Naive Sienna is forced to live and die a life filled with neglect, violence, and manipulation. She takes her own life in prison while confronting Lori, an adoptive sister and the one person she thought loved her. Contrary to expectations, Sienna awakens into the past. The orphan struggles to change her destiny by avoiding becoming a ward of the Nacht family, keeping her emotions to herself, planning an escaping, and strengthening her magical powers. Only the forces of evil that were working to destroy the kingdom won't leave her alone. Sienna must face her trauma and decide if humanity is worth saving.

This has some of the tropes I don't particularly like... an OP protagonist from the start, a timeline convoluted by multiple flash backs, an extended stay with the main characters as children, obliviousness to love entanglements, a large gap between volumes where the main story does not progress, etc. And yet, most of those work in this tale or at least do not become a distracting focus. The trauma tag is real. This one starts dark and stays dark for a long time. There is some required sacrifice which is not magically undone. Hesaros is not what I would call a good influence but he is one of my favorite characters. The grandpa Emperor is also super cute as he is allowed to be overly fluffy as he is not on a redemption arc. The world building is interesting even if the magical rules are a little wonky, especially in volume two when some of the forced closeness is due to disease. There are magical artifacts, powers, and demonic threats. Yet these are often tied to things like greed, familial bonds, over-indulgence, and relatable flaws/desires. This revenge rebirther genre is overcrowded, but this entry is one of the better versions I've read. (3.5 stars)

first of all, the reason why I decided to read this novel was because of the manhwa. I couldn't wait any longer. the plot is quite interesting. too bad that the characters were written so bad that I had a thought of dropping this (luckily I didn't). I love strong female lead and we could say that the female lead—sienna was a such badass but the other characters were undeniably so dumb.

the novel would be more interesting if the author/s didn't use too much sounds. there are also instances where I am completely lost and confused and that is bcs of poor description. it's like reading a wattpad novel written by a 12 year old LMAO

next is the romance. if they written the romance really this bad, I don't think the it was necessary here anymore.

however, all in, I enjoyed reading this. so here I am, rating this 2/5 for interesting plot and a badass female lead.

Sienna es una protagonista sumamente fuerte y muy inteligente, nunca espero nada de nadie, y esas personas le demostraron que aún podía esperar aunque sea un poco.

Aunque no fue culpa de los Nacht lo ocurrido en su primera vida (ser ignorada), debo admitir que el Duque sl merecía pedir un perdón a Sienna, puesto que admitió no prestarle atención e ignorar el hecho de lo que ella pasaba dentro del ducado.

Ashiel un gran ML, aunque sentía que a veces presionaba a Sienna, la verdad espero por ella y eso lo agradezco.

The plot is engaging, and I especially appreciated how the female lead’s depression was portrayed with realism and depth. I also liked that the connection between her and the Nacht family wasn’t rushed, as the gradual build-up made it feel more natural. However, while the artwork is undeniably beautiful, at times it feels overwhelming and even distracts from the story itself. As for Season 2, I’m still undecided; whether I continue will depend on how the storyline develops and whether the art better complements the narrative.

It was pretty good, it got tough to finish in the end. The only thing I’m so upset about is I couldn’t see Michael and isabelle together in the side stories or the ending 😭😭 it’s implied he had feelings but I wanted to know more, the main couple got boring after a while and I liked the side characters more

Volume 1 was fantastic but you could tell what direction it was going. After that it's downhill. The romance was unnecessary and the relationships get weird. DNF somewhere in vol 2

Primero de nada debo destacar que como en el caso de otros lectores, empecé a leer la novela después de empezar con el manhwa. Me llamó la atención y pensé que la trama podría ser interesante (también voy a admitir que las ilustraciones son realemente hermosas).

Las primeras impresiones fueron buenas. Es una historia que me dejo con un sabor agridulce en varios aspectos.Habían momentos en los que sentía que la historia podría parecer algo forzada (como la relación amorosa entre la protagonista y el ML). Otros en los que sentí que los antagonistas no eran muy desarrollados (El desarrollo de la hermana como villana no fue muy detallado y simplemente acabó siendo una villana algo impotente y trágica).

Aun así, disfruté mucho de esta novela. Reí y lloré hasta ccansarme.

Eso sí me dolio mucho el final de Gran Duque. Tuve muchos sentimientos encontrados. Pero eso también le dió cierto encanto a la historia.

My review is for the manhwa of this story and not the light novel. (From chapter 1 - 100).

Unfortunately my review for this manhwa is pretty biased due to the translation into English not being very good. There’s lots of dialogue that doesn’t make much sense- but is generally understandable enough due to the illustrations. I hope this story gets an official translation since I think it would be a much more enjoyable read!

Loreina has always been the favorite- the center of attention- the Star child. Siena cant help but be cast in her shadow, but she doesn’t mind being unloved as long as her sister loves her- but that all changes once Loreina reveals her true colors- and the one thing Siena won’t give Loreina is the satisfaction of taking her life. It should have been the end of her suffering but Siena wakes back up in her childhood body.

This story is one of family trauma and healing- revenge isn’t really the goal but it is satisfying when it happens. There’s magic and weird classism hierarchies with the different noble families. - I wish I understood it all a bit better, but this story can still be read casually, it’s just hard to be super invested when not everything is understandable. And honestly (at this point- chapter 100) tge plot feels pretty drawn out.
