Lawrence is in trouble. That’s nothing new. What is unexpected is how he accidentally ends up mated to a human. Oops. To make matters worse for this tomcat, Charlotte has no idea what he is, and when he finally shows her his majestic liger shape? She is less than impressed and dares to ask if he’s up to date on his shots. As if her lack of respect isn’t enough, she doesn’t believe they can have a happily ever after. How to make her understand she’s the only woman with the power to make him purr?
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️💜 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔 World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏 Character development: 🤓☹️😙🥰 Narrator: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙 Narration Type: Solo Narration
The Hero:Lawrence - he is a Liger and a confirmed bachelor. He planned to be single forever though he loved the ladies and there is no place better to pick up a woman than a wedding. So when his good friend Dean ties the knot for real in Russia. Lawrence is on the prowl. He sees a cute and awkward woman.
The heroine:Charlotte - she is a human and works for a catering company. She can tend to be clumsy so she usually does dishes, but they were short on staff so she had to do waitressing. She is small and some of the people at the wedding called her ‘fun sized’ which pissed her off and she nearly dropped her tray, when a handsome man caught both her and the tray at the last minute.
The Story: Charlotte used to work for a marketing firm, until she quit and went on a trip to Russia to find her brother who traveled Europe saying he was working on a special project, but was last seen in Russia seven months ago. She has been working for the caterer to try to make enough money for the trip back home to the U.S. When the man that saved her from falling starts to flirt with her. She goes back to the kitchen and does the dishes for the rest of the night.
Troy Duran did the narration and I very rarely listen to books that are solo narration, but I really like Troy Duran, so I grabbed books 9-12 of this series. I like something different every once in a while and there aren’t many Liger shifter books out there, so here we are. I like Troys super deep voice and he does women’s voices pretty well.
I liked the back story of Charlotte, in Russia looking for her missing brother. She meets Lawrence when she is about to give up, but doesn’t quite know where to go. All her belongings were in a storage unit in the states that burned down, so she doesn’t know if she should stay, go back or go somewhere new when she gets enough money. The romance in this one was good as well and there was a ton of chemistry between the two main characters.
* I would recommend reading the previous books to gain understanding about the world and the characters.
Charlotte has had it, seeking her brother in Russia has been unsuccessful thus far, she has a horrible job and now she has been kidnapped by violent strangers and she doesn't even understand why. However, she is kidnapped with a handsome stranger, the massive liger Lawrence, even though she doesn't know about him being a shifter and what the bite in her neck means. Because they are mated and Charlotte does not know what the consequences of that will be for her and her future.
This was more fun that the last book, but I am really having trouble with the shallowness of these books. Did I like this in the past? Neither of the characters go beyond the surface of their emotions or offer us any depth of personality and the romance comes across a bit forced. There could have been quite a good investigative angle here, but it gets completely lost in between the sex and the descriptions of the forms of the people in this book. It felt dry and uninspired and I wonder if I will ever go back to this author after this omnibus ends.
Love being back in this world and really loved this book! This series has always had strong, independent heroines and even though Charlotte was human, she was no exception. She and Lawrence went on a crazy ride and I loved watching them both fall for each other. I'm so happy Eve is continuing this series and look forward to seeing what will happen next.
Highly recommend! While this one works as a standalone, beware that you'll likely want to go back to the start and read them all! (I recommend doing that as well!)
Lawrence Walker, Dean's (WHEN A TIGON WEDS) best-friend was a Liger shifter who found himself mated to a human. Oops he was in so much trouble, his mate, Charlotte didn't know about his inner animal. So he dedcided to tell her then showed her, she was not too impressed instead she asked him if he had all his shots.
Even though that was a bit insulting, he didn't let that stop him from trying to show her that they could have a great life together. Even if she didn't think that it was possible. Will she never met a persistent man like him before.
Charlotte, a human who found herself in Russia searching for her brother, Peter. The latter had been missing for some months, she tried everything but to no avail. She was ready to give up and go back to America when a gorgeous, sexy as sin stranger stepped into her life and changed it forever.
As they both found themselves in peril, Charlotte and Lawrence trusted each other long enough to escape their captors. As they spent more time together, they discovered many things about each other. Everything was going great until the calvary came in the form of his aunts, Leonard, Lacey and Lena.
When the trio found out what he'd done, well let's just say that they weren't too happy and neither was Charlotte. Who was reluctant to believe anything that came out of his mouth. Finally she came around and she fought for what they had.
It was a pleasure to catch up with/get mentions of previous characters and meet new ones. Love how very protective Lawrence's aunts were. The gift that Charlotte gave them was beautiful as well as the one that her mate gave her. The lovebirds found HOME.
WHEN A LIGER MATES is the 10th book in Eve Langlais' A LION'S PRIDE series. OMG what a phenomenal, fast-paced, humorous and exciting journey. Eve Langlais had me hooked from start to finish. She did a magnificently awesome job. 5 Golden Stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
This author is my absolute favorite and I really enjoy her writing style and the humor she injects into every single story. There were many things I really enjoyed about this book... the interesting storyline, the crazy aunts, the stealthy update in my favorite Lion King, and the interesting way the story ended. Things I did not like: Charlotte. She never grew on me. She started out rude, became a whiny brat, then switched back to rude again. POSSIBLE SPOILERS * * * * * * * * * * *
Charlotte was awful to Lawrence. She was super rude to begin with, whiny and useless during the kidnapping and escape, claimed he kidnapped her when he freakin rescued her, used him over and over again, made fun of Law’s pride and their customs, rejected him time and time again but still expected him to protect her. Up until at least 80% of the book, she still behaved this way. Then suddenly, everything was great. 🙄😒 ok. Rant over. To sum it up, I really loved the book but strongly disliked Charlotte. Lol.
What do you do when you find yourself kidnapped along with a gorgeous flirt. Unbeknownst to Charlotte, who is human, her fellow kidnapped guy, Lawrence, is a liger. Why would someone kidnap them? He is confident they will be found, but until then they have to escape. What happens next is so much fun and amusing that you will have to read it for yourself. Loved it!!!
I absolutely loved reading this one. Loved the characters and storyline so much. Lawrence and Charlotte were kidnapped and put through some tough times. She was mixed up in the mess her brother was in and she knew nothing of it all. They were a cute couple. She had the best surprise on her wedding day. On to my next story “Taming a Bear” 🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜😊😊😊😊
Loved this story! Lawrence was such a fantastic hero - typical arrogant lion with a heart of gold who loves and protects his own. The aunts were hysterical, and I would read an entire series about their antics! Charlotte was very relatable and likable. I loved the cabin scenes and them getting to know each other. I can't wait to read the next one and learn what's up with the key!
Couldn't put it down loved the characters and the storyline and can't wait to read more in this series so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone
Poor Roarie. Not only is he surrounded by alpha females, his little mate can hold her own against them. I absolutely enjoy this series. Eve is fantastic writer with a wicked sense of humor.
This is book 10 in the A Lion's Pride series. While it can be read as a stand-alone book, it is more enjoyable if you have read the previous book, When a Tigon Weds.
This is a terrific story with lots of humor and snark. I can count on Eve Langlais to deliver stories that I will enjoy reading.
The storyline is still to be continued but I somehow missed this book and ended up reading the next 2 books in this series before reading this one so, I already know what happens! LOL!

Lawrence really doesn't have patience, “eff the hotel. We’re staying here,” he said, bounding up the stairs to the second floor." I liked this book, I loved Lawrence.
3 stars I liked what there was, but these are getting shorter and shorter on actual story. Stuff used to actually happen, not just be one scene of the story
I don't know how I am going to make it when I get to the last book... These books have helped me make it through a bad time in my life. I do love your stories.
AUDIBLE Listened to in the audible box set Vol 3. A light and easy read with quirky humour. More fun and silliness though not as crazy as book 9. Entertaining with a good plot that kept me entertained. Charlotte was a funny and likable heroine. Strong and smart enough to stand up to all the shifter females when they give her grief. Lawrence just couldn’t believe Charlotte wasn’t impressed by his magnificence. In fact, she was quite dismissive.
I enjoyed this story very much. Just what I have come to expect from this author. Full of action and adventure. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
