Falling for the Stars #3

Rebel Roommate: Falling for an Aquarius

Rate this book
Growing up, I had one rule: stay away from my brother’s best friend.

It was easy to follow. I spent my years avoiding the boys on the baseball team, studying hard, and saving every dime I could. When I was accepted to transfer into UC Berkeley, I needed a place to live, and my brother had a free room off-campus.

Win-win, right? Except that best friend I was determined to stay away from is now my new roommate.

My very naughty, very rebellious roommate, Wesley Knight.

The boy who was once the bane of my existence with his constant teasing is now a drop-dead gorgeous athlete. He’s the life of the party, but I can’t have fun. According to Wes, no guys are allowed to talk to me.

Well, two can play at this game. If I can’t date, then neither can he.

It starts off as innocent fun. Some half-naked yoga or a little flirting until an interrupted moment of self-gratification turns things dangerous … for my body and my heart.

Living with my brother and his best friend has me breaking all the rules. I just have to decide if the consequences are worth the reward.

When I was little, my mom was part of the Double Day book club. She had piles and piles of books lying around the house; most of them with Fabio-esque men and a scantily clad woman set in a different century. I made up stories in my head just from looking at the covers.

When I as 9, I wrote stories using my best friend as a muse. They were romances...but for the 9-year-old. She was the only one who read them.

When I was 14, another friend gave me a Marian Keyes novel. I fell in-love with her wit, and humor with a dark side. This was my first experience with realistic fiction.

When I was 19, Nicholas Sparks forever changed my views on relationships. I learned what true love could be beautiful and difficult at the same time. I wanted it.

When I was 22, Jeannette Wells made me feel more emotion from an autobiographical novel than I thought possible. I wanted to be her.

When I was 30, Jamie McGuire and Colleen Hoover introduced me to the world of self-publishing. For the first time I thought: I could give this a try someday.

When I was 32, my someday came.

Rebel Roommate by Jeannine Colette and Lauren Runow is part of the Falling For The Stars series. In this book our hero is an Aquarius. This is a brother’s best friend romance.

Stacey Brightmore attended her first two years of college at a community college and lived at home. She’s been accepted to the same school her brother Chad, who is one year older is attending, UC Berkeley. She’ll also be sharing an apartment with her brother, along with her brother’s best friend, Wes. Wes and Chad made her teenage years impossible. They managed to warn off any boy who might have even glanced in her direction. She hasn’t seen Wes in three years, since they left for college. The Wes she is looking at now is all grown up in the best of ways. Is this where she should admit she’s always had a crush on Wes, probably since middle school?

Wesley (Wes) Knight is a senior at Berkeley. He and Chad have been best friends since they were ten years old. Chad’s family had accepted him into their home countless times. It was his refuge. Chad only had one rule, one promise he reminded Wes of over the years, stay away from my sister. And he has tried to keep his promise. But now, this twenty one year old version of Stacey has moved into their apartment and he knows it’s going to be impossible to keep his distance.

“Wesley Knight is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. One moment, he’s funny, and he does these surprisingly kind gestures for others. The next, he’s a bad boy seducer who riles me up in the worst way.”

As we slowly get to know Wes, it doesn’t take long to realize there’s a lot more to him than meets the eye. Both Wes and Chad are on the school baseball team. They are like royalty on campus. Wes has been no angel the first three years of college. He knows he can never be good enough for Stacey. But as soon as she walked through that door, he only had eyes for her. No one else was going to ever be able to measure up.

This was a sexy, sweet story of two people who have been drawn to each other since childhood. Their chemistry is through the roof. But there is a code, you don’t mess with your best friend’s sister. If Wes gives in to what he really wants, then will he have to give up a lifelong friendship? Because he won’t be able to have both.

This has been such an enjoyable series, each book a different astrology zodiac sign. The characters were young so I had a little bit of trouble relating to them but that’s on me. I hope you enjoy getting to know an Aquarius. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Rebel Roommate was so much...MORE...than what I thought I was getting. I adored the first 2 books in this zodiac themed series, but Wes and Stacey's romance TOPS THEM ALL as of now.

Oh my gosh, this story was filled with witty banter, jealous alphaholeness, unbelievable sexual tension, and so many feeeels, y'all. Wes destroyed me. The short POV we get from him cracked me wide open. I will admit he exasperated me quite a bit UNTIL HIS POV. His inner thoughts were so sad. His self-loathing. But at the same time we got to hear his side of their history and it. Was. BEAUTIFUL. I'm talking 100% swoon-worthy man right here!

I really liked Stacey. When her mom said she bulldozed through life and always got what she wanted, she was right. But it was done in a way that was sweet and genuine. I thoroughly enjoyed her character.

The plot, the steam, the romance. All of it was written with so much passion and emotions it was almost unreal. This book blew me away. I'm so glad I stumbled across these new-to-me authors at the end of 2020, because this little series is quickly becoming a favorite of mine!

Jeannine Colette and Lauren Runow, have created a steamy forbidden new adult romance, with a heroine who falls for her brother’s best friend/ roommate. In order to be closer to school, Stacey moves in with her brother and his pestering best friend, Wesley. Though still the bane of her existence, the attraction between Stacey and Wesley becomes undeniable. However, a friendly seductive game of revenge, quickly erupts into uncontrollable desire. Leading them to succumb to their feelings, and to keep their affair a secret. Unfortunately, not all secrets can be kept quite… Rebel Roommate is a quick read, with sizzling chemistry.

Many thanks to Jeannine Colette, Lauren Runow, and @wordsmithpublicity for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed many things about this story. The brother’s best friend trope is one I like to read. The taboo, the sneaking around, the secrets, the thrill of almost getting caught.

It was obvious from the moment Stacey walked through the door that Wes thought of Stacey as more than Chad’s little sister. From the comments to his teammates, to sitting next to her on the couch, to the heated looks.

The flirting and the banter between these two was fun and sometimes blurred the line. The teasing and the taunting was entertaining. Their friendship was cute, the chemistry between them was strong. When they both finally gave in and acted on their feelings, they definitely brought passion to the pages. And the steam levels were high.

But nothing that good can last forever, right? They were bound to get caught. And boy, did they get caught.

I’m thinking my age may be a factor as to why I couldn’t relate to the characters at times. But that is my fault, I am much I’m older than them, LOL. That being said, I was able to get over it and move on and enjoy much of the story.

And I must mention, I didn’t care for Stacey’s brother. Chad made it hard to like him. His reaction to finding out about them was over the top cruel. His words were harsh and hurtful to a long-time best friend. I understand him being upset and wanting to protect his sister, but really, it was none of his business. Chad was a douche. There, I said it.

Thank goodness for the chapter from Wes’s POV. To get into his head helped, and brought me back to loving the story. The last couple of chapters definitely made me happier. The swoony gestures from Wes made me smile big.

I would’ve liked an HEA instead of an HFN. But overall, it was an enjoyable story.

I’m curious to see what the next sign will be!

Anyone who has ever had older brothers growing up knows what it was like (like me)!  There were always those friends that teased, and then there were those that didn't even talk to you. But there was also always that special one that went out of his way to notice you (even if it was in a teasing way) that made you feel special and gave you that feeling…. butterflies.

This is that story. When Stacey goes to live with her brother Chad, she gets the bonus of getting Wes as an additional roommate, Chad's childhood friend.  And yep, of course, he was that special friend of her brother's that gave her that feeling when she was younger. Unfortunately she always was given the impression by him that he only saw her as a little sister. Guess again!!!!

They instantly reverted to their old tricks of teasing each other, but you could feel the sexual tension rising. But Wes is adamant they cannot be together because of a promise he made to Chad years ago.  Some promises are made to be broken! They get to a point where they just can't hold back and you know shit will eventually hit the fan.

I really loved the book and all the characters! Stacey's family was awesome!

Loved the part when they were all out to dinner and their banter! It was all just so real....no bullshit.
This whole series has been great... highly recommend them all!

Thank you to Jeannine for an ARC of this book! You rock!

ARC received for an honest review

I have been very much enjoying this series, and Rebel Roommate was no exception.

Although to me, it should have been called Douchey Brother instead of Rebel Roommate, as our lovely Stacey's brother Chad was a PITA and I found him pretty much unlikable.

However, our lovelies Stacey and Wes were 😍

I love the tension between the Stacey and Wes - they say fighting is foreplay, and you know these two are going to be explosive if they ever get their act together. They are so cute and adorable and frustrating, but I couldn't help but cheer for them.

Wes, now I have a cdouple of issues with the man, but they could just be my issues. I wish we got more of what happened in his past. We have all this stuff alluded to, but it was not until we got more info and I got right into his head that I understood all his actions.

And through it all, I still disliked the brother Chad hahah - have I said that already?

Full of flirty banter, alphaholes, and frat boys, Rebel Roommate was a fun read, and a great addition to the Signs series.

5* Sexy Wes Stars

I absolutely loved Rebel Roommate. I think this is the best book in the Zodiac Series so far as it has a bit of everything, romance, angst, and heartache. It was very well written, and the story flowed well. The relationship between Wes and Stacey was heartfelt and real and their sexual attraction was undeniably hot. I was routing for them throughout the book as they had to overcome their obstacles forbidding them to be together. The banter between them was witty and entertaining.

I highly recommend this great sports romance which was full of feels and emotions.

An ARC was received, all opinions are my own.

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire! This one is an inferno!
Covering all the bases in this off the charts hot story!
Every story in this series is fun, but this one has a serious heat factor going on!

Stacey and Wes have the fun back and forth banter but when things switch up , watch out!
Game on!

Oh, I am a puddle of goo right now! I just finished this book and it was exactly what I needed! These two authors are my favorite duo writers, they sync so seamless together you would never know they aren't one person! And the books they put out are AMAZING! I love everything they write! This new Zodiac series is so good and I'm so excited because we still have 10 more to go!

Wes is such a deep, dark, tormented soul. Underneath he is just a lonely little boy looking to be accepted and loved. He has found that with the Brightmores and doesn't want to do anything to jeopardize that. Chad has been his best friend since he was 10 and the only person who has loved him unconditionally. Stacey has borne their merciless teasing all through school and their chasing away of any boys who were interested in her. It was like having two big brothers except one definitely wasn't her brother. At least not in her eyes. She has harbored feelings for Wes since 7th grade when he gave her her first kiss playing Spin the Bottle. So when she moves in with Chad and Wes her Junior year at Berkeley, their "Three's Company" situation becomes a hotbed of emotions.

The chemistry, the tension, the burning desire, the heated stares; I could feel it all as I devoured this book, and man did I! In gulps! Poor Wes never had a chance once bananas and yoga came into play! Give me a broody man with abs in grey sweats any day! My heart was swooning over Wes! And the nursing home had my ovaries doing a jig! Stacey and Wes were made for each other! Not to say they didn't have their hurdles to get over! Chad's rules were understandable but also unreasonable. But we do get our HFN and a sweet Epilogue.

This is the 2nd in the Falling for the Stars series and so far my favorite! Lauren and Jeannine have set a pretty high bar for the rest of the series, but I have no doubt they will blow us all away with these Astrology Romances! I. Can. Not. Wait!

I admit I'm a tad sad it skipped over the Capricorn sign which I was looking forward to but I still enjoyed this one. I was easily caught up in this brother's best friend sports themed story. Stacey moved to Berkeley her junior year to finish her degree. She moved into a spare room her brother Chad shares with his buddy Wes. Wesley and Stacey never got a long as kids always arguing. They have an established bickering thing even in the start. It has all the makings if repressed feelings.

Stacey is egged on to test that theory out and all those little moments was definitely ramping up the sexual tension. I see Wes as the guy who baits her way back when as a way to tease her. Pulling her hair to kind notice him stuff. Wes' overprotective side gives him away and though he had a rough childhood his connection with the siblings are strong. Of course there was opposition from her big brother making Wes and Stacey's flirting more forbidden.

The feelings are still confused and it's only time when it alls boils over. I was eager to see how it plays out. They had so much history that was good and while they floundered a bit. The whole realization of why they kept at each others they couldn't fight it anymore. When things get hard though it will be test if this is all worth it. The pacing of the transition from semi hate to friends to way more was well done.

I find this Zodiac themed series interesting to delve into the characters of the guys. I wouldn't really think about it. Funny enough I have a hard time with heroines but so far I've liked the heroines. I like it blends romance with other things like relationships, family and life. The heroes are much like their horoscope counterparts but with added dimension.

ANOTHER SPARKLING ROMANCE WRITTEN IN THE STARS

“Wesley Knight is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He’s my deep, dark secret.”
Sigh, and yes, he’s a typical Aquarius, so our darling heroine has her work cut out for her …

This is another hands-down vote for the Zodiac of Love men. One of our fave author duos has crafted a bona fide hit series that blends Cupid with signs of the Zodiac heroes. This 3rd book in the series tamps down the hilarity a bit from the more comedic treatment and banter of the previous two heroes, but no less entertaining, charming, and brimming with sighworthy romance that made my romantic heart go pitty-pat. So listen up because that means every book and hero WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT be a carbon copy, cookie cutter of each other. Yeehaw! No resting on a repetitive formula, and I can’t wait for each book yet to come. The consummate writing duo has given us fun, charismatic, and utterly feel-good tales of romance with MCs that give as a good as they get, which is so needed right now. I let myself slip into each imaginative story with a smile on my face and a happy hitch in my heart, knowing that an HEA is just around the corner. Stacey and Wes are a constellation all their own.

Batter up in REBEL ROOMMATE is irresistible, collegiate baseball player and quintessential Aquarian Wesley Knight who is literally in a knightly battle of will and heart over naughty thoughts and repressed feelings for his bestie’s younger sis, Stacey. They’ve avoided any sort of crossing the line in the past – except for that one memorable kiss -- until Stacey transfers to her brother’s college and rooms with him and Wes. A chemical reaction of the heart is about to explode as they spend time together under the same roof. He’s now all grown up into a panty melting Adonis, and she’s not an annoying little kid anymore – the one he nicknamed “Squid”, to her annoyance. Their pranks on each other were legendary, but now it just heightens the sexual tension. Let the games begin.

I got such a kick out of Stacey’s sassy mouth, lady balls, and how he drove her absolutely nuts: “If I don’t want to kiss him, I want to slap him.” Their relationship is a slow, seductive build, while Wes uses self-control to protect Stacey from guys like him, but still desires her at the same time. Their sexy bickering and push-pull relationship hits a few snags caused by all that whiplash from unpredictable Wes’s flip floppy personality and inner demons that keep him from taking what he wants. And then there's the big brother ... For all the flirty fun, there’s also a more serious side to inner Wes than the other heroes. There's alot on his plate ... not just home plate. Will this romance be a shut-out before it even gets past first base?

“I never stopped dreaming about Stacey. There were no consequences in dreams.”

There’s infectious fun, sexy times, and plenty of headbutting and emotional catharses ahead. Jump in and experience this couple’s emotional tennis match. All that ping-ponging nearly crossed my eyes. Bask in all the sides of Wes, and find out just what a good guy he really is when he finally slides into home plate. And when those sexy times hit – ahem – “that “O” wasn’t made in a moment. It was years in the making.”

Loved, loved, loved this new book in the Zodiac themed series. It was full of melty moments and good hearted fun that this writing duo has perfected.

Stacey and Wes jump off the page with their chemistry from the very beginning. Their history of growing up together, even though Wes was her brother's best friend, you could tell that Stacey and Wes shared a history together, one where their teasing and name calling tangled them into a relationship that could be messy, but also would be passionate once they gave into their desires.

While Wes and Stacey were wicked with their back and forth banter, they were even more so with their steamy passion. While Wes struggles between wanting Stacey and keeping his lifelong friendship with Chad in tact, their passion brews and bubbles, but kept in secret as neither want to upset the balance in the relationship with Stacey's brother.

Each book in this series is completely unique. The only similar features are keeping to the astronomical theme, which sets up what traits the hero will have and what has become my favorite part the chapter where the book is told from his POV. As the entire book is mainly told from the heroines POV, there is always a tipping point where we receive insight from the hero and in Rebel Roommate, Wes completely broke my heart. He feels he's broken beyond repair and in his musings I wanted to wrap that man up in a giant hug.

Jeannine and Lauren have perfected their craft as a writing duo and Rebel Roommate is not only steamy, but packed full of emotions, and excellent banter. It was a true pleasure to read.

Rebel Roommate is the 3rd book in the Falling For The Stars zodiac themed series. This book focuses on the Aquarius man. This story included sports romance, brother's best friend romance and forbidden romance tropes and I was hooked until the end. This was Wes and Stacey's story. These two had excellent back and forth banter and I really liked them together. The story was sweet and steamy with some emotional moments, some hilarious moments and some swoony moments when combined made this another excellent story by this writing duo. I really enjoyed Rebel Roommate and would highly recommend it to all romance lovers.

Forbidden, brothers best friend/best friends sister. Stacey is moving in with her brother and his best friend. Continuing her college years at a new University, she wants to focus on her studies and not let anything distract her, but Wesley is throwing a wrench in it all. There is so much more than meets the eye with Wes. Baseball player, popular and really falling for his best friends sister. But, he has alot of issues when it comes to relationships and Stacey is breaking all his walls down.

I really enjoyed their story. You could feel the uber amounts of chemistry between these two. Goodnessssssss. This was such a good addition to the series!!! As much as I was annoyed with her brother, Chad, I'm curious to see if he will get his book.

I adored Stacey and Wesley in Jeannine Colette and Lauren Runow’s Rebel Roommate. Stacey and Wesley had great chemistry from the opening pages to the very end. This story is refreshing with such strong characters. I found myself laughing out loud at some of the stuff Stacey Wes through. This brother’s best friend romance is a great addition to the duo’s zodiac series. A must read!

Check out all my reviews and romance book lists on my romance book blog, She Reads Romance Books!

I am so loving this zodiac themed book series from this author duo. With Rebel Roommate, we get an Aquarius hero in this college romance between a girl and her brother’s best friend.

A Good College Romance
This is definitely a book for college romance lovers.

Stacey transfers to UC Berkeley as a junior and moves into an apartment with her brother, Chad and his best friend Wesley.

There’s already history and tension between Stacey and Wesley since he’s been teasing her since he became friends with her brother when they were 10.

Only Stacey and Wesley haven’t seen each other for three years until she moves in.

You could tell from their first run-in (Wesley coming out of the bathroom after showering, wrapped only in a towel!) that the tension was going to be high and the chemistry off the charts with these two.

Don’t they say that when you’re young someone teases you to hide that they really like you? That’s definitely the case with Wesley.

He’s constantly calling her “Squid,” a nickname she can’t stand and constantly getting in the way of his baseball teammates who try to get to know Stacey because he secretly wants her for himself- always has.

I loved how he’s constantly showing up at whatever party scene she is at and looking out for her all the while fueling the tension between them.

The best part is when she turns the table on him and starts to tease him or block him from getting with any girl.

The banana scene for one was hilarious!

While I liked the tension brewing between them and the history we learn about Wesley’s home life to get into his head a bit, I thought Chad’s reaction to their relationship was a bit over the top.

Knowing his history and issues, I would have thought Chad and Stacey would have been more sympathetic to Wesley rather than having the onus on him to beg for forgiveness.

Their mom’s reaction more than made up for it though!

If you’re a fan of romance books with a love match between a little sister and a brother’s best friend, this is a read for you.

Authors Jeannine Colette and Lauren Runow “knocked it out of the park” with Rebel Roommate, the newest release in the Falling For The Stars romance series! This brother’s best friend romance was just what I needed to get my fix of my favorite trope! It was SO damn good!!!

Wes (Wesley Delmont Knight) is an Aquarius, a catcher on the UC Berkeley baseball team, a roommate to Stacey’s brother Chad…and now a roommate to Stacey as well. He has deep hidden feelings and a difficult past, which has made his attitude toward relationships less than desirable.

The reason why many people have difficulty understanding Wes is because he has contrasting personality traits. He is thoughtful, intellectual, independent, and confident. He can also be unpredictable, unemotional, and disconnected. Maybe that’s what Amanda meant when she said he’s a typical Aquarius.

Stacey (squid) Brightmore has just transferred to UC Berkeley, and to save money, becomes her brother and Wes’s roommate. Everyone has been warned to keep their hands (and other body parts) away from “Chad’s Sister”…by both Chad, and Wes…however…not everyone has the strength to keep this rule…especially when there is a history.

“I have a confession to make,” I breathe. “I cheated. I made it stop on you.” A huge smile graces his face. “I have a confession of my own.” “What’s that?” He comes forward, pushing me to my back on the wide bench in the dugout, sprawling me out as he lays his body over mine. “I watched you do it, and I didn’t stop you.”

I absolutely ADORE this writing duo! Lauren and Jeannine write an amazing storyline that keeps you so engaged in the story that you don’t want to stop reading! The characters are so fun, enjoyable, and relatable! I really loved not only Wes & Stacey, but the supporting characters, especially Chad, Nicole, Mom & Dad, Nathan, Matt and Amanda. This one made me miss my college days, made me cry, made me…hot!, gave me serious heartbreak, and filled my heart with happiness…ALL THE FEELS in this one! 5 Aquarius-loving stars!

4.5 stars!!

I have enjoyed this series and think this is a great addition. Wes and Stacey are a fun couple with some steamy scenes!!! I only wish that Wes’ POV was shared earlier in the story. I kept flipping chapters hoping to hear from him. When we finally do, though, it is a great addition to the storyline!

The HEA is satisfying and the story is complete. This book has a strong family theme and no cheating.

Phenomenal book from 2 of my favorite authors!! Wes and Stacy's story is the typical best friend amd younger sister budding romance yes... however, the back story or the behind the scenes part is what gets you.

You can be saying "awe" and swooning one second, then you want to strangle characters the next... its a back and forth thing amd I absolutely loved it!! Im anxious for more, but especially excited for Aries!

Each book in this "series" is better than the next. This was fun and steamy. Great back and forth between Stacey and Wes. With the added excitement of trying to stay away from someone she is drawn to, the pages flip by quickly as you search for them to get their happy ever after. I thoroughly enjoyed this - and you will too!!

OMG! REBEL ROOMMATE is a very good sports romance story that was brilliantly written, heartwarming, witty banter, and inner dialogue—it is definitely a breath of fresh air. An engaging story that will keep you captivated throughout this addictive page-turner. I was hooked from the very first page—laughing, swooning, fanning, and highlighting awesome quotes. I have to say, Lauren Runow and Jeannine Colette has done it again! I just fell in love with Wesley (Wes) Knight and Stacey Brightmore.

Wes and Stacey have known each other since middle school. Stacey is a year younger than Wes and her brother, but she has always had a crush on Wes. Wes is best friends and roommates with Chad, Stacey’s brother. Growing up, Wes has always teased Stacey along with her brother, and he protected her from other guys. When Stacey transfers to UC Berkeley, she needs lodging, and her brother has a room available. One problem—Wesley Knight lives there as well—her high school nemesis—someone that ghosted her after their kiss and broke her heart. But Wes is all grown up now with bulging biceps, tall, and a ripped torso that will make a girl salivate.

Wes also plays on the same baseball team as Stacey’s brother through high school and college. Ever since Wes and Chad were best friends, the one rule that Chad has always emphasized to Wes and his team mates—Stacey is off-limits!! The problem—Wes wants Stacey, but since it goes against the bro code, and he is not able to commit to a woman longer than a night, Wes does not want to jeopardize his friendship. Wes and Stacey’s attraction to each other is so intense, but the chemistry like the one they have can only be denied for so long. When something burns that hot it’s bound to explode eventually, right! They will fascinate you and frustrate you at the same time. Can Wesley let down his guard long enough to let love into his life, or is this forbidden romance a train wreck in the making, especially if Stacey’s brother finds out? Find out what happens between Wes and Stacey! Lauren Runow and Jeannine Colette has constructed a delectably sports romance that will lure you into the wee hours and beyond—you won’t regret reading this book! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Not gonna lie, I was disappointed in this book. I bought the preorder because I really, really enjoyed the previous 2 but this left me feeling sad that I’d spent the money. Some of it has to do with me. I don’t always love the college books, they tend to veer towards the immature with the frat parties, sleeping around and childish characters. This one wasn’t so bad in that aspect. One of the problems is I didn’t care for the characters. Wes is so wishy washy it becomes annoying. Plus I get that he’s trying to hide his relationship with Stacey but he still plays up that he’s sleeping around. Did he not think this through?!!!! I mean eventually he’s going to have to tell Chad (is best friend and Staceys brother) that they are dating. Wouldn’t it have been better to not pretend to be sleeping around with a bunch of other women? Then there’s Stacey. I just didn’t click with her, she was a forgettable character to me and that’s never a good thing. The story got better as the two started dating, granted secretly but still. Wes started opening up more and showing her the real him. The drama in the book is where I have a real issue. ***SPOILERS*** Chad, oh Chad you hypocritical jerk. Throughout the book I didn’t mind him, in fact I really enjoyed his girlfriend Nicole. However by the end of the book I did not care for him at all. So he comes home to the apartment and hears Wes and Stacey getting it on (not realizing at first that it’s his sister). So what does he do, leave and come back later? No of course not. He goes and knocks on the door saying keep it down bc his girlfriend is there. Forget the fact that Nicole’s roommate had made comments about how she’s sick of hearing them knock boots every night (hypocritical). Then he finds out it’s Stacey and he looses it. Yelling at him, saying mean cruel things. Telling him he’s incapable of love, that he’s not good enough. This was it for me, the point where I REALLY started to hate Chad. Wes was emotionally abused his whole life by his parents. The only love and loyalty he was shown was by His grandma and Chad’s family. To take all his insecurities (which Chad knew about) and throw that back at him was just downright cruel.) so Wes leaves, I mean the only people who have every loved him just said he wasn’t good enough. Stacey puts up a little bit of a fight but not much and when he leaves she doesn’t go after him or fight for him. So then for her and Chad to hold that against him is wrong. NO ONE has ever fought for Wes before and when things got tough Chad and Stacey both turned there backs. I know that’s not how it was written, that Stacey was heartbroken believing Wes only saw her as a challenge but she’s a smart girl she should have know otherwise. My favorite character of the book, Nicole, is the only one who continued to stand up for Wes.

“Wes has been through a lot. Chad’s told me all about it. I think he was in shock. I don’t think it’s over between you two, and I know it’s not over between him and Chad. Friends like that just don’t stop one day and never look back. Everyone just needs time. Things will calm down soon. Don’t give up hope.”

She’s the only one who saw it for what it was. A man who was hurt, tossed aside and emotionally battered. They do eventually get together and the way Wes does it is super cute. Overall I didn’t hate the book (I know it probably seems otherwise). I just hope the next book in the series is more on par with the first two rather then this one.

This was probably the hardest book I've ever read - I've been trying to wrote down a review for the past 5 days and every time I try I just end up being a crying mess.

This book REALLY pointed out all the things that make us Aquarius hard to love. I can admit we are a lot to handle. It's hard to explain why we are how we are, that is why I felt a connection to Wes from the start. My heart broke when he walked out when they were confronted (we avoid confrontations at all costs). His whole personality was like looking into the mirror. And I'm not sure I liked what or how it made me feel. And that's why I loved Stacey and her ability to really see him despite all the walls he had around him.

I know this review is a bit confusing with me giving it 5* but like said I'm having a really hard time expressing my thoughts about how much I loved this story. It was a great storyline about two people finally coming together. I just wish it wasn't so spot on about our zodiac sign 😜

When Stacey’s brother Chad and his best friend Wes left to attend college part she was conflicted as she had always thought of Wes as more than a friend, but she was also glad to have a little respite from their need to not only provoke her but to ensure that any guy that might be interested in her treated her right. When she finds herself not only attending the same college but sharing lodging with them as well she is beginning to realize that Wes is a temptation she may not be able to resist.

Wes and Chad have been best friends since they were teenagers, and he has been the one person that Wes could always count on. He has always had feelings for Stacey and is determined to protect her but protecting her from him may be the biggest challenge of all.

The interactions between them are humorous, their chemistry is intense, and Stacey is determined to show Wes that the best man for her is him.
