Guy Haley is the author of over 50 novels and novellas. His original fiction includes Crash, Champion of Mars, and the Richards and Klein, Dreaming Cities, and the Gates of the World series (as K M McKinley). However, he is best known as a prolific contributor to Games Workshop's Black Library imprint.
When not writing, he'll be out doing something dangerous in the wild, learning languages or gaming.
Given that this is the content of a literary Advent Calender, the story is good, en exciting slice of life of two priests in their work of blessing the living and banishing the daemonspawn of the warp.
But as a short story, I can't advice buying it. Nearly half the book is an extract from Dark Imperium, because this is supposed to be a prequel. But aside from happening chronologically before the time of Dark Imperium, we learn next to nothing of relevance to the saga. Aside from one little detail of fluff and trivia, perhaps, but I avoid spoilers.
Very short story. By halfway into the book the story ended and the other half was a sample for the dark imperium book. The story was a good old fashioned exorcism which was great. We saw more blessings of the emperor which means into the argument of him being a god.
