\"What if nothing happens on the 13th? Aren\'t you afraid people will laugh at you?\" asked the parish priest as he looked closely at 10-year-old Lucia. \"Oh no, Father!\" replied Lucia. \"I know something wonderful is going to happen on the 13th. The Lady told us so.\" This book tells what happened and gives the wonderful story of Our Lady\'s appearances to little Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia. Impr. 162 pgs 15 Illus, PB
This was listed as a read aloud for the kindergarten religion subject on TAN’s curriculum—although it’s a good retelling of the story of Fatima, I think some of the story and aspects of the Fatima message are above the heads of Kindergarteners (at least my daughter), so what I’m saying here is that I think this book would be a more appropriate read aloud for slightly older children. But it is still great in developing a love for Our Lady of Fatima and increasing devotion to her Immaculate Heart.
I read this with Anna (9) and we enjoyed it immensely! I am so grateful to Mary Fabyan Windeatt for writing these books for Catholic children. They are just as interesting for adults as they are for children, which is the mark of a truly good book.
I like this book because it shows how much children can impact the world. And I think that people can learn about God through this book. And I think that every one can read this book. ✝️📿😃😄😁😉😌🥰😘🙂
Brings truth and awe to the true story of three Portuguese shepherd children, who after being visited by an angel and the Blessed Virgin Mary, suffered from disbelieving family and friends, two nights in jail (for 7-10 year olds) and then told of Jesus' suffering from people's sins and the horrors of hell.
This is a must read for anyone interested in learning more about Our Lady of Fatima. Great for families to read together. I love that the author included the prayers given to the children and the history she provides in providing dates and locations through storytelling.
Just finished this as a read aloud to my 10 and 6 year old girls. Very well done biography of the 3 children of Fatima and the Marian apparitions there.
