The villagers of Swingle Matravers, Dorset, England on returning in the early hours of the morning from a partly successful smuggling jaunt to a shipwreck on Dancing Ledge, (a real place on the coast of Dorset), discover a parcel containing a highly accurate secret stock market forecasting device worth Billions to the country that owns it due to its extreme accuracy in operation. The device originally French, and stolen from it by the African state of Bharun. The device is wanted by the British, the Americans, the Bharunians larger neighbours the South Africans, and of course the French themselves. They all desperately want the device and will stop at nothing to get it. The Bharunians and the security services of all these countries descend upon the picturesque rural village of Swingle Matravers some 6 miles from the sea and the Dorset coast, to try and wrest the secret device from the villagers Committee for Wealth. The villagers however are well organized and are determined not to give up without a fight. As a result, absolute mayhem ensues! A real David versus Goliath fight. Dancing Ledge, the second in the trilogy of stories featuring the nare do well villagers to cock a snook at the Western powers. Will they succeed?
