I love me some secret baby drama and on that this light novel delivered. I loved that Ellie embraced the ‘I don’t need no man’ path and divorced her unloving husband to raise her secret baby by herself. And I absolutely salivated over the drama of Raymond discovering this secret child. Zero points for court drama though. It just felt forced. The villain Lisa didn’t act to rhyme or reason. She kind of just did stuff for plot to happen. Call me picky, but I like my villains to have motivation and cunning. Also Jeremy, you are the most disappointing second male lead of all time. The point of the 2nd ML role is to give a ‘will they or won’t they’ vibe. To divide the fandom into Team Ray or Team Jer. Jeremy did nothing but pine silently. Bad ML, bad!
Some notes for the author. Why on earth did you have character names Jer and Jed? You were already skidding it close with Ellie and Lisa. Character names need to be more distinct from each other cause we readers get mixed up sometimes.

This is a fantasy kingdom, where Raymond is Emperor and Ellie his Empress. Despite Ellie being madly in love with Ray her whole life Ray sees her more as a friend. They marry for political reasons, but he trusts her completely. Even enough to discuss with her the true love of his life Lisa Sois. Lisa had to marry another dude from another kingdom though, so Ellie has hope that she can still win Ray’s heart. They’re already married after all. But that plan dies a quick death when Lisa returns some years later with a son who looks exactly like Raymond. Ray doesn’t hesitate to declare this illegitimate son his new heir to the throne.
Ellie is pregnant at this point, but decides its smarter to keep her mouth shut. Lisa has the heart of the emperor and if Ellie announces her pregnancy she is afraid of the fate that can befall her and her unborn child. Ray will unquestionably take Lisa’s side. So Ellie packs her things serves His Majesty divorce papers and books it out of the kingdom. Very disappointingly she doesn’t take any lovers despite Jeremy clearly having the hots for her. I swear, in 6 years Jeremy did fuck all to seduce Ellie. Worst second male lead ever. But I do like how Ellie takes charge of her own life and starts prioritizing herself over Ray.
But alas Lisa is dissatisfied with Ellie’s peaceful retreat. Her son is crown prince and she has successfully installed several family members in high court positions, but she wanted the blood of her enemies. So instead of seducing the Emperor or manipulating him politically to marry her she decides that to become Empress she must completely eradicate Ellie’s family. Ellie takes exception to this. So after 6 years of lying low, growing flowers, and raising her son in secret she returns to court to save her father’s life.
After some delightful song and dance Ray eventually notices Ellie has a child. Also that kid looks exactly like him. He is super upset and asks how Ellie could she not only divorce him while pregnant but never tell him about their son. She counters that he already declared Lisa’s kid heir. Her son would’ve had no standing in court and probably been killed by now. Much like Ray’s own brother. She’d rather raise her son as a normal boy than put him in a fight for the throne. Ray admits that she’s right. He totally would’ve believed anything Lisa told him which would’ve made Ellie’s son an easy target. But he doesn’t love Lisa anymore, he loves Ellie, and won’t she be his Empress again? Pfft! Ellie responds with, ‘You don’t know me!’ and declares her intentions to disappear with HER son once her father is cleared of all charges. Ray feels bad that Ellie didn’t feel safe enough to tell him the truth earlier and reflects on his bad husband behavior. You get +10points for that, Ray.
Lisa gets even more twitchy and crazy when she learns Ellie has a kid. Ellie is upfront and says, ‘You can have Ray and the damned kingdom! I only came back to protect my family from your shenanigans! If it were up to me Ray would still be clueless about the child’s existence. I plan to disappear as soon as my family is safe. If ANYTHING happens to my son I will marry Ray on the spot and my son will be crown prince instead. Ray has already offered. The man will do anything I say at this point. Don’t tempt me.’ So Lisa responds by doing the exact opposite and sends out an assassin. Ellie makes good on her promise and now Lisa is super unstable. She tries to kill Ellie’s child again, but this time she orders her son to do it via poison. She even orders her maid to watch to make sure he does it right. She could’ve had her maid do it alone, but nooooo. That would be too easy. She needs to unnecessarily implicate her teenaged son in this assassination attempt. At this point I legit do not understand Lisa’s goals. She’s just a plot convenience right now. Also for random reasons Ray has to administer medicine to the now poisoned prince via mouth to mouth thus getting poisoned too. Just- just so unnecessary. So Ray proves he will risk his own life to protect Ellie’s son. Ellie decides to trust him and they live HEA. I mean, I really did enjoy the secret baby drama, but the rest of the plot was just one big eyeroll.

If you can handle annoying male lead who is a little loose on head then read it. Yes . READ IT.
If you want a trash male lead and want stupid misunderstandings THAT CAN BE SOLVED WITH A HEALTY CONVERSTION THATS ONLY LASTS 5 MINITES yeah, this is totally for you.
If you want a stupid female lead who goes into a relationship knowing WTF is up and than get mad because her love didnt immediately change a man's cold heart yeah, drown in your own misery reading this.
It will make your blood boil and you can curse all on to that trash male lead SO YEAH, READ IT.
You know what's worse? I cant believe I'm saying this but compared to some of the manwha the male lead is not 'that' bad. Well he is still a jerk but more like "oh i have seen worse". I do understand his point of view, it’s not necessary to love someone back just because they love you and he DID keep his promise to stay loyal to the female lead but the way he treated the female lead like she is some accessory is worse. Sometimes lack of words and actions hurt people around you more than the words you say and things you do. This was the case here. It's not what he did, its what he didnt do and the way he took the female lead for granted.
I cant believe these two idiots are gonna bring a child in this miserable toxic relaitionship that they had. Like at least be responsible and dont do that!
Overall; My heart breaks every damn chapter. The heroine either makes me too sad or frusturating. and the male lead keeps annoying me. I still can`t believe that bitch Raymond is the male lead, I REFUSE. We've been here before, he is on that “I love you even though I treated you terribly'' train. I just know it. Ugh, this motherfucker is just a man with a twisted and selfish mind and I'm going to strangle him myself when they end up together.
I honestly have no idea why I gave it 3 stars. I guess I like the way the female lead suddenly decided to be strong and leave this toxic relationship even though the way she is leaving is problematic as hell.
So far the only character I have no problem is female lead's father. THE BEST FATHER OF THE YEAR GOES TO THIS GUY😭✋ Thank you dear old dad, for saving this story.

I can't say that this is a happy tale, but there is a logic to the behaviors and misfortunes. So often miscommunication and motivations are nonsensical so it is nice to see some realistic characterizations. Admittedly, some readers will be disappointed with the semi-forced reunion but it is a predictable outcome from the start.

Dudé entre 3 o 4 estrellas pero la verdad que sí disfrute el chisme jaja. Me gusto la protagonista porque creció bastante en la trama y aunque sí, cayó en el cliché, no va a ser lo mismo que el principio. El male lead queríamos matarlo a veces pero bueno me consuela lo que le pasa después jaja y viendo el final para mi aprendió. Me gustaría ver un spin off de Jeremy, la verdad que se lo merece.

What a ride! It was fun, not great but good romance-political drama.
A bit of Summary:
The story is of Lizzie and Raymond. Raymond is the second Prince & the first love of Lizzie, Duke Croft's daughter. She is his childhood friend who supports him in everything she can. So, in her teenage when she finds out he loves someone else, she supports him. Later, when his lover is sent to another kingdom as a concubine for another king, Lizzie supports Raymond. Raymond's elder step-brother, the crown prince is a classic lame-ass case, who hates Raymond as he is illegitimated child born to a low class woman. It comes as no surprise that Raymond decides to rebel against his older brother, in his trial he is supported by Duke Croft. Simply speaking Raymond asks Lizzie to marry him and be his empress. Naïve Lizzie thinks she can win his love if she stays by his side, but she fails.
One day, his old flame returns with a child that looks like him. Raymond feels guilty and accepts him, unknown to him that Lizzie is pregnant with his child. Lizzie asks for divorce which he grudgingly accepts as he feels guilty. Lizzie leaves the empire never wanting to return, she changes her name and appearance. In her last days at the empire she meets Jeremy, second, beautiful ML. Raymond searches the world for her but isn't able to find her.
But 6 years later, Lizzie who is well established woman in another country, has to return to the empire to save her father Duke Croft from false charges set on him by the family of Raymond's Ex-Girlfriend's family. So, Lizzie returns with her 6 year old son.
The Emperor Raymond already has an elder son by his ex-girlfriend, who is being trained to become the crown prince someday. The ex-girlfriend isn't what she seems to be on the surface. Will Raymond be able to make up for his mistakes? Will Jeremy find love with Lizzie? Will Lizzie be able to forgive Raymond?

Woot!! It was a nice mild hidden baby-finding your lost love- realizing mistakes once your girl's gone - case! It was a cute story. Not for those who are seeking much thriller experience or any hard core love story. Its a simple story, no huge twists & one of the BIGGEST disappointments of a Second ML!! Seriously Jeremy, you did nothing dude!!! It was like he accepted defeat from the beginning, it was like he wasn't even a second ML but just a brotherly figure to the FL!!
Well, I liked the cuteness of it so here's 4 stars. see you at next review.

I can't believe I started reading this a year ago. I generally go for completed manga/manhwa. I liked Lady Croft so I came back is all I can say. I wanted her to have love and romance with her beloved. Even though I have read the web-novel already, I just wanted to see the manhwa. It's truly too damn slow in development.
So general overview of the story is - Elijah Croft is the duke's daughter who is in love with the second prince Raymond who is illegitimate child of the emperor. Raymond loves someone else, Lize. Lize leaves the empire to marry neighboring kingdom's king to maintain peace. A few years later Raymond has overthrown his elder brother and taken over the Empire. He married Ellie (Elijah) knowing that she was deeply in love with him, he promised her that even if he might not be able to love again (Due to the trauma since his childhood and then Lize leaving), he will never betray her love and that there will never be another woman in his life. Few years later when they still haven't had a child, Lize returns with 'his child'.
So, a very pregnant Ellie demands divorce and leaves the Empire to have her child away from the politics & raise him well. Raymond is devastated when Ellie leaves. He keeps looking for her and never takes another empress, even though Lize is there.

PS: Yes, I agree with a lot of commentators that Ellie accepted Raymond back in her life even after everything. But bro that's love, trauma, held back feelings & love that you forgot to give/show (On Raymond's part). The story is about healing each other and being together with the one your heart wants. Plus, Raymond did redeem himself & his character's growth arch as well as Ellie's were both great.

But bro that's love, trauma, held back feelings & love that you forgot to give/show (On Raymond's part). The story is about healing each other and being together with the one your heart wants. Plus, Raymond did redeem himself & his character's growth arch as well as Ellie's were both great.
