"His Heart's Guardian Angel" is a historical romance novel of approximately 60,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
This is an amazing historical romance in the 1800's. The first few chapters were rough and raw making it hard to read.
A young girl, Becky Adams was living in an orphanage until she was the age to leave. She became a Mail Order Bride which didn't work out. She found a horse, jumped on and off she ran down the country road to find her friends who was in the same orphanage. She rode until she found a hurt man beside the road she stopped to help him.
The story got better as I read, it turn out to be a lovely story. The storyline and plot was amazing, I couldn't put the book down. I enjoyed the writing style and have already bought another book that author has written
The characters were vividly described making the story come alive and the settings were well described with vivid color. This is the first book that I have read by this author. It is a good clean book, I recommend this book to all that like historical romance novels. A bonus at the was an unexpected extended epilogue. This is a stand-alone story, no cliff- hangers.
When Becky finds out the man she was supposed to marry is twice her age and abusive , she runs. On the way to her friend's house she rescued her friend's brother who's been robbed and is hurt. This is their story. The author does a great job taking you back to the day with her perfectly painted scenes. Her characters are strong and well developed and the story moves fluidly with her descriptive and detailed writing. She brings drama and action as well as the sweet romance. It an enjoyable story and I would recommend reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Strong against all odds, joined her friends and crush from the orphanage where they were raised together to build a life together as Cute story, but just felt a little “entitled.”
Jack showing his Money and walking back home with a year’s earnings alone was something his rancher friends should have known was a bad idea.
I understand why she ran away from marrying the man who paid for her to travel to WY to marry him, but think she should have made some attempt to at least reimburse his expenses or to let him know she would when she could.
An old friend, an angel, or his forever? This was such a sweet story I loved every minute I spent reading. Becky becomes a mail-order bride and finds it is not what she expects so she becomes a mail-order runaway bride. On her travels, she comes across an injured man who just happens to be her friend’s brother and the man who holds her heart. Lovely characters overall and wonderful villain to is what you will find in this piece. I loved the cover perfect for this time of year. I am happy to recommend this book.
This is a story about a young lady that was raised in an orphanage. She answers an add to go west and become a mail order bride. When she gets there she discovers that he is a very violet saloon owner. His Aunt that is in his care and dying has been severely abused and tells her not to marry him. He forces her to go with him before a pastor but she runs away at the beginning of the ceremony to go find a girl and her brother that lives 20 miles north of where she is. Will she find happiness or be bound to an abusing husband.
When she answers a mail order bride ad in a paper Becky doesn't realize how life changing the adventure is going to be. At the end of the train ride she finds her groom a man twice her age, and that is abusive as well. When she runs from him on their wedding day she finds an injured man who just happens to be an old friend that she was going looking for. After reuniting with her old friend and his sister things get much better for Becky. This is a sweet romance book that everyone should read.
His Heart's Guardian Angel An Inspirational Historical Romance Book
This is a very good and enjoyable inspirational story about friendship and love and family.A young woman that is a mail order bride finding out her groom is not what she wants runs to her friend and on the way finds her friends injured brother The characters are strong and courageous and faithful The extended epilogue is very good and the characters are happy and joyous
I often wonder how many of the real mail order brides ended up with a William Culver rather than the person described in the ad. Grace Clemens has given us one of those stories with the tale of William Clemons, Becky Adams and Jack Davis. This book has deception, greed, romance, danger and truly, some very interesting characters. I enjoyed this story and be sure and read the Extended Epilogue for a few more twists.
Jack Davis and Becky Adams have known each other since they were in the same orphanage growing up. Becky has loved Jack since she was 12. Jack moved on with his sister Emma to Wyoming territory. Becky eventually took a mail order bride ad from out of Wyoming in the hopes of reconnecting with Jack and his sister Emma. True love and the wild west leads to an interesting read you won’t want to put down.
Beyond all the struggles and challenges, I loved how true personalities and true family ties came about. The relationships were so pure and sweet, I couldn’t help but cheer them on. I liked the fact that propriety and proper decorum were obviously practiced. My favorite fact though was the emphasis that true riches isn’t about money.
I enjoyed this book. This is fiction but even fiction can tell a story about God making the way for some people to find each other again. As for him traveling alone with all that money was questionable - but the story pretty much began at that point. Even today, people make dumb mistakes - right. Despite some complaints by some, I really enjoyed this book.
Good story. Not sure what they had on William that he would be in prison the rest of his life. Yes assault and breaking into Jack 's place.. I agree he is a nasty piece of work..but did the have enough on him?
Very enjoyable story that did have some predictable events, but others that weren't. It was an inspirational story about orphans that does encourage. Highly recommend.
A true of what like was like in parts of the old West . A great read filled with endearing characters and a tale of undying love that was thought to be lost.
Becky, Jack & his sister grew up in an orphanage together. Becky answered a mail order bride ad advisement in Colorado where she had last heard Jack and his sister had moved to. The man she was supposed to marry was a mean drunk & she ran away.
Very interesting historical story nd plot. Enjoyed this book tremendously. Grace Clemens is a great author. Her books are always realistic nd heartwarming.
This was a great read and I enjoyed it immensely I love the characters and I love the story line I wish this story could win on to 4 more books loved it
Lots of adventure and intrigue in the beginning to reel me in. The book later slips into the “man is kind dumb” trope for a while before winding back to the danger faced in the beginning chapters.
Tropes: Orphanage friends, Mail-order bride, Thieves & a robbery, A runaway bride, And a rescue of a dying man. Dang!
... But it all comes together pretty perfectly and this book was good. I was happy while reading this book. Every once in a while I need a chill read that I don't have to think about much!
The plot was good and it wasn't too stretched out or boring.
⚠️⚠️⚠️SPOILERS AHEAD💚💚
Becky is a mail-order bride for a guy named William, finds out he's abusive, runs away on a stolen horse, finds an injured men on the route to safety in Kaycee, Wyoming & pulls him onto her horse. In the light of day she realizes that the injured men is friend of hers & someone the grew up with in her orphanage, Jack. Jack was left for dead by thieves.
Anyways, Becky moves in with him & his sister (also an orphanage friend of hers) & slowly falls in love with Jack.
One thing I would've changed about this story is: we never get a good conversation between Jack & Beaky about how she saved him. He thanked her, but that was it. Also, the book was a teensy bit redundant. Especially because Jack's sister Emma kept bothering him about falling in love with becky. Becky's abusive groom finds her near the end of the book a Jack saves her. This book was pretty good - a nice, chill read.
