Something’s up with the Paranormal Temp Agency, and I’m going to find out what that is. For my last two assignments, the cat boss Mr. Fluffikins had to drag me in kicking and screaming. This time around, I’m all too willing to play their little game. It’s high time I learned why they plucked me from my ordinary everyday life and thrust me into this crazy new world filled with danger and magic.
But it’s not going to be easy. Especially when the PTA orders me to help resident vampire Connie investigate a new coven that’s just popped up in our sleepy little town of Beech Grove. For this mission, they grant me temporary vampire status—and all the perks and the punishments that come with it.
The real kicker? If we don’t solve this one soon, I could be stuck as an immortal monster forever…
But that’s just how it goes when you’re a part-time vampire.
Molly Fitz is the quirky, cozy mystery pen name of USA Today bestselling author, Melissa Storm. And while she can't technically talk to animals, she and her doggie best friend, Sky Princess, have deep and very animated conversations as they navigate their days. Add to that, five more dogs, a snarky feline, comedian husband, and diva daughter, and you can pretty much imagine how life looks in the Casa de Fitz.
Molly lives in a house on a high hill in the Michigan woods and occasionally ventures out for good food, great coffee, or to meet new animal friends.
Now she’s a vampire, and the only one who can save tha local vampire from the bunch of other vampires? Come on! Usually for such a setting there must be a decent reason why this exact person. Ok, we get some kind of explanation out of the blue later. But it’s so artificial, just thrown into a reader without any good reason. That Cat Boss didn’t really know anything when he met her for the first time, how did he bumped into such a super-creature, while being an extremely normal person? I know, there are plenty of settings and tropes like that, but much less disappointing and annoying when narrated properly.
Tawny decides she doesn't want to be just a temp. She was supposed to only do one job and then have her memory wiped. For some reason the wipe didn't work. Now she is ready for something else. Mr. Fluffikins hinted that there was something else about her, but he wouldn't say what is different about her, but there is something. For a new assignment, she needs to be temporarily turned into a vampire and doing so, changes everything about her. If she doesn't finish the assignment in 48 hours, she will stay a vampire. She is doing all this to get the information about what she truly is. It is a big surprise and she can't tell anyone or it will endanger their lives. Can she keep that secret?
Definitely one of my favourite series, which I devoured from beginning to end. Tawny is determined after her last two adventures with magic that she wants more and there is a secret PTA leader Fluffykins is keeping from her. Will he keep his promise to tell her after she helps with a new vampire problem. I can't wait the next book in this series
I enjoyed this book but it did seem very short. Everything seemed to wrap up very quickly (despite my kindle still telling me I had an hour of reading to go) and then it suddenly took a twist and became a lot more interesting. I am not normally a vampire fan ( my least favourite supernatural creature, as they just creep me out) but this is a cozy paranormal and there is no blood sucking so don't let that put you off, in fact the own power that you get to read about is there super strength and speed. The characters are fun but I think you get to know them a lot better in the previous books and this book isn't as funny as the others. This book mainly concentrates on Connie and you learn more about what makes her tick. The Paranormal Temp Agency is in for a shake up in the next book and I can't wait. Tawny wants to know what the boss of The Paranormal Temp Agency, Mr Fluffikins, knows and isn't telling her. Armed with a number of steaks she breaks into the offices and gets more than she bargains for. Somehow Tawny finds her herself agreeing to be turned into a Vampire to help Connie get rid of a new coven of vampires that think they can move into her territory. Tawny just needs to survive the night and then Mr Fluffikins will tell her what she wants to know. But is she ready? I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
“This isn’t about what’s fair,” he whispered as we approached the restaurant and began to mix with other pedestrians on the street. “It’s about what gets the job done."
It's only been a span of a few weeks and Tawny has yet ANOTHER assignment with the Paranormal Temp Agency. The past two she's been coerced into. This one has answers to questions no one's going to answer without another mission fulfilled. And this time she has to work with Connie, the one being in the agency she's not exactly a fan . For this job, she's given temporary powers that have a time frame. Can she finish the task before the time runs out and she stuck as a vampire forever? And what's Fluffikins hiding anyway? Will she ever find out? Does she want to find out?
How could you not like someone with bubblegum pink hair? So, it was a mistake that couldn't be changed, but it kind of grows on you like these characters do. I just love this series, and I'm sure you will too. Highly Recommended 5/5
[disclaimer: I received this book from the author and voluntarily chose to read and review it]
Tawny Bigford is a part-time romance novelist and a part-time employee of the Paranormal Temp Agency (PTA.) When her boss, a black cat named Mr. Fluffikins calls her Tawny must drop everything and return to PTA headquarters and begin any assignment given. When Tawny is stunned to discover that Magic is real and was given the opportunity to experience it, she finds herself wanting more and more magic. When every other “normie”, is used for a PTA job, their memories are wiped but Tawny remembers everything. Today’s assignment is to become temporary vampire and work closely with Vampire Connie to infiltrate and discover who the new vampires in town are and let them know that there is no room for another Vampire coven in the small town. Will Tawny be an asset as a temporary vampire, or will she become a permanent one if she doesn’t meet the deadline she has been given? This is such a fun series. I wonder what new assignment Tawny will have in the next book. I can hardly wait to find out. This is my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book.
After two involuntary cases working for the Paranormal Temp Agency, you'd think Tawny would have had enough. Problem is, as a normie, she's found the magic she's allowed while working is addictive. For this reason she stops by the PTA headquarters to insist on being given another job. This time, she's not a witch or a psychic, she "gets" to be a vampire. She's not too thrilled about that, especially when she finds out that it could become permanent. In any case she sets out to help Connie, the real vamp, to keep another coven of vampires from moving into town and taking over. Do things go wrong? Will her love life suffer from lack of a heart? What exactly is she anyway? And will the insufferable Mr Fluffikins ever answer any questions about what in the Goddess's green earth is going on?
Tawny moved to Beech Grove to write books but was soon caught up with the Paranormal Temp Agency. She's done two jobs with them and knows that there's something she's not being told so she goes prepared to get answers. But to get them, she has to do another job as a temporary vampire to help Connie investigate a new vampire coven in town.
I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my honest, voluntary review. I have really enjoyed this series and this book is no exception. It's a quick, fun read with wonderful characters. I was pulled into this well-written story from the beginning and read it in one sitting. I'm looking forward to the next book and I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order for the most enjoyment and benefit.
Another 4 star read! I love the magical system that the author has created here. So. Many. Potential. And all of them are exciting! I love it! The adventure itself is not that awesome. But well, I love world-building and character-driven stories so I will ease up on the criticism.
I did realize that the content of Merlin Kills A Zombie is actually not included in this series. I guess that's fine. I still want to know more about Drake and Jacob though.
As usual, this was amazing, can't wait for the next installation etc.
I just finished the book, and I could not wait to write a review. The book is awesome. The characters are well developed and fun. The book takes place in a small town in Georgia. There are the normie's and the paranormal. The paranormal work out of the PTA. Or the Paranormal Temp Agency. Mr. Fluffikins. Is the boss and he is a cat. Tawny finds out a huge secret and complete 's another mission. I received this ARC for an honest review, and this is honest. I love all of Molly Fritz's books. Waiting impatiently for the next book.
This time Tawny has to find out about a new coven in the town. But she discovers there can't be 2 in the same town. That causes problems. Tawny doesn't want to be a vampire either. Mr. Fluffikins promises to tell her the truth about what she is if she solves this case. He has not been trustworthy when it comes to fulfilling his promises, however. What she learns at the end of the story really surprises her & just raises more questions for her. An excellent story I very much enjoyed & can't wait for the next one. I received an ARC. This is my voluntary review.
I know this isn't the first book in this series, but it's the first one I've read. Regardless of that, I still enjoyed this book very much. Something big is happening in Beech Grove, and everyone is gathered to try and find out what. And to stop it. Many very important things are revealed along the way, and Mr. Fluffikins is indeed concerned. Tawny tries to figure everything out herself, but is unable. Mr Fluffikins has the answers and she needs them. Now. Read the book to find out. You won't be sorry.
Tawny is determined to find what her real ability is. After her last two experiences with the PTA she just doesn’t feel quite normal. So, she shows up at the agency and gets no answers. But now she has a new job. There’s a new restaurant in town and it’s run by vampires. And there’s not room in this town for more vampires.
This is a fun series. Romance writer vs magics. I enjoy the characters and can’t wait to see what’s next.
Something's definitely up with this new addition to the series packs a few punches and kept me on the edge of my seat. I think the author does a great job reestablishing Tawny's connection or fit at the paranormal temp agency and also allows readers to get to know more about vampire Connie, not to mention Tawny's love interest possibilities. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Fluffikins, a witch and a vampire come together to…..? Well, I’m not sure what they are planning but it is entertaining and suspenseful. And now there is a new vampire in town. Poor Tawny has a hard time keeping up with her ever-changing role and powers which are suppose to be gone. This was an fun story, not sure if it is good against evil or not. Molly Fitz has done it again. Look forward to the next one.
This is such a fun little series, and it was fun to be back in Tawny's world. I had a lot of questions, and against the seemingly likely odds, I wanted Tawny to beat the clock and get all of her answers. As the story went along, thing got even more curious. I enjoyed the twists and turns in this one. The ending was terrific, but it left me with more questions and a burning desire for the next book in the series!
Last of the current books where Tawny has to become a vampire—she accomplishes the mission and does not stay a vampire but the cat knows better. She accomplishes some scary things but has to keep what she is to herself and this isn’t the last book—not sure when the next one will be out but at least I have a chance to read other books while I am waiting. Read the current trio and like me you won’t be able to stop.
Vampire for Hire (Paranormal Temp Agency Book 3) by Molly Fitz is an amazing story to read. This is book number three in this amazing series that I have been so hooked on. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about paranormal and vampires.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
Tawny gets a third temp job with the Paranormal Temp Agency, this time as a vampire.
With her temporary vampire she works with another vampire, Connie, to try and get the coven to leave. As it turns out the coven is up to more than staking a claim in Beech Grove.
Parker, the he town witch, decides that he does want to pursue a relationship with Tawny, but as a vampire she can’t feel anything.
As the truth come out, Tawny finds out that she isn’t the average ordinary norm or she thought she was.
Vampire for Hire is an interesting and engaging addition to the Paranormal Temp Agency series. I enjoy the variety as Tawny is "hired" for a different job in each book. This time she has to be a vampire - which is obviously uncomfortable. You will not want to miss the interesting twists in this well written story. The ending packs a big wallop!
The Paranormal Temp Agency series by Molly Fitz is always a fun read, especially for those days when you just want to stay in. Lighthearted, witty, magical, and a joy to read. Book 3, Vampire for Hire, stays true to those qualities and begins to expand the world and the magical lore, and Tawny begins to understand the role she plays in all of it. And what's there not to love about a bossy black cat who just wants to be fed? I can't wait for book 4!
What a true cozey mystery is when you put an array of paranormal characters into the mix Molly Fitz gives you a it in spades. Vibrant, colorful, exotic and feisty. Tawney and her new companions are growing in size and strength. Ms.Fitz has thrown in a frightening surprise you just won't want to miss so acquire "Vampire for Hire "today so you yourself can enjoy it as much as I have. 😏😎😀🙂 Kat 👍👍
My only complaint is that I wish the book was longer! If you're looking for something fun and filled with magic with a bit of romance, you should enjoy this series. This one can be read on its own, but I would recommend starting the series from the beginning for maximum enjoyment!
Tawny has had enough and she is going to get some answers. I love Mr. Fluffikins - so very funny. Tawny's next case involves vampires - love vampires. Some secrets are revealed and a love connection is finally made. Looking forward to book 4.
Vampire for Hire is a fun and interesting book. I really enjoyed it. I like the characters and enjoyed getting to know them more in this book. This book is well written and engaging. I can't wait to read to the next book and see what is in store next.
It all started by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. But as Tawny was temporarily given powers need to do a job it awakened her true magical powers. This is a total about face.
Tawny just wants to write her romance novels and make enough money to get by and stay under the radar. She gets pulled into situations that stretch her and make her grow. Ah, challenges--hate to live with them, can't live without them. In this book, she learns much more about herself. What's next?
This is the third book in the series and Tawny still has magic. Mr Fluffikins decides to have her help with a new case by giving her vampire magic as well and this leads to new powers, new discoveries, and Tawny finding out more about herself than she ever knew! I really enjoy this fun series.
