Language Change, Poetry, Politics, and Common Usage

Rate this book
The five essays published in this volume were delivered as lectures at the symposium "Language Change; Poetry, Politics and Common Usage," which was brought into being by the Cranbrook Educational Community in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, taking place in March of 2000. The contributors are: David F. Armstrong, Roderick Watt, CD Wright, Olga Meerson and Bruce Sterling. Each essay addresses the subject of language change from a tantalizing and individual perspective. In each case, the assumptions and the methods of approach respond to contemporary anxieties.
