Reroute by Geraldin Diaz is a wonderful resource, and a well written body of work. As you prepare for college, there is this assumption that once you graduate, there will be a plethora of jobs to choose from. The unfortunate truth for many college graduates face is that it can take months to find a job they’re both interested in and with a decent paying salary.

The first chapter entitled “Give yourself a break” allowed me to take a step back and reflect within the first few pages of the book. We’re so used to constantly being on the go we very rarely give ourself time to sit back and think. It was a breath of fresh air to know I wasn’t alone in feeling overwhelmed after graduation and not knowing what my next steps were going to be.

Reroute is an amazing guide post graduation and perfect for any point in life. Taking time to reflect and focus is essential in continue to conquer professional and personal goals.

This book is a great start if you want to form a firm foundation for a flourishing future. (Ok, I know the alliteration was unnecessary.) While the target demographic is graduates, it is fitting young adults in general, no matter if they are current students, graduates, or not going to school. But I think this book provides good insight into paving your path towards your success. As a person who has read a myriad of self-improvement books, most of the insight here was not new to me. That did not detract from the book's value, though. The point is she is able to condense these insights into a clear framework, make the information digestible, and create actionable goals with activities. I liked the anecdotes dispersed throughout the book. These glimpses into her life are very relatable. Reading about the challenges she faced inspires us to keep going because the best is yet to come.

I am happy to write a review of Reroute. As a recent college graduate, I faced a lot of uncertainty and challenges about embarking on a journey into real life career development and adulthood. It is hard to navigate these unknowns without the proper knowledge or wisdom about what’s to come. Reroute is a great resource and guide for those of us who need encouragement, motivation and direction about post grad success. I found the book easy to read, understandable and very relatable. I am glad to have this book readily available to me when I need and I will happily recommend it to anyone who is navigating the unknowns of being a recent graduate. Thank you!

I really enjoyed this read from Geraldin because I felt like I connected with the environment she comes from. Being a first generation Dominican, growing up in NYC is a tremendous challenge. I command her for telling her story and writing this book that can serve as a guide for many of us whether we are planning of attending college, attending or recently graduated.

Thank you so much!

Although it has been awhile since I graduated from my Masters and even longer from my undergrad. I thought I would give it a read since I figured that the information would still be valuable as I work on my career. The advice is timeliness and inspiring, worth a read if you are also going through a career change or struggling at the beginning of your career.
