He's left her twice before why should she believe this time is any different?

Abigail McNamara feels like she always has to prove herself and could never live up to her family's expectations. She’s loved Ryder since she was twelve but he’s broken her heart twice already and she’s vowed she won't ever trust him again.

Every guy knows the code you don’t have sex with your best friend's little sister. If you do you don’t get caught. If you fall in love with her you don’t break her heart. And if you earn her trust back you don’t walk away. Unfortunately Ryder “Spider” Flynn did all that. When Abigail is abducted and help prisoner for fourteen months by a sadistic sociopath that changes everything. Now all bets are off but he has to keep her alive long enough to prove to her he deserves a third chance.

Torn on this one

This has a lot of triggers for sure. There was so much abuse and assault and pain. I didn't like that he left her not once but twice because of outside forces. I hate that she got kidnapped and abused and I hated that I really didn't like the book as much as I should have. He's protective and loving. He cared for her obviously yet he never fought for her. I mean what happened in those four years after the first break up? Did he mourn for her? Did she or did he move on? I mean yeah now he's fighting hard for her but why leave her not once but twice! Oh well I need to get over it, she did. But the mystery part was good. I felt like I came in on the middle of the story. So many characters I got lost. I do believe they loved each other though just I was wanting to know more. This may be closer to four stars but I have issues with the separations. That's just me. I read four of these authors books just today so I definitely like her style and I will read more. I may round up but the abuse was just intolerable. Really bothered me.

An OK read. Good blend with Wolf's team. But... I really felt that Abby was too quick to understand & forgive what had happened with her family. Also, there was a transgression alluded to by Ryder... what did that mean? And for someone who was a SEAL? A little weak in the way he behaved. I think that her parents sounded awful and her brother wasn't much better. So what if it turned out that her parents did 'love' her in the end. Actions are way more effective. I think it showed how weak they were for not supporting what she wanted to do. If they had... I doubt that she ever would've been taken cos she wouldn't have gone back to California. Sorry, but this has irritated me. All felt a little salacious. And Alex? He was ree-deek-u-lous. And what a silly silly pay off. But... it was an OK read...

Wow what a book.
Like any other book by this author it was non stop action from cover to cover, but for the first time ever it was in a military setting. Long time readers will wonder why she hadn't done it soon, and new readers will hopefully see why this author is one of my top go to's for suspense reads.
With danger that literally jumps out at you, you won't be able to look away.
Definitely recommend and a great addition to this multi author world.

Strong 5 Star start to the series!

Her heroines are some of the strongest ladies we’ll ever come across, and for Abigail McNamara, Ryder Flynn not only gives her a second chance at life, but wants to have a second, no, third chance at love with her.

The world is full of terrible characters who perpetrate the most heinous of crimes against women, and this is where Author Jane Blythe writes her best. She doesn’t excessively glorify or torment her characters beyond what is necessary for the book plot, but she most certainly doesn’t go easy on her ladies either!!!

For sure, you as a reader need to be of stoic spirit to be reading one of her books because she doesn’t spoon-feed the plot to anyone. If you’re into disturbing crime shows and romantic suspense, with some SUV thrown in, then these books have the right ingredients for you.

Add in the tropes for Second Chances, Best-Friends Sister and sexy SEALs, and I have no qualms in highly recommending this book as a must-read.

Ms Blythe has already worked to successfully hook my interest in the next book by stating that it is Abigail’s brother, and Ryder’s best mate and team member, Eric McNamara’s turn for a story, and apparently, he has something that he feels intensely guilty for!

Wow, if that doesn’t have you wanting to pre-order, then I don’t know what will!

It was ok. Some parts were unbelievable though.

Abigail and Ryder/ Spider had a very rocky relationship. They sort of dated at her graduation and he took her virginity and left her. Then she gave him another chance and they were together for a year and he left her again.
When Ryder and his team, including Abigails brother Eric are on a mission they find her after she’s been missing for fourteen months.
The plot line of why she was taken didn’t make sense to me. I won’t spoil it but it just didn’t add up why she was taken and kept for fourteen months!
Parts of it were really exciting, when she was first rescued and they were hiking through the jungle was brilliant,
There are other kings that really spoilt if for me as well. As a navy Seal there is no way that he could stay with her all the time and not do any training!
And please writers, stop writing sex scenes around broken bones!!! I’ve had a broken arm and a broke rib before,(at different times.) and it hurts to breathe never mind about having sex!!!! NOPE! Wouldn’t happen!!!

Meh

I was already wary after the blurb mentions the hero is on his third strike with the heroine. But I had hope since its a major component, there would be some groveling from him and some push back/apprehension from her. Nope, nope on both accounts. Because the author kindly wrote this in a minute time breakdown, we saw exactly how long until our girl folded and how little it took. Plus her family was a real piece of work and it was just glossed over and never really addressed.

Saving Ryder: Special Forces: Operation Alpha: Saving SEALs Book 1 is written by Jane Blythe. Susan Stoker gave Jane permission to use people from her books in this one. I really like the idea that authors can do this with permission. It gives a little different look to the characters simply because someone else is doing the writing.
Ryder and his team are deep in the Mexican jungle on a mission to find and retake three daughters of a US diplomat. To cover this large encampment, they have separated and are searching different areas. Ryder has come across a small hut and has found a room with a cage built in. Instantly, as he sees a body in the cage, he decides this person will be liberated as well. No one should be caged like this. As he attempts to get the person to respond, he realizes it is his teammate, Night, little sister Abby. She is burning up with fever and is unconscious. When she does come awake, she begins fighting, thinking he is one of the other men. When she realizes it is Ryder, a neighbor boy she has had a crush on since she was twelve, she calms down. He lets the team know he has her and is getting her out. She objects because she knows she will slow him down; but he doesn’t listen. They have been looking for her for fourteen months and have had no clues as to where to look. He isn’t giving her up now. Besides, he is in love with her and has made some mistakes which he hopes to rectify if she will listen to him. But that is later, now he has to get her out of here and on that helicopter. Can he do it? Will she live to hear him out or will her pneumonia and lack of medication and water do her in?

With every book this author writes there is a fabulous romance but the outstanding factor is the suspense element. In this military story, her first I believe, it is no different, the suspense has you on the edge of your seat at times.

Ryder Flynn, aka Spider, is a SEAL who is one hunky guy and an alpha male through and through with his ultra protective mannerisms. He literally lives to protect with his choice of profession as well as the way he is with his best friend’s younger sister. I really like this character and not just because he is hot 😆, he suffered trauma in his past yet has gone on to be this solid person with high morals.

Abigail McNamara is five years younger than Ryder but has been in his life since he was ten, now in a different way. I really like her character, her inner strength shows the depth of her character. I have to admit I did get annoyed with her parents, they may have done things they thought were to help her but wow, I don’t know how they’d think that really. There are definite lessons to be learnt in this story that hold a lot of value for everyone.

There are some darker elements in the book that make it really exciting but they are written in such a manner that they are seamlessly embedded into the fabric of the story. There are also some lighter moments that have you chuckling, a good balance is achieved overall. The other SEAL team members are all interesting characters from the moments we share with them in this story and I look forward to knowing their stories too.

I have no hesitation in recommending this fantastic story to everyone who appreciates quality writing and entertainment.

Jane Blythe is a favorite author of mine for a long time! Her new Saving SEALs series has me hooked! I loved Ryders and Abby were a little bit damaged, but together they were perfection.

This is a different type of writing I am use to from Jane. But I love this story and fell hard for Ryder. Now, you will see her signature torment of mystery that adds a huge twist that will make you gasp out loud and cry with the characters.

I am ready to see what Jane has in store for us with Eric’s story. I need it stat and so glad it will be out if a few more days. This is a series you need to read!!

Abigail McNamara trusts Ryder "Spider" Flynn with her life but not her heart. She's been there--done that with him twice. It won't happen again even if she does still love him. He's made a monumental mistake twice by walking away. He had his reasons. Now he just needs the courage to tell them to his woman Lots of great action and suspense in this novel. Getting to learn a little about Spider's SEAL teammates was insightful and having Wolf and his team show up was a big plus for me. A couple of twists will surprise you but you'll root for this duo all the way.

I really loved Abby and Ryder. These two were magnetic together. They have endured pain, mistrust and secrets. Ryder has been in Abby’s life for as long as she can remember and all she wants is a life with him, but people keep getting the way of their happiness. Being a SEAL has shaped him into the man he is today and he loves Abby and wants the chance to prove it, if she’ll let him. Their story is full of suspense, it’s gripping, edge of your seat nail biter, secrets and the love of a big family to help you through it all. This was my first read by this author and I’m looking forward to Eric’s book next.

YAY!. Another fabulous romantic suspense novel by Jane Blythe, Saving Ryder, Book I of the Saving Seals series did not disappoint. It starts out strong, keeping me rapidly ‘flipping pages’.

How Jane Blythe manages to come up with a different twist on an oft told tale, never ceases to amaze me.

What romance lover doesn’t love a hunkalicious Navy Seal and a damsel in distress?

Abby and Ryder already knew each other. In fact, he had broken it off with her twice. When his team of Navy Seals are sent to rescue a group of children who had been taken hostage, Ryder found Abby, who had been missing for fourteen months. It was a surprise to him, but she had never given up hope that she would be rescued.

She had suffered through months of torture and near starvation, but even she didn’t know how bad it really was. The truth comes out slowly…and, this time, Ryder will be by her side every step of the way. BUT, why was she taken?

Saving Ryder has all the goodies: a damsel in distress, some hunkalicious Navy Seals, mucho danger from a psychopath, and sweet romance.

Jane Blythe creates a fabulous story with lovable and loving characters. Every time I read a book like Saving Ryder, I have to remind myself how much her writing and creativity give me the suspense and thrills I am looking for. After all the books I have read of hers, she still manages to surprise me and leave me wanting more.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Saving Ryder by Jane Blythe.

The storyline itself is good but it takes a long time to get into the “why” of her kidnapping. Abby was duped into loving Ryder not just once but twice and he was back for the third time is a charm. All that in itself sort of got tiring but the final chapter made me give a three star rating. Kidnapped; beaten while tied up; broken nose, cheekbone, arm, ribs; split lips and bruises BUT, let’s have sex. Ok, I’m done with this read!

Should have been called “Frustrating Abby”

I rarely leave reviews, so when I do it’s because what I read evoked a very strong emotion, positive or negative. This one was negative. Abby was so frustrating to me! One breath she’s this wannabe strong and independent woman, but the next she’s waffling between the same emotion but with different meanings to the emotion. I just didn’t really like Abby from jump and it took me so long to read this book because of my dislike for her. She would redeem herself with me for a hot minute then I’d be reminded why I don’t like her and stall out on reading. This book should have taken me one day, 36 hrs tops to read yet it took like four days! I liked Ryder, Eric (he kinda annoyed me too with what he did), and the other characters were ok as well. I’m thinking the author intro’d ALL of those characters to set us up for the other forthcoming books in this series. I think she may have gone a little overboard, though, and could have kept it simple with introducing them. Like, did I REALLY need to know each of their SEALs nicknames right now, or could we just get away with their given names OR the nicknames only?? Maybe that’s just me.

Ryder and Abigail

This book is action packed and suspenseful. I was able to read it in a day…I didn’t want to put it down. When a Seal team goes in to rescue a Senator’s 3 abducted children they find another hostage. She is known by all of the team members but especially to the ex boyfriend who finds her and brother. Abigail McNamara has been missing for fourteen months and is naked and suffering from pneumonia in a locked cell by Ryder “Spider” Flynn. The two grew up as next door neighbors and she secretly fell in love with him at age twelve. He has broken her heart twice and she’s determined there will not be a third time. When they are unable to get to the helicopter before it’s forced to leave Ryder gets Abigail to a safe place and Wolf and his team (from Susan Stoker’s Seal of Protection Series) are sent in to rescue them. There is more danger on the horizon as the team has to determine who took Abigail and why. Ryder is not giving up on winning “his woman” back and has a big hill to climb in order to do it. Both of them have past hurts and trauma from childhood that play a big part too. This is a really enjoyable read.

This is the first of three in a series that Jane Blythe is doing in Susan Stoker's Operation Alpha series. I became hooked on Jane's books when she put out the Broken Gems series,  (The last of which is part of Susan's series) She is a wonderful writer and if you are a Stoker fan,  you'll love Jane.
Saving Ryder is a best friend's little sister romance with lots of suspense thrown in. Ryder is a Navy SEAL who while on a mission,  happens to find Abby, the woman he loves and has left twice,  who disappeared 14 months earlier. She's very ill with pneumonia. After a harrowing rescue,  she's taken to a hospital where she's reunited with her brother,  Eric, who is also on the team. But she can't remember who kidnapped her or why.
Now, I don't want to ruin the rest of the book, so you'll be just have to grab a copy. My only critique here is the first sex scene. Trust me when I tell you as someone who has has pneumonia AND broken ribs (4 of them) at the same time...yeah, there's just no way that's happening.

Wow!!

Oh my god! This was phenomenal!

Whilst on a mission to save three young girls from a kidnapping, Ryder stumbles upon his teammates sister who went missing 14 months previously. Shocked at finding her he has his work cut out for him to get them both out of there unscathed.
Abby and Ryder have a history together and throughout their ordeal Ryder has a hell of a time trying to get her trust back.
Once on American soil they both find that this was only just the beginning, both for the restart of their relationship and also for the actual reason Abby went missing in the first place….

I have read this series out of order but my goodness this one is absolutely phenomenal. It’s pretty much everything I look for on my romantic suspense books.
I loved that the book started with Abbys discovery. I totally felt for her and felt every moment of every step she took to recovery. Ryder, omg was just amazing! Total swoon worthy and even though he made some bad choices he thought they were for the right reasons.
Amazing!

This is something totally different from Jane Blythe and it is outstanding. I loved Ryder and Abigail and their story is one of love, loss and heartbreak. Kept apart by Abby’s family they are once again reunited under extreme circumstances when Ryder rescues Abby after she was abducted and held captive for 14 months. This is a powerful story as Abby has to deal with the trauma of her abduction but also the truth of why her and Ryder were kept apart. I held my breath throughout this book and I had to take a moment to process everything that had happened to Abby. Every one of Jane Blythe’s books destroys me, in a good way, and then at the end it feels like I am put back together. Amazing characters and a truly believable story line will have you on the edge of your seat from the very beginning. Be prepared for an emotional roller coaster because Ryder’s story is heartbreaking also. This is book one in this new series and I am eagerly awaiting the second book which promises to be another great read. Highly recommend this amazing 5 star read. Thanks Jane Blythe for sharing this series with your loyal fans.

I received an e book copy and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

3rd chance romance

Ryder (Spider and I almost deducted a star for his code name - for a sec, I thought it was a typo/poor editing, and the explanation is lame, there were definitely better choices IMO) is a SEAL who dumped Abby not once but twice. The first time after taking her virginity and the second they date for a while (a year maybe), then he ghosts her!! The why shows he had good intentions, but I think she forgave him too easily. I did like reading Abby's inner struggle to harden her heart against him - definitely made her relatable and showed she wasn't a door mat. Abby's parents (unintentionally) did a number on her, and she has no idea of her strength despite being held captive for 14 months. Ryder is her biggest champion, which made me like him more. Her brother Eric is the MC of the next book. Abby forgave him too quickly, too, so I hope he struggles a bit in his book, though I'm intrigued by his female lead.

Ryder and Abigail

Book one this series was inspired by author susan stoker with her consent this author took a few characters from susan series and made a series (a lot of authors do this spin off series or each write a book in a series) I'm not a fan as it's hard to find the start and find the rest plus spoilers.
I enjoyed the storyline (not for the faint hearted) in truth it was Abigail who needed rescuing I'm not a fan of the damsel in distress but it's ok if it done tastefully and with her having some fire and not all damsel.her story makes you want to weep (it's a hard read) The title is about her saving ryders heart he was broken before coming a seal. (at least the title goes with the photo of a man, some books have saving females as titled but men photos yeah really)
I will read on Eric is next with her friend I guess??

Ryder "spider" and his SEAL team was sent to find three young daughters of a US Senator, so his team split up to cover more ground quicker. Ryder had to go off course because he picked up two heat signatures of unknown subjects. He slowly went toward the compound and ahead of him was a small building. He went in slowly so not to scare the person, he found a naked women in a cage. He went to see what kind of medical attention she needed and found out she was very sick. He took out his flashlight and shone it on her face and very surprised that it was Knight's younger sister, Abigail, she has been missing for fourteen months. He had to get her out of here. This story was full of kidnapping, action, danger, and very strong woman. Couldn't put it down until finished. Can't wait to read the next one in this series.

On a rescue mission, snatching young girls from a trafficking pipeline, the last person Ryder ‘Spider’ Flynn expected to see was dancer Abigail McNamara, a woman he’d abandoned and regretted twice. Abby’d been missing 14 months and there were no clues!

Caring for Abby’s pneumonia laced lungs as they race to the helicopter and escape, Ryder vows he’ll do all he can to reconcile with her. Abby insists she wasn’t abused, there’s evidence her hands and feet were plus she has nightmares and her memory seems faulty. Those few clues make it clear to the team Abby’s was not a random kidnapping!

To my taste, this new to me author gave a fair outing but the quick disposal of the villain made the action piece seem rushed and weak.

Beautiful

What a stunningly beautiful story. Ryder and Abby we're two halves of a whole. Watching Ryder fight the evil that had taken Abby, working with his brother's in arms to keep her safe was heartwarming. Everything in me was hoping they would find each other again. Abby is such a brave and strong character. She withstood something that would break many people. My heart aches for the pain Ryder had suffered as a young boy. He so deserves to be loved.

Ryder is a SEAL, he's know Abigail since she was a child until they crossed that line. He left her, came back into her life and left her again! Will she give him a 3rd chance. They've always loved each other but baggage gets in the way.
This time she's a victim of kidnapping, she's been missing over a year and no one knew why. On the verge of death and Ryder is once again her hero. As she healed the author put all the pieces together as we worked out the who and why, but how to stop it before it happens again.
Will they all survive if she is captured again?
Such an exciting story, I can't wait to get stuck into book 2.

OMG!!!! This book took me from one emotional, intense, heartbreaking, action packed twist to another. I was pulled in right from the start and kept me glued to my seat wanting more and more. Abby and Ryder (Spider) their story is not easy but with each page you read the more you understand why they are they way are. It's an amazing, heart pounding, and beautiful book that will have you in tears, laughing some, have a few head turning, wondering what is going and wanting to know everything read and once the truth comes out it will have you floored and wanting so much you won't be able to stop reading. This author definitely knows how to pull out every emotion and feeling scramble them all about and ever so slowly put them back together again. I so can't wait to read what she has next.

Several Chances at Love!

Saving Ryder: WOW! Fantastic story! I loved how Abby survived so much in her young life. She was a very strong young lady. She had a team of Seal who would do anything to find her. Ryder would do anything to protect Abby. He was so happy to find her after she had been missing for so long. She hated seeing her in such bad shape. The two of them had something special between them. That makes them survive through any ordeal. I really enjoy their story.

Trust me....

So much action in this book...kidnapping, torture, jungle rescues, murder, traitors, revenge....and so much love. Both Ryder and Abby carry a huge amount of baggage from childhood, but together they heal, their souls and their bodies crave each other, but twice other people have ripped them apart. Not this time, now Ryder has finally found her again nothing will keep them apart, not their pasts, not current threats and not their fears.
A fantastic book I look forward to Eric's book next, I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

Abigail has loved her brothers best friend Ryder for years which has caused her nothing but heartbreak. Ryder is a seal and when he and his team are on a rescue mission to get back children that are being held by a Mexican cartel leader, he finds Abby who was kidnapped 18-months previously, and has suffered a horrendous ordeal, and she is so sick that when she hears Ryder’s voice, she thinks she is hallucinating. This is a well written tale which had me on tenterhooks throughout, and this story is filled with angst, heartbreak, emotions, danger, suspense, twists. Secrets, family, friendship, and love. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend for all.

Amazing!

This was a non-stop assault on my emotions from the first page! I loved the connection between Ryder and Abby. I was also glad that each main characters story was throughly thought out and left there for us to see their motivations. I have loved the other books that I have read from this author and this was a fabulous addition to her book catalog. I also look forward to reading more in this world. Great job!
