Biegun Północny jest jednak bardzo daleko, a mopsik gubi się w śnieżycy, zanim zdąży wyjechać z miasta. Czy uda jej się przywrócić rodzinie utraconego ducha Bożego Narodzenia?

We thoroughly enjoyed The Pug who wanted to be a Unicorn last year and whilst we also enjoyed The Llama who wanted to be a Bridesmaid it is lovely to return to the warmth and joy of Peggy the Pug who will do anything for her beloved Forever family who (spoiler!) adopted her last Christmas.
In this book Peggy is sad that her family seems to have lost their happy, mum worried about her new café failing to take off, Chloe feeling displaced by a new friend, Ruby is scared of her Nursery Teacher and Finn has fallen out with his best friend, dad is flustered and Peggy is determined to save the day.
If your child enjoys Holly Webb Animal Stories adding a little Christmas community spirit of Anne Booth’s Lucy tales but with an animal protagonist you get the lovely Peggy, and delighted to know there’s an Easter edition in the works too.

This is a simple short chapter book that I read with a Year 1 class in the run up to Christmas. It is about the adventures of a pet dog in trying to help her family get their lost Christmas spirit back. The occasional simple line drawings are helpful to support engagement and I found them particularly useful to support understanding for children who are learning English as an additional language. It doesn’t have great literary merit, but is a fun read. To avoid confusion please be aware that the Santa fun run in the story doesn’t feature the real Santa, just people dressed up like him for fun.

Bogen handler om den lille nuttede mops Peggy, hvis familie er trist og har det svært - og det kan man jo ikke have, når der er to uger til Juleaften! Så Peggy bestemmer sig for, at hun vil gøre dem i julehumør, og hvilken bedre måde er der, end ved at blive et rensdyr? Desværre viser det sig at være rimelig svært sådan lige at gå fra et være en lille mops til et stor rensdyr, så hun beslutter sig for at lede efter Julemanden. Hvis der er nogen, som kender til juleglæde, så må det jo være den gamle mand i det røde tøj 🎅🏻. ⁠

I MOPSEN, DER VILLE VÆRE ET RENSDYR bliver læseren præsenteret for en sød og hjertevarm historie om en lille hund, der ønsker at hjælpe sin familie. Og selvom det ikke altid er lige nemt, gør hun sit bedste. Sammen med forskellige dyr og mennesker lykkedes det Peggy at få hendes familie til at indse meningen med Julen og få en god tid. ⁠

Historien er rørende på en jordbunden måde og med kære illustrationer. Så hvis du er parat til et juleeventyr, er denne bog perfekt til at få dig i julestemning 🎄🎄🎄⁠

Nový rok začínam knižne veľmi pozvoľna, a to detskou literatúrou (a ani moje ďalšie knihy nie sú práve Stručná teória času, veď uvidíte 😁).

Moje prvé čítanie teda bolo opäť o mopslíčke Peggy, ktorá sa tentokrát chcela stať vianočným sobom, aby potešila svoju kamarátku Chloe 🫎.

Druhá kniha série sa mi páčila o trošku menej, no stále hovoríme o knižočke pre 7 ročné deti, ktorú som ja čítala v 29 rokoch 🤭. Celkovo som z nej ale mala veľmi dobrý pocit, bolo to milučké, rýchle, útulné, krásne ilustrované a na vianočné obdobie pre deti priam ideálne!

I thought it was great because it was about a pug who wanted to be a reindeer to help its family. I like it when characters want to help their families. I like dog books. I felt like it was easy to read. That's all.

Podobnie, jak w poprzednich książkach z tej serii, i tutaj autorka porusza ważną kwestię - trzeba być sobą! Udawanie lub naśladowanie kogoś sprawia, że spychamy na dalszy plan samych siebie. Podoba mi się właśnie to przesłanie. Nauka akceptacji od najmłodszych lat, jest bardzo ważna. 🫎🎄🎅🏼
