I always wanted to live out my darkest desires. Until they came true.
Doms. Dungeons. Kneeling at the feet of my Master. I’ve had naughty fantasies for as long as I can remember, but I never had the nerve to follow through on them. Besides, where would I find a sex club or a guy into D/s who wouldn’t turn out to be a serial killer? I’m a short, curvy kindergarten teacher in a small town where everybody knows your business.
So when I heard about the Centauri Brides program, I poured a glass of Chardonnay for courage and filled out an application. It says they’re looking for women willing to travel to a new world and mate with the aliens who live there.
There’s a footnote: Centauri warriors are strong, passionate aliens. Their culture requires females to obey their dominant mates or face the consequences, including the possibility of physical punishment. Do not apply if you are unwilling to accept these terms. Do not apply? Hah! Reading that made me want to sign up even more.
I’ve been paired with a sexy seven-foot alien who changes color when he gets turned on. He’s everything I ever dreamed of – strong, smart, caring. And soo hot!
I can leave the program – but only after I’ve stayed with him for 30 days. So I have a whole month to live out every wild and wicked fantasy I’ve ever had, no strings attached, then go back to my comfortable, safe life on Earth.
Submitting to this dominant male is so much more thrilling than I ever imagined it would be. But I have a huge problem. He’s demanding more than my obedience. He wants my heart.
And with every day that goes by, I’m getting closer to giving it to him.
Centauri Brides is a brand new series, a spinoff from the popular Centauri Captives. Each book is a standalone featuring masterful alien warrior males and the strong, smart Earth women who love them. And who have the skills it takes to build a brand new world. As always, USA Today Bestselling Authors Kallista Dane and Kate Richards promise an HEA in every story.
The entire file is corrupted., I realise that this is not the fault of the authors and in spite of their hard work , Amazon has not taken this file and removed it to replace with a readable one. Amazon gets 1 star for not handling the previously offered feedback and now I am writing this instead of reading one of my favourite author duets. Amazon is not doing its job.
This is a wonderfully enjoyable read, a new chapter to this story This is the beginning of a new series and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it, the characters were wonderful and I also loved the plot and must say that I believe that new readers will be as enchanted as me with the book. Since the fall of Ravensworth, it has been Athene who has been in charge of things, the responsibility of creating a new Terran Bride Program where she intends to ensure that the females and males successfully are matched with mates so that they can start new lives. Tajan knows who his mate is to be however as he has geared himself up for this woman in his life, he is suddenly told that there is ging to be a change, this woman is nothing like his original prospective mate but there are 39 days for them to have their trail and see if the are comparable or not? Mel knew that she wanted a mate that would not only love her but would also want children as well, however Tajan was not what she had expected and she had used a great deal of strength and will not simply turn away, she knew that she had to give them a chance and that was what the 30-day trial period was for.
This is a wonderful read and I do not want to give away the plot or any secrets so I am anxiously waiting for the next book in this series. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
YAH!!! A new series spin-off. Athene is now the new Chancellor in charge. She took over after the fall of Ravensworth. She and the Arythian’s have an idea. Create a bride program for them for the Terran to meet them and find mates. I actually thought she would be first but not yet. Melanie is part of the first group of women to be matched. She was a last minute add on due to another finding love on Terra. She has her own fantasies and is looking forward to meeting her new mate. She also can’t wait to teach again. Tajan knew who his mate was to be but when he is told there was a change, it was totally unexpected. She is nothing like the other woman. But there is a 30 day trial. If they are not compatible, they can always try again. I felt for Mel. She wanted a lover and mate that would well love her and give her children. When Tajan first saw her, he did the total opposite. I was so disappointed in him. It took a great deal of strength for Mel to push forward on a new world and break through. I thought it was about her but there was more to the reason why Tajan was acting the way he was. I can’t wait to read the next book. I know we aren’t going to be reading about Athene yet. I look forward reading about her when that happens. She is definitely going to need an alien that is a Master.
Willing, Matched Centauri Brides Unlike the first series where the brides were captured, these brides volunteered for the brides program. Melanie, a curvy blonde kindergarten teacher with curly hair is the substitute for another potential bride that backed out at the last minute. This worked out for Melanie, but Tajan, the Arythian Warrior she was matched to, had been expecting a taller, dark haired outdoorsy type bride. Tajan's disappointment with Melanie shows, but they do have a 30 day trial period where they can decide they don't accept the match. Melanie likes her handsome, hot warrior, but is unsure once she realizes she might be dumped in 30 days. I must say, they do try and get along and each learns from the other as they spend their time learning about their new planet and each other. I enjoyed the story and am looking forward to more couples and hear more about this first match in the brides program. And yes, there is a HEA and the path to it was a lot of fun and some new experiences for Melanie which included her first spanking, which she was looking forward to and enjoyed immensely.
Oh, the heat is HOT, and the physical chemistry is captivating so be careful you may just get burned all the heat coming off these pages. There were some "oh no" "oh wow" " what the what" moments and add in uncanny mishaps, and shenanigans the good kind that makes you keep turning the pages till last page has been turned. Athene is part of a bride program for them to meet and find Terran mates. Melanie was a last min add in, but the mate choose Tajan didn’t really like change and upon meeting her she was nothing like the women original chosen for him. First impressions in most cases are everything and well his wasn’t /didn’t go so well. All his fault finding he does and is very unlikable personality hurts Mel more than she let on she wanted love, children and the ability to teach little ones again and he pretty much willing to just go through the 39 day trial but what will happen at the end of the trial, will he accept Mel, will she forgive him and is there happiness in story for these two?
DNF - 60% Usually I wouldn’t write a review on a DNF, or even write a review in general, but this one was special I guess.
Nothing like gearing up for a curvy heroine with an author that only writes self proclaimed ‘Strong, smart earth women’ to get the exact opposite. She was desperate enough to ignore the male leads obvious disinterest, and insecure enough to end up with him. The male lead was excited to have a ‘willowy, tall’ bride, but got a short curvy one instead and instantly wrote her off. She knows this, but still seeks his approval on, get this - the size of her ass! Eventually he accepts her, because there’s no better HEA than him settling for quite literally his only option, despite the fact that he’s not attracted to her for over half the book. I skimmed through the rest, and saw the part where he tried to justify not being attracted to her because his emotions and whatever else is clearly wrong with him; he’s not the male lead anyone wants, and I feel bad that the heroine ends up with him.
Well written alien romance that draws the reader in from the first page and keeps you invested in the lives of Tajan, a Arythian Warrior and his unexpected match Melanie, a curvy blonde kindergarten teacher. The story line and characters are well developed with depth and growth. Now that Ravensworth is no longer in charge, the bridal program was established and earth women volunteer to be mated and do a 30 day trial before committing. When Tajan''s intended mate pulls out at the last minute, Melanie takes her space but Tajan is less than impressed with the new mate Melanie. Forced to spend time together during the 30 day trial, Melanie falls in love but Tajan is very resistant. At least Melanie gets to live out some of her BDSM fantasies with Tajan. A fun entertaining read.

"Tajan, you may not want to marry me…but I sure wish you’d save me."
Tajan thought he knew all about the human bride who was coming to be his mate... Then Melanie arrived in her place.
Melanie was a last minute addition to the group of Brides, not just a human willing to marry an Alien, Melanie has skills this new community needs, and in her heart, she believes they have something to offer her too.
This stand alone, done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read is a charming story about a small town girl wanting to discover life in a place where everyone doesn't know everything about everyone. Tajan, for his part, may have a big city mindset, by comparison, but he's ready to embrace the outdoors, and a community made up of all the survivors from his world.
So the synopsis is a bit different from what I thought the actual book was. It is close enough to be very similar but IMO the bride came planning on staying. She sells her childhood home and quits her job. That isn't someone who is planning on going back home. Other then that the synopsis is pretty similar.
That being said, I enjoyed the first story of this spin off series. Tajan did drive me crazy. He was a bit blind to what he felt until Melanie showed him she really did want more. She was braver then he was! But he also had the same backstory of losing his whole planet. I can't wait to see what is next!
I really enjoyed this book!!! Was super excited that we're getting a spin-off series since I enjoyed the Centauri Captives series. If you haven't read that series yet I totally recommend that you do you won't regret it. I'm also loving the fact that Athene is now the new Chancellor. My only issue was I felt liked the ending was bit rush leaving some things unclear but I believe that it will be probably revisited in future books. Overall a great read and a fantastic start for a new series. As always my review are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
I love the Centauri Series, and can't wait to get the next book. This is a short sweet read as Tajan and Melanie find their way in a brave new world. After a last minute switch in Brides, Tajan arrives to greet his new mate only to find the Bride he was assigned has suddenly without notice been substituted for a person he has never seen before. This seems like a cruel joke to him, Melanie is disappointed when she arrives and her potential mate is less than enthusiastic to see her. The journey between them is short sexy and sweet as they find themselves in danger and a new start in this new world.
Centauri Brides... Earth’s new Chancellor, worked with the Arythian Warriors to develop the Centauri Brides program. It is a win-win for everyone. The program matches lonely Earth women who dream of being dominated with a hunky Warrior in need of a mate. After Tajan’s matched mate dropped out at the last minute Melanie is is sent to him instead. His disappointment is hurtful to Melanie which has her second guessing her decisions. I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
I enjoyed reading this new spin-off series. I did read and very much enjoy the original series. This book is very well written and described. All the characters are well done and rounded. I liked Melanie, she is feisty and honest unlike Tagan who behaves like a child who has not been given the present promised. I enjoyed their interactions. I also feel bad for poor Athene. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and I very highly recommend it. I look forward to reading lots more books in this wonderful new series.
This is my first Centauri book by these authors but would absolutely read more. Melanie gives up her staid, safe life on Terra to join the Centauri Brides programme, yearning for a strong dominant mate. Tajan has been told his mate is on her way but a last minute substitution means short, plump Melanie is his, not the tall brunette he lusts for. He is promised that after the 30 day trial period is over and she leaves he can get a new mate, perfect for his tastes. The only problem is Melanie is getting under his skin!! I enjoyed this next installment of the Centauri warriors. Tagan did not get the bride he expected, he got Melanie. But he can wait the 30 days and then pick a new bride. Melanie is a teacher and has a desire for submission. She makes Tagan laugh and he starts to think about keeping her. Tagan and Melanie have a HEA and I'm looking forward to more stories.

Melanie is just wonderful. She is spunky and so brave. She willingly leaves behind everything she knows at a chance of love and a better and more interesting life. I love her devotion to her teaching career and the fact that the baby loved her was a testament to her character. Great story with lots of hints at what is to come.

Melanie is chosen for special program. She is looking forward to meet her man and Dom. But Tajan was expecting somebody else and acts stupid because of that in the beginning of the book.
He really takes his time getting to get used to her and she is even thinking that she has to go back after the 30 days trial period. Button a trip together something happens. Will that open the eyes of this alien warrior just in time?
For the answer on that you have to read the book. You won't regret doing that if you are into a dominant alien romance story.
A Dark Sci-Fi Romance the first book in the Centauri Brides series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Centauri Brides is a brand new series, a spinoff from the popular Centauri Captives series. I enjoyed reading Arythian warrior Tajan and human Melanie's story of a damaged warrior, suspense, drama, danger, and romance. I want to read the next book. Melanie is not at all what Tajan expected, but the more time they spend together her contagious laughter and boundless curiosity are pulling at his guarded heart strings. When Melanie’s life is put in danger, Tajan will do whatever it takes to keep her safe and knows that she is the only mate for him as they start their life together.

95 pages does not take more than 4 hours to read. As the first book in the series you’d think that the writer would either have a reminder blurb of the original series but nope. Now the two stars are not even for those two previously mentioned negatives, I had found twice where the story zipped from one scene to a new unrelated scene. Not good enough for me to bother with the remaining series.
A decent read although it all ended in a bit of a rush leaving some unexplained points - I suspect this will be revisited in future books. I liked both main characters and though submissive Melanie was nicely feisty.

When you grow up in a small town, there are some draw backs. Everyone knows your business. A chance at an adventure, a new start where no one knows you, that just may be the best idea ever. But what happens when the one you are matched with expected someone else? Can a 30 day trial change it all, or will disappointment be the end game?
I love the Centauri Series and I'm thrilled it continues. I just felt a little disappointed as all the previous stories had hot sex scenes, this one was watered-down, boring and certainly not descriptive. I did enjoy the writing of emotional thought processes. I can't wait to read the next one, hopefully its hot.
This story is the first in the Centauri Brides series, a spin off of the Centauri Captives series. It’s a shorter novel, but it packs in plenty of action, emotion and romance. I enjoyed Melanie’s bravery and Tajan’s eventual vulnerability - I just wish I had more Witt this budding couple!
Great start to a new series and certainly worth reading 😃. A little long winded at times, but I figured that it's a first book, so the authors wanted to explain some things 😉. Thanks Kallista and Kate, I'm looking forward to reading the next book to see how it goes 🤓.
The book was nothing like the blurb. For such a short book, I found it rather boring and repetitive. I didn't really care for the story line. I'm not sure why on kindle unlimited it says "A Dark Sci-Fi Romance". Because there was nothing dark or romantic about this book.
this is not supposed to be a sad book, but it still made me cry
I found this sad, and not romantic or sexy at all. I didn’t like either character. In one breath we are told she’s pretty, but when describing herself she implies she’s barely average, the “Hero” describes her as subpar looks.
I found myself hurt for the heroine, and what a mood killer that is.
A very sexy start to a new spin-off series. These alien males are strong, fierce, and dominant. Yet they aren’t cold in their dominance of their mates.. the love and burn with passion. Very hot!
