Five mermicorn stars for this new installment in the Narwhal and Jelly series! I absolutely love this series and often recommend to kids who come into my library looking for a graphic novel. Narwhal and Jelly are delightful characters and their friendship is a wonderful example for kids. The puns and undersea facts sprinkled throughout greatly enhance the reader experience. So much fun for a wide range of ages.

Thank you to Penguin Random House and NetGalley for a DRC in exchange for an honest review.

This is utterly adorable and so "punny" :-) We hadn't read any of the other Narwhal and Jelly books and this worked just fine as a stand-alone, though we now want to read others in the series. So sweet and fun.

My 7yo is a big fan of Narwhal and Jelly, so this book was a no-brainer for one of our holiday reads this year. We both loved the fun takes on different holiday traditions, plus more cool facts about sea creatures! Yay for more Narwhal and Jelly!

I adore Narwhal & Jelly books, and I'm tickled that they now have a holiday book. The loveliest thing about the series is the gentle fun and humor tucked into simple stories that manage to capture a multiplicity of views among the denizens of the sea.
While Narwhal and Jelly are looking for the fabled Mermicorn, other creatures are celebrating the narwhalidays in different ways - going coral-ing, lighting the minnow- orah, and shooting off To sparkle for the winter solstice celebration,

As usual, puns abound, along with good tide-ings to you and your fin!

I was so excited for this book and we loved it. My daughter saw it on the library pile when I picked it up and was ready to devour it in the car on the way home, but I made her wait for me! We really loved this gentle story and took turns reading for the characters, and we liked the little story that Narwhal makes with Jelly towards the end, it was so silly.

In this book, Jelly is a little grumpy about the cold water of winter, and Narwhal is excited and full of optimism about the Merry Mermicorn, who sometimes brings gifts, and is part mermaid and part unicorn. Jelly is skeptical, but then he receives a mysterious present. Narwhal is always full of optimism and positivity and Jelly is, well, not, but I love how they are friends and help balance each other out to a half glass of water - not half full or half empty.

We adore this series, and I can’t wait for more of it. It is perfect for a young child and beginning reader to take turns reading (much like Elephant and Piggie), but my 7-year old, who is a strong reader, still really enjoyed it.

Oh my cuteness! I know I'm a grown up, but if being a grown up means I can't read Narwhal & Jelly books then I don't want to grow up!

Narwhal celebrates the holidays with Jelly & tells the tale of the mythical Mermicorn delivers gifts. Naturally, a mermicorn must be a mermaid unicorn, or is it a swimming corn on the cob?! Lol the illustrations are so great & silly!

Ben Clanton did it again!

We love the adorable duo of Narwhal and Jelly at our house! One of the best things about this series is the way it lends itself to being read by 2 voices. Any time we sit down to read a book from the series, my 7-year old daughter and I always choose who's going to read which part and then we laugh ourselves silly using our special voices to be the different characters. A great story, fun illustrations, and lots of potential to engage new readers!

As cute as the first one but not as good. The illustrations are my favorite part but the main story was also cute. I liked the way the author used sea terms in festive ways (like jingle shells instead of jingle bells).

I liked the Tis the Season and The Perfect Present sections best. Narwhal and Jelly are great characters but I also love Shark, Turtle, and Otty. While this is geared more toward children, I still really enjoyed it. A lovely graphic novel for the holidays.

3.5 stars!

My nephew loves these books, and I love reading them to him. He laughed so hard he had tears, then I couldn't stop laughing. The little comics in the middle are great as well as the larger story.
