A series about a male protagonist doing everything in his power to sidestep accidentally being part of a BL couple in a BL world. This reminds me I don’t think I watched season 2 of the live action.
I called the “Best Friend’s Older Brother” trope from a mile away. I’m curious how the MC will get out of that one.
This series is just a ton of 4 ish page vignettes where the MC sees the beginning of several BL tropes and tries to avoid being caught up in them. I’m not sure if a third volume will be interesting as it’s sort of repetitive, but I am a bit curious about how he’ll avoid his younger brother’s friend.
The only characters that are sticking are the brother and his boyfriend, the protagonist and the manga artist. The situations and cliches are funny, looking forward to when he will inevitably find himself hooked up, curious about the who on that. It's funny how deadpan he is and how he missed out on getting a girlfriend, unless that was a trap. It's even better how the other characters see him, he comes across as even more brutal. Looking forward to the next one.

This was better than the first volume, but the protagonist is still nameless and without a life of his own. His entire personality and the plot is about him avoiding getting into a BL romance. The chapters were longer and focused mostly on the couples that formed in the first volume, not that I still could tell them apart.
There were some clever ways the protagonist avoided being pulled into a BL romance, but some of them made him seem kind of a jerk. Also, focusing on avoiding a romance he doesn’t want made him miss a romance he would’ve wanted. His family life deepens a little, especially his little brother’s romance, and that was nice. There was also a new POV charcater, a BL manga artist that seemed interesting.
I said after the first volume I wouldn’t read more, but now I’m pretty sure I won’t continue, as the protagonist isn’t likely to progress anywhere interesting. We’ll see if that decision holds.
This was such a good read. Man almost every panel had me laughing.
I love how the author just took the cliches and absurdities of not just bl but almost all romance shit and just went on with it and made this comedic masterpiece. The Mc is so relatable and also just so done with the bl world and the lengths he goes to just avoid it is just full on crack.
To summarize, in a world full of cliche Bl tropes and crazy shit THIS was like a breath of fresh air. A truly refreshing read. 8/10 recommended.
I liked this volume more but that’s mainly because the brother and his bl life was more involved. Plus I really like Hatano lol. I’m pretty sure this is ongoing but if there’s no real main plot I’m not invested enough in these characters to keep reading these shorts. It’s an interesting concept but just not for me.
A szkoda 🤷🏽♂️
it's very fun to follow these little trope scenarios throughout the manga; I'm personally not a big fan of most romance tropes so seeing the main character navigate around them reminds me a lot of myself lol. i enjoy following his little brother's relationship a lot; so far that has also been my highlight in the live action adaptation,, they're just very cute together and their dynamic reminds me a little of shin da on and woo tea kyung in light on me. anyways,,,
🇬🇧 So it's kinda funny because all the clichés in BL are mentioned. However, it doesn't really stay exciting without a real plot. I hope there will be more story in the next volume.
Kinda felt like the first one but still different in its own way. I hope there’ll be more progress. High key want him to become the protagonist in the BL world instead of just being the background character.
As funny as the previous volume. I have the same commentary as the previous volume, too. However, I also noticed that the usage of the boxy inner voice by >1 characters made things a bit confusing.
This volume have a little bit more character development and was less about showcasing the different archetypes. There were some moments that I actually thought the protagonist was going to get captured and he neatly dodged the flags lol! I think that it's leading up though to a secret reveal for sure, since they haven't revealed the gender of his cat I think his cat's going to turn into a person and be his partner... He seems to be so much in love with his cat that he has no walls up there so it seems like the perfect gotcha waiting to happen lol! I think I'll read one more volume when it comes out... But I don't feel like I'm in a rush.
