Love, Philly #3

Bad Decisions

Rate this book
Are bad decisions anything other than exactly what they proclaim to be?

For Lacey Johnson, a bad decision is not even in the realm of possibility in her world. There's no room for it. Not with her living her dream as a full-time nurse and not with her mind already controlling so much of her on a daily basis.

For Samuel Rivera, the bad decisions have come to a halt. Returning home from college to take over the family business for his dad, there is no room for anything but clearheaded choices.

Lacey and Samuel, two people who would have never met under different circumstances, meet a second time and once out of their city and into the one claiming itself to be made of sin, one dares the other to make a bad decision and surprising both of them, the other goes through with it.

The thing about decisions, though, no matter how small or big, no matter how good or bad, they change your life forever.

Been waiting on this book, on Samuel’s book, since I met his father and the boy did not disappoint. Of course I fell even more in love with him!⁣

He was pretty special. Very different from what I imagined him to be like but that’s what made me love him sm! He was so sweet and incredible with Lacey. They just made me melt with their cuteness.⁣

At first I’ll be honest. I found the way they interacted, or didn’t, a little odd but once they actually started going on dates, I couldn’t get enough of their cuteness and of the beautiful connection they shared. They were so smitten with each other, it was the most adorable thing!⁣

Lacey was such an incredible character. So quirky and adorable. I loved her. She has such an amazing view on life and made everyone’s life better and brighter. These two were just so perfect for each other! How Samuel always defended her and knew what she needed, sigh. What a perfect hubby.⁣

In Bad Decisions, we get to see so much of the other two couples in the series. I loved that so much.⁣

There was a little plottwist at the end, I did not see coming but I’m actually so excited. It means we might get one more book where we see a lot of Hector and Samuel! Wooh!⁣

Bad Decisions is book #3 in the Love, Philly series; this book is Lacey and Samuel's story. Although you don't have to read book #2 The Tipoff, I highly recommend it that you do. Hence, Lacey was introduced in the previous book. Lacey is such a sweet lovable character! A character that you'll automatically love from the very first page. She's quirky, sweet and caring. She has a big heart; a passion for medicine and taking care of people. Hence, she's working as a nurse. Lacey has ADHD, even though sometimes she struggles to deal with her disability/disorder on a daily basis, she's a great nurse. I loved how Sonia Esperanza portrayed her character. I mean, from the books I read so far, Sonia Esperanza did a phenomenal job. Her characters are true to life, she addresses real life issues and does it so well. Her writing technique is flawless and amazing. I haven't read Hijacked book #1 as yet (I'm hoping to read it by the end of this year, my endless TBR is out of control, go figure) but, our hero, Samuel made an appearance in book #1. Hence, he's Hector Rivera's (the main character from this book) son.

Lacey and Samuel are just so adorable together! They definitely have a great chemistry. Personally, seeing their relationship dynamics it's a cuteness overload, I felt all warm and fuzzy while I was reading. Bad Decisions is a feel good novel, I couldn't wipe off the smile my face throughout the book!! I loved every second that I was reading. Samuel is such a gentleman; he's definitely a cinnamon roll. My heart melted seeing his interactions with Lacey. He was so thoughtful and caring of Lacey. He had my heart from the first few chapters. Ahh, I need a Samuel in my life. And I really enjoyed seeing his relationship dynamics with Annie (his father's wife).

I was so happy to see Lily and Knight making an appearance. I absolutely loved how the storyline flowed!! I don't want to give any spoilers away. Lacey is a good girl, she avoids bad decisions when she sees one. But for one night in Las Vegas, Lacey decided to throw the caution out the window and make a bad decision. Ever since her paths crossed Samuel Rivera, Lacey became fascinated with him; she had a crush on him. The feeling is mutual, yet Lacey is scared. She avoids having a relationship, hence her past dating history wasn't really successful. But, Samuel is determined, he's going to find his way and break down Lacey's defenses. Overall, a great read! Can't wait to read more of Sonia Esperanza's work!

Bad Decisions is one of the most softest romances I've ever read while also brings the fiery tension that I adore. It's sweet, it's beautiful and it has enough feels to have your heart clenching; and I loved every single second if it!

Samuel and Lacey immediately had my heart and I adore them so much. The immediate connection and incredible chemistry is wonderful, the looks and all those little touches, oh boy. And I swear Sonia writes some of the best first kisses ever! They are seriously the most imperfectly perfect couple who you simply cannot not fall for, and if you don't, how?

Lacey is so sweet and cares for the world so much, it's truly inspiring. Samuel, that man is so swoony, I can't even deal! The way he respects Lacey in every single way is amazing and every moment with him made me fall for him harder. They are both such soft souls and their love stunning! So sweet and cute but also simply fire.

Also wow what a way to throw a curveball at a girl, I was sitting on a bus and almost crying because of something that completely broke my heart. The way Sonia manages to have her stories punch you straight to the gut and also warm your heart unlike anything else; giving you hope, love and happiness is truly astonishing.

I loved everything about this book, from the beginning until the very end! And I'm super excited for the rest of the world soon to experience this beauty!

"Then I met him and it felt as if our souls kissed before our lips ever did."

*I received this ARC from the author but the thoughts are completely my own.*
