It's the Wild West. Or it might as well be. Cowboys, longhorns, and outlaw bikers still roam the land of the free. But not all are brave.
Hank Davidson is retirement-challenged. Apparently, he's not good at anything but being a cop. But there's still one retirement dream he hasn't realized, and he hopes hitting the open road on his monster V-twin HOG will help alleviate his boredom.
Agatha Harley needs another hot case for her next novel. And when rival outlaw motorcycle gangs show up in their small Texas town, she thinks it's a story made in heaven. What better way to research than to go undercover, posing as Hank's old lady? But she soon discovers she's in a plot she might not be able to escape.
Liliana Hart spent five years teaching music in the public education system. She molded America’s youth, busted kids for smoking pot in the restrooms, and broke up illicit affairs behind the stage on a regular basis. (Liliana’s Addison Holmes Mystery Series, about a small town teacher who gets into a whole lot of trouble, is somewhat autobiographical, but she won’t confess to which parts).
Liliana began reading romance novels with all her new found free time, and when she ran out of things to read, she decided to write her own novels. The result was a 150,000 word thriller—a dazzling adventure—where the heroine was a thirty-year-old virgin assassin (Yes, you read that right). She couldn’t imagine why people weren’t knocking down her door to read it, but she persevered and began writing a second book. She finally got the hang of things, and eventually learned that losing one’s virginity wasn’t all that romantic after all. All of her books involve some kind of suspense (she just can't help herself), laughter, and a lot of steamy sex.
Since the failure of her first attempt, Liliana’s books have won awards such as: The Daphne Du Maurier, The Suzannah, The Linda Howard Award of Excellence, The Maggie, and many others. Her affiliations include Romance Writers of America and Mystery Writers of America.
Liliana loves to cook, and is addicted to reading, Internet Boggle, kickboxing, and Bones. She lives in a big, rambling house in Texas with a couple of cats to keep her company. She loves to get emails from readers.
I like the bond between the characters, and the basic storyline, but for some reason this just wasn’t my cup of tea. Although waitress Penny has been acting weird for the previous 2 books, so I’m intrigued as to what is going to happen between her and Agatha.
Throughout the books Hank has been trying to figure out what sort of hobby he could dive into now that he's retired. What is a good retirement hobby? Deer hunting...nope, he fell asleep in the deer stand. Fishing...another no, the fishing pole got the best of him and he ended up with a hook in his lip. Next? A big motorcycle. This particular past-time comes just in time because Hank and Agatha need to help Coil figure out who killed an MC Rattler years ago. A club member who knew where much of the gold, from when Texas was still independent from the U.S,. was hidden. A realization that hits Hank hard is that he's not sure he can trust his best friend, Coil.
In Get Your Murder Running it looks like Hank and Agatha's relationship may be developing beyond friendship. This isn't something that's easy for Hank....nor for Agatha after her stalker incident. However, the fit perfectly together.
I enjoyed the intrigue, mystery, the police work and undercover aspect. Although this was another short story, I feel if Liliana & Scott wanted to expand on this story it could have been a full novel.
Liliana Hart and Scott Silverii sure know how to keep a reader engrossed in a story. In this book Agatha and Hank are investigating the murder of a biker gang president.
This one was intense; I wanted a ride on that Motorcycle myself. For the record, I'm not moving to TEXAS, there are rattlesnakes there, and I hate snakes. But this one, I just couldn't put it down last night. My eyes were seeing blurry, not because I was crying, I wanted to know what happened. I promise you; you want to know, oh, and Agatha finally kisses Hank... Whoohoo. Anyway fast pace, suspense, gunshots, rattlesnakes... I know I said that already right. Who can you trust, Hank has no idea, he was being set up by his best friend, so believe me you will love this one. I feel bad for Hank; he's dealing with so much pain inside himself, he needs to move on, let the past go, that is all I'm saying about this. Don't worry, Agatha is scared also, of the feeling she his having for Hank, there is not sexy love scene here, come on it's a murder mystery, but they did kiss... they also found who killed Beau and his wife. Bad cop's good cops,
Hank is still struggling to fill his time in retirement. He is NOT an outdoorsman, as his escapades with fishing and deer hunting have shown. Now he has gone to the time honoured tradition of middle aged men and bought a motorcycle. And a new mystery also needs solving. What happened to a notorious biker and his hoard of gold? Why is Coil so wrapped up in this?
Agatha and Hank finally seem to be moving beyond friendship but Agatha's stalker incident keeps her on edge and still untrusting. Hank has his own issues with his wife's death, which he finds is also wrapped up in this mystery! Great wee book, just wish it was longer
This was another excellent cozy mystery. Hank and Aggie are getting closer and thinking about starting a relationship. Hank bought his retirement motorcycle, problem is he doesn't know how to ride it. Sheriff Coil's son finds the skeleton of a biker on top of a pile of gold. Hank and Aggie are used to solving cold cases not active. They have to navigate the machinations of dirty cops and a 1% MC to solve this mystery.
This is a smart, funny, well researched series of novellas. It is hard to put them down once you start. If you like humor with your suspense , you will like this series.
The back story is complex and not well fleshed out. The story skips forward quickly sometimes, making it hard to follow. But still, it is a quick read and entertaining.
I liked it!! Easy to read still had quirks unable to figure but wrapped up in the end!!! Another well written story by Liliana Hart !!!! I really love her stories, glad I am retired and have much more time to spend with her stories!!!!!
And so the tension is cranked up! This time the two sleuths are literally in danger, not only from bikers and dirty cops but also in real danger of messing up their newly blossoming relationship.
Not my favorite, a little too much violence and bad things happening to good people. Still like the characters and may read another in the series to see how I feel!
This book was even better than the last. They just keep getting better and the chemistry between Hank and Aggie is finally starting to heat up. I love that they kissed and had a deep conversation.

4 🌟Stars...’Get Your Murder Running,’ is book four in the Harley and Davidson Mystery series. It was a fast-paced and intense read. The storyline was very promising, though it did feel rather rushed. There was such a great buildup, so much was coming into play, then it all fell a little flat. Even so, it truly was an enjoyable read!
