It won't take you long to fall in love with Claire and James. They are so perfect for each other and their chemistry is explosive. Insta attraction despite the twenty + age difference. The minute he saw her he knew she had to be his. Not knowing that she was the daughter of his former business partner and former best friend. She was so grown up and curvy that he didn't recognize her at first. It's an office romance with the boss and gets quite steamy at times. The book is a really cute, easy to read book that's guaranteed to set your Kindle on fire. I received a free book via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.

Barbi Cox has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Claire and James. Claire has just had a fight with her father, Jeff over her spending money. He has just told her that she will need to move out and get a job since he is no longer going to be paying for things for her. She gets a job as a personal assistant for James. James is an ex-friend of her father's. Something happened and they are no longer friends. Claire has had a thing for James for a while and now she is going to be working for him as his personal assistant. Things heat up between Claire and James. He has her go to an event with him and pretend that she is his fiancee. Once at the event, he lets everyone know that they are engaged. Claire and James have a talk and he tells her to go mingle when he sees a woman and when she catches his eye she walks towards him. When James sees her, he walks towards her and gives her a smile. Claire walks towards James and thinks that when she gets to him he will introduce her as his fiancee like he has done all night. But she is wrong. When the woman sees Claire, she said "Who let the child in. We were clear no one under the age of twenty-one." James tells her that Claire is his guest and leaves it at that. The woman is Genevieve and she runs her hand down his back and James allows it and walks away with her. Claire thinks that James has paid her to pretend to be his fiancee and now acts like he just doesn't care. She goes and finds herself a corner and a man comes up and starts talking to her. She thinks I might be mad but I can still be polite. They are laughing and walking around like a couple that Claire and James are supposed to be. Genevieve said to Jame that they should have one night of passion and he tells her that he is engaged. She wants to know "To whom?" James tells her My gest, Claire." Genevieve looks back at where Claire is and said "It looks like it will be a short engagement. When James gets to Claire, she tells him she wants to leave and she is not happy. James says something to the man and Claire said to James, "You don't always get what you want." He wants to know what she means. She tells him that all night he claimed her as his fiancee but as soon as that woman showed up, she was just his guest. He tells her that he had to play nice to Genevieve since she is one of his investors. He tells her that he told Genevieve that they were engaged as soon as she made a play for him. Claire said, "Yeah, I'm such an easy out for you." James tells her that that is not how he meant it and that he knows she can feel how he feels about her. She said she didn't know how he felt and he could have the ring back because she didn't want to play fake fiancee anymore.
Can Claire and James work out things between them?
This was a wonderful story and I would recommend it to anyone.

Claire comes from an overly wealthy family that, broke up for reasons she knows, but not all the details. A detail she will never forget is, seeing her father's best friend stepping out of the shower with, of course, nothing on. She instantly, is in lust with, James. But, for some unknown reason her father, and James have a major falling out. This happens on the heels of her mother, as well as, James divorcing his wife, and then her mom divorcing her father.

10 percent in. Barely made it. Real dumb entitled shallow petty bs i dont expect a lot from what is essential trash romance books but the heroine should be somewhat likeable im hardly going to enjoy the book if her enemy of a father has a daughter just as shit as he is. I mean i hope they both get karma but im suppose to root for this chick to not only find "love" with her dads ex best friend but also just jump from her dads money when it stops to the easiest next source of money to keep her in her spoiled shitty ways? Like yeah hard pass.
She couldve easily wasted money to "get back at her father" which is stupid as shit to begin with but if she was going to she could at least make donations to charities or you know use it for good not luxury shopping sprees with her friends and going to a man whore massage spa and post dumb spoiled hoe instagram pics and talk about how she cant help being in tabloids cause shes more interesting than the news and like ive never actually wanted a fictional character let alone one in a trash novel to be hot by a fictional car and get hit by reality or something so hard before but here we are and id rather miss out on possibly a good trash smut guy lead (although i doubt it if hes into her) than have to read a single sentence more of this literal loo paper book.

James lost a "friend" of many years meanwhile, reconnecting to his daughter. Claire has scandalized about James for years never thinking anything would or could come of it. But Farr intervened and not only did they meet again James became her boss.
This story has me on the edge of my seat attempting to guess him recognizing her. If she'd get the job, would Her father ever help her again, etc. Yrs, please read short but ends with HEA no cliffhanger.

When Claire's father cuts her off because he doesn't feel she growing up. She has to get a job an ends up apply for a job that has her at her father friend's company. he didn't know that when she applied but when James didn't recognize her she went on with the interview. James had a feeling he knew the woman before him but didn't know that it was his former friends little girl. James needed an assistant that not only helped him at work but would be able to go to functions and pretend to be with him to hold off unwanted advances. Things heat up between them at one of the events and its not long before he learns who shr really is. Will itchange things between them?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Wow! I so did not want this book to end! This is a steamy, insta-love book about twenty-one year old Claire and her attraction to her dad's former best friend, James. Back when Claire was younger she happened upon James just out of the shower at her house wrapping a towel around his waist, ever since she hasn't been able to forget him. Shortly after that James and her father stopped being friends. Fast forward a few years and Claire's dad has become fed up with her and her actions and has decided to cut her off and out forcing her to find a place to live and a job. While interviewing for an assistant position by an underling, the big boss walks in and much to Claire's surprise it is James, her dad's ex-friend. James doesn't recognize her and all he knows is that she is very desirable and will fit his needs perfectly and so their working relationship begins. Their romantic relationship takes off after they attend a showing as an engaged couple. I enjoyed the book the way it is, but oh how I would love to have a longer version.

This is not the first publication I have ever read by Ms. Barbara Cox, however, it's definitely in my favorite top three releases; to date.

Loved reading this book by Barbi cox.
Highly enjoyable and entertaining and read in a hour.
Claire is a spoiled young woman and her dad has had enough and he stops all her allowance and she has to get a job.
She gets a interview and then James see her in the conference room and takes over the interview.
There is chemistry between the two of them straight away even though there is a age gap between them but Claire has been infatuated with him but James doesn’t know that he has hired his ex friends daughter.
The story is well written and the characters are great and there is is also humour and some steamy scenes in the book.
I really enjoyed reading this book and I really do recommend reading it.
I hope their is a next book in the series.

He highers Claire to be his PA. James did not recognize Claire as his ex-best friend and partner. He is just captivated by Claire. Claire knows how James is as she had a crush on him since he was 15. Claire does not tell James who she is. While at a Gala things have be revealed. Can James get past the fact that Claire didn't tell him who she was? Will he keep Claire or push her away?

An older man and a younger woman, he used to be her father's best friend, he is her boss, but the chemistry between them is off the charts, taboo? Claire is a spoiled, rich girl, that is going to be cut off financially by her father, now that she has graduated from college. James is a wealthy, older man, that is also her boss. I was really enjoying this book, until it just ended. I could not believe it. It felt unfinished. There were lots of unanswered questions. I debated hard between 3 stars or 4 stars, because of the end of the book, but I went with the 4 stars, because it was really good, before it just ended.

This book is fantastic! A wonderful hot and steamy story that was a pleasure to read! Claire has finished college and is forced to find a job when her father cuts her off after a big day of spending. This job will bring her into the presence of a high school crush - her dad's friend James. James is stricken by the beautiful woman interviewing to be his assistant and decides he has to hire her. A night at a gala will bring him the truth as he will finally realize why Claire looks so familiar. The night will end with them in each other's arms, not caring about the past or what others will think.

James hasn't figured out that she is the daughter of his ex-friend. Claire has always had a thing for James. James is attracted to grownup Claire. Part of Claire's job duties are to attend functions as James' date. Their first function is a test that they both fail in a good way. This was a quick fun read.

This was my first book from Ms. Barbi and I can't wait to read more from her. This was a very steamy book. James and Claire are scorching hot together. I really enjoyed James' alpha possessive attitude and Claire's determined yet sassy attitude. I thought James was perfect for Claire and vis versa. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it.

This was a totally steamy hot romance! Claire cracks me up as she is so sassy and not afraid to be a bit bratty. James actually reacts pretty well considering but that mouth of his does say some pretty dirty things! Their chemistry together is sizzling and this was a pretty fun read. It does end on a HFN so I was wondering if there would be another story about them in the future!

Claimed by Him is a full-length standalone novel with no cheating or cliffhanger and complete with a happily-ever-after. A brilliantly written story with extraordinary characters and a fascinating storyline that captures your attention from the first chapter and keeps you hooked and invested and turning the pages until the end. A fast paced, quick read novella. I won this book in a giveaway. THANK GOODNESS!!! This was not good. The female lead was whiney, privileged, and out of touch. The book as a whole was out of touch. A lead demanding a 7K more per month for their salary as an assistant while in the job interview?!?!? That's not plausible enough to overlook. The book is full of these types of scenes and scenarios. The author doesn't do a strong enough job of setting the scene and getting you pulled into it so you can overlook the possibility of what's happening. There is no attempt at character development, scenes are explained rather than show what's happening. Regardless of what I read, I like stronger writing than what found here. If you can overlook the book's weaknesses, it presumably has what you're looking for otherwise. I wasn't able to finish it.

Claire is the typical little rich girl - graduated from college and off spending dad's money with her friends. But dad has had enough, he cuts her off and forces her to get a job. Which she does - with her dad's ex-best friend. James needs a new PA and Claire just happens to be in the right place at the right time. One of the first outings she goes to with him she has to pretend to be his fiancee. I don't feel the author gave enough time to the story. There was so much she could have done - so much more time she could have spent building the relationship between James and Claire - so much she could have put into the emotional and sexual side of the relationship. There just wasn't the depth there that I expected.

January 16, 2021Claire is rich and now cut off by her father. So she gets a job and is hired by her dad's best friend. Since they will be going to events together. He does not recognizer her but hires her and they start the business relationship that moves into other territory. James is strong and can hold his own with Claire, and Claire was a spoiled pampered young woman. I love younger women older men stories. This one was great I enjoyed this one. The characters were great and the way they interacted and played off each other was totally enjoyable. I loved it.

Claire has been cut off when her father Jeff Donovan decides that she is spending too much money and is forced to look for a job. James is Jeff's former best friend and doesn't realize who Claire is when he hires her to be his PA. The attraction is undeniable but what will he do when he realizes who she is?
This book seemed unfinished to me. The characters were well developed. The story was interesting but just as I was getting into it it was over. I did enjoy what I read but I was left unfulfilled.
