It’s Christmas time, there’s no need to be afraid... Unless you've disturbed an ancient entity, your sanity is in tatters, your child is at risk, and your friends don't believe a word you say. Cormac is forced to dig up the past as The Big Boy makes itself more and more at home, and Scooper gets what every kid wants from An exorcism. Nick Roche ( The Wreckers Saga, Amazing Renew Your Vows) and Chris O' Halloran (Ice Cream Man) bring the Christmas crackers and Crucifixes.
Just as I suspected, the slower-paced second issue of Nick Roche’s supernatural dramedy comic book series, “Scarenthood,” was largely setup for this action-packed third issue. The chills are chillier, the jokes are jokier, and questions are finally getting some answers. I love this series so far. The pacing, the art style, the quirky sense of humor, the demonic possessions, etc. I’m on pins and needles to see how this whole thing gets wrapped up in the next issue.
Review is for Scarenthood 1-3: I've really enjoyed reading this comic so far! I wasn't sure I'd be able to relate with the story because I'm not a parent, but the children are really only a small contribution to the overall arc and the other characters and supernatural elements are unique enough to have kept me invested in the events of this world. I look forward to reading future issues!
At first I was a bit wary of this issue as it seemed to do a minor time-jump and go back to fill in the gaps, with the characters' at each others' throats, but it ended up quite fascinating and certainly had a lot of punch after introducing the priest and finally meeting the antagonist 'head on'.
