Sicarii part 3
End Game

After a failed attempt to destroy Marcel Serghi has made him untouchable, everyone around him becomes the ultimate target.

But when Marcel refuses to break his Rules to save a young neighbor Sam Waters, Ben takes it upon himself to rescue him.
And Jacob cannot let Ben go alone, and he knows they cannot succeed. Only someone like Marcel could take on the people who’ve kidnapped Sam.
And manipulating Marcel Rules to save Sam could end Jacob’s life.

Ben Corbin’s uncle is murdered, and the search for the man who killed him takes Ben to the small town of Spencer. But his game plan unravels when he finds himself falling for the beautiful and broken Jacob, who deserves more than living in the shadow of the killer, Marcel Serghi.

Jacob Moser was saved from the streets by Marcel Serghi, and as payment he’s given his absolute loyalty. Jacob has convinced himself he has everything he needs until Ben Corbin comes into his life. In fear of his growing attraction to Ben, he does his best to push him away.

Then a deadly game of revenge turns Ben and Jacob into pawns, and the only one who can save them is a man forged into a killer under the most brutal conditions.

Marcel Serghi is an assassin who belongs to the House of Sicarii and there are Rules that cannot be broken. When a long-standing grudge against Marcel comes to fruition, innocent lives are put into play.

And to keep everyone alive, Marcel must choose his moves with care.

Georgia born and bred, I am an artist, a writer, and a general pain in the ass.
I spend most of my days working on my next book or bettering my art.
Writing is my identity and I love every minute of it. It's work, lots of work (sometimes I work 12+ hours a day and I never get a vacation) but I don't regret doing it.
I currently share my house with a myriad of dogs, a few cats, a saltwater aquarium filled with coral and fish, as well as my partner who's great at giving hugs when the day's been rough.
And of course, my editor and PA, who helps me keep life reasonably organized. At least so I won't walk out the door without wearing pants.

Slow clap...

Slow clap and a hat off to Ms Wilder. Well done... you certainly delivered on the one, ma’am. I really don’t know what to say except I’m impressed. I didn’t know how things would end up even though I had some idea, I definitely didn’t figure it all out.

The shroud of mystery still loomed and we didn’t have all the answers but it was just enough to keep the story interesting and exciting. I’m satisfied. Truly.

Slow clap....

Absolutely fab read ! I really loved this series and was totally engrossed. Loved Marcel and his rigidity to the rules- although I’m sure he bent them slightly to save 3 young men and ensure their lives could improve. Ben & Jacob deserved their peace and Sam was set in a beautiful path. Loved this ❤️❤️❤️

This is a mind bending series.
Is the end really THE END 🤔

Marcel facilitates relationships and ends lives. It’s his gift.
Ben and Jacob may seem like pawns but really they hold a much higher purpose.

Sam’s arc comes to an end and a beginning.

This book was fascinating and I’ll ruminate on the plot for a while.

What an ending! Amazing! Brilliant! Adrienne Wilder, you are one hell of a story teller. This trilogy not only has incredible characters, the plot is also an intricate and cleverly constructed chef d'oeuvre. An ode to the power of love; a frightening tale of passion, revenge and murder.

Sam, Ben, Jacob, Marcel... I'll miss you.

Gotta say I loved this series and Marcel. A few things at the end could have been a little stronger in tying up some things but I wouldn’t mind a few spin-offs.

Overall a solid 4.5 stars for this series!

A very unique series, that's for sure. As a whole, I'd give it 3.5 stars. Definitely memorable, with an amazing anti-hero, and some exquisitely written mind-fuck scenes. Loved the relationship between Ben and Jacob, and I adored Sam, he was just precious. Marcel remained an enigma to me, but I loved seeing how differently he thought to other people.

I still think it was kind of weird to split this story into three parts; there was no natural point where a part stopped and another began. This last part was more like 2.5 stars: there were some sections that went on for too long, some parts that were just too much (the attack on Sam, the part with Logan and his men). There were also a ton of editing mistakes, not just here, but in the other parts too, and it definitely could have used a stricter editor.

Don't let my review deter you, though. This is a unique series with amazing writing, definitely worth checking out!

This review is for all three Sicarii books, as they form a complete standalone story.

There are five main characters in Sicarii: Marcel, Ben, Jacob, young Sam and the villain, Yvette. What I really appreciated was that the author offered all of theirs points of view, with great insight into their feelings and motivation.

Well, having Marcel's point of view didn't really help understand him better, but I was no less completely fascinated with him. Cold, almost inhumanely unfeeling and manipulative, yet it seemed that all his machinations were intended to help Sam, Ben and Jacob brake their barriers of fear. He had a way of transforming his appearance from easygoing to scary and imposing in the blink of an eye, to instill admiration, fear and hate at the same time...kudos to the author for managing that. And while I might not have agreed with Marcel's methods,  I have to admit that in a twisted way he helped, or rather forced, Ben and Jacob learn to stand up for themselves. Sam, too.

Sicarii had a darker edge, for sure, definitely gritty, raw and laced with a heavy dose of intense fear. It showed sides of humanity at its worst, revenge, violence, mind games, despair and hate, but Ben and Jacob's love for each other, and Sam's sweetness shined through the ugliness. I loved everything about this story, every powerful emotion that it put me through.  Just LOVED IT!

This is a fitting ending for a very good serial/series. It's enigmatic and very satisfying all at once.
The end game. A bloody game of chess.

description

All of the characters have a strong voice. The women are given purpose, they're not some useless plot device. I loved Sam's mother. She is perfect, and while I may not have liked Yvette she owns who she is.

I notice that the pricing structure has changed for this series and Part I was on for $0.99. I recommend you grab it, at that price it's a bargain, read it and see what you think. If you like it, and it's a series for the open and gritty reader, then chances are you'll enjoy the whole journey - it's quite the trip over three parts in a forest green GTO.

4.5 overall for the series.

Marcel’s character is either more or less than human. I still didn’t quite understand the mysterious cabal of Houses or whatever it is that he comes from. He’s got a really scary way of being altruistic though. In spite of all the gore, this is still romance because there’s a couple of happy endings.

It cam together

Well, the third book brought most of it together. The little cliffhanger at the end tempts with a possibility of more books in this world.

Really nice series.Highly recommended!

SICARII Part 3 is the third and final instalment in Adrienne Wilder’s contemporary, adult, dark, SICARII erotic psychological thriller focusing on Ben Corbin, Jacob Moser and Marcel Serghi, as well as the burgeoning relationship between high school students Sam Waters and his friend Roshan.

NOTE: SICARII contains scenes of graphic violence and assault, and M/M sexual situations that may not be suitable for more sensitive readers.

Told from several third person perspectives (Ben, Jacob, Marcel, Sam and Yvette) SICARII Part 3 is the culmination of three story lines that follows the controversial relationship between Ben, Jacob and Marcel, and the vendetta against Marcel Serghi for sins of the past. Marcel Serghi is a member of the House of Sicarii, a House of assassins who must abide by the rules of the covenant. Believing Marcel must sacrifice himself for the death of her brother, twenty years earlier, Yvette wages a war against Marcel, threatening everyone in his life including Ben, Jacob and Sam. When Marcel is called to present himself before the Court of Justices to speak to the accusations by Yvette, Ben and Jacob take their own relationship to the next level, a relationship of which Marcel is no longer in control.

Meanwhile, Sam Waters continues to do battle with the high school bullies, a battle he wages with determination and might. Sam’s relationship with Roshan becomes public fodder for the homophobic tormentors but Sam, with the help of Marcel, endures yet continues to suffer throughout the story, having become the target of vengeance and hate.

SICARII is a story of power and control; of discrimination and abuse; of betrayal, vengeance, acceptance and love. Sam and Roshan’s relationship is symbolic of the struggles for many young men coming to terms with the sexual identity but also is representative of Marcel’s relationship with his first love Alexander. Jacob finds love with Ben Corbin, a love he was unable to find with Marcel Serghi; and Marcel uses his membership in the House of Sicarii to protect them all. A strong final instalment SICARII part 3 leaves a little bit of mystery surrounding Marcel Serghi, an emotionless, anti-hero with almost preternatural abilities, and a dark past shrouded in death, personal loss and destruction.

A free copy of this book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review through M/M Romance Group for DBML Program.

Another great book and 5 stars are well deserved.

This book is the end of the trilogy, and we experience how all the ties are tied up.

The book is still full of darkness, danger, and desperation, although, on every page, you can see a sparkle of hope. The story is still focused on Ben, Jacob, and Sam, people for which you find yourself rooting for. Every struggle makes you love them more.

My favourite is still Marcel and despite his ways what he is showing is love. Life and love are not easy, and he forced people to fight for what they love and to survive. Nothing worth having comes without a price and you need to make sure you are willing to pay that price. What is freely given is not appreciated.

I love how every single step is calculated and executed in such effortless and fulfilling ways. How every pause is taken to let things evolve and unfold. Leave nothing to chance is Marcel’s motto.
Marcel is the puppeteer and everyone else is of use, but he does it in such a beautiful way that in the end, the others have to surrender. We see under his ministrations how all of them reach the end of the road, and how they enter a new path full of things they never expect to have in their life. Things they never dreamt of.

Marcel gives them all a new life.

They need to suffer to achieve what they want, and they need to change to be ready to accept what life offers, however it is always growth in the right direction. A path to something better and with people they can trust.

A very well done to the author for the ability to keep the reader interested and focus on the lives of these characters for three beautiful books.

Must read books if you love the unexpected to happen and want to be surprised.

This book was provided for free by the author in exchange for an honest review via the MMRG Don’t Buy My Love Program as were the following books of this series.

Trigger warnings: This series contains a lot of violence on and off page, mention of rape, abuse and drug use and might trigger some people

All this said I would love to let you know what I think about this book or the whole series. I got all three books from the author and down loaded them to my ebook reader. Then I started to read and found it difficult at first to follow the different strings of the plot. I didn´t need to wonder because I accidentally started reading the series with book 2. In the end it was a blessing for me as I´m sure I would have had more problems with the first book because of the violence and the tales of what happened to Jacob than I had this way. It made it easier for me to read as I knew what was happening later and the characters got throu all of what happened in book 1.
I love these books even with all that violence. I love the way Adrienne writes and I love the intricate plot of these books. I read book 1 and 3 in one go today because I wanted to know what happens to Ben and Jacob. I also wanted to know what happens to Sam. So I read and read and read and then needed some time to come back to myself after finishing the books. Don´t know if you get this feeling too sometimes. There are books that suck you right in and don´t want to let you go after finishing them. These books fall in that category for me.
Last I would like to say thank you to Adrienne. Thank you for giving me these books and thank you for writing them. And the biggest thank you for the epiloge of book 3. I needed to know. :)

Sicarii 1-3 spoilers

So I’m glad the three books were out bc I’m not good with cliffhangers and these books are exactly that! It was a good read. At first I was wondering the reason for the young teenage boy since book one. By the end of book 1, the young g boy gave me a glimpse to another side of Marcel that you don’t see with Ben and Jacob. I assumed it was so Marcel could teach a lesson bc he did in fact teach Sam valuable lessons. By book 2 I really was wondering the point of why Sam was still in this story. And I was also wondering if the plot would thicken. In the second book the author only gave enough to keep you at the edge of your seat and dying for the third book. By book 3 I realized the reason for Sam and that was a thrill ride. Finding out the reason Marcel really came to the rescue was also heartbreaking and anger inducing at the same time. The third book makes every emotion you have and ones you didn’t think you had come through. There is so much more to Marcel and it is eye opening. The lesson that comes out of Sams situation is heart felt. The gifts given and taken. The fact Ben is Alexander’s son, it’s all to much and not enough. It was a great read and tied together so nicely with an epilogue that leaves you happy bc you will hâte Marcel and you will live Marcel. It is inevitable.

Marcel, love him or hate him, he is one of the most compelling characters I’ve read. His absolute adherence to HIS Truths and Rules is amazing. Although he did bend a bit at the end.

Jacob and Ben, bound to Marcel, continue to become closer which actually makes the story take a dark turn.

Sam, sweet Sam. He’s destined to be a wonderful man. Marcel’s words create lots of boxes in his head.

Yvette I’d just as soon ignore. But her vengeance only serves to hurt her and make Jacob, Ben, and Sam so much stronger.

These books made a great story. The author really brought the characters to life, specially Marcel. The interweaving of the characters lives was complex and compelling. I felt like I knew each one. The books by themselves were a 4 star review. The books as a complete series I will give a 5. I did enjoy them very much.

Sicarii : fantastic series!!

I read this series, one after the other and back to back, they were that good. I had to force myself to sleep (you know life continues 😂). I cannot wait for more. Jacob, Ben and Sam were such great characters. Sam’s mum was the best. But Marcel, you could literally feel his pull from the pages of the book. I would love to see more of him and know what happens His stoicism and fatalism showed great strength but at the same time great sadness. He saw value in what others have rejected and had such insights but I don’t think he ever saw himself as a being of value. Complex character. I highly recommend this series.

WHAT A RIDE!

I'm blown away by this book. This in particular was filled with action and angst. I devoured the whole series in a matter of two days (and that's because I had to sleep... and work...).
I must say I was expecting another ending, another resolution. But that Jacob plot-twist got me gaping. So, I'm pretty satisfied with how everything went. I feel there was no other way around. I wouldn't mind reading more about this universe. It's so dark and interesting!

Wow, what a trip!

You must read all three in order of you will be lost. A killer, a whore, college student, girl, er, ex-girlfriend, a boy next door, young love, bullies, high school, resentment, rage, death, houses and Justices. These books had all of that and more. Philosophy of life, words to live by, Ms. Wilder hits all her marks, writes an interesting story, one that will stick with you for awhile.

This is an overall review for the whole story and not just this first part, so it's going to be the same for all tree parts.

I found the story totally engaging and I really liked how it unfolded from the POV of all the different characters, getting me invested in all of them. Definitely, a great story. I loved it.
