This paranormal novel unravels a haunting legacy tied to a mysterious inheritance. A shadowed fantasy centering on ‘Crossroads,’ a house inherited by Charlotte Sunday—a house steeped in themes of romance, betrayal, suspense, and justice. Within these ancient walls lingers Emmaline Varcoe, who died under shadowy circumstances generations ago, whose life and death are engraved into the house’s character. Emmaline’s voice, a whisper from the past, pleads for Charlotte’s aid, seeking truths to grant her soul its long-denied justice and rest. Charlotte embarks on a quest to uncover the truth about Emmaline's untimely demise, but secrets conspire to bind her to Emmaline’s riddles, unveiling truths that link her destiny with Crossroad’s haunted legacy. Meanwhile, Tom Greene, a sinister figure claiming his own stake in the property, sets the stage for conflict, masquerading himself as the rightful heir through a distant lineage. In uncovering Emmaline’s tale, Charlotte unearths fragments of herself she had not ventured to confront. Secrets unravel while tensions mount. Those fragments transform Charlotte, forever.

I would recommend this book to anyone who has a liking for history and genealogy, anyone who feels a connection to the past, anyone who has felt the presence of long ago “essences.” Crossroads is a good mystery with a feeling of walking through time. I took a break from my real life so I too could help look for Emmaline. That’s what a good story should do, stop the day to day and transport you to another time and place. I enjoyed reading Crossroads. It was fun and thought provoking. Give it a try. You’ll be glad you did!
