from her friends. I also enjoyed reading the sub characters story as well. Their story has a loving and wonderful HEA!
Mannnn, I loved this one!! I absolutely loved the vibe of this hero-he had that old-school harlequin asshole hero thing going on—without being a manwhore! Yassss please! The hero is extremely suspicious and distrustful of women due to his mother’s betrayal and he plans on getting an heir off the heroine and then washing his hands of her. The heroine doesn’t take this sitting down and hits back in a creative—if totally unbelievable—way. The plot is a tad crazy and one has to suspend a bit of disbelief, but it’s worth it. The story is funny and engaging and I loved how the heroine was able to climb the hero’s walls and conquer his cold heart
Safe. Dual virgins, no others, no cheating or abuse. HEA with epilogue
I so wanted to like this one...but the way the author progressed the story was just too far'fetched
are we really supposed to believe that the husband would accept being chaperoned? it was such an unrealistic element that it ruined eveything that came after
his change was also incredibly rushed and plainly unsatisfying .... their relationship is quickly fixed and the hea comes right after when the end came I was just disappointed
this plot is a disservice to the author's writing skills
Kitty didn't want to be married but her bother lost a bet to Arond. Arond didn't want to have anything to do with ladys. He thought them like his mother. Arond goes thur the marriage but hire a chapone for his new wife. Spakes fly for the couple.
Kitty is a dutiful wallflower going from a brother who despised her to a man who won her dowry in a bet. Despite having good friends Aaron is a hateful stubborn man. This is a mild trigger for mental abuse. Eventually Aaron smartens up and gets sexy time with a HEA.
A man who does not trust any woman, and a woman who does not want to be married. They make the perfect couple. Aaron wins a bet and wins a vertical as well. Lord Holloway said if Lord Northton wanted the money he won, he had to marry Kitty Farrow, Lord Holloway 's sister. Ruth Ann Nordin takes you on a hilarious journey with both Aaron and Kitty having chaperones who never leave their sides. Read this book, and you will not be disappointed. Happy reading! 😊
