I was very excited to sit down to a well-written, spiritual book. The author, Del Duduit, had interviewed some of the greats in NFL and brought those players' wisdom together in a book that made me smile. First Down Devotions is a great devotional morning or Sunday read that reminds you to value what is important in life. Each player interviewed had some really neat advice to share, as well as Del's take on living a Godly life in general.

I loved how Del used football terminology to separate his messages within chapters. Terms used like "In the Huddle and Cross the Goal Line". Mr. Duduit was consistent with these categories throughout the book so that the reader easily knew where the message was going and the messages' intentions.

This book is a great inspirational read for anyone, not just football fans. I highly enjoyed it!

This is a very good devotional for those who love God and football too. Each devotion is about five pages long so it will take about 5 minutes each day. They start 0ff with God's Word from the Bible. Next, a person connected with the NFL covers the topic of the devotional with examples from their life. The next section is entitled "In the Huddle". This is a short paragraph that sets out why what was just espoused is relevant in your life. The final section is entitled "Cross the Goal Line". In this section, the reader is given things they can do in their life when facing the main issue of the devotional. These are very helpful.

My only criticism is that there are only 30 of these devotions so you will have to find new devotional material pretty quickly.

Love this book. The examples of Biblical wisdom lived out in the lives of some of the NFL's greats is a must-read for sports fans who also love Scripture. Particularly liked lessons from the lives and careers of Benjamin Watson and Andy Dalton.

Excellent book filled with personal stories from NFL players. Along with their stories, there are areas for reflection. This is a great book to give as a gift.

Reading through this book one day at a time as a companion to my own Bible reading. Del, with the help of a few others, takes you inside some well-known NFL players to share their own stories of faith and relying on God each and every day. They might wear a helmet and uniform for a football franchise, but they are ultimately playing on God's team.
I encourage you to read the book and know that we are on the winning team, God's team!!
Thanks Del
