I was tempted... to stop reading this a few times. I've read some great books by this author, but unfortunately this is not among them. It quite literally skips over all of the parts where there's actual growth to this relationship, instead focusing on drama that's meant to be mysterious but is really kinda predictable. This still has the intense, unique writing that I've come to expect from this author, paired with a storyline that did have (unfulfilled) potential. While there are parts of it that I enjoyed, this certainly isn't my favorite from the author.
The story follows Bailey, a woman who is trying to put her life back together after becoming sober (lots of triggers in this one). She's been clean for awhile, but is still struggling to pay her rent, so Bailey takes a job that she knows isn't good for her. Working at a night club is not the best idea for a recovering addict, and her moody, intriguing boss is another kind of temptation altogether. As Bailey and Drew fight their attraction to each other while trying to maintain a professional relationship, it's not long before lines get crossed.
Let's start with the good: I really liked the idea behind the storyline. The blurb doesn't address Bailey's addiction, but it's a HUGE part of the story, so that's important to know going in. This will not be for everyone. I liked the pull between these two and their struggle to keep from going down the wrong path - and I would've loved the focus to be on that tension. Instead, it's much more about the drama, and this boss/employee romance gave off creepy vibes that I'm sure the author did not fully intend (inappropriate touching, feeling cheap/used, questionable assignments, reminders that the boss has slept with employees before). It was not sexy to me. Pair that with a storyline that goes out of its way to avoid anything romantic, and I just wasn't feeling this relationship. Bailey actually interacts more with a (very attractive) male coworker in the first half than Drew, and I'd wager that she might have more conversations with him too. All that adds up to a romance that I couldn't get all that invested in, no matter how twisty and interesting the writing is. I wanted to like this a lot more than I actually did. I still look forward to whatever the author writes next, but this wasn't a winner for me. I received an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this workplace romance.

I read the blurb for Tempted, and I knew I had to read this book; I will give you a trigger warning, drug addiction. Keep an open mind. Loving an addict is painful, and you make mistakes.
Bailey is a recovering addict. She turned to drugs to mask the pain of losing her father, Best Friend and feeling unloved by her mother. Now two years sober and on the verge of being evicted, she is desperate for a job. Her sister’s fiancé hooked her up as a waitress at one of NYC's high-scale club. Not one an ideal place for an addict to work.
Drew is the club owner, with him battling his demons and secrets. Both didn't expect to be instantly attracted to each other. Baily is still struggling with day to day life and their new past. Hooking up with her boss was not something that was not ideal. I will say it's 3/ 5 for the steam factor. Honestly, I don't read Tempted for the steam.
Drew’s actions speak louder than his words. He has secrets that weigh him down. Bailey's reaction to certain events frustrated the hell out of me. Don't get me wrong; she is a lot stronger than you think. This is a story of turmoil, survivors guilt, addiction, and love with second chances. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I almost decided against this book when I started and learned the heroine is a recovering addict which isn't something I enjoy reading about but I decided to stick with it and I'm actually glad that I did. Bailey and Drew had a lot of chemistry and I found it captivating to read and see how long they could keep from giving in to their connection.
I struggled with the actual romance though and there were times that details felt glossed over and it made it hard for me to connect with them as a couple. The sexual tension was amazing but I wanted to see more than just a physical attraction with them. Overall, it was a fun story and I'm interested in trying more from this author.

Tempted is the first book I read from the author.
First of all, I just started without knowing what to expect. While hoping to read the classic boss-employee romance, I came across a completely different story.
To be honest, when I started the book I was never able to adapt. I read the book in a week and it literally crawled in my hand.
The first half was very monotonous. I tried so hard to read the emotions between the lines, but it seemed impossible. Everything happens in the book, but nothing happens at the same time.
I only felt the attraction between Drew and Bailey during their first meeting. The rest of the book was not quite what I wanted.
I'd love to read more of that sexual attraction between them. Also, Drew's callous expression flew away after meeting Bailey. Neither character was consistent. Also, we haven't learned anything worthwhile about the background of either character. That's why Drew's heroism was pointless. I understand you lived something in the past, man, but...
Bailey and Drew's stories revolving around addiction could have been written much more beautifully and passionately. It could have been more impressive.
Although the author wanted to create chaos, I think she was not successful.
The only part of the book that I loved was the last 100 pages. Other than that, I didn't like the relationship between Bailey and Drew, nor the disconnected narrative style. I wish it wasn't like that but that's the truth.

Plot Summary :
Bailey is a recovering drug addict who needs to make money really fast because she just got her eviction notice. That is until she gets a job at a club. A club is the last place she should be , seeing her addictions , but she bravely goes there to only do her job.
That is until she meets the hot owner of that club. Drew Lawson. He is everything she has ever wanted and yet so far away from her. Drew has his own past. Losing his previous girlfriend to overdose he is hurting so much. Soon these too develop a relationship and connect on a deep level too!
But things are not that easy. Seeing their pasts , they both have their demons to destroy , demons that might as well make them stay away from each other too!!
Overall Opinion :
The book was amazing for me! I loved the initial plotline , however it got a bit boring in the middle but picked up again towards the end.
The main characters had amazing chemistry and their dynamic was something that I looked forward to! Drew and Bailey were amazing in every way and I loved seeing them both battle their demons and overcome their fears to be with each other.
I will admit that I expected a bit more towards the end , but still the book was interesting for me. I won't say that I'll be re reading this one , but I can definitely recommend this book to others as a one time read for all the contemporary romance lovers who would love broody yet soft heroes who finally find their match in a sweet yet sassy heroine!
Final Verdict :
A sweet Romance!
The main leads had an amazing chemistry.
A one time read contemporary romance for me.
No major plot twists.
A sassy Romance with a good HEA.

I was hoping it would get better as I went along but it didn't, it just dragged on and the chapters would end and start with no conclusion. I couldn't connect with the main characters and their chemistry. The heroine was just annoying and whiny.

He has more money than he needs, women at his disposal, and he owns the hottest nightclub in the city....yet, he has doesn’t want any of it. He’s paying for a tragic mistake from his past, which is why when a favor is called in to give a desperate girl down on her luck a job, he can’t resist. When he sees her for the first time, she’s a reminder of that very past and she becomes his penance. Only desperation would bring Bailey into a place of such temptation.....the alcohol, the atmosphere, but most importantly her irresistibly sexy new boss. She should stay away, yet she finds herself drawn to him.....it’s an addiction, one that neither wants to kick. And it might be the very thing that destroys them both.

I have what I would consider a rocky “reading relationship” with Ava, this is my 5th book of hers and I have yet to read one that is worthy of 5 stars. This is my lowest rating of one of hers yet, maybe that rating was due to what she used as a main plot driver and how personal it was for me....and when something is deeply personal I take great offense when it’s treated with so little care or respect.
That plot driver? The heroine is a recovering addict with addiction being a main piece of the story (within different elements of the plot and with different characters). Maybe I would’ve enjoyed it more had I not found her portrayal of Bailey as absurdly ridiculous and downright laughable.
I will never know because that’s not what she did, so the story I read left me......well, pissed off. And with that let’s get right into what made me feel this way (buckle up, this may be a long ride).....
What pissed me off:

🖤First and foremost, her insulting depiction of recovery and addiction in general. Bailey is a recovering pain pill addict and reformed party girl (she wasn’t described as an alcoholic in traditional terms, she liked to go wild and drink excessively). When we meet her she’s over two years clean without a single relapse despite all the stressors in her life (eviction, financial stress, some kind is sexual harassment by former boss, etc). This is commendable, especially considering she is able to successfully overcome one of the hardest addictions to kick, one of a only 3 that have W/Ds that could indeed be medically dangerous/life threatening and one that most people have to get help to kick....yet she just decides one day “no more”. It’s admirable really, until you soon realize she is “triggered” by FUCKING EVERYTHING. Not the drug she was addicted too, but simply being in a nightclub working has her unable to “cope” with all the sudden cravings to relapse. Hell, at times she seemed confused at what drug she was even addicted to.....
“My arm starts to throb, and I feel the familiar need clawing through my veins.”
.....she was taking pain pills, so why is she describing it like a heroin craving?? It was insulting (I abused prescribed pain pills in my past that became an addiction, which I’ve been clean for over 5 years now) that she is made to be so weak she somehow suddenly can’t handle an ounce of stress or function in a nightclub (where she’s not even around the drug she’s recovering from) without wanting to relapse. I mean reading about Bailey you would think someone who was formerly addicted to pain pills (or anything in general) seriously couldn’t function in society....I don’t know one person in recovery that Bailey even remotely portrays. Then you have her former addiction making her the expert in all things, including somehow perfectly deciphering a seriously intoxicated person’s severe slurring....
His words are spoken in staccato, hardly making sense, but having been an addict, it’s somehow easier for me to decipher. Probably from years of reviewing my own text.
.....or how she acts like someone who is in recovery cannot possibly be around someone who is an addict (of different drugs) and be there for them and help them, even though those who have been successful in recovery as she has tend to make the BEST support system. Or how after two years it takes something so small (in the grand scheme of things) to completely undo her progress and even then, it’s absurd. Somehow despite how easily triggered she is by EVERYTHING, it only takes her thirty days to be confidently ready to return to everyday life which lead to what I considered the most insulting line of the book....
“Without the proper tools, sobriety will be a lifelong battle.”
.....because guess what? Sobriety is a lifelong battle WITH the proper tools as well.
And even worse, even with her “proper tools” she STILL is represented as if someone in recovery is so incapable of living a normal life without constantly being desperate to use....
An hour later, I feel rejuvenated. A huge weight is lifted off me as the craving has passed. As long as I keep up with my meetings, I think everything will be okay. No slipups.
.....my issue isn’t that she’s a recovering drug addict and party girl, it’s that she’s represented as being so weak that she cannot function like a normal adult despite having done so just fine for two years previously. And what’s worse? Drew is also a recovering drug user/partier and yet he has NO problem at all not only owning a club but having the occasional drink AND being around his drug of choice more than once in the story.
What I didn’t like:
🖤The repetition was ridiculous.....from the x shades of x that was used every chance she got.....
“.....ten shades of red....”, “...fifty shades of sexy.”
.....or how we could sum up how the theme of the story is just one big repetition that goes round and round.....
Ongoing theme of the story:
Bailey makes it known she’s a recovering addict by any means necessary, Drew just wants to help but blames himself for others problems/choices, Bailey runs away instead of being an adult anytime things get uncomfortable, Drew gets her back, she continues to put herself in the most ridiculous situations that no one with any common sense would over and over again which results in her “fighting for her life”, Drew blames himself and thinks he is useless, wash rinse repeat.
....or my favorite, how she basically gives the big “shocker” away by basically drilling this into your head over and over again....
That’s the truth. I might not remember taking the drugs, but regardless, I did.
....I mean if we didn’t know something was off already, you would know by how much it’s brought up.
🖤The fact that ANY connection outside of him doing everything in his power to “save her” bc she reminded him of the only girl he ever loved that OD’ed is skipped over.
🖤There were a few details/parts that didn’t “add up” or make sense.....I won’t list them all, but here are a few of my “faves”.....
“One hundred and that’s the most I’ll go until you’ve proven yourself.”
....we are expected to believe she would be blown away by and accept an offer on $100k/year for a job when we are told she was making $3k-$4k/NIGHT (to put that in context, making $3k/night and working 4 nights a week all year would equal $624k/year) as a VIP waitress (and over $1k/night or following the same context as above that’s $208k/year as a regular cocktail waitress).
Doesn’t make a lot of sense anymore does it?
“Does that make you hot? Do you want me to prove that you’re the only girl I’m fucking? I will. Right here on this desk, I’ll show you there hasn’t been anyone else.” I need him to show me I’m the only one.
.....I’m still trying to figure out how him simply screwing her on his desk (in private) proves he’s not cheating or messing with anyone else but maybe I’m missing something.
It’s soft and sweet, and even though our lips barely touch, it’s filled with passion. It knocks the breath out of my lungs.
.....or how I’m still trying to figure out how something is both soft & sweet AND so filled with passion it knocks the breath out her lungs.
The Verdict:
This was by far my most disappointing experience with Ava, but it’s not the only time one of her books has let me down. Does that mean I will stop reading her work? Absolutely not, I have two 4 star rated reads I loved enough to keep me going and a hope that there will come a day that a book of hers is so consuming that a 5 star rating won’t be enough to describe my love for it. This isn’t it, and it’s one I definitely can’t recommend (unless you have no real-life experience with recovery/addiction to base her “take” on it off of).....I’m likely being harsh based off my own personal opinions, but that’s what a review is for....to express my opinion on my overall reading experience and that’s what I did.

Bailey makes it known she’s a recovering addict by any means necessary, Drew just wants to help but blames himself for others problems/choices, Bailey runs away instead of being an adult anytime things get uncomfortable, Drew gets her back, she continues to put herself in the most ridiculous situations that no one with any common sense would over and over again which results in her “fighting for her life”, Drew blames himself and thinks he is useless, wash rinse repeat.
....or my favorite, how she basically gives the big “shocker” away by basically drilling this into your head over and over again....
That’s the truth. I might not remember taking the drugs, but regardless, I did.
....I mean if we didn’t know something was off already, you would know by how much it’s brought up.
🖤The fact that ANY connection outside of him doing everything in his power to “save her” bc she reminded him of the only girl he ever loved that OD’ed is skipped over.
🖤There were a few details/parts that didn’t “add up” or make sense.....I won’t list them all, but here are a few of my “faves”.....
“One hundred and that’s the most I’ll go until you’ve proven yourself.”
....we are expected to believe she would be blown away by and accept an offer on $100k/year for a job when we are told she was making $3k-$4k/NIGHT (to put that in context, making $3k/night and working 4 nights a week all year would equal $624k/year) as a VIP waitress (and over $1k/night or following the same context as above that’s $208k/year as a regular cocktail waitress).
Doesn’t make a lot of sense anymore does it?
“Does that make you hot? Do you want me to prove that you’re the only girl I’m fucking? I will. Right here on this desk, I’ll show you there hasn’t been anyone else.” I need him to show me I’m the only one.
.....I’m still trying to figure out how him simply screwing her on his desk (in private) proves he’s not cheating or messing with anyone else but maybe I’m missing something.
It’s soft and sweet, and even though our lips barely touch, it’s filled with passion. It knocks the breath out of my lungs.

The Verdict:
This was by far my most disappointing experience with Ava, but it’s not the only time one of her books has let me down. Does that mean I will stop reading her work? Absolutely not, I have two 4 star rated reads I loved enough to keep me going and a hope that there will come a day that a book of hers is so consuming that a 5 star rating won’t be enough to describe my love for it. This isn’t it, and it’s one I definitely can’t recommend (unless you have no real-life experience with recovery/addiction to base her “take” on it off of).....I’m likely being harsh based off my own personal opinions, but that’s what a review is for....to express my opinion on my overall reading experience and that’s what I did.

My first 2021 read, Tempted is a standalone contemporary romance dealing with some serious issues. There are trigger warnings for substance abuse, pills and alcohol abuse, overdose and car crash.
I was a bit overwhelmed by this love story between Bailey, a recovering addict and Drew, survivor of substance abuse.
I appreciated the author's in-depth research about the topics related in this book. It is clear she tried to make this story as real and as relatable as possible.
Bailey is fragile. She has been clean for 2 years and she tries to keep her head above water as best she can. Due to lack of money, she starts working in a club owned by Drew. Their attraction is instantanious but their relationship is a bit toxic, filled with half truths. It was hard to read Bailey's internal monologue, her lack of trust and to understand how easily one can slip back into the habit without a support system in place and real rehab.
I was a bit confused at times about where the story was going and how it was evolving. And at times the swxy dialogue was a bit cringy. This book is only mildly sexy, the plot revolving more around addiction and it's consequences than anything else.
Overall it was an interesting book and I would recommend it to readers favoring really angsty, troubled romances.

Bailey's desperate - she needs a job so she won't be homeless. She's a sober addict, though, so not just any job is healthy for her. Too bad the job she's hooked up with is at a club. Yep. But, beggars cannot be choosers, and she's desperate like I said.
When she sees the most gorgeous man she's ever laid eyes on at the club and finds he's Drew, her new boss, she's rattled. She's not looking for a man or a relationship, especially with her boss. But the two cannot seem to keep themselves away. Will her past and his demons keep them from finding happiness together?
I wasn't expecting Tempted to be quite so emotional. I should have considering Bailey's a sober addict, but I guess I wasn't expecting Drew's demons, too, the combination was heavy at times. But I loved the two together, and I especially loved Bailey. She's strong, she's tough, and she's a sweetheart. She weathered a lot - loss, addiction, about to be homeless, to name a few. But through it all, she persevered and came out on the other side even stronger for everything. Drew was not my favorite guy at first, I will admit, but he completely redeemed himself well before the end. I think my favorite part about him, aside from his serious hotness, was how much he loved Bailey. Their chemistry is positively fire and I loved reading their journey.

Tempted by Ava Harrison tells an addicting and beautiful love story of Drew Lawson and Bailey Jameson. Two broken people whom find love and healing within each other after both experience tragic loss of a loved one.
This story pulled me in from the first page. Bailey is a recovering drug addict and is down on her luck. She has just received an eviction notice and needs to make money fast. She calls upon her sister’s fiancé, Cal to get her a job at an Elite Club called Club Silver. Bailey knows after two years of sobriety that a club is that last place she needs to be at but she holds her head high and does what she needs to. What she doesn’t expect to find is the club owner and billionaire Drew Lawson. She is immediately attracted to him and finds herself unable to resist him.
Drew Lawson on the surface is a gorgeous man. He carries himself with strength and confidence but on the instead he is struggling and hurting as well. After loosing his previous girlfriend to an overdose he sees Bailey and is immediately drawn to the pain in her eyes. As he gets to know her he cannot resist her company and will stop at nothing to protect her and help her with her demons. Underneath his gorgeous looks he has a huge heart. He has grown up with privilege and wealth but he has never felt a connection to another person like Bailey. There was beauty and growth in his character as his feelings developed and I loved how he navigated a professional and personal relationship with her.
While I loved the story there were some parts I struggled with. I felt the author could have spent more time developing the love story between Drew and Bailey. I felt the deep, raw connection between them but I felt the author could have developed it even further. Instead I found that the story focused more on the drama and obstacles in their relationship and wished for more of a balance.

“She consumes my thoughts and keeps me up at night. I’m falling apart at the hands of a girl whose presence alone could ruin me. Yeah I can’t find it in me to care.”

This novel was not what I expected, I am a little uncertain about how I feel about it. The synopsis sounded so good, but I found the novel itself a little lacklustre. I enjoyed the initial reactions and chemistry between the characters, but found myself loosing interest as the story played on. The ending was what really disappointed me though, in the span of 20 pages too much happen, and wrapped up too quickly. However, I did enjoy that it was well-written, that is always a plus to me❤️
The characters as their own persons, were good. Bailey was a recovering addict, she was trying to better herself, but constantly found herself in battle with her past and present. She had some overall great development. I had a lot of sympathy for her character because of her past. As for Drew, he was a different kind of alpha. He was hot and cold and held a lot of guilt over his past. He was very sensitive, which is against his reputation. I didn’t really enjoy the characters past stories because I found it monotonous. It lacked the oomph I expected, especially since it was hinted about so dramatically throughout the novel. There pasts were also quiet similar which I found quite dull.
I enjoyed the aspect of having a character who was sober, the entwinement of drug use was definitely different to other novels I have read. I think it is important to have the talk of drug-use in novels because it is serious, just like mental health.
I would give this novel 2.5-silver-stars✨

Bailey Jameson had to take a job in Club Silver because she desperately needs the money. Her past isn't exactly right for working in an environment of temptation and sins. Drew, the owner of the club thought he is just doing a favor for business by hiring Bailey. But soon he realises he need to protect her at any cost. From everything. Even when his demons are eating him alive.
This story deals with sensitive and complicated topics like addiction, abuse and difficult psychological issues. Bailey and Drew both have lots of scars. And the story was mostly about how they face their fears and learn to live free and happy. This story definitely have riveting moments those touched me deeply. But somehow the moments didn't come together to create something beautiful. I didn't feel the chemistry. I felt Baliey went through a lot and she tried her best but she was still acting on reckless impulse till the last chapter. Drew carried the major burden of the story. He was the perfect man. Loyal. Protective. Caring. With a big heart. And I felt he spent a lot of time picking up pieces of Bailey. In fact the major part of the story was about how Bailey fought her demons. It could be the heartbreaking story of the year!
If you are looking for an angsty romance with complex characters and complicated feels, you should definitely try Temptation by Ava Harrison.

This is the first book that I’ve read by Ava Harrison and it certainly won’t be the last.
Bailey and Drew come from different worlds but they are both fighting their demons. Drew is a young club owner and Bailey is a recovering addict who desperately needs a job. Drew gives Bailey a job as a favour but ultimately falls for her. They both feel a strong connection when they meet. Their chemistry is one of my favourite parts of the story and I’m happy that they both got a happy ending.
I loved the character’s Carter and Harper, they were both so supportive of the main characters whilst having their own personal demons to deal with.
A heartbreakingly beautiful love story, it drew me in and refused to let me go. From the first chapter to the last it was an emotional rollercoaster. I absolutely loved this book and was unable to put it down.

It’s raw in so many moments that I had to stop and take a deep breath because some of the topics in here are hard to read but the author has fulfilled my addiction to romance even in the hardest times.
They come from different worlds but are bound in more ways than expected and their love and chemistry is catching fire throughout the pages.
And I loved how each one gave themselves time to heal, that’s where my highest points go for this novel.

Once again Ava let me jump in and ride the roller coaster of emotions. This time with Drew and Bailey. I loved to see the journey of their friendship. I do not want to give too many details. I went into the story blind and think others should also. I am now once again current on all of my Ava Harrison Collection. She is super talented and so happy for all of her success.

This, in my humble opinion is the most angsty-ridden book I've read from the author.
It was a slow burn for me, mainly because I can't relate to the heroine. I live vicariously through my heroines but I wasn't really able to connect with Bailey but it's probably just me.
The push and pull was frustrating.
There are triggers in this book like addiction, abuse, mental, emotional... Felt wrung most of times.
It was heartbreaking and heartwarming... this wasn't an easy read. If you're looking for an angsty, second chance at life romance then this is it.

The push and pull was frustrating.
There are triggers in this book like addiction, abuse, mental, emotional... Felt wrung most of times.
It was heartbreaking and heartwarming... this wasn't an easy read. If you're looking for an angsty, second chance at life romance then this is it.

I’m at the airport right now so this is going to be short. I really enjoyed the book, for me it was really light and sweet even though the topics that were talked about and that the characters went through were not.
I loved Drew he was a complete sweetie with Bae and I loved that. Bae was so strong and amazing, I just had to love her.
The book isn’t 5 stars because 1 I didn’t love it and 2 I still feel there were some lose ends but I really enjoyed it.
So if you want read it, it left me with a goofy ass smile on my face.

He will not tolerate drug use in his club
When a business partner asks him to hire Bailey he is reluctant at first because her presence is a constant reminder of his failure and guilt but then he changes his mind and all he finds that all he wants is to help and support her – no, he needs to help her and give her a second chance because only than he will get one for himself.
Drew is not the usual macho man I read. He is loyal and strong and compassionate and loving and he is there for whom he cares for and he has a weight on his heart
Bailey has almost reached rock bottom
She has no money, she dropped college and she is about to be evicted from her apartment and although she has been clean for two years, she knows that being an addict – working in a night club is not a good option for her – but she has no choice
So she will do the job but will stand up to the man
He becomes her rock
She becomes his obsession
" I WANT TO SAVE YOU' BUT I WILL ALWAYS FAIL IF YOU CAN'T SAVE YOURSELF"
Being an addict and staying clean is an everyday struggle so for Bailey it is a challenge but for Drew it is a chance to deal with his demons
How could they know that this decision they both make will change their lives and give them a chance of redemption and a chance to make peace with their past, that the strong emotions they have to one another is their chance to make a new beginning for the future
This is a book about second chances – for helping others to have them but also to give them to yourself. To accept your part in the past but no guilt for what you couldn't do and believe you have a right to be happy

This did not read like a romance novel AT ALL. It begins with Bailey, a recovering addict who's been sober for two years getting a job working at a night club. That in itself didn't make sense to me. I mean I understand that she doesn't have the qualifications for too many other things but of all the jobs for an alcoholic to get, she chooses the one at a nightclub where alcohol flows freely and drugs are also part of the scene?
Now let's talk about Drew. He lost someone to drug abuse a while back and he feels the need to help people who are in the same position by giving them a job at his club. How is that supposed to HELP THEM?
Bailey seemed flaky and unreliable. Every time something happened to make her think Drew was dishonest with her, she ran away from him without actually communicating her feelings and getting his side of the story. Besides that, she also put her own health, sobriety and safety in jeopardy every time things went wrong in her relationship with Drew.
I was really hoping there would be some growth, that she'd learn to appreciate herself and that she'd learn to face her problems but nothing of that sort even happened.
Bailey was a character I found TSTL. She made me question why Drew was even going to such lengths to be with her. I would've liked if they had each communicated how they would go forward in their relationship and how they would face issues together in the future but I didn't get any of that. This was a story about a guy who blames himself for everything and a girl who doesn't take enough responsibility for her own health and safety, a story that was hopelessly disappointing and incredibly frustrating to listen to.
Now I'm going to go find something fun and easy to listen to so that I can forget I ever spent time listening to this.

I was so intrigued with this book after reading the blurb, and it ended not being what I expected, haha. It's not a bad thing, just different to what I thought this story would be. It's not a spoiler, but the blurb doesn't address addiction, but it's quite a big part of the story. Therefore I believe that I should mention it in this review.
Bailey and Drew are interesting together, and I like their chemistry even though it sometimes felt like they were more friends than lovers. As I said, the story deals with complicated topics such as addiction and psychological disorders, and it was intense and heartbreaking to see Bailey fight her demons. I also absolutely loved Drew and how he helped her coping with this.
Overall, Tempted is an emotional, heartbreaking, intense romance filled with angst, complex characters and so many feelings. Yes, I would have liked more depth to their relationship, but I still enjoyed the story very much.
I recommend this book.

I absolutely loved this book. I would even have to say one of my favorites by Ava Harrison. That is saying a lot because her books are amazing and I love each one. What makes this one so special – it’s so real. You feel as though you are going through and feeling everything Bailey and Drew are feeling.
Working in a night club is not the place you want to be when you’re a recovering addict. The temptation is so great. But, Bailey is desperate. It’s this or be evicted from her home. Drew hires her as a “favor” to Cal. He knows about her addiction but there is so much more he doesn’t know about her. He lost Alexis and lives with the guilt of her death every day and now he sees Bailey and wants nothing more than to “help” her. Maybe he can save her unlike Alexis.
This story is so strong and will hold you to the last word. From the minute Drew meets Bailey he feels the connection and so does Bailey. Will the temptation of the party scene make Bailey relapse or can she move forward and get her life on track? Will Drew be able to move passed the guilt of Alexis and have a future with Bailey. Or will he not be enough for her.
This story will not let you go. I found myself unable to put it down. I had to know what was going to happen next. Even until the last chapter things were still happening and you couldn’t wait to see how it would all pan out. A 5 star read by far and truly one of my favorites of all Ava Harrison’s books.

love Ava Hrrison’s writing. She is one of the best at blending twists and turns and emotion together, making you keep turning the page long into the night, and this book is no different. I was hooked on Drew and Bailey’s story. I laughed. I cried. I shouted at my kindle. I swooned.
Bailey has an addictive personality, so putting herself in a situation where she could be tempted isn't the best option but the only one she has. Enter her soon to be brother-in-law setting her up at a bar with renowned club owner, Drew Lawson. Drew has demons of his own and although he has his own reasons for hiring Bailey. Soon they realise their attraction is undeniable. Sparks fly when they are around one another and although they try to fight it, soon they are having delicious encounters that can only be described as kindle melting. There is a fair amount of angst in this story so if that isn't your thing, you may want to pass on this one. But if you love all the feels and seeing twists and plots comes together, you will love it!
Andi Arndt and Joe Arden are fantastic. They were the perfect voices to bring this story to life. They both carried so much emotion in their voices that it felt palpable. That they were enduring these trials as the characters. I was beautiful to listen to. The production was great with no issues.

Do I want to be Tempted? By Drew Lawson? Absolutely. I loved the storyline of the this book so much. Ava Harrison is the Queen of heartfelt, steamy romances.
Bailey is a recovering addict and asks her sister’s fiancé for help to find a job. He gets her a job at Club Silver, the hottest club in town where the cliente is upper class and she’ll be able to survive living in New York City.
Drew Lawson is the tough, alpha owner who does not mess around. Losing a loved one to drugs, he does not put up with that nonsense. When Drew and Bailey first see each other, it’s electric. It’s undeniable. Both will be tempted.
“Then live… with me. Allow me to help you heal your scars.” This line gutted me and healed me.
If the book has a grumpy, alpha guy? Sign me up. I love Drew. And since reviews are 100%, he’s mine. Bailey was a character you want to root for. The struggle she went through and came out on the other side is so admirable.
