The Dad Surprise
Athena Arrogant. Insufferable. Self-centered. Those are just a few of the choice words I could use to describe Wolf Lauderdale. He just so happens to be sinfully hot as well. Except he’s twice my age and completely emotionally available. Cherry on top of the cake? He also happens to be my boss and my best friend's father Wolf I carry a lot of baggage. Old wounds that time hasn’t exactly managed to heal. Heck, my guard is constantly up. And yet, I can’t keep my too-smart-for-her-own-good, sassy, gorgeous secretary out of my thoughts? She’s almost half my age. I’m risking everything with her. Athena’s not going down without a fight, which is a damn good thing, because out of nowhere, the secrets of my past threaten to tear us all to shreds. Realistically speaking, I know that a happy ending may not be in the cards here. But that doesn’t stop me from wanting one. This is a standalone novel with a touch of steam and HEA.

Great read
Wolf met his match literally when Athena crossed paths with him. Big age difference however Athena is vey mature. Wolf struggled with letting his wall down. Athena was determined to thaw his heart.....

Complex and Lovely
Ms. Brooks always pens amazing stories but she has packed so much heart and angst in this book that I had palpitations! Going for a job interview, Athena is stuck in the elevator with Wolf, one of the lawyers at the firm and the person she will be working for. Wolf, a loner and a workaholic, is impressed with her wittiness and kindness. He doesn’t do relationships but he is drawn to her. Athena is strong and has a serenity that Wolf needs; he is damaged by his past. This book has so many twists and it is well written!!! I love how the story came together and the ending was satisfying.

The Plot Thickens
This is not your typical romance. The first half is a sensual roller coaster that free falls into a complex heart wrenching drama. But somehow...it all works! Makes for an intriguing read that had me annotating my digital copy all over the place! Whew!

Wow
Wolfe is every woman’s dream. He makes you want to love him or choke him, but in the end you can’t help but love him. This was a great love story. Age is just number when love is involved.

Such A Great Story!
This story started off seriously hot. It then turned into something I did not expect......a tender, loving wonderful story that would have been great even as a non-romance story.

Just OK
The beginning was good. The middle was so wordy/stretched out that I started flipping pages. The ending was great but I had to give it three stars because I got lost in the middle.

I knew how this was going to unravel and I loved it. Breaking through a barrier of 23 years of pain was tuff but Athena held in there. She knew she had a prize. Loved this story.
