Holey moley, what a wild emotional roller-coaster! This was the first book I read from this author and I loved it. I love small town romance and second chance love stories. This was so much more than I expected.
Ashton left Clay after a night together and she didn't look back for 7 years. I had to put the book down and take a break when he yelled at her at the bar after his toast celebrating his birthday. Clay was so mean to her.
There is so much that happens in seemingly a short amount of time after she returns home.
So much love for this. I can't wait to see what else Lisamarie Kade comes up with. I'd be cool to get a story about Sonny and Bo. :)

Ashton & Clay had been together for a long time, but pretty quickly after graduation she left without a goodbye breaking Clay's heart. She's been gone a cool minute but she finally comes home to get her life back together, but not many people are happy that she's back, especially Clay. See, he never let it go so he's not the same man as the bitterness ate his lunch & he has no problems trying to get her to leave again. However, despite doing his best to keep hating her, things start to take a turn as they find that they still have all the chemistry & their connection starts to grow again. Of course nothing in life is ever easy so the past doesn't want to stay in the past as a pretty dark secret comes to light, threatening to separate them again, but will they let it?! I swear that I had so many emotions out & about while reading this second chance story since it was quite the emotional rollercoaster ride that you'll need to buckle up for. So you know what to do to see how it all pans out while I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

This is only the second ever book released by Lisamarie and she has honestly hit it out of the park.
There is something very special about small town romances. Every time I read one I wonder why I don’t read more of them. Ashton and Clays story is a second chance at love, with Ashton finally returning home after leaving seven years ago she’s not exactly welcome with open arms except for a few people. It’s storylines like this that I cannot get enough of and Lisamarie’s version was outstanding. Then add in great minor characters and it was especially difficult to put this book down. I would definitely read more from this author in the future. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
After a bad experience, Ashton has to return home to the place she gave her heart away and the place she had to leave. That's where her heart has always belonged. But the object of her love won't feel the same as her now...too much pain, too much time, and he'll have rightfully moved on.
Clay isn't happy to see Ashton back and makes his feelings plain.
This is the setting for friends to reconnect and stand by one another, even though it's a difficult choice.
As Ashton finds work, and is thrown in Clay's way more and more, things start to change and revelations make everything pretty volatile.
Will love prevail? Read it and see!

A second chance at love together. Ashton thought she was doing the right thing and ended up being someone she did not like. I enjoyed her journey back to herself and how she was still willing to take risks. Clay's anger was borne from his heartbreak, but he was such a sweetheart when he saw beyond that pain. He was caring and protective. I liked this story, Ashton and Clay, and the secondary characters like Sunny and Bo.

Sensational. An explosion of emotions, chemistry and tension that has me getting through this book all day when I should be working. Naughty me! But it was good! I mean...THAT TWIST! Like...wow. I did not see that coming. You will know what I mean. Plus the sezual tension and the steamy sense, just fabulous.

Beautiful and Quick Read
Ash and Clay are the southern couple you see in movies! Absolutely beautiful. The story was beautifully written and paced like watching a Hallmark movie with a cup of hot chocolate by the fire. Just beautiful.

Almost DNFd but thought I’d keep going because it’s so short.
The book is so far fetched but what really pissed me off is that this author thinks anyone who comes from a small southern town speaks like they’re illiterate. I guess it was supposed to be for comedic effect but it was insulting as fuck.
That aside, the story was trite. Played out. Read so many times, the problem was the other books were better executed.
Manwhore gets a second chance with the one that got away. Even takes her back to his fuck pad so he could really show her what she means to him. And just about a day after she watched him getting a blowjob from a needy, clingy woman. So, you know she’s really strong but just can’t help herself because he’s that good looking.
She’s doesn’t even really have closure from her sham of a marriage. Fun fact, when your cheating husband steals money from you and you decide to file for divorce, that money is still owed to you. Even if he has to file for bankruptcy. She just walks away. Let’s not even get started on how the whole town hates her for leaving. Her aunt, her best friend and a few others seem at a distance. Didn’t feel like they really cared that she was screwed over. In fact, they seemed happy that her life fell apart. Lots of I told you so. Made me think that the author doesn’t think small town people actually leave the small town or travel or go to college or explore. Nope, they all stay there with their little lives inside their tiny little bubble.
Oh and there’s a twist but it was kinda out of left field. Didn’t fit with story at all.

This is Lisa's second book and she has honestly knocked it out of the park with this one. I started this today and had it devoured within a few hours. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN.
Ashton has returned to her hometown to rebuild her life after her divorce and has come face-to-face with the love of her life, the man she left behind. She is having to face the consequences of the destruction she left in her wake.
The chemistry between them was hot as hell from the minute of them bumping into each other again. There is a really fine line between love and hate. Clay just needs to work out if he can forgive Ash for leaving and move on.
I won't give it away but there is a certain part in the book where I am cheering Ash on so much when she is facing off against Clay's mum... go Ash!!
I can't wait to see what Lisa brings us next

Ashton left her small hometown without a word, leaving behind a heartbroken boyfriend, and now 7-years later she has returned to rebuild her life after a divorce, and it is not long before she comes face to face with Clay who has a huge chip on his shoulder and who makes no bones about the fact she is not welcomes back. The chemistry between these two is explosive and undeniable, but will Clay be able to forgive Ash for leaving? This is a beautifully written flawless story which is emotionally charged, and is filled with emotions, twists, truths, and love, which all leads to a steamy and all-consuming 2md chance romance story. I was intrigued and hooked throughout, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author who has done an outstanding job in weaving this tale.

This is where she has to face up to everything she left behind. Lisamarie does an amazing job of giving us a story with many ups and downs, angst filled, true friendship , and lots of love. While it may be true that you can't go home again, because it will never be the same way you left it, it can be a new beginning. That's the charrn of this story, there can be forgiveness, redemption and most importantly love. There are a few twists in the story that are nice surprises, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Cute storyline but a little cliche, Ashton and Clay were kept apart by circumstances beyond their control and it's funny how things bring them back together again.
The book did feel a little rushed and disjointed in sections but the plot came together in the end. This author certainly has potential and will continue developing her craft with more books under her belt.
Overall I give the book a 3.5 ⭐⭐⭐💫
