Can a dragon shifter help heal his mate’s broken heart -- with the promise of a fake wedding?
The Pretend Bride
At twenty-two I had everything I dreamed of. Generous parents, a dedicated fiance, and an upcoming wedding in Las Vegas. For the icing on the cake, my parents paid to have Garrett Hudson, a gorgeous rock star, sing for my bachelorette party. Vegas was supposed to be fun; a way to relax before I got married. But the fun ended when I walked in on my fiance. He was with someone else. He was with not one other woman, but four. He begged my forgiveness. But he had betrayed me. To bury my pain, I take risks. Out in the desert while rock climbing, I fall. I should have died. But someone catches me, and saves my life.. I wake up in the arms of a man. Not just any man. The sexy rock star who sang for me. I’m single now, but he’s a playboy. But he’s different with me. He’s kind and considerate, but he’s hiding a big secret. After my ex betrayed me, can I let myself fall for this handsome rock star?
The Rock Star Shifter
At thirty, I was still unmated. And that’s how I wanted it. My overbearing clan wanted me to choose a respectable profession -- doctor, lawyer, dentist. They wanted me to conform. But music stole my heart. I moved to Vegas and made it big. And now I don’t go home anymore. I pushed the dragon inside me away. I won’t listen to my family. I refuse to settle down and find a mate; I like playing the field. Then I meet a captivating young bride. This human woman is different. She belongs to someone else, but I am drawn to her like no other. I can’t get her out of my head. But do not steal the mate of another, no matter the circumstance. Then the girl leaves her fiance, and now she is free. This awakens my dragon, who insists this girl is mine. My mate. Under a sunny sky, I save her life. Now I am bound to her. Can I convince this beautiful woman to give love another chance?
Can a dragon shifter convince his love that she’s his mate, and turn his fake-marriage into a real one?

Brittany White has written a 5-star book with this one. Lily is in Las Vegas with her bridesmaids for her bachelorette party. Her stepfather has gotten Garrett Hudson, a rock star to play at the party. When Garrett sees Lily he feels something for her. Lily is out with her best friend Carmen and she tells her that she is going to surprise her fiance. When she gets to his room, she is the one who is surprised. He has four women in the room with him. She calls off the wedding right then. Lily meets Garrett again when she goes rock climbing and falls. Unknown to Lily, Garrett is a dragon shifter and he saves her before she hit the ground. Lily and Garrett agree to a fake marriage until her ex-fiance shows up and Garrett has to turn into his dragon in front of her. She tells him that she can't go thru with it. She is mad but after she cools down, she thinks what she did was a mistake. Garrett has done nothing to hurt her, only to protect her. Lily and Garrett makeup and she ends up meeting part of his other family, the Texas shifters. When you call on them you not only get the one you called but you get the rest of them too. On the night of the rehearsal dinner, Garrett is waiting to meet Lily's mother and stepfather. He smells a wolf in the area. Garrett asks Lily "have you seen your ex in the area today?" She tells him no, she wouldn't think he would show up again. When Garrett meets Lily's stepfather he knows that he is the wolf. He doesn't think that Lily knows about her stepfather being a wolf shifter. He decides to tell her. When he tells her, Lily calls her stepfather and tells him she needs to talk to him. When he gets to her, she asks him " are you a wolf shifter?" He looks at her and said "yes." Her stepfather looks at Garrett and said does she know what you are? Garrett tells him yes. Lily ends up telling her stepdad about her ex and he has a story to tell her about him as well. Once the story is over, Lily tells Garrett that the only reason they were getting married was so that she didn't have to tell her family that the wedding was off. She tells him that she is done and turns and walks away from both men. She goes back to the dinner and tells everyone to enjoy dinner but the wedding is off. Lily goes back to Garrett's penthouse and the Texas shifters are still there. On look and Juliana knows something is wrong. She goes to Lily and they have a nice long talk. When Garrett gets home, he is told to let Lily rest. The next morning, Garrett can't wait and he goes to Lily's room. They end up talking about things and again they makeup. Some of the guys from the Texas shifters took Garrett out ring shopping the night before and when Garrett talks to Lily he gets down on one knee and asks " Lily will you marry me for real? She tells him that she would. Do Lily and Garrett get their happy ever after? This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone. I loved how everyone was like a big family even though they weren't.
I received a free copy of this book and I am leaving my voluntary and honest review.
I enjoyed this book and found the editing issues to be less prominent, so that’s a plus. Garret’s a world famous rockstar, living his life basically as a human, as he ignores or doesn’t hear his dragon and rarely goes home to his clan. We find out during this book that he feels like he doesn’t belong with his clan, as he different than them. It’s not that he feels like they’re beneath him, it’s totally the other way round. I enjoyed meeting Garrett’s best friend and cousin Jackson, he seems like a genuinely nice guy. Lily has come to Las Vegas for two weeks before her wedding with her friends. Her mum and step father have hired Garrett to play a private concert at her party. Lily feels really attracted to Garrett and finds out that he’s a genuinely nice guy but feels guilty since she’s about to get married. Lily got the surprise of her life when she knocked on her fiancé’s hotel room door and finds him with four barely dressed women. She ends their engagement but decides to stay in Vegas since everything’s been paid for.
Garrett felt an attraction towards Lily since their first meeting, even his dragon finally starts communicating with him and try’s to tell him that Lily is their mate but since Garrett doesn’t want a mate he ignores his dragon, basically for most the book as he’s extremely adamant that he doesn’t want a mate. I found it weird that no one other than Lily’s best friend had met her fiancé and everyone was totally okay with her marrying a stranger. She really should get some new friends and family, as I know if I tried to marry someone no one had seen or met I know that someone would definitely sit down and try and talk some sense into me lol. The whole fake wedding thing was weird as well. I know it would totally suck having to tell everyone that the weddings off and why but still. It worked for the story though. I loved that Davi and Carolina dropped what they were doing to help Garrett out by protecting Lily from her ex. That’s what true friends are about. I loved getting snippets of the previous characters. How will Lily react when she finds out that Garrett, Davi and Carolina are dragon shifters and her fiancé wasn’t truthful about a lot of things? I’m looking forward to reading Jackson’s story next.
There were parts of this book that I loved. Then were also parts that I just didn’t understand. Despite that, I think this was my favorite of the series so far. We met Garrett in the last book. A rockstar, living the ultimate rockstar lifestyle. Who also happens to shift into a very large fire breathing dragon. He has chosen to live his life completely human. Not spending much time with his large dragon clan. Lily has come to Las Vegas for two weeks of fun in the sun, while she plans her wedding. First up, the bachelorette/bachelor parties. Her parents have hired the super popular rockstar Garrett Hudson to play a private concert for her party. Everything is going great, until she decides to surprise her fiancé before going back to her room. But the surprise is on her when she finds him in his room with four scantily clad women. End of engagement. Garrett has been drawn to Lily since the first moment he saw her. His dragon knows long before him, that she is his mate. But he fights it. As much as he loves spending time with her, the last thing he wants is a mate. I loved both of these characters. They were great together. Both up for a fun time together with no strings attached. They truly had a good time together. I loved seeing all of the past couples invade Las Vegas. It’s always a circus type atmosphere when they descend in full. It was a little unrealistic to think no one other than her best friend had ever seen, or met her fiancé. I didn’t understand Lily’s reasoning behind this “fake marriage”. I get she didn’t want the embarrassment of telling everyone about why she broke her engagement, but a fake wedding? With a stranger? I also didn’t get Garrett’s whole, “I love her but don’t want a mate” mentality. It got old. They do figure it all out eventually. Garrett only has to chase her down twice to get to that wedding. Along the way they have to deal with a deep hidden family secret and an ex that’s hiding his own secret, and won’t take no for an answer. It was a good story. The editing in this was was better, but still a few misplaced words.
Love, love, love anything written by Brittany White. This book.is just another reason why. Lily is in Las Vegas to get married. She's got a lot of her friends with her to have fun and celebrate. First article of business, an incredible party night/bridal shower for Lily. And who did her patents get to sing for her? Garrett Hudson! Just one of the most talented, gorgeous, hot rockstar to grace the face of the planet. But when Garret gets ready to sing he locks eyes with Lilly and the chemistry between them is off the rails. But Lily I'd getting married, right? That's until she stops by his room. She is shocked when a half naked woman answers the door and there are three more in his sweet. She leaves her rings, her planned wedding and her douche canoe behind in that room. Distraught, disheveled and devastate she is just trying to get away from him. But fate puts her right back in front of Garrett Hudsen. What's a girl to do in this kind of situation. Well the answers are right here in this book. But, start with book one for an incredible reading experience. I mean, why take a taste of your favorite dessert when you can have a full serving. And always remember, if you want to read a book you can't put down, you have to pick it up first.
The Irish dragons are branching out and now we are in Vegas This is Rockstar Garrett Hudson not only is he a star but he is a unmated dragon shifter and that is the way he likes it and he has no intention of changing that. So why does his dragon continually yell mate and mine whenever he is near the bride to be whose bachelorette party he is singing at. Lily's ;life is perfect she is about to marry the man she loves and her parents have spoiled her with her favourite risk star singing at her party but it all comes crashing down when she finds her fiancée in bed with four other women. She immediately dumps him but decides to stay in Vegas to have some fun including rock climbing when she loses her footing and is plummeting she is rescue by non other than Garrett As he finally excepted what his dragon is trying to tell him and can he convince Lilly to give love another chance You will have to read to see
Garrett the rock star who happens to be a dragon shifter loves his single life in Vegas until he sees Lilly at her Bachelorette party hes dragon has just gone crazy he cant claim another man's mate.
Lilly young still in college wealthy parents is a little nieve but still shows maturity for someone so young. Then she sees the hottest rock star ever and hes singing at her party her engagement party its just a fluke write she still wants to get married until she catches his cheating hide with not one but 4 women what a jerk. This has lead to some rather risky behavior for Lilly good thing Garrett is there when she makes the ultimate mistake never ever go rock climbing alone. It's instant chemistry and hilarity when one shifter dragon who doesn't want commitment but can't let Lilly go agrees to a fake wedding one he suggested now who doesn't want commitment.
I was allowed to read and ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Lily broke off her engagement went rock climbing, falls and is saved by a rockstar. In Vegas for her bachelorette party then two weeks later her wedding Lily Copeland had been surprised when her step-father had managed to get rock-star Garrett Hudson to perform for the party. She and all the females at the party all go gooey eyed over the sexy singer and Lily is surprised when he sits and talks to her. the next day after being out with her friend and a bit tipsy she decides to surprise he fiance but she is the one in for a shock when the door open and he is there with four women so she breaks off their engagement. doing crazy thins to recover she goes rock climbing lone and falls .When she wakes she has her heads in Garrett's lap. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Yeah, Garrett finally gets his novel. And you will not be disappointed in this one either. Always wondered if he would get his happily ever after when I was introduced to him a few books back. I wonder who else in the clan will get theirs too. Ooo please say there are more coming? And what of the stepfather and mother? Ugh so many questions! The plot was good. It all tied together in the end with tons of romance, some action and a smidgen of adventure. I wanted to smack that fiancee of her's badly. I wish she had a cast iron skillet in her hand or beside her somewhere to grab. Love how Garrett took everything in stride and tried to do the right thing throughout the novel. I honestly thought he'd be a bit stuck up, but don't judge a book by its cover. To get to the ending is was a on and off thing. I was getting ansty by the end. Going was it on or was it off?
I’m sorry, but this plot line just doesn’t work for me: girl finds her fiancé fornicating with 4 gorgeous women two weeks before their wedding, sends him packing and then plots with a famous rock star to stage a “fake” wedding instead of canceling the whole thing and being truthful about the sleazeball with friends and family. No, not happening. Since all parties were wealthy and she had a good relationship with her mother and stepfather, there is no way she would complicate the situation further by involving some famous guy to play a fake groom. It just doesn’t make a bit of sense. There was so many other ways the author could have brought the sexy guy into the plot line. Can you try to imagine disrupting all the lives of family and guests by letting them come to a fake wedding? The height of selfishness is beyond me.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story, the characters are strong, the storyline was full and had a lot of depth and the characters word believable.
In the previous story of Davi and Carolina, we met Garrett who was a popstar living in Las Vegas. This is a story about him and his human mate Lily. Garrett and Lily meet when he is hired to play for her hens night. They are instantly drawn to each other. Even though Lily is to be married, but things aren’t as it seems. The story progresses and secrets are learned and before you know it, it starts off as a pretend marriage and eventually becomes a real one. They live happily ever after. To find out more details, you will need to read this book for yourself.
I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and review with my honest and fair opinion.
I loved this book and everyone before it, there’s just something about this series that keeps you connected throughout and the characters are amazing, smart, funny, entertaining, fun and some are dangerous and that’s the point with all these books they each have there own stories that warms your heart and makes you the reader fall in love with each and every one of them. And Lily and Garrett story is the same but also different, it’s about fighting for what you want and not letting go. There where mistakes and misunderstandings and hidden secrets that almost tore them apart but in the end fate and love always wins.
Meh. 2.5 stars. Nothing special about this one. Writing was rather basic/simplistic/shallow leading me to wonder whether the author is young... Like mid-20's young with an idealistic world view. The hero wasn't bad but I had a hard time liking the heroine. There was no conflict/adversity to overcome. No deep emotions. No sudden insights. Nothing but 2 weeks in Vegas. Fiancé cheats, wedding called off, wedding back on with fake groom, wedding is off again, wedding is on.
Given the overly simplistic titles in this series, I wasn't expecting much and I didn't find much. Glad I read it for free & I doubt I'll be reading any of the others.
Lily had gone to Vegas with her bridesmaids to celebrate her upcoming wedding. During the do Garrett was on stage. He sang one song just looking at her later he came and sat with her. When she went back to her hotel she went to surprise her fiancée but. It was her who got a surprise he was in bed with three women and one in the hot tub. To get over him she decided to go rock climbing and Garrett has to save her when she starts to fall. He takes her back to his place where he gets a doctor. Then they start getting close. I’m not going to spoil it only to say this is a good read with a will they or not
We finally have Garrett’s, the Dragon Rockstar, story. There was no enemies to fight like the previous dragon stories but his dilemma is more difficult: denial. Denying that he found his mate. It’s kinda funny, his dragon kept repeating mine, mine, mine, mate, mate, mate but he keeps on ignoring it. And he can’t help but be with her. I wonder how long can he keep up the charade with himself.
And just as he was able to accept the truth, Lily had her own denial. These two will make a perfect pair. 🤣😂🤣
I downloaded this book to my kindle app and blazed through it. I was apprehensive about it because I've read some questionable shifter series but I have to say that I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading more in this series. The characters felt very real, the emotions raw and understandable. The sex scenes were not under or overstated. They were just right. You could practically feel the passion oozing off the pages from the start when they first met. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
I like how he had to get used to not having a girl in his own bed after concerts. Plus how they were able to get all the things ready like a real wedding, even though it was to be a fake get together. He had to go through the whole process for the wedding even though it was fake, the clothes for both of them, the food for the receptions and the places they were going to go to. They even a clan picked out sorta, but he had to do a lot of things even though it was fake. But in the end it all worked out well for they were able to get married anyway.
Loved the different path this series is taking. The Irish dragon brothers are branching out. Garrett is drawn to Lily at her bachelorette party, but he doesn’t know why. Lily is in for a shock when she goes to surprise her fiancé and catches him cheating on her with four women. Breaking off the engagement, Lily stays in Vegas seeking thrill. While rock climbing she loses her footing and falls. Garrett swooped in and saves. Another great story by Brittany. Hopes this leads to more stories into the other clans.
I received a free copy of this book for an honest review
Love Love Loved It!💞 I know this wraps up this absolutely great series, but I still have a great curiosity about Jackson and the Oregon clan! Is there any chance that their stories might be in the works?!?? I know that I would love them as much as I've loved this series! Everyone out there this is a great enthralling series!!! Thank you so much Brittany for such magical reads!!! 💞💖💗. 💜💜💜💜💜💜😻
Another great read by Brittany White who once again brings strong characters in Garrett and Lily. She weaves an entertaining story filled with romance and love as well as drama and suspense and humor. She delivers a story that had me hooked from start to finish. It's well written with descriptive scenes , moves quickly and smoothly and I enjoyed reading. I would recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
It is Garrett’s turn to find his dragon mate! He believes he has it all…until he meets Lily…and the problem arises that she is engaged to someone else! When she is engaged no longer, she is free to explore what is between her and Garrett. Will he make it easy or hard? Will he have to turn to new friends to help him land Lily? Another great book in the dragon saga by Brittany White~ I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
I'm off to book 8 in this series. I've loved and got caught up in each new book. I love the kind of flow of these stories. I like what was started in this world. Starting with the Irish dragons tragedy. The only thing I'm having a problem with seems to be continuity. The author has added the Fae,witches and wolves to this world but shows no signs of encompassing them all of keeping track of the new additions such as their children. It's a shame really.
This story was cute with some hotness thrown in. Cheaters never win eventually liars and cheaters are caught. The one part of the story I did not like was that Lily's mom did not know about her husband. I just love these crazy dragon shifters and their crazy kids. I would have liked to have had the second wedding included in this story. I enjoyed this story and how Garrett changed his mind about marriage once he found his mate.
Garrett doesn't want to settle down, find a mate and have hatchlings, until he meets Lily. Lily is about to get married, she loves her fiance; so why can't she get Garrett off her mind and why does her body yearn for him? I love that even though Lily's ex is a cheater, she's willing to pretend with Garrett. Garrett is like so many bad boy rockers we read about that is tamed against their will by their soulmate.
I liked how you showed that it didn't matter what you were or who you were. That love could work out if you tried and forgive. And there are always secrets around the corner. Some good and some not so good. But almost always a good ending, or beginning.
Absolutely loved this story! Has a lot of everything, and several I didn't see that coming moments. So happy for Garrett and Lily, and although they face a lot of setbacks, in the end they find their happy place together. I would love to read about their wedding with Garrett's family. Hoping for another 1 in this series.
I love how each book brings in the previous characters. There was drama, laughing and suspense in this story. This one keeps you reading then wanting to go back and read the previous ones again or if this is your first one go back and read the rest. You will not regret it! I voluntarily agreed to review this product. My review is entirely my own opinion.
Nice romance, a stand alone, though would help to read previous books in series.
Lily in Vegas to marry her fiance. Garth hired by lily's parents to preform at her Bachelorette party. Read the book to see how their intense reaction to each other, becomes something. The twist and turns they both have to over come, before they can have that happy ever after.
I have really enjoyed the Irish Dragon Shifter Brothers books, all seven so far. Each is different in it's own way but kept me glued to the story line. This latest one for sure, a bit different but all the beloved characters from previous books. A twist but love does bring them together.
Now that we've met Jackson I'm hoping there is an 8th books in this series.
The loner rockstar finally meets his mate who has few unknown secrets even for herself. After the bride dumps her cheating fiance..Garrett allows his attractions to to take over. Of course the Texas Dragons join in and help save the wedding. Great story and and a hope for more Irish Dragon Shifter Brothers books.
I realize this is book 7 in the series... but this is the one that captivated my attention so it's the first one I read in the series and by the author. I enjoyed it, and loved meetings the couples that I skipped in the first 6 books! I loved that this had just a touch of drama and how it was handed.
