Dane, Last Five Seconds’ drummer, is the “quiet” one. It’s not just because his bandmates are boisterous and love sucking up the limelight.
It’s part of who he is, where he comes from. But he’s determined to break free from the chains of his past.
When it catches up to him, his comfortable world shatters, leaving him with an injured back and an inability to perform his work onstage. To get back on the road as soon as possible, he undergoes physical therapy to aid with his recovery.
Enter Charlie. As his physical therapist, she’s a hell of a caregiver, but she’s also feisty. Sometimes she’s abrupt. And snappy. And downright rude. And, like Dane, she’s got a few hidden scars.
But Dane sees something inside her, something that speaks to him. Although Charlie holds him at arm’s length, even after he’s no longer her patient, Dane is finally able to penetrate her armor. While his scars have never fully healed, hers go even deeper.
As they work through their pasts together, Dane is convinced it will make them stronger, but can they ever move beyond their insecurities and hang ups enough to trust each other…or are they destined to be alone?
Jade C. Jamison writes steamy contemporary romance that’s full of heat, heartbreak, and hard rock. Known for emotionally raw rockstar romances, sizzling billionaire stories, and unforgettable second chances, Jade delivers passionate stories with fierce heroines and brooding heroes.

Whilst Dane is part of a well known band, I loved how this wasn't all about him being a muso, focusing instead on how damage done in childhood can still impact us as an adult. It also allowed us to see both main characters grow as individuals.
Both Dane and Charlie have issues, particularly around self-worth and self-esteem. Whilst Dane's loving family has kept him fairly sociable, if a little wary of new people, Charlie really doesn't relate well to people, and struggles to let others in. Naturally this leads to a few ups and downs in relationship terms, particularly as they both struggle to be open and vulnerable with one another. Whilst an honest conversation would have avoided some of the trouble that beset them, it wouldn't have fitted with how they were written.
I did find Charlie a little difficult to connect to at first, which wasn't surprising as she's a very guarded individual, which the author portrayed perfectly. However, as she opened up to Dane, and as we learnt more of her life, I gradually came to understand her quickly finding myself as enamoured of her as I was with Dane. I did want to smack Dane around the head when he sent Charlie that text, but other than that the guy was pretty amazing. A strong male without being overbearing or too alpha.
The prose flowed smoothly, making this a really easy to read story, the plot felt totally believable and the pace was perfect for holding my attention. I really enjoyed the story, reading it felt effortless and I quickly found myself immersed in it. Perhaps I would have liked just a little more internal monologue, a little more self reflection by both characters on their decisions and choices. The book didn't necessarily need that though, it would totally come under the remit of "personal preference".
Inferno can totally be read as a stand alone story, and carefully avoids spoilers for other books in the series. It's a dual point of view book, written in first person and one that I am more than happy to recommend.
Dane is the drummer for LFS and he is dealing with his childhood demons as they come crashing back into his life. At a concert toward the end of this leg of touring he falls off the stage and injuries his back. He didn’t know it then but what a blessing in disguise it was when he meets his physical therapist, Charlie. She has no idea who Dane is which surprises him and makes her all the more interesting. Charlie has her own childhood issues she is dealing with which could stop anything that may transpire with Dane. She just has to figure out if he’s worth putting herself out there.
Who says that your childhood can linger from your past into your present and future? They are both dealing with this but its Dane who builds Charlie up and with the way things are going but will this also push her away from him? I loved the not so perfect people finding a way to build a future after many struggles.
I am thrilled that we have another great rock romance from Ms. Jamison and it was so worth the wait. I can’t wait for more to come.
A sweetly heartbreaking romance “Inferno” is a tale of two broken, scarred people who together become whole. This is Dane and Charlie’s story. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review
It has been forevvveerrrr since we have been in Feverish world, but it was just like meeting up with a best friend after years of not seeing each other.
LFS's drummer Dane was a great way to dive back into this world. I liked that he is the quiet one, the one alwasy watching, in life and from the back of the stage behind his drums.
He is so not the sex and drugs and rock and roll type these days, and you know it is going to be sweet when he finds the one that brings him to his knees. And Charlie is jsut that. She doesn't take any of his crap, she won't let anyone walk all over her, and she's his perfect.
I liked that there wasn't anything OTT, no stupid drama and the like. There was someone that I thought might be one to start drama, but I liked how it was dealt with.
Most of all, though, I loved seeing more of my favourite JCJ man, Clay. Now I need to go back and read his story again, as I hadn't realised how much I had missed them.
I can't wait for more. I need Brian's story, STAT!
I think I’m in love with Dane Furman. Okay, I know he’s a fictional character, but omg, he is just the sweetest thing. I love how he practices meditation and the daily practice of gratitude to help him to forgive those who hurt him in the past. It’s odd to imagine someone like him as the drummer for a heavy metal band, proving I’ve totally bought in to the stereotypes.
The story starts with Dane being distraught and drinking way too much prior to a show as a way of coping with his feelings. I love this description of what happens as a result: “Unfortunately, by the fourth song, he felt like he was going to puke all over. Twice, he turned his head one way and then the other, trying to decide if it would be better to vomit toward the big fan (which guaranteed he’d get in on him) or toward the other side where he wouldn’t be able to avoid hitting a drum.” Now, that’s something I would have never considered as something a drummer might need to contemplate.
Charlie is hard to like, although the reader is privy to some of her internal thoughts, and therefore, understands that she actually cares about people. I don’t think her back story was explored sufficiently to explain her reluctance to date anyone, but I think this comment about someone she’d dated in the past went some way toward justifying her hesitancy: “While the guy had turned out to be a major asshole, who’d broken both her hymen and her heart…” At first, I had trouble imagining what Dane saw in her, but it turns out, he was right.
The challenges they face are not entirely predictable. Of course, there are insecurities that play into their fears of rejection, but there are also other players working to thwart their happiness (although they may not necessarily view it that way). Ultimately, the actions taken by Dane and Charlie surprised me, but I don’t want to spoil anything so I won’t say more than that. Of course, it’s an HEA, told from alternating POVs in third-person. And thanks to the author for an ARC. I really need to remember to say this more often.
Inferno, Feverish Book 3 by Jade Jamison I received this book from the author for an honest review. STAHP!!! They are back!! The LFS guys are back!!!! I am so excited. Its been FOREVAH since we got to see the guys…..Clay and Emily are good. Sam and Grace are planning the wedding. Brian is dealing with his divorce and then there is quiet Dane. Dane has always been a little on the quiet side and this book we get to know him and why he is so “shy”. Childhood bullies leave a mark on our sweet Dane. After reconnecting with one he gets a bit stupid and overly drunk which causes him to hurt his back. Off to Physical Therapy he goes. Except falling for his therapist isn’t what he should be doing. Charlie is a mess. This girl lives with scars and trauma that no one should be able to recover from and yet here she is rocking her façade of a happy life. She feels some ways about Dane but pushes and pushes and pushes him away. When Dane kinda stalkery but not really stalkery but yet stalkery finds her and asks her out they seem to click. Both, however, have crazy low confidence and read the wrong vibe the other throws out at times which makes things hella mess. I’m telling ya they are the perfect match for the other but they kinda step on their own toes at times. Charlie is petrified of love but Dane’s light just crumbles her walls. Dane is so in love with Charlie and yet he reads things she does the wrong way which makes him feel less than. Gah, these two!! Seriously they have all the chemistry and all the love but also all the fear when you go all in with someone. I loved the story and seriously this makes me want to do a reread to remember the awesome story of Clay and Sam but then I gotta go back to Brad/Val/Ethan since that is where we met this ban of awesomeness!!
I love how this author brings us into the world of her characters (whether it be rockers or artists or stealthy reporters) and makes you feel as if you are a part of their world. I like being the fly on the wall of a tour bus, or backstage at a concert or more fun yet, inside the hotel room of a badboy rocker after a show. When Dane has a major fall from grace, (both literally and figuratively) he needs the determined and dedicated Charlie to help him get through it and fight off his demons. Of course she has many of her own, but together they manage to find a way to a happier end. Their journey is what Inferno is really about...less graphic and more sensitive than previous books (Bullet series) but just as satisfying and enjoyable. So happy to get back into the music/touring world this author has created, since it's been a hot minute since we've seen these characters. Loved it!
***** 5 ***** "when the music and love isn't enough" stars
I received a copy of this book for an honest review. I so thrilled to have Last Five Seconds back. I mean really, I get to see Clay/Jet again *sigh*. Ok I know let’s get back to Dane. Dane is our quite shy drummer. Dane is dealing with demons from his childhood when he falls off the stage at a concert. He has to have therapy where he meets Charlie. Charlie has no idea who Dane is and Dane is intrigued by her. Once Dane is back on his feet, he seeks out Charlie. Dane had a bit of stalker in him for this…lol. Charlie has her own issues she is dealing with. While Dane is pursuing Charlie, she has to decide if he is worth chipping away at the wall she built to protect herself. I loved Dane but Charlie took a bit to get used to. These two had chemistry but man it took a while for them to get it together. I so enjoyed watching Dane and Charlies story evolve. I also realized how much I missed my man Jet.
It's Jade C Jamison and Last Five Seconds... it's pretty much impossible to go wrong with a combination like that! While Jet/Clay will probably always be my favorite BBF, Dane and Charlie were unputdownable! Seriously loved most everything about their journey and can't wait to see what Brian does post-Kyle. And maybe another Jet book one of these days! 😘. Very seriously, Jade is one of the queens of rockstar romance, and I have never been disappointed by any release of hers. Inferno fits the mold perfectly.
I enjoyed Dane and Charlie’s story. When they met, Charlie had no idea Dane was a rockstar in a successful band. They had instant chemistry but was it enough to consider a relationship when they both struggle with so much from their past? I enjoyed as they both told their side of the story. It was not easy, but in the end it was well worth how they ended up.
Dane is a hot drummer with a secret. Charlie is a physical therapist with a past. Trust is a hard commodity to come by but to move forward trust is a requirement. Join the journey as this couple overcomes their trials and work together to get their HEA. 5 stars!
INFERNO is the fourth book in the Feverish series. Each book in the series will stand on its own, but you'll appreciate it more if you've read other books in the series (and you'll REALLY love it if you've read the Vagabonds trilogy).
I love the meme that says “One day someone is going to hug you so tight that all of your broken pieces will stick back together.” Dane and Charlie are the embodiment of that sentiment. I don’t really think I need to say anything more to tell you what I feel about this story.
Read it. Have a box of tissues handy. Love Dane and Charlie as much as I do. That is all.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.
Title: INFERNO Series: Feverish #3 Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content Grammar/editing: received as an unedited ARC / errors excused Received from: Jade C. Jamison
Loved This Inferno! Dane may be a rock star, but underneath he is quiet and sweet. He is ready to settle down and become a one woman man and when he meets Charlie he decides he wants her to be that woman. Charlie pushes him away but Dane is willing to take it slow and wait for Charlie to develop the same feelings he has. This is well-written sizzling hot romance with depth and soul searching. Loved catching up on Clay and Sam as well and cannot wait to read Brian’s story next. I received a copy of this book from the author in return for voluntarily writing an honest review.
Dane, sweet, shy Dane. Loved him. When he meets Charlie, things click. Theirs is a sweet journey into love, each so supportive of the other. Each having scars from their past to overcome. Each helping the other through.
The story of Dane and Charlie took me on a path I loved and was familiar with, so it was intense. I love how he came to terms with his “hidden” disability and how Charlie opened up about her past. It’s great to read a rockstar romance that’s so real!
Dane and Charlie have each had reasons in the past to be standoffish with others. Both of them take a while to really open up to the other one. Charlie does come across as abrasive and kind of a whiner in the beginning. I had a hard time figuring her out. She pushed him away quite a bit. Neither one of them are exactly teeny-boppers so it got old quick. I did like how Dane didn't give up and went for it. Both did seem to let their insecurities run their lives and it was nice to see them both moving forward from that. Was hoping for more of them together instead of just a snippet.
Dane is a sweetheart which isn’t usually the description you’d give to a heavy metal drummer! He is not your typical, egotistical one either. Dane was traumatized throughout his childhood by bullies at school, one in particular. Charlotte, aka Charlie, also had a traumatic childhood which ultimately scarred her. Her trauma, however, was her Grandmother who was mean in the worst way...a verbal bully. That the two of them met and instantly connected. Well, instant for Dane! He had to work on Charlie. Their relationship was very up and down, bred mainly by each other’s insecurities.
This was not a sweet romance...and yet, it was! You’ll just have to fall for these characters like I did.
Inferno is the third installment of the Feverish series, and I loved it even more than the first 2!!!
Dane, the bands drummer, hurts his back and requires PT. He meets his physical therapist, Charlie, and is instantly drawn to her, but she turns his advances down. But that doesn't stop Dane... he keeps trying to get thru her walls cause he knows that she is something special.
They are both damaged from their childhood and have had trouble keeping relationships. Is Charlie willing to open herself up to Dane to find love? You'll have to read to find out!!
I loved this book and wholeheartedly recommend it!!
All the sizzle and heat you would expect in this inferno.
Another great read from Jade C Jamison. In Inferno, the storyline centers around Dane, the drummer and quiet member of Last Five Seconds. Being a famous rock star would lead one to believe that life would be perfect but that is not the case for Dane, where one night, everything changes for him resulting in an accident and where Charlie and physiotherapist enters his life. Both are going through a turbulent time and their smoldering attraction constantly sizzles.
This is a fantastic and endearing page turner, filled with great characters, sexy and sweet dialogue, and sizzling heat as Dane and Charlie find not only themselves but what they mean to each other. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!!
This story was absolutely amazing, and Dane and Charlie completely stole my heart. Dane is the drummer for LFS and after a fall he meets Charlie a physical therapist. The chemistry is off the charts, but it doesn't make their story any easier. Both had a bad childhood that has left some deep emotional scars. I won't get into the actual details because it's something you just NEED to read and feel for yourself. Watching these two come together had my kindle on fire, then watching the overcome their fears had me in tears. If you are looking for something steamy, had all the feels, and low angst then grab this right now!!! Like seriously right now! I promise you won't be disappointed.
