Good vibes!!

I’ve read a handful of poetry books this year and I’m a fan. Poetry gives a glimpse into the writer’s world through powerful imagery and thoughtful wordsmithing. Ananda delivers on all levels. It is a well-curated collection of thirty-nine poems that highlight Love’s pension for profound lyrical prose and deep emotional exploration. While there is something for everyone, I especially enjoyed Good Morning, Gratitude, and Shifting. This book goes well with a hot cup of coffee, a beautiful view, and a couple of hours to lose yourself. I highly recommend this treasure.

A timely—yet timeless—poetry collection that is so resonant, so necessary, especially now.

A book to reread, study, and memorize, ANANDA is a prismatic sanctuary for your soul. As always, author Lali A. Love is masterful in her lyrical prose and literary rhythm. Her ingenious brand of science and spirituality shines in her newest work as she grounds, centers, and unifies humanity’s heartstrings in an invocation of universal awakening.

Love inspires self-validation, self-empowerment, and self-mastery in an anthology that acts as a spa for your spirit. Her poetry connects and aligns across both space and time—across all borders, from history’s echoes to modern reflections—and advocates healing one’s past to unlock one’s future.

With an emphasis on existential embrace and emotional emancipation, Love’s poetry will help you overcome mental static with intuitive wisdom and internal harmony to uncover the best version of yourself. By finding power through calm and strength through peace, she enables your personal revival with a liberation of self, an instillation of confidence, and an erasure of insecurities. Reading ANANDA is transcendent, an inhalation of life, that will balance and stabilize your heart and soul.

I have come a bit later to this newly released book of thirty-eight poems from Lali A Love about the spiritual world and have read the reviews already written. I agree wholeheartedly with them. I don't think that I can write a better review.

As beings we have dual existence. We live physically as flesh and blood: we also exist as a soul which lives just behind the pineal gland in our brain. Just as our physical body needs food our spirit needs nourishment also. This books provides some wonderful sustenance, reminding and teaching us of our own spirituality, our qualities and how to grow them; love, creating good karma, positivity, light thoughts, change, self love, gratitude, humility. Each poem provides a meditation that centres on aspects of spiritual life.

I think that it is impossible to just read the poems once, they can be kept to refer to when you feel low or need spiritual guidance and confirmation. They are not to be read in one go but dipped into throughout your life. It is the sort of writing you can go back to years later and find new things.

I didn't know the word “Ananda” so researched it. Ananda in sanskrit mean bliss and happiness, signifying reaching nirvana and escaping the reincarnation birth/death recycle. Ananda was also the cousin of the Buddha, who persuaded him to allow women to become buddhist monks. He was called Ananda because he was born on the day that the Buddha achieved nirvana.

Below each poem is a short extract from an established spiritual writer such as Rumi, Ray, Chopra, the Buddha as a sort of qualifier and strengthener. The cover pictures the soul as a burning flame, and established truth, but in contrast the text for the cover is in a very modern font, san-serif, almost like it comes from a computer. I liked these two concepts in juxtaposition, the new growing on, giving new life and developing from the established old. This symbolises the spiritual life as something relevant and vital in the modern world, something that we all need right now.

Lali A Love must be congratulated on writing such a wonderful collection of poems. She has done a very good job in portraying spirituality through physical words. I imagine myself picking up one of the poems, holding it to the air in my hand and squeezing it. I watch a cloud of starlight and colourful sparkle fly out and trail into the sky.

When I was asked to review this book I wasn't sure what to expect. Color me shocked when it seemed like every poem was speaking to me in some way. I've been redefining myself, my thoughts and how I process. The poetry in this book reflects all that I'm feeling and going through. How absolutely perfect.

"The ego paints with contrite limitations Using a prescribed method on imprinted canvas, Repeating the cycles of monotonous, self-defeating patterns."

"She has wisdom from life experiences, and is astute beyond her years. She has a heart as vast as the ocean, with strength and resilience to face her fears."

I appreciate the publisher and @blackthorntours for providing this E-Book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone.

I only read a handful of poetry books every year, and I'm glad that I made "Ananda" one of my choices for 2021. In these troubled times, several of the poems in this collection seem to be directly addressing a healing of the soul in the midst of chaos. The pieces are both touching and powerful, filled with deep emotion and imagery. I enjoyed the inspirational quotes included, as they felt like personal messages or affirmations. This would make a wonderful book to accompany meditation as the theme of self-empowerment is strong. I would definitely recommend "Ananda" to anyone seeking some encouragement or a bit of spiritual healing.

Ananda Poetry for the Soul - and it most certainly is.

Having read and enjoyed Lali A. Love’s 'The Joy of I.T.' I could not wait for this next volume to be released. I was not disappointed, these are wonderfully crafted, soothing, rhythmic verses.

I feel this collection of poetry picks up where 'The Joy of I.T.' left off and takes the spirit within those poems into different realms. The poems in this collection will be more relatable for some I think, as there are more earthy tones in 'Ananda Poetry for the Soul' that while still delivering the poet’s messages, they are conveyed in a more ‘down to earth' manner. Not an easy balance to strike, in my view. That said all the poetry retains the characteristics we have come to expect and admire from Lali A. Love’s work.

My particular favourite/s - Shifting struck a chord with me, as did the Bliss Within.

Award-winning writer Lali A. Love, who typically writes “visionary fantasy and metaphysical thrillers,” has written an engaging and soul-provoking collection of poems on a number of spiritual and metaphysical themes, each of which is accompanied by a quote from a well-known writer, philosopher, thinker, or spiritualist. In addition to her writing, Love is an “intuitive, alchemist, and energy healer.”
First, the title. Ananda is a Sanskrit word for “extreme happiness” or, as comparative mythologist Joseph Campbell defined it, “bliss.” He was known for promoting the idea of “Follow your bliss,” or Sat chit ananda.
The quotes that open the collection and accompany each poem are far-ranging, coming from the likes of Albert Einstein, Edgar Allen Poe, Carl Jung, Rumi, Swami Vivekanada, Marie Curie, and Joe Dispenza.
The poems themselves are equally far-ranging. The first, “The Rise,” explores other dimensions and magical realms. The next poem, “Loving Fearlessly,” evokes archetypes with its line, “Healing your childhood wounds.”
Advice for how to do so comes in a later poem, “Metamorphosis,” which opens:
I AM star dust plucked from the Cosmos,
Consciously transforming the realms of my bounds.
As I illuminate my divinity to heal old wounds,

For those who desire some science—specifically quantum physics—in their spirituality (as I do), Love tells us, in a poem called “Currency of Life,” to “Be mindful of the electrons circling your quantum field,/For every action has an equal and opposite impact to yield.” Moving to neuroscience in “The Subconscious Mind,” she writes, “Fear Everything and Run, says the mind./A recording that plays a continuous loop over time.” Once those old loops are replaced with healthier thoughts, one can move to “Manifestation”:
Let’s untangle the web of old conditioning,
Deconstructing the waves of patterns,
belief systems decommissioning.

She returns to neuroscience later, in the poem “An Intelligent Machine,” referring to the brain.
As we reach the halfway point, Love begins to incorporate more complex and multilayered spiritual ideas and practices. In “Dimensions of the Heart” she breaks down perceptions in 3D, 4D, and 5D space.
One cannot progress on the path of spirituality without the heart and imagination of an artist, which Love covers next:
Once you awaken your inner artist from this illusion
Realize that your Soul is complete and iridescent,
Brilliantly gleaming with immaculate perfection.
She also covers synchronicity, providing an elegant definition to a complex and misunderstood phenomenon: “Gifting us signs from a cosmic place.”
It is increasingly understood that being conscious of synchronicity in our lives is a key early step on the path to Spirit and Bliss. Following this thread, Love offers a pair of poems titled “Conscious Co-Creation” and “Echo” about the art of aligning our vibration with that of the Universe.
The last third of Ananda is a series of poems defining and exploring the seven chakras, or major energy centers of the body, which include the solar plexus, heart, throat, and the pineal gland or third eye (or, in Sanskrit, ajna). Color, location, and characteristics are all evoked.
I want to end this review by pointing out that Love has been a member of the Twitter Writing Community (TWC) since April 2019, coinciding, it seems, with the publication of her first novel. I have been very engaged with the TWC since November of that year and agree with her assessment that it is a nurturing and inspiring way to connect with fellow writers (as well as publishers, agents, graphic designers, editors, cover illustrators, and others linked to the business of publishing). It is good to see TWC writers including their experiences with this community in their published works and I encourage writers at all levels to join with and explore the benefits of the TWC.

I received an Advance Reader Copy of Ananda: Poetry of the Soul by Lali A. Love through Reedsy Discovery. I was drawn to this book first because I thought it was a book of poetry called Amanda, my name! But second, once I read the synopsis and realised that it was metaphysical and esoteric poetry, I realised how incredible it would hopefully be. You can read my original review here: https://reedsy.com/discovery/book/ana...

And it was.

This poetry is beautiful and spoke to my soul. As someone deeply invested in her own soul's journey, I connected with Lali A. Love's poetry deeply. As I was reading her words, my heart bloomed and I felt seen and inspired more than I ever have before reading poetry.

I particularly loved the poem entitled "Gratitude." I've been much more intentional about my own gratitude practise the last couple of years, and this poem was magic, speaking the exact words my soul sings every time I'm thankful.

I also enjoyed the chakra series of poems and thought this was such a beautiful introduction to what each of these energetic portals symbolises.

I feel blessed to have the opportunity to read and review Ananda. It was a beautiful and perfect read to end 2020 and bring more hope and joy looking into the new year.

I would love to quote just two short passages from Ananda that stood out for me:

"We are magnificent Souls created by flames,
Masquerading as people with human names."

and

"Love's request is simple,
Love asks us to merely embrace
Ourselves exactly as we are,
Surrender, trust, there is a higher intelligence
We are aspects of the One Source
Known as truth and love."

I thank Lali for sharing her soul and this Universal wisdom with the world. Lali clearly has a strong connection with the infinite Source and is using her gift to bring insight to those ready to hear it. Grateful for this.

I would recommend Ananda to anyone interested in learning more about spirituality or who is already interested in esoteric and metaphysical study. Ananda, while being beautiful poetry, provides some insight into many divine workings that will inspire and help you learn more about spiritual practices.

Ananda: Poetry for the Soul is an eloquent reminder of our inextricable ties to each other - particularly meaningful at a time when so much discourse is divisive.
Lali A. Love's impactful poetry, complimented by equally-inspiring quotes, is a must-read for anyone seeking a calming reset.
I usually read quite quickly, but each poem and corresponding quote prompted me to pause after reading it, to reflect on the messages within. It was a beautifully meditative experience, one that I ardently recommend.

I love reading poetry. It speaks to my soul and Lali A. Love’s book didn’t disappoint. Her poems are very healing. I loved all of them but the ones that spoke to me the most were Currency of Life, Metamorphosis, First Love Yourself (Fly), Shifting, Love in Action and Surrender. The last one, Surrender, spoke to me the most. It was like it was written especially for me and how I’ve been feeling. Wow! I’m so glad I bought this book. It certainly is a good read if you love poetry and are into metaphysics and healing.

A book of positive, mind expanding poems. Lali A. Love introduces the reader to Karma and Cosmic Unity through her heartfelt words.

Each poem is followed by a related quote, that gives the reader more insight to the author’s poems. Connection, and the power of a human soul, is a common theme throughout the book.

I would recommend this book to anyone searching for light and hope in these stressful times.

Ananda: Poetry for the Soul by Lali A. Love is more than just a book of poetry—it’s a journey into one’s own soul. Reading this deeply spiritual work was an incredibly uplifting and thought-provoking experience. Filled with well-crafted poems that promote introspection and healing, this work prompts us to rise above the stress, presumptions, and expectations this world so often weighs us down with and welcome love into our hearts. The empowering message Ananda delivers through the expert use of poetry and quotes truly helped me reconnect with myself and the universe around me, and I feel it will help others do the same. Beautiful in delivery and in message, Ananda is one unique book of poetry I absolutely loved. I can't recommend it enough.
