She doesn’t want anything to do with the fae… too bad that won’t stop him.

Callie Brooks has a gift, though that’s not exactly what she calls it. She sees things—has been able to since she was a little girl—and it’s more of a nuisance than anything else. But so long as she pretends that she can’t, she’s safe. The strange creatures won’t bother her if she keeps herself from staring. After more than twenty years, she’s gotten pretty good at it, too. Nothing surprises her any more.

Until she sees him.

Aislinn is a Light Fae. One of the Seelie, and a member of the Fae Queen’s guard.

After a foolish mistake inadvertently offends Melisandre, the queen punishes Ash by moving his guard post to the human world. It’s an insult, but he accepts the post in the Iron because it’s better to be bored than to be another statue in Melisandre’s garden—or worse. What’s a decade or two of human watching so long as he gets to keep his head?

Cloaked in glamour, no one is supposed to know he’s crossed over. Which is why he’s so… so interested by the curious human who seems to watch him back—and whose pretty blue eyes can see right through his glamour.

The fae trick humans. They use them. They touch them, then discard them. Ash always thought he was like the rest of his kind.

Now? He’s a fae who wants a human, and will stop at nothing to figure out what it is about Callie that makes him—and her—different than the rest… especially when he decides to seduce her and she rejects him outright.

That only makes him want him more. And hopefully he can convince Callie to agree to accept his touch before the Fae Queen realizes that his attention has wavered, otherwise it won’t be Ash who gets punished this time.

It’ll be Callie.

This is book one of the Wanted by the Fae series and the main character is Callie Brooks, a young woman with the gift, or possibly a curse, in that she can see faerie creatures and has always been able to. She was sent to various doctors about the creatures she would see in her visions, until she learnt to keep quiet about them instead, just to get left alone. She is now twenty two and a budding photographer and so long as she doesn’t stare at these creatures, they leave her alone. She lives with roommate Mitch, who works in an office for a dotcom company. Mitch’s older brother is married to Callie’s sister Ariadne. She has even managed to sell some of her landscape photos, where sometimes something otherworldly can be seen by her, and add a little something to the image. She has also seen people, who she knows are ‘other’, not of this realm. When she goes to her favourite spot to take photos one day, she sees a really handsome man standing by a tree, then he disappears. She knows he must have been standing in Faerie, rather than being in her world, as the tree marked a weak point in the veil between the two worlds!
The Fae man that Callie saw is Ash (Aislinn), a Light Fae, who worked as one of Fae Queen Melisandre’s guard, until he caught her ire and got posted to the human world as a punishment. It was that or end up as a statue in her garden! Callie caught his attention as she could clearly see through his glamour. She also can’t be charmed by their persuasion. Ash was sent to guard a thin point between the two worlds, to ensure no Fae escaped and no human wandered through uninvited and alone. It has been centuries since Ash played with a pet human, getting them to allow his touch, stealing a bit of their soul. Seeing Callie through the veil, begins his fascination with the white haired and striking looking human, until he engineers a meeting. Luckily Callie knows a fair bit about Fae and Faerie, having read up as much as possible, so doesn’t give him her full name, thank him or a multitude of other things. But unwittingly, she has granted him a geas, a life debt, when he saves her life from a fae creature, in a twisted and contrived incident. Ash wants her ‘touch’, but just one touch is not enough, as he realises the human is more important to him that he could ever have thought and he doesn’t want to leave her behind. Their storyline rolls straight into the Shadow Prophecy, which Queen Melisandre is fearful of, and the separate series which covers that. A great look at the relationship which grows between Callie and Ash, a human and a Seelie Fae. I can’t wait to read the next part of their story. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

“Glamour Eyes” is the first book in the “Wanted by the Fae” Duology by Jessica Lynch, which is set in her “By the Fae” verse and relates the history of Riley/Zella parents. Readers acquainted with the “Touched by the Fae” series don’t need further information, but for those of you who don’t know Riley/Zella story, no worries, this is a prequel story that can be perfectly enjoying without previous knowledge of the verse, and I even have wonderful news for you once you finish the book: you can enjoy the full “Touched by the Fae” series while you wait for the second part of the “Wanted…” series to come out in the Fall… see win/win 😉

“Glamour Eyes” tells the story of Callie Brooks a human with the uncanny gift to see strange things, which she tries to actively ignore, because as long as she ignores ‘them’, ‘them’ being the Fae, they seem to not bother her further. now after almost two decades experiences of ignoring ‘them’, nothing seems to face her any longer. But there is always a first time for everything of a new Fae, in this case a member of the Seelie Court (Aislinn), a Royal Guard who has been exiled to the Iron (the human world) by Queen Melisandre herself due to a minor mistake.

A human girl intended in ignoring the ‘things’ and a Fae who is accustomed to trick, use and discard humans, the more unlikely pair you’d imaged. A couple destined to be together by fate and against all odds. Callie rejects him at first sight, but if Aislinn doesn’t succeeds in convincing her to accept his touch, the Queen will exert her punishment on the human with dread consequences.

Jessica Lynch’s prose is captivating, enticing, and easy to read, with a good mixture of action-packed scenes and very well-done descriptions as well as character centered scenes; with unexpected turns and twists, and equals parts of suspense, intrigue, introspection, and raw emotion, in a fully enjoyable adult fated mates story.

This is the first of two books that are prequel stories for The Shadow Prophecy series; this book is about how Ash and Callie(Riley’s parents) met and fell in love. You don’t need to have read Riley’s books to enjoy this read since it’s a prequel story. Ash is the arrogant tricky Fae that doesn’t think much of humans, but when he sees Callie, something draws him to her. Callie is human, but has the ability to see the Fae. She’s wary of the Fae, but intrigued when she sees Ash in the park. A connection begins to grow between them.

Ash is pretty devious in the beginning; tricking Callie and messing with her life in some pretty messed up ways. Their connection didn’t feel quite genuine to me because I’m not sure Callie’s craving for Ash would’ve been so strong if she wasn’t tricked into some things. Callie doesn’t get all the important information. Lots of passion between these two though! I didn’t quite click with either Ash’s or Callie’s personality traits, but I really enjoyed getting their backstory and am excited to read the next book! There’s a cliffhanger in this book, which if you’ve read the main series, you’ll know what it is. Entertaining romance!

Glamour Eyes is book one in the Wanted by the Fae series by Jessica Lynch. This book is about Riley parents from the Touched by the Fae series. You don’t have to worry if you haven’t read the Touched by the Fae series, you can still read this book. If you like this story, which you will, you should definitely check out Riley’s story next.
This story follows Callie Brooks, a human that can see the Fae. She has years of pretending that she can’t see them though. Ash is a Fae from the Royal Guard, that has been banished to the human world. These two are at odds with each other but they are drawn to each other like magnets too.
As you turn page after page you will be transported into twists and turns, action packed, suspense, and intense emotions of Callie and Ash’s love story. It is a great backstory for continued Touched by the Fae readers or anyone just starting out in Jessica Lynch’s Fae universe.

WOW!! the ERRORS that book has!!! I don't know how Amazon could let a book with so many BIG errors go out on KU!!! This would've been a solid 5 star rating if it weren't for all the errors. STUPID ones at that!!!

It was a REALLY GOOD BOOK if you don't mind a LOT OF ERRORS. I've read the original series, Touched by the Fae, the author wrote and it was REALLY good too, so, I definitely wanted to find out how Riley/Zella, the main character of that series , parents got together. Her parents are the main characters of Wanted by the Fae #1 and they are a human and a high ranking Fae military officer. Their story is spectacular !! I forced myself to finish their book despite the horrible number of errors in it. I restrained myself from throwing my innocent Kindle too. I was that angry.

I highly recommend this book and hopefully the sequel that comes out in late 2021 according to the preview in this book.

Love this story
“Glamour Eyes” is the telling of Callie and Ash’s story in an insightful and exciting way. The scenes are vivid and electric, their characters are so at odds with one another, and yet you feel the magnetic attraction, the passion, and their need to protect each other. It also adds more depth to the history of Zella’s series. Waiting for “Glamour Lies” Book 2!

This is my first book for this series and I found it fascinating and a great place to dive into this author's work. The romance between Callie and Ash was complex and their chemistry steamy. There's drama, action, danger, secrets and suspense in this installment and I can't wait for the next book to see what else will unfold in this exciting story. Good fun!
