WOW! Not only was I kept on the edge of my seat and couldn't put it down, I was blown away by this book in the series. As a novella you are not disappointed by the shortness of the book as it has everything you need to be amazed. Detectives Mack and Brenda are going cross country to LA when their car dies off the main road since Mack wanted to take the scenic route away from all the truck traffic. Walking to the nearest town for a tow past cornfield after cornfield they come to Green Ridge a very strange town where the tow truck driver itched for a fight with Mack and he lost. But Brenda noticed there was too many odd things wrong with the town. A little boy, Josh runs up to them and warns them that Adam, the leader of the town wanted them dead because no outsider should get out of this town. What is going on. Too many things points to a cult of some kind. Well from here everything gets hairy and we are dealing with professional hit teams as well as the men of the town shooting at them. Will Brenda and Mack get out alive and unscathed? What is Josh going to do? He is just a little boy holed up with Brenda and Mack. I Love this series and this novella was more than amazing. You just can't put it down and I can't wait to see what happens next. Will Mack take charge of Josh? I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

FBI agents Mack and Brenda are on their way to LA when their car breaks down in the middle of Nebraska corn fields and they stumble into strange little town called Green Ridge. From there on the action is non-stop and will keep you on the edge of your seat til the end. A very fast-paced novella by Lily Campbell, for whom I am an advanced reader, and glad I am!

Short story full of action with the characters we have grown to love.I prefer a novel to a teaser you can’t build the frame around the storyline in so few words , so I feel it suffers a certain negative, feels rushed without depth but not everyone wants to spend hours enjoying life

Mack and Brenda again as the formidable duo doing what they do best. Another short story from Lily but a definite must read. I think the best yet in the series.

Too short

Would have liked to have read a longer story. What was there was great but needed more. Some history on the partners would have been nice
