Absolutely loved this book! I'd put off reading it for a long time as I'd started The Four Winds and I couldn't get into that so I looked for different authors to read. So glad I went back to try this again. Such a powerful, moving story.
I enjoy Kristin Hannah’s style of writing. This one not so much? A little far fetched and I probably was comparing her books The Women and The Great Alone. This one is about a little girl that was kidnapped along with her mother and taken to the woods to hide them. He is very abusive towards them, and eventually they are left there to die. The little girl, Alice survives and escapes and wonders into a small town. Of course there are twists so I’m not going to spoil it for any future readers.

Would like to give this 3.5 stars. Not one of her best, the idea of a child living in the wild is a bit hard to swallow, but the love that the child brings to the people involved is real
I’m not sure where to start with all the things wrong with this book! Despite that, I did actually enjoy it. I can’t give it a 3 though, it’s absolute trash 😆
I enjoyed this book. That said, it is a little 'twee'...a litlle unbelievable...the idea of a 'feral' child...who actually tames quite easily. A big ask to thoroughly engage with the idea. However, it is emptional. A whole lot of people 'find themselves'...maybe too many. I wnted to return to it to find out more..so a tad compelling at times.
Lost me 3/4 of the way through. Then I skim read it and re read parts missed - still not a fan. Normally love her books but it just dragged on and I wasn’t sold on some story lines 🤷🏻♀️ beautifully written but lacked something?
The first novel I read of this author. It did not disappoint. Hannah has you enthralled in the captivating story of the you “feral” girl and how she came to be.
