The killer loved throwing people off high heights, loved the power of seeing them crushed to death. A girl kidnapped, raped, chained in a cellar escapes hell and the sicko captured by police. He confesses to hundreds of murders. Jake Eichord on the job. His private life as always out of control. Drinking is destroying him. The author loves no full stops, endless sentences, descriptions like, cogitate, seriate, extrapolate, excavate, and on and on. The sicko' lawyer makes octogenarians throw away their crutches. Loads of scientific words thrown out of the pages, smashing into your brain. There were hundreds of words I have never heard, let alone spell. The brain burger bits dripping on the walls from a bullet. It's Rex. it's good.

Intense crime/suspense novel featuring Chicago serial killer detective Jack Eichord. This time he's sent to Dallas to join a special task force when a man arrested for a violent sex crime confesses to killing dozens of random people, going so far as to reveal the locations of the bodies. Plenty of twists and turns resulting in a nail-biting climax. Highly recommended.
