Drive to Thrive is a book that guides you to become a successful manager. The book starts by telling basic us basic things about management and mangers, which is helpful for readers that are new to this genre.
The use of real life examples by author makes it more interesting to read.
"The manager is not the most powerful person in the organization. The manager is the most empowered person in the organization and can bring out the best in others.”
Being a management student myself, I'd know most of the things mentioned in the book beforehand, but still I found Drive to thrive a good inspirational book. And I would recommend it to everyone.

The book contains tips for aspiring managers for helping them to bring the best out of others. The book aims at aiding the struggling managers to become inspirational and productive.

It is conveniently divided into chapters that explain everything from the very first step. From identifying a manager in oneself to how to make the ultimate choice of becoming a manager. Every chapter ends with a reflection note. The chapters have been summarized as well at the end of every chapter. Some pictorial representations are also there.
What I liked the most in the book is the skillful and pinpoint framing of chapters. The book is so easy to read due to that. It has every detail of managing branch but it doesn't bore you. You can quickly grab the intricacies of the subject as they are placed in bullet points and charts . Beautifully crafted paragraphs, headings, sub - headings and apt use of bold and italic fonts at proper places.
Other than the well thought and well executed framing, the book also has great inspiring stories and quotes at every block. The author has used proficient quotes and they are added at suitable time in the book. I'm most impressed with the amount of effort the author has put into this book.
.
The book has full capability to train you to be a great manager if you are ready to read it with diligence. The author has done his best to make it easy for his readers to easily grab each and every point made in the book. You can easily read the whole book in 2-3 days without feeling tensed. Get your hands on it if you are a management student or if you want to be a manager. It is inspiring and motivating .

It is better to lead from behind and put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.’

The above lines are mentioned in ‘Drive to Thrive’ by ‘Sharad Bajaj’ where author has penned the qualities of a leader or a manager. Before starting much about the book, I must refer in context to the above lines that our Former cricket captain M. S. Dhoni did the same thing when the team won and loose. There are several questions that keep on hammering our mind when we organise something where lot of human resources are required. Let it be corporate world, or a battleground or a playground or even in our family functions where a single individual has to look after all the allocated peoples for the allocated work within time with the best outcome. Such is a book written by the author ‘Sharad Baja’ where the readers like us will find the answers to the question and may understand the role of manager and managing the things. The managerial work is hectic as each and every time we need to deliver to our superior as well empowers our supportive. Author has mentioned how one can be the inspirational manager! How one can bring the best out of his team members! How one need to deliver, communicate and share information and so.
Overall, it is a book written in easy language, with a better knowledge of the content and recommended to the ones those who want to be in the post or those who are doing something like that.

Drive To Thrive is undoubtedly the best guide to achieve excellence as a leader. The author has poured his vast experience and years of learning in this guide. But this is not only a book to become an excellent manager, rather it is more focused on character building and creating value as a team and leader.

Each chapter focuses on one particular aspect of management such as qualities for a manager, hurdles, responsibilities, building trust etc. At the end of it, a summary with a worksheet to reflect the lessons is also given. This way the author makes sure that the readers not only learn but also retain the concepts.

A book on management is not always an easy read. The jargons and the tone is not for all; people who have little interest in the subject may find it overly dry.

Here, the author of Drive to Thrive has done a great job in his book. He understood the gap and bridged it seamlessly to wider audience. He goes step by step to make sure you’re not left stranded in the middle of a chapter, the language is easy to understand and it is not just for a specific spectrum.

The book may easily be read by both- an executive and students alike.

What I specially love about the book was that it is well updated with time; the author knows that remote working is the future and the traditional approaches need reshuffling.

The chapters have a personal touch where the author shares his experience which is refreshing, quotes to support his argument and Reflection at the end of every chapter which will certainly help the readers to get more involved with the book and hence you relate to it much more.

I don’t see anyone not benefiting from the book. Do give it a try.

BOOK NAME : DRIVE TO THRIVE
AUTHOR : SHARAD BAJAJ
GENRE : BUSINESS NON FICTION
PAGE LENGTH : 165

When management is a vitality for survival, Mr. Sharad Bajaj, a well experienced technologist with experience over 20 years, penned down his thoughts on 'What it takes to become an inspirational manager by bringing the best out of others'.

Drive to Thrive is a book aimed at improving the management skills of individuals who are ambitious of becoming a great manager as well as helping the managers who wish to upgrade their management skills.

"A manager is a guide. They take a group of people & say, 'with you, I can make us a success ; I can show you the way." The definition of Who is a manager, being answered by Arsene Wenger is quoted by the author in the introductory pages. A lot of quotes by successful managers or entrepreneurs are quoted in the preceeding pages also.

After each chapter, summary is provided which will be helpful for revision in future for everyone who takes this book seriously. There is a reflection page after summary where one can self analyse their areas of betterment. I found this interesting. Apt and meaningful pictures are also provided when a chapter ends.

After reading this book, what I understood as qualities of a good manager are :
🔸The best manager has a vision and learns to communicate with clarity.
🔸The best manager effectively holds the team together.
🔸The best manager builds a bridge between the employees and the company's strategic needs.
🔸The best manager should be autonomous and responsible.
🔸The best manager knows when and how to be in command.
🔸The best manager takes the right decision at right time.
🔸The best manager shows managerial courage.
🔸The best manager shows leadership and inspires others.
🔸The best manager thinks clearly and brings clearly.
🔸The best manager collaborates.
🔸The best manager shows empathy, will be humble .

Pinpoint narration with systematically crafted paragraphs and pondering points, this book is a perfect solution for all people who wishes to become a great manager one day.

🌸 Drive to Thrive

🌸 Author- Sharad Bajaj

🌸 Drive to Thrive by Sharad Bajaj is a business and management book which offers you perfect guidance to become a successful manager. The powerful opinions and crystal clear perceptions of the author make the book stand out from other books,
The book is divided into chapters , and the chapters are divided into sub segments. This makes the content very systemic and easy to comprehend . A crisp summary of each chapter is also given at the end of the chapter and one thing which I really found amazing is the reflections given at the end of each chapter .
The book is basically about the management and the managerial skills . The author has started from the scratch , very well defining the role, qualities, weaknesses and strengths of a manager.
I liked the way he has related the real life incidences with the quality of a manager. We never realise that each one of us is a manager in one or the other way , we just need to define our role. The book not only focuses on professional life and achieving the targets but also tells us how to balance both professional and personal life.
The use of quotes from famous and renowned personalities also add on to the content of the book.
Mostly the books of this genre go with a rhythmic pace but this book has maintained a variation in the pace by adding relatable situations.
This is a must read for people who not only want to achieve success in their life but also want their team members to be happy , contented and successful.
A must read for one who aspires to be a true leader .

. "The manager is not the most powerful person in the organization. The manager is the most empowered person in the organization and can bring out the best in others.”

This book takes a lead explaining about leadership skills and also tells out the ways how to become a better manager, especially in this period of corona, where everything should be managed remotely.

The author explains the thoughts in his mind with easy words, enabling people understand it better. The chapter summary at the end is quite useful.

Dividing them into relevant chapter, adding pictures in between, and the 'Reflection' part in the end of each chapter, providing questions to think about are some of the positives of the book.

Work-Life balance is so much important, for you have only one life to live about. Being someone who had completely focussed on work, the author has understood why the balance is important and he advices for the cause. He tells that work-Life balance is a myth and one should recognize it as one.

He explains about Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIB), Winning as a team, Teamwork, Growth mindset, Psychological safety- and how these elements are important in the culture.

The one thing that bothered me is that it read more like a text book. There could be some more factors employed to make this book interesting. Anyhow, the advices or the points this book portrayed would be useful for people who are looking for a book that explains leadership skills.

Drive to Thrive
It’s a very short and precise read about management and the role of a manager in any organization. All the arguments in this book are supported by various facts and examples.
The author had very skillfully taken into account his own personal experiences and his understanding of the role of manager to give a detailed study of this topic. Mostly every new topic starts with a great quote of some famous personality which sets the tone for the topic.
I really loved the chronological buildup of the book, it starts with the existence of manager in ancient time to defining the role of manager in modern times to defining the types of manager and how to become a good manager all in less than 200 pages, which is commendable. Every chapter is followed by a summary and reflections (consisting thought-provoking questions) which I really liked. In ch-2 which dealt with one of author’s real life work experience I really learned and understood the five things he did for the successful execution of the project. Also, the challenges faced during lockdown restrictions and how to overcome them with calm and better management is praiseworthy. “There is no map” is one of my favorite part of this book. Being a teacher myself, I believe this book helped me too to execute and manage my class effectively.
“The best manager is to make a right decisions, despite little or no information.” - If you want to become a best manager you should definitely pick up this book, it’s really helpful.

Rating: 4/5

At which ever role we are, we all need to interact with people , work in teams and manage tasks and people. This book beautifully answers various questions on management like who is a manager, best manager and hurdles of manager etc. Through this book, author is trying to help managers in becoming good managers and leading the team in an efficient manner. The author has given this book a zing by quoting his experiences . Also, there are very wise quotes at the beginning of each chapter and all at various places.
“ When you love doing something, hard work is passion ; otherwise it gives you stress.”
I got to learn many things from the book. I really liked when author said that he doesn’t use his mobile as first thing in morning. Even I would like to make this profound change in my life. When author says that professional and personal life balance is a myth, that touches deep.

Last time I have read any business or management book, it was 'Finite and Infinite Games' by Simon Sinek. He is quite Remarkable at what he does and have every aspect crystal clear.

Reading this book 'Drive to Thirve' is such an attempt to improve your productivity and becoming a good leader. The practices that are involve can be easily practiced.

Book starts with definition of 'Manager' and then talk about the role of the manager and what are the hurdles they face. We often talk about balancing Work and life. Author has a beautiful take on this and talk about how your personal and professional live is linked and why we need to see this as a whole and not as two different culture.

The book then dig deep inside the cooperative live and talk about the importance of 'Just Start' and how there is no definate road-map to follow, and neither an end goal to achieve.

Writing is simple and not much technical term is used, which make it friendly to read from people across different working sector. Though the title of the book seems like pitching to only 'Managers' but Anyone working or even a part of organising team of small events can learn a lot from this book. Vector illustration some draft question to ponder upon and lots of quotation by famous personalities make this book a quick guide to which we can refer to any time.

A helpful book for managerial roles and to build the leadership skills

The book is best suited for the managerial roles and candidates who want to lead a group of people and also for the one who aspires to build up leadership qualities.
As they say, leadership is not just commanding and ordering as we come across most often, there is more to it. But we seldom experience that in our life, especially in today's office jargon.
Ever-growing demands in the corporate world enhance the need for prominent leadership and managerial skills that highlights team building and empower the fellow team members' trustworthiness, effort, work enrichment and reduces the psychological stress upon employees.
The productive work culture and team's growth is completely in the hands of the manager and in his decision-making skills.
The book sights the "BENEFITS OF A PSYCHOLOGICALLY SAFE CULTURE." Also presented the pictorial representation between psychological safety and performance level.
It provided a 'Be ready' strategy to handle any challenging situations.

Extract from this book:
"The manager is not the most powerful person in the organization. The manager is the most empowered person in the organization and can bring out the best in others.”

"Drive to thrive" is a business management book written by Sharad Bajaj.
It is consist of tips and ideas about management, but the best part is that the ideas present in this book are practical and from author's experiences which is not like any other book. I must say the author has put so much effort in this.

It contain useful quotes and illustrations which helps the reader to understand better.

“In the chase between the lion and the deer, many times the deer wins because while the lion runs for food, the deer runs for its life.”

At the end of every chapter, there is chapter summary and reflections, which contains some questions that you can ask yourself and find out the answers. Also the author has added his own thoughts which makes it more realistic. The author has described each and every topic in an explanative way. Everything is written step by step, the book is beginner friendly. The language used is simple and lucid.

Book : Drive to Thrive
Version : Kindle
Author : Sharad Bajaj

I have been a Management student and often think about the way to develop the skills. The ultimate aim of any management student is to attain the managerial position. This book comes as a guiding light for many of us who aspire to lead a team.
This pandemic has made us more competitive to update and upgrade skills. So , how are we going to ensure that we develop a qualitative skill and be a contributing member of organization?
Drive to thrive comes to our rescue. The concept of management and the facts about the skills of being a manager is well explained here. Each chapter has quotes ( from world leaders, corporate giants, philosophers, scientists) , examples ( also some hypothetical questions that makes us adapt the method of planning and creative thinking. The chapter ends with the summary ( perfect for the precise explanation).
The segment that I like most is of the Reflection part. The questions that need to be pondered about.
This book is a journey to the world of leadership.
Do read the book to update and upgrade yourselves with the skills that are mentioned.
