Catwad and Blurmp venture out of the living room and into the world in this hilarious graphic novel! Attending a comic convention, taking a swim deep inside a toilet bowl, gazing into the future with Blurmp’s crystal ball, shredding on guitar, and horseback riding are just a few adventures in this laugh-out-loud collection. It’s the zaniest Catwad yet!
Benton began his career in a custom design t-shirt shop where he started designing his own characters. At the same time, Jim did illustrations and artwork for magazines and newspapers. People magazine named him "the most visible cartoonist in America" .
Benton also created greeting cards and worked in the magazine and publishing industry. In 1998, his SpyDogs characters became an animated series, The Secret Files of the Spy Dogs, that aired on Fox Kids. Licensing his own creations brought them widespread attention on products, such as It's Happy Bunny, The Misters, Just Jimmy and more.
Benton currently lives in Michigan, where he operates out of his own studio.
In the odd couple tradition of Ren & Stimpy (but very child friendly) we have Catwad & Blurmp - two cats who are best friends trying to get by day by day. Catwad/introvert and Blurmp/extrovert pass that glass back and forth; and we all laugh at how empty/full life really is. Will look for more books in this series.
I love the Catwad series. I’ve been buying the paperbacks for my kids and the Kindle version for myself. Great emoji fodder from the elaborate expressions.
This book has a lot of childish humor. My eight year old grandson laughed wildly as he read it to me, and gave it five stars! A good book to excite young boys about reading. It is cleverly written and illustrated.
I questioned whether I should include this in my yearly review, but I decided to because it was a cute memory. While sitting and waiting for a table with my nephew, we checked out this book from my library's online collection. We read most of it out loud together and he finished it at the table. As he finished, he told us "Five Stars for Catwad!" so, for that wonderful lunch at Fitz's, I give Catwad: You're Making Me Six 5 stars.
