From REMINGTON KANE, the author of the TANNER SERIES HUNTED - A MR. WHITE NOVEL - Book 2Mr. White is hunted by an enemy who has a connection to Samantha and a reason to want them both dead.
Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.
Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.
He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.
Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.
The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.
He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.
Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.
By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.
This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.
When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.
Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.
Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.
Exciting? Yes. Suspenseful? Yes. Worthy of reading? Yes.
I have always enjoyed the works of author "Remington Kane" and this title is no exception. As always "Mr. Kane" delivers suspense, and excitement between the pages you cannot stop turning once you begin.
The author's blurb state, and I quote, "Mr. White is hunted by an enemy who has a connection to Samantha and a reason to want them both dead." and the story begins, and the plot "thickens" and "develops" until, alas, those last two fatal words are read..."The End".
I highly recommend this book, and especially so to those who enjoy, as I do, "Pulp Fiction", and yes this book can be read as a "standalone" as the author has provided enough background detail to fill in any gaps.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review, and hopefully there are no "spoilers", as I "hate" spoilers.
Now comes the disclaimer, which as this book has not yet been released at the time of this writing I am and ARC/Beta Reader for this author, and I received a copy of the book in exchange for not only writing an "honest review", but also in order to notify the author of any "errors" or "omissions" I found so that they could be corrected (there were none as Mr. Kane's books are always superbly edited). I received no other compensation for this review, and have no personal, or financial interest in its success. This has been an honest review based solely upon my "own" personal enjoyment of the author's work.
Mr. White & Samantha are about to relive kidnappin that took her 2yr old friends ' life.
The monster that kidnapped Samantha & her friend Maria, was cripped by Mr. Whitebut aloud to live in a wheelchair with a breathing tube. When a man who helped him went free. That was the best mistake Mr. White could ever make. Now Jack has been roken out of prison & has had a miracle surgery that has all but cured him. Sweat does Jake want to do? Finish what he stared years ago for revenge, but like last time things don't go as he planned. What will happen to him this time?
When I see Remington Kane's name come up with another new book about Mr. White, I know I'm going to really enjoy this one. Mr. White is one of my favorite stories I've ever read. It has it all. It's full of non stop action, edge of your seat excitement, a real nail biter as well, plus it has all of my favorite people in the story. Mr. Kane's books are so memorable that you don't ever forget the characters no matter how long it is between books. I for one hope Mr. White is back to stay.
I haven’t read much about Mr. White lately. Glad he is still doing well. Typical story with good characters, bad bad guys and an interesting story line. I liked it. I’ve been staying away from Mr. White for the simple reason that there were so many different characters; family, friends, and villains. This was simpler with basically White and Samantha going against a bunch of significantly different people. That seemed to make the story flow smoother. Looking forward to seeing White again soon.
Samantha, Mr. White and Jessica’s “precocious“ daughter, really deserves title billing in this story as her special skills are put on display when she is kidnapped by two of Mr. White’s foes from previous entries in this action-packed series. Reading this story reminded me so much of O. Henry’s “Ransom of Red Chief” as the kidnappers got themselves in lots of trouble when they chose their victim.
Mr. White is Deadly Another excellent Mr. White story. When his daughter Samantha is kidnapped Mr. White must go on a rescue mission while pretending he's going to pay the ransom. Samantha is deadly in her own rights and doesn't make it easy for the kidnappers. Lots of action and we get to see Jessica and Violet in action also.
Man, I forget how awesome the White family is until they're back in action! Mr. White, Jessica, Samantha & Violet are just one helluva beastly crew & yet people still keep wanna come for them—just to lose again.
I am so happy the Whites are back! I've been waiting a long time to see them again. I truly, truly hope we will get another book soon. Mr. Remington, you rock!!! Keep them coming.
What a fantastic book could not put it down til the end It moves at a fast pa e and will keep you entertained for hours. I love Remington Kane books and they are always exciting Jo Ann Brown Thanks for another terrific story
Almost read this one in one sitting. It's hard to put down and the action is so fast, you can expect your head to spin. Plenty of violence, but good vs. evil is always a worthy event. I rate it 5 stars.
Good plot. Great action. Finally, some closure. One thing for Mr. Kane...I find it odd that you reuse names in and between your books and series. It can get confusing. Mitchell, Jack, Parker, Knight, etc. to name some.
Another wonderful adventure. These characters, relationships and overall storylines are always a pleasure. Only problem is that they do not come fast enough.
To get back at White they kidnap his daughter and got more than they bargained for just a 15 yr old girl no prob soo they thought with Samantha and Mr White they def went about revenge the wrong way !!Although any way would have been the same result !!Great read
