We shouldn't have ignored the threat lurking in the shadows. Now we're being taken to who knows where and our territory is on fire.
We're fighting for our lives and the lives of the ones we love. Will we lose everything before our lives together have even begun?
Nothing is what it seems in our world. Our saviors may just be our greatest enemies.
Wolf Forged is book 3 in the Arbor Falls series and is a reverse harem wolf shifter romance told in multiple POVs. It contains MM, mature scenes, language, and a cliffhanger.
I did not enjoy where this story line was going. The whole introduction of the gods was added with no warning - I don't recall them being mentioned at all in the previous two books, and then suddenly I would have preferred a much more mundane explanation rather than throwing divine beings into the plot. And now that we know there are gods in the story, how the heck was Silas's dad Trevor able to hide Ivy just by paying someone to take her away from the city? They're freaking gods, not mortals....
The FMC Ivy and her men were pretty useless for most of the book and just twiddled their thumbs (or had orgies) while waiting for the coalition to solve their issues for them. They kept moaning about their missing wolves as alphas but didn't seem that motivated to do something about it. When the coalition had planned to wait three days before moving in on the suspected location, everyone just went along with it. Why didn't Eli use any of those fancy mentioned hacker skills to try and find the enemy base himself? As alphas in the territory, shouldn't they have been more familiar with information sources to make some progress of their own?
The claiming bites between all the members of her harem were rather random and rushed and not well explained. Why did she suddenly feel like she was okay with the next step in their relationship development? Most of them were done in the heat of the moment by the men in their POV chapters rather than something discussed beforehand with her. It was rather confusing considering how hard the men had tried to refrain from biting her in the previous books. And seeing how useless their bonds were during most of the book for one magical reason or the other, I don't know why they even bothered...
Lastly, I thought most of the book was filler material -- I didn't see any significant progress on the plot or character development for a lot of the story. The amount of smut scenes and M/M relationship exploration between the men was a little much considering their immediate concerns with the coalition and missing pack members. We were given an explanation of Ivy's secret origin background in a few convenient info dump secret meetings in between the smut. And all the kidnappings by the whole mysterious new evil OQ organization were resolved as rapidly as they were introduced in the book in a very tidy shallow manner.
The book ended on a terrible cliffhanger, but I don't think I care enough about the characters and where their stories are going to continue with the next book. -------- Ratings - abandoned series: #1 Wolf Forgotten: ★★★★☆ #2 Wolf Forsaken: ★★★★☆ #3 Wolf Forged (this book): ★★★☆☆
Wow. I can honestly say I did not see half of what happened in this book coming. Just wow!! We finally find out who Ivy’s mom is and holy deer was that a bombshell. We also get to put a name to our baddies and find out just how horrible they really are. This book seriously put me through the emotional wringer. I could spit nails after the crap they did to all the captured wolves. (Does anyone even say spitting nails anymore? Probably not, but those people really ticked me off.) And that ending talk about an arrow to the heart! Who the heck was that guy? A lot of questions were answered about Ivy’s past but now I have so many more and what does all of this mean for her and her four mates? Overall I think think this has to be my favorite of the series just for all the little tidbits from other books sprinkled in, it made it that much more fun while reading it and trust me after some of those part you really need the happy feels. I could go on but really after this book I just need some time to process because it was that good and there is so, so much to think about.
3.5 Stars This book certainly ramped up the action. And the end, oh my it was brutal. The gang is continually now being threatened by an outside organization they know nothing about. Time and time again they find themselves getting caught or caught off guard and I am about ready for some retaliation. Not to mention now we know Ivy's parentage so I hope we see more of her skills in action. Plus she's an Alpha of her very own pack so I would like to see her truly earn and develop her role. Off to the last one!
I’m conflicted about this series. There are aspects that I think are really awesome and aspects that are huge issues which ruin my enjoyment of the books. So I’ll list the pros and cons so you can make up your own minds
PROS 1) I love the actual story line. I can’t tell you what that story line is without ruining it though. The story can be exciting and suspenseful. 2) World building is super cool 3) I love the slow reveals regarding the world building, it keeps the story exciting. 4) I enjoy all the characters; they each have distinct voices.
CONS 1) For me M/M relationships inside a reverse harem story are really tricky, if done wrong I completely hate the book and DNF it. This series really toes the line. Once the males start having relationships with each other, if it feels like their relationship supersedes the one they have with the FMC, I want to put the book down. That is beginning to happen in this series.
Neither Zander or Eli seem to really need Ivy anymore. They are relying on each other emotionally and they have sex with each other. Ivy has become their third wheel. And what makes me even more mad...the way the book ended makes it seem like Cole and Silas are about to start a sexual relationship too. If that happens Ivy will be left with no one!!! That makes me so mad. I am jealous and angry on her behalf. I don’t read RH for the woman to take second place with her men. That’s depressing. I wish authors would differentiate reverse harem and polyam, they’re different.
This one thing is enough to ruin the entire series for me, I’m torn. I want to know what happens with the story but I don’t want to watch Ivy’s men decide they like their BFF and his cock better than her.
Wow! This book! Every time I read a book by Maya Nicole, I am not disappointed, but this one might just be the best yet! It was emotional, but hilarious, and pure fire. I could not put it down, and kept willing myself to read both faster and slower. Faster, because the amount of things that happen in this book is crazy, and slower because I did not want it to end! I laughed out loud so many times, only to cry the next chapter. Seriously, mind blown!
After the explosive cliff hanger in book 2, Wolf Forged picks up immediately back into the craziness. It is filled with so many plot twists and mic drop moments. As Ivy finds more answers about her past, more questions keep falling into their laps.
The multiple POV again was done perfectly. I loved the balance between the characters, and getting to have a change of perspective. The relationships are also only getting better as the series continues. I love these men so much. They are the definition of swoon-worthy.
"I was hers. She was mine. Forever."
I can't wait to see how the series will finish, but I am not ready. This series has been so much fun with the sassy banter and lovable characters.
Omg!!! This next book in this series was phenomenal. It pulled you in from the very beginning and took your for one heck of a rollercoaster ride. One moment your laughing at the comments from Ivy and her men and the next your angry with the situation they were having to go through and deal with and then almost numb at that ending. It was one hell of a cliffhanger and most will probably throw their reading devices and curse Maya for this like I did lol. But it will definitely be worth it for the next book to see what happens. I highly recommend this book and promise you that you most certainly will Not be disappointed! It’s witty, steamy, funny, action packed, drama, suspense, amazing characters and an amazing storyline that leaves you wanting and needing more. I mean what more could you ask for! Maya truly outdid herself on this one 💖
Wolf Forsaken left us with LOTS of questions, some of which are answered here in epic form. This book flowed so well, moving from conflict to peace, to conflict, and it blended sooo well. This world just expanded beyond their wildest dreams, and they are trying to get a handle on how to approach their next attack.
The bond with Ivy and her guys intensifies, and hidden truths come out, about all their pasts. Lines get blurred, and they all try to figure out what comes next, in both the pack, and their little family.
The cliffhanger. I couldn’t believe it. There wasn’t much details regarding the scenario, but I know it’s going to lead to a fantastic finish in the final book!
Story 📖: 5/5 Heat 🔥: 5/5 Cliffhanger 🏔: 4.5/5 (I only wish there was more details, but I understand why it was written this way)
This is the 3rd book of the series and it is a page turner of a story. If you haven't read the first 2 books in the series, you'll need to do so first, as it picks up straight after book 2. The character progression in this story is excellent. The relationship progression amongst the harem themselves, which is not always explored by RH Authors, is excellent in this 3rd book. In terms of storyline, there is alot to digest in this book and I loved that there was a twist to the storyline that I did not foresee in the earlier books. This is a well written paranormal reverse harem and given its cliffhanger ending, can't wait to see where the last book, Wolf Forever, will take us.
Wow this book was explosive!!! Maya just leveled up her game with this one and I was not prepared! I loved how close Ivy continues to get with her men and how much they are really coming together as a unit. It’s tough to not give away too much but we meet some our baddies in person and it’s definitely revealing in a lot of ways. And difficult. Plus heartbreaking. But, good news is Ivy finally learns who she is, but we don’t really know what it all means quite yet. So many questions still! And that cliffy, girl we gots to talk 🤔 that was not nice!
Wowzers! There's so much going in this book and its one revelation after another. I laughed at so many scenes in this book and "deer on a cracker" is my new favorite saying. If you're a fan of Maya, you'll appreciate the mention of several other characters, Nico was a favorite of mine that was mentioned in this book. I'm loving Ivy's story story far and can't wait for the next book and I'll be really sad when the series ends. The book ends on quite the cliffhanger, so prepare yourself and try not to throw the device you're reading :).
Again Ivy and her story has not disappointed! You learn so much more of Ivy in this book and watching it unfold has been my favorite. Her relationships grow so much in this book. This one I think was one of the most emotional ones yet, but still packed with action. That is what I so love about this RH series, there is always something to the story line keeping you on your toes and so enthralled. That ending.....Maya really left us dangling on that cliffhanger. Seriously cannot wait for the next book!
Just when I thought you were going to be nice!!! Hanging off a cliff with no where to go!! Maya I have been on a rollercoaster of emotions reading this book. BOMB DROP about Ivy was amazing!!! No spoilers ladies and gentlemen but you got to read it yourself! This series makes me so damn happy and I just can’t get enough. So many name drops from your others series had me jumping for joy!! Thank you for making my night. Now back to my regular schedule program of waiting for the next book.
I didn’t think this series could get any better. Wow was I wrong. First thing first. Storyline is just fantastic. Characters still are amazing. Now finally some of my questions have been answered. I’ll admit. I was so not expecting who Iveys mom turned out to be. Yup that was a complete shock. I won’t give away any spoilers. I’m still a little in shock. Kind of need book 4 like now. Definitely recommend this series. It’s fantastic!!!
Barely 3.5 stars. This wasn’t the best book in this series. It was chaotic, weird, and kinda uncoordinated. The characters were almost doing their own thing instead of being together. Also, if I was a recent appointed alpha who just lost most of my pack due to a crazy cultish group, I would do anything to get them back. Learn anything and proactive. The FMC and most of her males just didn’t do much of anything, they just laid back basically.
Also, the timing, or should I say the presence of time passing in this book was weird and not explained well. Almost chopping if that makes sense.
This book really took me through lots of crazy places, I never knew what was going to happen next. There was so much doubt, so much suspense that I just COULD NOT put the book down. Maya Nicole really took me through a whole journey of love, heartache, happiness, action, and shall we say passion 😏 With each and every book / series I read by Maya, I just fall in love with her more and more. I absolutely love the way she builds not only the characters, but the whole world. I actually feel as if I’m RIGHT there.
Wow! I love love love this book! Each detail is spot on. I enjoy that there is a scene from each persons POV. I love how Cole realizes that loving his mate has him loving the rest of the guys. Lots of twist and turns, my heart shattered a bit for Eli when he had to take out Silas. I mean it was understood why but my heart was broken. I look forward to book 4 but as always hate that it’s ending. Hopefully there’s some type of 5 year epilogue or something. 😉
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is the 3rd book in the Arbors Falls series. If you haven't read any of mayas books before I advise to read book one and two first, you won't be disappointed. Book three continues the story of Ivy and her mates. I personally can't make my mind up which RH book series I like best from Maya, this one or her Salinity Cove RH series. Its a hard choose.
So, I read too much to have this detailed of a cliffhanger with everybody. And each book has a few months in between. I really need a recap in the beginning of series like these so I can keep interested. There are too many characters and dramatic situations and questions to keep up with and it distracts from the story.
I thought I couldn’t love this series anymore than I already did... I was wrong! As Shrek would say this book is like an onion, it has layers 😂 as the characters peel back one layer there is another one there waiting. I really enjoyed this book and how it was completely unpredictable, the story and characters are fantastic, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the end.
The best book yet in this series. Ivy and her guys story just keep getting better. I really enjoy getting to know Ivy more with each book and could not put down. It just starts out great and keeps going with me being glued to the screen needing more with each new page.
Wow this book has you feeling everything.. Surprise, horror, betrayal and some definite heat. You can't help but root for Ivy and her guys. I love the banter and you never know what's going to come out of someone's mouth. Can not wait for the next book!! P.S. that cliffhanger was just mean!
Silly me was really thinking the last chapter was ending so nicely... I obviously need to be checked out because I have no idea where my head was at.
Book 3 is amazing, and I expected no less! Silas is still my fave, but Xander is a close second. I'm going to need the finale soon because damn.... my heart.
Omg I loved this book! I couldn't put it down. I was laughing, touched with the emotional parts and suspenseful. Now tHat the storyline has further unfolded I'm dying read the next one!
this series is absolutely effing epic!! ... Ivy and her guys are dealing with Xander's past that is trying to capture the pack ... and wtf was that ending!!! ... hanging off the cliff waiting for the next book!
This book is a drag you in and spit you out at the end. It's full of life, love, growth in relationships. It is one hell of a ride that you will wish didn't stop. Overall let's just say book 3 did not disappoint.
Whyyyy!!!!! That cliffhanger is going to haunt me till I get the next book! This book had so much detail in it I feel like I read 2 books, it was fantastic! Ivy and her men are amazing!! Ivy comes into her Alpha independence a little in this book but I can definitely see her growing more and more I can't wait to see how she handles things in the next book!
I’m pretty sure I had a whole scope of emotions while reading this. So much angst. That cliffhanger was just cruel. Now I’m super excited for the next book.
