The race is on in a battle of brains and brawn for the ultimate prize—until the competition turns deadly. Time for Keystone’s annual festival—only it hasn’t been so annual in recent years. The highlight of the festivities? The Keystone Scavenger Hunt. In a town with gladiator-style potlucks, it isn’t surprising that the quirky residents are just as competitive about treasure seeking.
Teams race from location to location across the village, battling wits and weapons, to reach the prize. Each clue is a riddle or puzzle related to Keystone Village’s past. It requires some serious analytical skills—along with the ability to withstand a stink bomb or two. And Ella, Wink, and Flo are in the thick of it.
However, the fun comes to a grinding halt when they come across a skeleton. They think it’s a woman who vanished thirty years ago near the very same spot, and her death doesn’t appear to be an accident. When Sheriff Chapman suspends the treasure hunt, Ella finds out a friend and fellow competitor is being questioned about the death.
Past mistakes come to light, mistakes someone is trying hard to keep hidden.
But that’s the thing about secrets—they don’t stay buried.
A laugh-out-loud mystery full of adventure, twists, coffee, and friendship.
Absolutely hysterical at times. I love reading this series. The author reminds me of Janet Evanoich= Stephanie Plum and Amanda M Lee.and her differential series that can have the reader in stitches.
After I read #8, I thought this series was over, but we are back for a new story in Festival Felony. This entry deals with a scavenger hunt and solving a cold case and a fairly recent case, which just might tie together. No town jumping takes place but there are still repercussions from their last jump that are being dealt with. From where this story ends, I'm sure there will be future stories. Yay!
While I have not read all the books in this series, I have enjoyed the ones I've read immensely. I love the idea of a time-traveling town, especially one where mysteries continue to pop up. The central mystery in this one revolves around a skeleton found during a scavenger hunt, part of the annual celebration of the town. Like all good cozies, this one has a great cast of quirky characters that are such fun to revisit, and the author balances the “cozy” and the “mystery” parts of this well. As always, I look forward to the next book in the series.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Another good story in the series. I am so hooked on these.
I was a little put off on this one because it seems that Ella is digressing and becoming more immature. I don't even see how Will could still be attracted to her anymore. She is proud that she vomits on people? She shovels food like a starving dog and shows little respect for herself and others.
I did like the story, a scavenger hunt, missing person cold case and that fact that Ella admits to what drives her to get involved in the murders, and her guilt.
I enjoyed and chuckled out loud at some of her antics and descriptions of the aftereffects of Flo's explosive inventions. And look forward to more of Kai's reactions to the taste of what we consider common food that would not have existed in his time stream.
The town might be tiny and it travels, but it has the same problems as any town. These towns people, trapped in a tiny universe, from all eras and walks of life, have become a town and a family. But they have the same drama and problems as everywhere, Envy, jealousy, cheating spouses, and murder. And Elle is especially drawn to solving murder. Along with a whole host of characters. Crazy, funny, eccentric, wonderful characters. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Because of the time travel aspect, this series is not my cup of tea despite giving it a second chance. Was the skeleton found during the scavenger hunt of one that was suppose to have leapt out to Egypt or someone that vanished 30 years ago or is that one at the same because of the time travel? It was just too confusing for me that it took me halfway through the book to finally figure it out.

I have read most in this series and this one did not disappoint. Ella, WInk and Flo are up to their eyeballs in the Keystone Scavenger Hunt. A skeleton is found, and its looking like she was murdered. Who is she and what happened to her and by who? Guess you will have to read the book to get the answers. I love this series, it contains romance, mystery and laughs.

I never thought that time travel could be so fun. The characters are cute and fun. The mystery is very intriguing and reading this book in the series was really enjoyable. I cannot wait for another one.

I enjoy all of the books in this series and look forward to reading the next book in the series. I would recommend this series to teens through seniors
This series is the funnest series I've ever read. It's a gem and I hope there are many, many more! It's in my top 5 favorite series now, along with George RR Martins's, Robin Hobbs's, Darynda Jones's, and the Innkeeper series by Ilona Andrews.
