Lara, an envoy to Edinburgh’s clans, could not believe she’d been deemed a Chosen. Cameron Fraser, despite being a yummy hunk, wasn’t a wolf she wanted to associate with. Rash in his decisions, she knew he’d lead his clan to trouble, and she followed him right in, knowing the dangers it posed. With a vampire war on the horizon, Lara faced the clan's uncertainty she was getting to know lead by a reckless leader.
🐺BOOK REVIEW / “Scottish Alliance” Part II/ Jennifer Shepard🧛🏻♂️ ___ 🧛🏻♂️Genre: Fantasy Pages: 44 Language: English Release date: 2020
🐺Reading this book was like being an agent under the cover in a bloody confrontation of werewolves and vampires.
🧛🏻♂️The Plot: This is the second book in a “Scottish Alliance” serial. Clever, bold, and ready-witted, Lara McLeish arrived in Scotland as an envoy to sign a deal on an alliance with another werewolf clan. The surprise waits for her on arrival. Despite the fact the fight among vampires and werewolves is picking up speed, the clan leader loses his position. Lara faces many challenges, one of them – whether the werewolf, who is the second in command, is the one they can trust.
🐺The Writing Style: The author is a fantastic storyteller. I can describe the writing style of this author in one word – BRILLIANT! Still, I have to be more specific to make you interested in. Well, it’s written masterfully at a galloping pace with a lot of intense episodes and sarcastic humor. I’ve not read two stories in one sitting recently. This serial was so addictive and intriguing that having put down the first and the second one, I can’t wait to read the next ones.
🧛🏻♂️The Characters: The number of lead and minor characters isn’t numerous. All of them were depicted so detailed and perfectly in all the senses that I felt myself in a skin of a werewolf that can't wait for night to turn into a wolf and to hunt in the woods, and, like a starving vampire that feels lust for the blood.
☀️Would I read other books by this author: Definitely, yes!
Whit’s fur ye’ll no go by ye! 5- STAR ***** Great Read (frankjnutter.com) “What’s meant to happen will happen! “ Scottish Alliance Part II picks up where Part I ends and continues to build with suspense and mystery. Was Lara sent to Edinburgh to build an alliance or for some other reason? The great character development adds to the suspense and intrigue. As the story progresses one has to wonder if there will be enough Edinburgh Weres left to ward off the Vamps. It appears after the latest encounter the Vampires have the upper hand. Will Lara be able to save the clan from annihilation and save herself: or is there a hidden agenda yet to be disclosed?
This is the second book in the Scottish Alliance collection. I have to say that once you read the first, the second is a must. The characters of Cameron and Lara are more developed. But main thought is who’s the second in command and what’s his motive? There’s action, which has caused me to become engrossed in the pages, not wanting to close my Kindle. The stories end abruptly, but pick up right away on the next book. I mentioned before that I enjoy vamps and werewolves and this collection definitely helps with my thirst for reading them.
In Jennifer Sheppard's Scottish Alliance Part II, she takes the reader on the continuing journeys of Lara McLeish. Lara is a well-rounded, well-written badass that Jennifer enjoyed bringing to life. Her passion is evident in her characters; Scottish Alliance Parts I and II are plotted well and takes the reader on a hard and fast journey filled with battles of the heart and creatures of the night. Pick up both books and take the trip to its spectacular ending!!
Lara, an American werewolf in Scotland, continues her mission to make an alliance with the clan she now fights alongside . Like book one it is a jam packed quick read, perfect for a quick escape during your day. Where will her journey take us next? Anxiously waiting on book 3 to find out!!!
Back for more and the pace is as fast as ever and I am rooting for Lara. This writer's syle is fun and enjoyable and I would like to see a full length-novel written by her.
