Cold. Darkness. Light. Loud static noise. Lightning. Freezing fire and burning ice. Rain that’s so hot it freezes your skin and melts it with ice when it touches.
Rain so hot it turns your skin to porcelain and shatters it like ice (making it smell like actual shit in the process). Rain so cold it stops you stiff and you cease to move forward in time except your ‘thing’ which retracts back into your body at light speed.
You may not be interested in the Future… But, the Future is interested in You.
Samuel Whitcomb Hyde is an American comedian. He is a co-founder of the sketch comedy group Million Dollar Extreme, alongside Nick Rochefort and Charls Carroll. Hyde co-created and co-produced the series World Peace, and was a host of the reality series Fishtank.
Hyde has been involved in several public pranks and internet hoaxes. His transgressive style, including its use of homophobic, antisemitic and racist themes and his public support of far right figures has garnered significant public controversy, and he has been heavily linked with the alt-right.
Beautifully written prose that unironically beats out modern day poets. The density of rhetoric tools and jokes puts this on another level. Enjoy the illustrations in the ebook version or serenade your ears with the Sam Hyde read audio book. Or better yet, do both since you'll be wanting to read it multiple times.
Jaihoo is the prototypical every(bug)man of the century. I know one or two of his carbon copies in real life. Unlike some of my other reviews I won't put a summary. If I want to recall it I'll go back read it again.
This is a sprawling, dense, edge-lord style sci-fi romp into the “future liberals want.” Brilliant madness. Not for the faint of heart. I listened to the audiobook which I think is essential for all of the character voices Sam does. The screaming at the end is unbearable.
