Florence Harris thought if she ever fell in love it would be with someone sweet, dependable, boring.

Nope.

Turns out she likes arrogant, annoying, ego-so-big-it-wouldn't-fit-in-the-ocean Eli Lennox.

Just because he saved her life he thinks it gives him permission to meddle in it. He's determined to save her from herself.

Problem is she thinks she's beyond saving.

She's beautiful, intelligent, and the sexiest woman Eli had ever laid eyes on, and she turns him down flat when he asks her out.

That doesn't happen to him often.

Or ever.

And it makes him determined to prove to her she's worth every ounce of effort he's going to put into winning her heart.

Eli Lennox always gets what he wants.

I don’t know how she managed it because I am still reeling from it all but Jane Blythe sucked me into a story that surprised me, and I did not see coming. There were unexpected storyline turns that kept me on my toes from pretty much the very beginning till pretty much the end, all mixed with some emotional character growth and backstories that did not come with too many rainbows and gumdrops. Both Florence and Eli were strong characters that held their own in life and fit this story perfectly. Well done!

This is my first Cocky Hero novel, but I feel it will fit my reading style perfectly. After all, I am a huge fan of Jane Blythe and strong female protagonists.

Homicide detective Florence Harris is in a dumpster, looking for another body of more than a dozen found in the last eighteen months. What a way to start!

Florence had left the small town of River’s End to come to New York City. Definitely lots of action here, but she came up empty in this dumpster. The Dumpster Killer is escalating and she felt sure it would be here.

Eli Lennox is a real estate mogul who had grown tired of the ladies. Maybe he hadn’t met the right one, huh? He thought he’d finally found the right one and he is in hot pursuit.

Cocky men were Florence’s Krytonite…and Eli was verrrrrrry cocky. She went for boring, dull guys…they made her feel safe. I love a confident, not arrogant man…and stability. Don’t most of us ladies? Laughs and security? And a bit of the bad boy? Just to keep life interesting.

HE wasn’t afraid of being caught. Hard to be caught, if you are never seen…until Florence. That presents a problem for him. He doesn’t plan on being caught, but he loves killing and the more he kills, the more he craves the kill.

Eli is a wooer and I love him. My Mr Wonderful was a wooer too. Persistence, patience, and a great guy can wear down the resistance of the most prickly woman.

This Pretty Woman style romance….millionaire man and woman cop…WHEW. Steamy, hot romance with a couple of serial killers thrown in for good measure, because one is never enough. LOL

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Cocky Savior by Jane Blythe.

This book is one of the ones that had a lot of suspense in it. I like some suspense but normally not this much. However, this story pulled me in from the very first page. I loved it and kept reading until I finished. Florence is so close off from men that it took me a bit to warm up to her but once I did, I realized just what a very strong lady she is. Eli is perfect for her. I've heard of Jane Blythe but had not read any of her books but as good as this one was, I'll be looking for others to read from her. Great story with characters that sneak into your soul!!!

This was a fantastic addition to the Cocky World. As an avid reader of this author I knew she would out do herself, but this was next level, shocking even me.
No matter whether you are a new or old reader to this author, you'll be transfixed from cover to cover, and I can almost guarantee that it won't be your last book from her.
Definitely a must click.

Florence and Eli's push and pull really had me wrapped up in this story. Throw in a serial killer and you've got a bit of suspense there too.

I love how Jane Blythe seamlessly integrated her brand and writing into the Cocky World.

I really enjoyed this story! Another great title from Jane Blythe.

Not a fan

I didn’t really like this book. I found the story a bit rushed. Only but I enjoyed was the serial killer parts.
Only having dates and times I felt like it took me a while to figure out who’s POV that was coming from.

I don’t know what the other stories by this author is like but I couldn’t enjoy this one.

Eli is not used to women turning him down for dates. He's used to them tripping all over themselves to be with him in fact. So when this gorgeous woman (whom he saved no less!) rejects him, it only makes him more determined to get to know her.

The childhood Florence had made her determined to help people. Becoming a cop has fulfilled that dream, and it's made her all the more independent and unable to trust anyone, especially men, other than her older brother and her partner. So when the cocky, hot guy who saved her from being run over is persistent in asking her out, no matter how many times she turns him down, she wonders how long before Eli loses interest in her. She's just a regular person with a bad childhood, definitely not the kind of woman Eli's used to. So she needs to keep her guard up and her heart protected. Even after Eli wears her down and she agrees to a date. Then more...But when it comes down to it, it just may be her job, the job she loves, that is the biggest obstacle in their path. Will Eli let his fear of losing her to the danger of her job keep him from being with her? Or will he realize that it's better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all?

Cocky Savior is the kind of romance I like best - smart, sweet, strong and independent heroine who brings the cocky but equally sweet hero to his knees. Florence and Eli's story is sexy, fast-paced and does Vi and Penelope's Cocky Hero Club proud.

Great, romantic suspense.

”Cocky alphas were her kryptonite. They had the ability to make her body ignite, her mind flee, and her heart crack.”

Eli Lennox is a man who has everything. Everything except a family. He's jaded enough to know that he's finally ready for more than a quick fling. He never expected it to come in the form of a woman who is completely opposite to his usual tastes and, indeed, to himself. A woman whose life he saves. One look at her face and he’s captivated. The fact that she wants nothing to do with him, in spite of their very palpable chemistry, piques his interest even more and he knows that she’s the one for him.

”He knew one thing for certain. Florence Harris had inserted herself into his heart, and he had no wish to dislodge her.”

Detective Florence Harris is hot on the trail of a serial killer. She can’t afford a distraction in the form of the wealthy Eli. However, he’s annoyingly persistent and the harder he tries, the more he sneaks under her skin, until she finds herself giving in. But, for a man who has lost so much, can he live with the fact that she’s a cop?

”We belong together, Florence, and I don’t care if we’ve known each other for a minute or a decade.”

This story was a nice change of pace for me. I enjoyed the suspense side of the story, as well as the love story - it was a good mix of the two. This story was also pretty much almost insta-love/lust – things happened really quickly between the two characters but I thought it was pretty believably, as Florence really fought against it in the beginning. Eli, for all his wealth and cockiness, was a solid guy. He was most determined to have Florence in his life and he worked hard to win her over. Florence had been through some terrible things in her life and I loved how Eli felt so invested in her and wanted to give her the happiest of lives, even though he had fears of his own. Overall, a really good story with just the right amount of heat, danger and love in the mix.

A Heart stopping Psychological Thriller...

...that Author Jane Blythe seamlessly fitted into the world of the Cocky Heroes while keeping the integrity of her own writing intact. She did awesome.

As I read each book from Ms Blythe, my reaction is the same – heart stopping and blinding tension, and a temptation to let the family starve while I read her compelling psychological thriller. I swear to you, Ms Blythe loves the criminal mind and weaves together a plot reminiscent of Silent Witness or Broad-church. Both of these programs I love, and I love Ms Blythe’s books just as much.

Detective Florence Harris is typical of Ms Blythe’s heroines. Strong and independent with a past that would break many people. She’s in the middle of a serial killer investigation and Eli Lennox literally sweeps her off her feet, changing the course of both of their lives.

His hero complex and loving ways seem almost formulaic in this insta-love story, but when written inside an intense and thrilling plot, where Eli has been best friends with Graham Morgan from Stuck Up Suit since growing up as boys, it most certainly works. He is everything that is gorgeous and swoony.

He’s a playboy to the outside world, and has never wanted a woman to be a permanent part of his life until Flo. She also trusted him with her darkest and most vulnerable secrets. On the whole, this beautiful man oozed romance and alpha-maleness all while keeping a healthy respect for the independent woman he admired. I repeat, on the whole. We all know that the path of true love doesn’t run smoothly, and with pasts like these two have, and the plot within they are set, their greatest fears are realised. He reacts badly and gets more than a little over-protective leaving Florence with an impossible choice.

As I’ve already stated above, I love the writing from Author Jane Blythe, and recommend her to everyone who loves romance with a heavy hand of psych-suspense. One-click now. 5 Stars 💚

What a perfect addition to the world of cocky hero’s, Eli Lennox the hero in Cocky Savior is the perfect cocky hero who is used to getting what he wants and he has his sights on Florence Harris. Jane Blythe is a new author to me and once again I’m at a loss as to why she hasn’t crossed my radar before now.
Eli literally knocked Florence off her feet the first time they met and that’s all it took for this cocky hero to start meddling in Florence’s life but the last thing this policewoman needs is a meddling hero interfering in the case she is working on and she certainly isn’t looking for a relationship.....
This is a wonderful whodunnit mystery with wonderful characters and let’s not forget the cameo appearances of my favourite couple Graham and Soraya from Stuck up Suit. I fell hard and fast for Eli and I loved the journey he took me on as he tried to woo the woman who he had fallen hook, line and sinker for. A man used to getting what he wants finds himself having to work for what he wants and who better to get advice from than Graham Morgan. This book ticked all my boxes, I laughed, I sighed and I swooned in this live story that has just the perfect mix of love, humour and suspense. Looking forward to reading more from this very talented author. This gem is a must read !!!!

Cocky Savior by Jane Blythe is a thrilling suspense romance story about two people on the opposite sides of reality and the most unlikely couple to fall in love. But when you know you know. Jane has written a wonderful story that you cannot stop reading until you have finished the whole book. I love the way she weaves all the threads in this mysterious web.

Eli is a real estate tycoon who can have anyone he wants but settling down has been on his mind. He is cocky and full of himself, but he is loyal. When he saves a woman; he longs for more than he ever has before and being told no is a novelty. But when her life is threatened can and will he keep his promise to her.

Florence had escaped some horrible situations when she was younger and finds it very hard to trust. When she could have fallen down a hole, she made something of herself. Whilst following gut instinct to track down a serial killer she finds herself in a life or death situation before she is scooped into safety. She meets her cocky savior who shows her how to finally start living her life.

I fell in love with the characters and know you will too. I am looking forward to what comes next.

Florence Harris has a dark past that makes it hard for her to trust anyone, so she believed that when she was ready, she would find some boring dude to settle down with. She's a homicide detective because of that past, and a good one at that. It's when she's investigating her most recent case that she comes face to face with Eli Lennox, a man who actually saved her from being killed by car trying to take her out. He's fascinated with Florence, but she isn't down with it because she feels that they're not a good fit so when he asks her out, she turns him down flat. However, Eli is a one of those cocky heroes who is in it to win it, and he wants Florence. This is a great journey filled with heat, suspense (nothing safe about a homicide detective) with all kinds of twists, and even quite a bit of angst to be honest because of her past along with a kicker of humor to boot. So yeah, Jane Blythe penned the perfect story that checked off all my boxes & I didn't want it to end. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Florence is a Police Detective who doesn’t allow many people close due to her past. While investigating a lead to track down a serial killer she is about to become the victim of a hit and run until Eli comes to her rescue.

Eli is a wealthy businessman who was attracted to Florence before he came to her rescue but convincing her to go on a date with him is proving to be quite the challenge. As the chemistry escalates between them so does the danger as not only is their love threatened but their lives as well.

Intrigue that keeps you guessing, surprises you don’t see coming and two people who must overcome the emotional scars of their past if they are to have a future together.

This not only has amazing chemistry but some danger and suspense thrown in that had me on edge. I loved Eli and Florence. She is one sassy and strong woman who gives Eli a run for his money. They're actually perfect together. The story flows well and will captivate you. I basically had to read this without stopping I really couldn't stop until I was finished.

Eli knocked Florence off her feet the first time they met, and one look was all it took for him to start meddling in Florence life and her business! As a cop, Florence isn’t pleased with his interference in her current case and sparks fly between the two! Florence doesn’t’ want, or need a man in her life, but Eli takes one look and is smitten! Shame the billionaire is used to getting his own way, but now he must work for it!
Florence grew up in poverty, and Eli is out of her comfort zone! She doesn’t need to be swept off her feet this billionaire, who is clearly used to getting his own way, but Eli slowly gets under her skin and before too long there are cracks in her walls. Fortunately Eli's old friend and his wife are there to give hm sound advice and bring him a reality check in his pursuit of his love.

Florence is searching for a Serial killer, and having saved her life Eli is convinced he needs to keep on protecting her.

This is a good mystery, with clues gradually revealed. As ever Jane Blythe gives a voice to the unknown villain, and this adds another level to my enjoyment of her stores.

This is a great addition to Jane’s River End books. I loved it!

Cocky Savior

OMG! This is definitely a change of story from Jane's other books. This story is about Eli and Florence. You don't hear these names much anymore. The moral of this story is what Eli wants, Eli gets. Florence had a very rough life while Eli had a charmed life. Talk about opposites being attracted to each other - these two are as opposite as one can be but yet they seem to be perfect for each other. Glad Florence was able to get two serial killers off the street. What a fairytale ending. FANTASTIC job Jane! I would recommend this book!

Know what you want.

Eli and Florence. Over the top across the board, but also in a wonderful way. This story has not just one serial killer, but two. Not just one child abuse story, but two. Not just a romantic first date, but an over the top romantic first date and a hallmark picture perfect proposal. The story is colorful and full of action, crime solving, romance, family, and friends that are family.

Another well written book. This book was full of suspense, love at first site, and drama. Loved Eli and Florence, Eli saved Florence and it was love at first site for him, but Florence had trust issues. This book is a page-turner. Couldn't put down until finished. Highly recommend.

Not as steamy as I prefer, but what dropped it down to a 2-star for me was the whole drama/separation crap that happened towards the end. I read suspense romance to get away from that crap!

This story was not what I expected for the sexy cover (which I adored). Rather than a fun. sexy romp, these pages contained a gripping storyline and plot filled with danger, suspense and plenty of passion too. This was more along the lines of a crime/thriller with some heavy romance included, which certainly kept this read entertained from start to finish.

I absolutely loved this story, there was so much suspense and mystery it was terrific. I think this had everything a good book needs: engaging characters, a solid storyline that hooks you in straight away, fantastic descriptions, and a beautiful romance.

Florence was literally knocked off her feet by Eli the first time they met and that was all it took for this cocky businessman to pursue the reluctant policewoman.

The whodunnit mystery is without a doubt one if the best I have read, it gave snippets of information, and gradually you got to know the why and more of the how but not the who-brilliant. There are twists and turns that make things even more interesting and continue to keep you captivated in the storyline. A big part of this was through the amazing descriptions where you really could picture the scenes and characters plus share their feelings-well not the killer so much. 😁

This was not a story where you feel like you are riding an emotional roller coaster, however, instead, you do still feel the emotions with and for the characters, and yes, there were some dips and peaks but generally speaking it is a calmer ride. Phew!

Another wonderful story by this very talented author who continues to blow me away with her carefully crafted suspense plots.

Florence is hard at work. She has a mystery to solve and has taken us along. Eli is looking for something but will it be unattainable? If you’ve been following this series, you may end up finding a new author, one you’ve recently found, or getting reacquainted with one you’ve been following for a while.

This author is good at giving me what I want. I like a book that easily grabs my attention. I like having two characters that seem to be at opposite ends of the couple scale. Eli reminds me of Eddie Haskell. He may seem to grate on your nerves but slowly will worm his way into your heart. Florence seems to be a woman who is very focused on her job and doesn’t like any distractions that will stop her from her goal. Lastly, I like a book that makes it easy to forget about everything else but what I’m imagining as I read the story.

Loved the suspense aspect and part of that was due to the fact that our author gives an unknown character a voice. When starting the book the big question I had was “why?” and once you ask a question, you need to discover the answer. We also get to learn about who are main characters are. We get to see a romance build from the time these two meet until the point of conclusion for both the mystery and what happens in their relationship. There’s actually one more thing I like about this book. Our author uses it to introduce her readers to a new series. Your library just may expand a little.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Jane Blythe knows how to combine a brilliant romance story within a criminal mystery. Cocky Savior has real depth to the story that rivals a good episode of 'Criminal Minds'! The first book like this in the Cocky Hero's Club and a great addition.

Florences job was the most important thing in her life, she does have a brother but since she left their small town and moved to NY she hardly speak's to him. Florences life growing up was pretty horrendous and so she doesn't trust many people - happy to spend her life putting criminals behind bars. Florences new case 'The Dumpster Murders' is the worse one to date but she has started to figured the murderer. However, for Florence being in the wrong place at the wrong time nearly got her killed only the quick intervention by Eli saved her life.

From the moment rich and successful Eli saved the feisty Florence he knows she is the one for him but as he starts to get to know her Eli realises there are many layers to Florence and she is holding on to a deep hurt that stops her from moving forward. Florence knows that Eli has the ability to break her heart and crush her but is she is willing to take a chance and confide in Eli about her past or will that past come back and destroy her once and for all.

The story is constantly moving forward, the twist and turns are perfectly executed and the chemistry is of the charts

Just loved this book - Well Done Jane Blythe!

Cocky Savior was my first read from Jane Blythe, and she packed quite a bit into this story and it kept me wanting to read till the end!! Florence is a cop and Eli just so happens to be in the right place at the right time to save her from a potential deadly situation, and from that point on there is an immediate attraction on Eli's part. I think Florence felt the same, she is just extremely wary and doesn't easily trust. She had things pretty tough growing up...and that's putting it mildly, so trusting anyone is pretty difficult for her. She is a dedicated cop working on a major serial killer case, and she seems to be getting close to figuring out who the killer is...then there is also another case that is from way back when she was a little girl. Her plate is made that much fuller with Eli showing up in her life and helping her see that there are people you can trust, and not everyone leaves. Things get a little precarious, and Florence's life is potentially in danger again, and Eli can't handle her doing what she does and makes assumptions about what may happen if they take this relationship further...will Florence put her foot down and say no to what Eli is asking her to do, or will Eli realize that what he is asking is unrealistic and compromise? You'll have to read Cocky Savior to find out all the things!!
