How do you find a way to tell the truth when you have been lying from the start?
A sizzling hot Age Gap Long Distance Online Christmas Romance.
Lucy Beckett is an Instagram sensation and top model and pretty much everyone under the age of 30 knows who she is. She is exhausted with fame and the superficiality of her life. She is fed up of people around her just wanting her face, her body, her money and her fame.
Lucy is lonely and just wants to be seen for herself, for who she really is. She creates a fake profile online to find real friends who don't want her for all the wrong reasons.
She never expects to find a real intense soul connection with someone in the build up to Christmas.
Lucy's new girlfriend is coming home for Christmas. Can Lucy find a way to finally tell the truth?
**'Some writers who creates characters of any kind, let them carve their own paths should then ask themselves these important questions: why am i writing the story and what is it that i want to tell readers..'
1.5stars! A bit frustrating and an inundatedly dull story...
Unfortunately, I didn't like this one, and that is 100% down to the weird flip-flopping 3rd person POV (and the errors that occured because of it). The style was messy and made the characters feel more shallow. Legit, if this was rewritten in a regular 3rd person with one POV per chapter, I would probably have given it 3 or 4 stars.
Also, there wasn't that much Christmas to it, not as much as I'd have expected from the title.
Lucy made herself famous by accident on the Internet in high school. She was famous for her looks - gorgeous face and body. She became an international model - a sensation. But never had the chance to just be real. Just herself. Scared to look for love as the woman that was known for the face and body, but not the "real" her. She goes looking for love online, but is too afraid to say who she really is. She posts by a fake name, Noah and doesn't post any face shots, no video chats.
Very quickly, she gets a match with Sasha. They are soon messaging and taking on the phone all through the night. Sasha finally catches on, and just wants to know the truth. But she's falling in love with Noah. And Noah (Lucy) is with her, too.
Fast forward a month, Christmas is near. Will they meet as their real, true identities?
Things get hot and heavy quickly.
Something to listen to on audiobook while in the car.
Thank you to narration narration by Madeline Sandston.
Another great lesfic romance by Emily Hayes! There was a certain sweetness to this book that shone through and coupled well with the hot steamy scenes!
This was OK but didn’t really hold my attention. Lucy stumbled into online fame and fortune so now she only knows people who want her for her fame and wealth. Sasha left an unfulfilling job to work for herself. They’re both lonely and use an app to meet and chat over the phone. Because Lucy is hiding her real identity, obviously problems arise. The blurb isn’t totally accurate because they don’t really have the meeting in person until the very end. Most of their communication is online or via phone. There are some cute moments though, like Lucy getting a dog.
This was a super cute and very quick read. Lucy and Sasha were adorable main characters. Both meet on through a website for those looking for friends. Lucy, hating her career and life, lied about her name and career. From the first moment these two connected there was immediate chemistry. There were a lot of red flags for Sasha about Lucy’s deception which she chose to ignore. Max, the big lug was a great addition to this cast of characters. The age gap was never once an issue which is interesting for an “age gap” romance, but it was nice to not have that added drama. This book made me smile which is what we all need these days!
Another triumphant book from the skilled hands of Emily Hayes who is quickly becoming my favourite author. I dont want to ruin the storyline for potential readers but know you will not be disappointed, instead this book and others by Emily will enrich your life and give it purpose x
A sweet story with a happy ending. Lucy is a sensational internet model, very well off, but she is questioning the superficiality of her job. She feels unfulfilled, as though something is missing. Sasha gave up her corporate job because of the same reasons, she is now working from home as a graphic designer. Sasha is very critical of the lifestyle of models. They meet through an online chatting site, Sasha using her real name, but Lucy under a pseudonym. After Lucy realises Sasha’s dislike of models and their lifestyle, she avoids giving Sasha her real details - but eventually this attitude comes back to bite her. This is a well written story, many laughs especially with Max the dog, and several emotional moments. It is a nice read sitting in front of a warm fire
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the characters and the story. I’m not much of an advocate for social media. I like that the pretense of an online persona is discussed and it is not real. Great author. She is highly recommended.
This story was very unique and engaging. Lucy, Instagram sensation and top model, is tired of her superficial life. She wants a friend who will like her for herself, not her fame or pretty face. She creates a fake profile online named Noah, and starts talking with Sasha. They really have connected on this "meet a friend" app. Through their daily "chats," they find they have so much in common and their friendship evolves. However, Sasha now wants to meet in person when she goes to NYC for Christmas.
For the most part this novella was lighthearted, easy to read with lots of enjoyable dialogue. Emily created two very relatable characters with a terrific story that leads to a perfect Christmas. The ending is sizzling and so is the bonus epilogue!
Getting to know someone this day in age often begins online and that includes the desire to just meet new friends. However, Sasha and Lucy's friendship blossoms into something much more. Only, one of them is telling the full truth and despite the reasons behind the facade, it may jeopardize the newfound bond between the two. This was such a bittersweet book but it was well worth the read.
This is a wonderful story that leads to a perfect Christmas day. I loved the premise, the build-up, the characters, the conclusion. It explores truth and honesty without you hardly noticing because the story draws you in so well. And all this in a short read. Give it a try.
Emily Hayes writes such lovable characters and every story is a page-turner. This book involved two women meeting online and falling in love without having met each other face-to-face. The online, text, & telephone interactions were witty & adorable. There were also plenty of hot scenes with great chemistry between the MC’s.
A beautiful, very current love story to fall in love with someone who you haven’t seen only through the web. Real dialogues, beautifully described characters a lot of emotions and pure love. Easy to read and easy to fall in love with both characters. Fully enjoyed it
Lucy signs up for an online site looking for friendship! She ends up meeting Sasha they hit it off and end up having great chemistry! Only one problem Lucy has a secret! A cute sexy read!
This is a wonderful Christmas love book. Two people find love online. It doesn’t always go smoothly but then the end they find each other. There is a motion of all kinds and there’s a great book. I recommend
I loved this book. I loved how they met on a friends website and connected immediately. How they could talk forever and then the truth comes out but nothing had changed and they both got the love of their life.
I'm not gonna lie, I didn't finish it. Too much passive writing, wrong tenses, and info dumping. I felt I was reading something from someone telling me ABOUT a book, not reading the story myself. Couldn't get into it.
