My review today is on the Western Romance, Pioneer Devotion. This is book six in the series The O'rourke Family Montana Saga. Ramona has become one of my favorite authors. I was thrilled when I got this one to read and review. This is my own words. This story is well written, action packed and full of drama. I know you are going to love this one.

Maggie O'Rourke was separated from her father and her brothers at birth. Her father had been told that her and her mother died. Her mother married a man that said he would take care of them. After years of abuse the husband died and they were left with their brother-in-law, Jacques. A man even more abusive. He wanted Maggie and planned to take her. Now they had found their true family and life is going well. She is in love with a stagecoach driver. Her family still fears Jacques.

Philip Dunmore is a stagecoach driver. He has been in love with Maggie since the first day they met but he is much older than she is so he waits. Now she is old enough to marry but her father caught them in an embrace. He made Dunmore swear he would wait another year for her. Now he is regretting that promise. Then he is injured. Maggie is kidnapped.

A terrifying journey as everything comes to keep these two hearts apart. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a plan for peace and not for destruction. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life even in a time of chaos.

This O'Rourke Family once again faces danger as Maggie has to deal with the demons of the past. Through it all, the faithful Philip Dunmore is unwavering in his love for her. I found this novel sad in that Maggie had so much to deal with, both past and present. However, the O'Rourkes are an entity that surround and support their own. This novel is well written and suspenseful, dealing with the fall-out after physical abuse, and for some, it may act as a trigger. I found the story emotional and was glad that is came to a successful conclusion. I received a copy of this novel as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Pioneer Devotion is a story of love, a love so strong it survives age, separation, sickness, and health.

Maggie had not had an easy life: separated from her father at birth, she was raised by her mother and stepfather until his death. Upon his death, her step-uncle moved into his brothers home but his feelings for Maggie were anything but pure. She and her mother are finally reunited with her father (horrid misunderstanding led to them being separated) in the first book of this series. Dunmore has also not had an easy life but f finally found a home with O'Rourke family. From the first book of the series, the reader watches the love of these two grow. This book begins when Maggie's father demands Dunmore step back and allow him one more year with his daughter. This one act spirals down a path that leads to pain, injury, kidnapping, and ultimately the healing power of love.

Ramona Flightner writes stories with heart, family, love, and imperfect people who face extraordinary odds to find their happily ever after. Her characters are loyal to one another and create family out of blood, friendship, and ultimately love. Her stories are so passionate but close the door to all the bedroom scenes. Ramona's books run in series (I've read both this series and Bear Grass Springs) but you don't need to read previous books to fully appreciate and immerse yourself into the books later in the series (like Pioneer Devotion). I fully believe that you will enjoy every book Ramona has written and I recommend each one. I absolutely LOVED PIONEER DEVOTION and will be adding it to my read again list.

I received an ARC of this book and am volunteering an honest review.

The author has penned a very gripping story of hard times, heartache, sadness, grief, deception, a kidnapping, an accident, evil, lies, abuse and romance. This is Maggie O'Rourke and Philip Dunsmore's story, and the character development for each is outstanding. When Maggie's father requests that Philip Dunsmore wait a year before claiming his daughter, he is to inform Maggie of this but fails to do so and Maggie suffers a sense of loss and self-doubt because she thinks Dunsmore does not love her. In the meantime, the not so nice Jacques returns to Fort Benton and becomes a real thorn in the flesh even to the point of kidnapping Maggie. Will Maggie be able to escape Jacques abuse? Will she and Dunsmore find their way to each other and find their HEA? Be sure and read this real page turner to find out. I know you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Maggie and Dunmore 💞

Wow! What a riveting story! I could not put this down!

Philip Dunmore has secretly loved Maggie since the first time he laid eyes on her three years ago. He never felt worthy of her, due to his job. P,us, the age difference.

Maggie always thought of Dunmore as merely a family friend, but over time, she grew fonder of him. Unfortunately, an evil man from her past is still hunting her.

Will Dunmore be able to protect his sweet Maggie from the wicked Jacques?

This book was truly an emotional roller coaster! The only part that bothers me is the frequent use of the Lord’s Name in vain. Other than that, if possible, I would give all these books 10 stars ⭐️❤️

It’s just one tragedy after another!
This family has really suffered so much heartache as manifested in this book. One tragedy after another. A lot of pain and suffering. It was very depressing. I almost didn’t finish it. I had to put it aside for awhile but I needed to continue in order to see what happens to poor Maggie. Her nemesis, Jacques, captures her and she lives a true to life nightmare. Bravely she fights him off. Her one true love, Dunmore, lives a nightmare of his own. Each of them suffers greatly. It’s amazing how they bravely conquer their trials and find their way through to one another. A very satisfying HEA concludes this book thank goodness.

Maggie has been in love with Dunmore for a long time. Her Father asks that Dunmore wait 1 year before persuing Maggie. AS Dunmore honors this request Maggie senses a coldness in Dunmore she doesn't understand. When Maggie is kidnapped and severely tortured by Jacques Bergeron who wants Maggie for himself she is severely tramatized. She somehow manages to escape and is returned to her family, but will Dunmore find a way to comvince Maggie she is safe with him and he will never harm her? This is another wonderful story in the O'Rourke family saga by Ramona Flighter, A fabulous story teller.

I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Maggie O’Rourke has finally felt the love of Philip Dunmore but what happens when he draws away from her? She doesn’t know that her father had ask Dunmore to wait a year. Unfortunately her father was to tell her about the arrangement but failed to do so, devastating Maggie. So much happens in this story. There is an accident and Dunmore is missing. Jacques has returned and has kidnapped her. Will she survive the abuse Jacques welds on her and will she ever be the same is she manages to escape? Will Dunmore be able to show her his love and devotion to her?

Closer to 3.5 stars
This is a depressing book with lots of pain and suffering, not an easy read. It took me a lot longer than it usually does to read a book of this length, my anxiety was way over the top, reading about the
characters and all the trials they went through.
Trust is a big part of this story with Maggie, her dad, Dunmore and Jacques, not easily earned.
I for 1 would like to give Nora a medal!!

Maggie O’Rourke felt love from Philip Dunmore until he abruptly withdraws, not knowing her father made him promise to wait a year for her. Accidents, kidnapping, abuse . . . so much pain and heartache. This family has struggled a lot. If she knew of Dunmore's love she could bear it, but will it ever be hers?

Loved it!

I am so happy to finally read Dunmore and Maggie’s story. Though I did wonder what the author was up to when she kept them apart. This story keeps you interested and turning the pages until you get to the end. Even then you still want more. I loved this story. I have been hoping these two would get together. I would recommend this book to all.
