Deep-sea diver left for dead. A speechless siren finds him on the deserted strand. A guy who battles sharks, near drowning, and oozes danger. Eric García The waves of fate tossed him up on the shores of my solitude, and for the first time since the collision, I feel safe. A man who swims in the ocean depths, fearing nothing. Mentally and physically fit. He wants me to talk again. Why would he understand that I’ve stayed protected from the heartlessness of humans only by remaining here on the abandoned shore of the Pacific Ocean? Hiding. Silent. He’s rough. Bold. And insists that I call him “daddy”. But how can I when a horrible incident took my words away forever? Beneath the steely surface lies a devoted and gentle heart that I don’t want to disappoint - one that needs to claim me as his.
No way am I going back to village with him so he can spoil me like he says I deserve. Even though his firm hand and punishments make me squirm, in a good way, this won’t work. I’m an unusual girl, twenty years his junior, who earns her living selling shellfish. The laughingstock of Briarville. Eric doesn’t know about the deal I sealed for my aunt’s silence - an arrangement I’d ruin by showing my face in town. His kisses set off a sharp, wild need in me, and I hope that mine tell him without speech that I love him. He demands that I’m his. But I realize this desire burning between us won’t survive the ugly that flourishes where the people are. From Amazon Best Seller: Olivia Fox comes this age gap, alpha romance. I don't like quitting, so I really tried. But my BS meter is running too high. DNF at 58% Not my cup of tea. Retelling of the little mermaid with amateurish smudge scenes. Eric's dirty talk is anything but; it's just creepy! So, up to the next book on my TBR. May it be better than this one!
This has been a wonderful read; the story holds you from start to finish A diver had been left on the side for dead and he is somewhat mystified as to who the beautiful young woman is that had appeared out of no where as was doing everything possible to help him recover from his injuries. The man wants to help her but does not understand that she has stayed in hiding out of choice and she has no wish to appear back in the public eye as it would not be safe, he is a rough and hardened character that wants her to allow him to care for her every need, to call him “Daddy” but she has no voice the occurrence all those years before stole her of her speech. He wants her to leave the isolated hut she has made her home but she wants to stay isolated in the secret place where she believes that she is safe and sound, he knows better however? Eric has made it quite clear that he considers her his but she has to try and impart to him how essential it is she remains secreted, her aunt’s safety is reliant on it but she has to do this with no spoken voice, so she uses the only thing she has her love and her kisses and trust in his understanding.
This is a wonderful read full of twists and turns, once you begin reading it is impossible to put this great read down. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
First chapter and she already have these all "carnal desire" while Harvesting the phallic-shaped, gooseneck barnackle.
I dont know which part of the blurb made me think she live in deserted island when in fact she only live by the ocean not far from the nearest town. So, yeah me and my too much expectation just got booo.
I love smut. Dont get me wrong. The blurb with promise of darker retelling of Little Mermaid, the charachters even named Eric and Ariella, strike my match on the insta. I expect lots of smutty times and insta luv. But i expect chemistry also and its sorely lacking here. For (not yet? Or yet? I cant remember) 20% in and they already done the steamy. And i'm sorry to say, Eric lines are not dirty. Its kinda creepy actually. And Ariella looks like a thirsty virgin. I keep reading though. Hoping for more. And got more steamy. I actually can enjoy it only in the 40% ish. Although the chemistry still feel shallow. And for me, even in smut or insta luv, chemistry in number one. The plot feel weak. The way Eric handle the perp who attacked him, who is also Ariella's rapey cousin, at this point feel childish. So nope. Just not my tea to continue. DNF in 50%

I was surprisingly disappointed. The book started out with finding Eric on the beach and I really thought it was going to go in another direction. I expected more story about the who, how, and why. I figured Ariella would somehow be tied into the mystery. She was, in a sense.
I don't mind a steamy book. I am not offended by sex. I didnt care about the age Gap. This book was just one sex scene after another, and it was boring. I thought there would be a bit more story interspersed with the sex scenes. I have read this writer's work before, and it never hit me this way.
It was too much for me. It evoked no feeling. I ended up skimming through the sex trying to get to the story. I read it all the way to the to the HEA. I was surprised when the person that had affected Eric and Ariella's life so profoundly turned up the way he did. I was hoping for more detailed information about that situation.
Also, I missed it. What was the fairy tale?
Anyway, I would recommend you read it and judge for yourself. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received via Booksprout.
I loved and enjoyed parts of this story. The little mermaid concept was not obvious, but the scorching, steamy relationship between Ariella and Eric was very obvious. Eric washes up on the beach where Ariella is harvesting gooseneck barnacles and muscles from the very cold ocean. She lives with her dog, Sasha on a deserted part of the beach and cannot talk. She manages to get Eric out of the water and up onto the beach and starts a fire to warm him up since he is too big for her to drag to the cabin. The parts I enjoyed most in the story are the descriptions of the beach and Ariella's harvesting process as well as her different methods of communicating with her dog and the mail lady who comes by every day to take the harvest to town. Unfortunately, there was a lot of repetition and the story was kind of one dimensional.

I liked this story a lot. It was entertaining and enjoyable with a few scenes that are exceptions. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. I really wanted Jason to end up in jail, but the way he ended up would probably be worse in his opinion. Peggy and Belinda were great friends for Ariella. Ariella amazed me. She was so sweet and didn't seem bitter at all over all of the things that she'd had to deal with in her life, even though the trauma from them had left her unable to talk. Eric was alpha but also totally capable of being sweet and cuddly. Their relationship was passionate, sometimes sweet, and worked well for both of them. I liked their happy ever after. I recommend reading this book.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is a modern twist on the Little Mermaid fairytale. Arielle is a young woman who lives by the sea. She has lost her voice due to tragedy. Eric is a deep sea diver that she takes care of after he washed up on her shores. He is a Daddy and everything tells him that she is the Little that he needs in his life. Although he does not yet understand fully her story, he will not give her up. She wishes that she could be with this man who makes her feel so safe and cared for. There are forces determined in keeping her in her place. Eric is not giving up on her because a Daddy always cares for and protects his little girl. This was another great addition to this series

Ariella makes her living by the sea. The sea where she was banished by her aunt to live in her cottage alone. That's okay because something that happened in her past is why she doesn't talk anymore. Then one day she saves a deep-sea diver who was betrayed by the people he worked for. Eric is big and beautiful and older and he's a Daddy. He knows almost immediately that he wants Ariella to be his little girl. His dominance and punishments make her want more. Eric wants to help her get back into the world, but maybe Ariella doesn't want to be fixed. Going into town would be a huge mistake she just knows it.

This is a retelling of "The Little Mermaid." Ariella somehow is mute and has stayed that way voluntarily. She had made an arrangement with her aunt's silence by not going into town. Eric is a deep sea diver that ends up being betrayed and ends up washing up on the shore where Ariella lives. He is a daddy and just knows that Ariella is his "little." Ariella has had her bottom spanked already for her misbehavior and she totally enjoys it. His kisses set off a wild need in Ariella. You have to find out if she ever goes into town and confronts the person who raped her and attacks Eric. Can the age difference in these two hurt their relationship? This is a steamy, dark story. Oh, the heat is HOT, there were some "oh no" "oh wow" " what the what" moments and add in uncanny mishaps, and shenanigans the good kind that makes you keep turning the pages till last page has been turned. It is a little different but not in a bad way a little lacking in the chemistry department at the beginning but still a good read. Ariella can not talk she lost her voice and she is banished by her family to live on her own in a cabin by the sea. Eric works for a group of people who decided to try and kill him and of course he saved by Ariella. She brings out the daddy in him and he wants her to live a normal life with him as her daddy and protector but will it all backfire, what happened to Ariella’s voice and will they find happiness?
Ariella lives by herself in a cottage by the sea when she stumbles with a man that washed ashore.
Eric is a deep sea diver working for a company oil that was jumped by some guys wanting to get rid of him in order to avoid disrupting the company's plan.
Eric is 100% Daddy that wants to take care of Ariella after she brings him back to health. Ariella can't speak due to childhood trauma and Eric wants to help her.
The story was compelling, not much of a Little Mermaid retalling if you ask me, but it was good to see the focus to mental health and dealing with trauma.
The smexy scenes were H-O-T 🔥🔥, but some of them were kind of unnecessary to the story. The climax of the plot (the main villains) fell to the background and everything was "resolved" in the epilogue as an offhand comment.
Olivia Fox has done it again. In this story she captures you right from the beginning. You don’t have to wait to get into the book to realize that something special was about to happen. Eric works with oil company, a man of many talents. He is beaten and thrown into the ocean. Ariella is not from the right side of society, when a thematic experience leaves her without a voice. I don’t want to give too much away but they both need saving. As with any book by Olivia Fox you just can’t put it down. She has yet to let me down, promise you will enjoy it. If you love Daddy Dom then this is the book for you.

This retelling involves a siren with no voice and a handsome older man who washes up on her shores. When Ariella saves Eric and helps brings him back from the brink of death, this Daddy knows that he will do anything to help his little siren find her voice again.
It's a steamy and dark retelling that may have some triggers for some people. There are other characters that help support the main characters that I hope will get their own stories as the author created unique personalities for some of them. It was a fun book.

Ariella, a lonely girl who earns her living selling shellfish, finds Eric Garcia, an older hardened man, washed up on the shore and nurses him back to health. Eric wants to pamper her and have her call him “Daddy” but there is one problem. Ariella doesn’t speak due to a traumatic incident and feels safe in the isolated hut she has made her home. Can he persuade her to trust him and leave her isolated home? Can love really find a way when there are so many obstacles not least a twenty year age gap? Another excellent story from Olivia Fox in her Dirty Fairy Tales series.

Airella was traumatised as a child and has not spoken since. She lives alone by the sea. She comes across a man washed up by the sea - still alive she drags him up the shore to safety. Eric was beaten and tossed off an oil rig. He is old enough to know better but he is smitten by this young siren. Together they rescue each other. He wants to stop others being hurt and for Airella to reclaim her life. She is his rock and purpose in life. This is one hot book. Strong characters and a compelling plot. Totally loved it.

The story revolves around a young woman who has lost her voice after a traumatic experience and the man she rescues from the ocean after he is left for dead. As Eric recovers, he is intrigued by Ariella and the longer they are together the attraction becomes mutual and soon the relationship becomes sexuaI. I enjoyed the story as it is well written and the main characters are great together. There is a lot more to the story which makes it a great read. I would highly recommend it. This is a new author to me-I read the blurb & was intrigued by the author's take on The Little Mermaid. Ariella has had a trauma and now has selective mutism. Ariella is only 20, and she rescues 45 year old Eric from the sea. This book had plenty of steamy Daddy scenes-did I mention *lots* and *steamy*? There's a bit of plot to push those scenes along but this is really about a girl who meets her forever Daddy. It's an age gap story with an alpha Daddy and his submissive siren. Quick, fun read.
I received a copy of this book. My honest opinion is voluntarily provided.
Thought I’d like this modern retelling of the little mermaid more that I did. Ariella sustained selective mutism after trauma at the hand of her cousin and Aunt. I liked that she was strong and resilient as she made a life for herself alone for three long years before she found Eric beaten and washed up on her shore. Tons of graphic scenes between this age gap couple (Eric’s forty five to Ariella’s twenty) that ended with a HEA for them.

Another excellent offering from Olivia Fox, her retelling of classic fairy tales with a steamy twist are extremely entertaining reading. Ariella and Eric's story is no exception ~ Ariella, the selective mute who lives by the sea and Eric, the much older deep sea diver complement and complete each other. With more steam than a spa treatment and enough kink to ensure your panties will be damp plus a happy ever after ~ what more could you want??
I'm voluntarily posting this review after receiving this book as an ARC from the author.
I have read several "adult fairy-tales". Most have been based off of Cinderella. This is the first based off of the Little Mermaid. Ms. Fox did a wonderful job of translating the children's characters into full fledged adults. Adults that like it a little kinky! Without giving away a spoiler, I will let you know that the reason for Ariella's selective mutism is something that would destroy anyone.

Arielle couldn't believe her eyes when she found Eric half drowned and beaten up on the beach. He made her feel things that she thought she'd never feel because of her past. Eric wakes up on the beach to a silent mermaid from a fairy tale and is enchanted by her. All he wants is to love and protect her, but can he give her her voice back too? Love the characters, great world building, love the romance and the eroticism. A great read.

I forgot why I stopped reading fairy tails but if they had been like this one, I definitely would have continued. Very steamy storyline between a girl, Ariella who has been regulated to a life by herself near the sea. When she rescues Eric after he washes up on her beach, she definitely finds that she is no longer lonely. Eric/Daddy introduces Ariella to her hidden sexual needs but there are some twists, dangers and surprises that kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
This is a little mermaid spin. Ariella lives by the shore with her dog Sasha. She has had some trauma in her life and because of that does not speak. Eric washes up on shore one day and Ariella helps him. Erik wants to protect and love Ariella and be her daddy. There is an age gap and there is steam, which I am good with. The relationships starts out and people come into play. I though it was a good story and I enjoyed the characters.

Wow this dirty fairy tale is NAUGHTY! This is a retelling of little mermaid with Eric being an oil rig diver and Ariella being a beautiful girl with selective mutism. After Eric is attacked on the rig and washes up on shore, Ariella saves him. Once he’s healthy she finds out the Dom Daddy that he wants to be to here and the very naughty times begin. This book is full of steamy scenes but also have a story that is interesting.

When this book said... dirty... they didn't falter. I mean Olivia Fox can write. I highlighted a line from this text on my kindle... entranced by the words.
My thoughts were on penises. It never failed. Harvesting the phallic-shaped, gooseneck barnacles always brought male genitalia to mind.
Like where do you come up with something like that? Regardless did I ever think of Little Mermaid in a age-gap romance. With a bit of a BDSM twist?
Shakespeare’s insult kit, phallic-shaped, gooseneck barnacles and Virasana with vibrator for the win!!
ABSOLUTLY loved this book! From the first paragraph to the last I was hooked and feeling it! Olivia once again brought the sweet, heat, romance, and all the juicy bits to the party! Can't wait to read the next one, and Eric has definitely become my newest book boyfriend! Oh Daddy!

This was a rather naughty read but I loved the plot behind all the naughtiness. The plot really had some twists and turns to it making me enjoy reading it quite a bit. The characters were great and stayed true to who they were throughout the story.
I give this a four out of five stars. The plot was great and the characters were fantastic.

I have had the wonderful privilege of reading this ARC book. I was captivated from the beginning with these two characters. Eric and Arielle both had something traumatic happen to them. Getting through difficult events in life brought them closer together. However, in order to truly heal, will that tear them apart? Olivia Fox has, once again, given us an adult fairy tale with a dirty yet soul satisfying twist that I could not put down.

I enjoyed this tale, almost a page turner. The characters are rich and together, combustible. A diver tossed into the sea and the girl who has been cast away. It's a lovely, sexy, angsty retelling of the fairy tale. If you love rewritten oldies, this is one not to miss. The writing is clean, the sex hot, the characters wonderfully complex.
